"A New Beginning."
2022
We're moving.
It replayed in the young seventeen-year-old's head, his parents were serious about this too. He had every right to be angry about this. So did his older brother of one year. RJ, the young Lombax was mad about this decision.
He had to say goodbye to his friends that live in the city of Los Angeles with him since they were kids!
I can't believe this!
A knock was heard.
"What?" the purple Lombax asked.
"Roy…" it was his dad, Ratchet Davis. "Can I come in?"
The boy named Roy sighed and got up. He opened the door. Ratchet felt bad for them, he just finished talking with his oldest–RJ or Ratchet Jr. and he was crying his eyes out also.
Roy's thoughts went to the day that they were told that they were moving to Rivet's dimension.
"Dad… why, why do we have to move?" Roy put his back to a wall and slid down. He sat on the floor and hugged his knees.
Ratchet walked up to him and knelt at his level.
"Roy?" Ratchet asked. Roy looks at him. Tears streaks were on his face. His eyes were red and puffy from crying.
"Dad? Why do we have to move?" Roy asked him. Ratchet put a furry hand on his shoulder. Roy touched the top of his hand and held it. He shut his eyes and let the tears fall.
Ratchet felt bad for him; he said nothing but hugged him.
Roy let out a sob as he wrapped his arms around his neck. The purple Lombax put his head on his shoulder and let the warm tears flow out of his eyes. He sniffled, and Ratchet rubbed his back to calm him down.
"W-why? Why do we have to m-move?!" he said, struggling to get his words out as he spoke.
"Because, Roy. remember, mom needs to go back to help out the resistance." Ratchet said, explaining this to Roy, he already had to explain this to RJ too.
Roy nodded. Then he asked the scariest question ever.
"When are we leaving?" Roy asked.
"Next week, we already have the house packed."
Roy and RJ both remember the day that they got pulled out of school, they were torn to pieces when they heard the news.
They were gonna go to UCLA together with all their friends. Guess that dream is down the drain.
Roy sighed and hugged his dad tighter.
"W-what planet are we moving to?" he asked.
Ratchet already told this to RJ too.
"We have to move to Corson V," he said
Roy was relieved. If it was Sargasso, he'd have a panic attack, same as his brother. Ratchet looked into his eyes. Tars were still running down his fluffy cheeks. Ratchet took his thumb and wiped them away.
"Trust me…. You and your brother will do fine." Ratchet reassured him.
Roy sighed. "If you say so…"
A week later. Ratchet and Rivet get their stuff packed and they put their house up for sale. Roy and RJ were hugging their parents. Their two robot friends were next to the two Lmbaxes.
Ratchet and Rivet were outside. They were getting ready to head to Corson V. They picked that instead of Sargasso because they thought it would be best for their kids to live in a city-like environment similar to Los Angeles.
Ratchet activated the Dimensionator, it shot a purple rift to the city.
All of them walked in. Roy and RJ looked up at the sky. It wasn't the same. It didn't feel the same. It felt warm instead of cool. It felt like they were in Florida instead of Los Angeles.
"Wow… it's been years since we've seen this place." Ratchet said. Both Roy and RJ didn't say anything.
"Well, here we are." Ratchet said, turning on the lights to a nice-looking apartment in Megapolis.
The apartment was large. It was on two floors.
Roy and RJ dropped their bags down
They were still silent.
RJ was in his room. It was two weeks later. RJ was laying in bed. His phone was playing music as he was lying in his new room. The sun shone brightly on the city. RJ looked at his phone, it said noon.
RJ sighed and sat up.
"Another day I suppose…." he said, getting up. He opened the door and walked downstairs.
Ratchet was playing games on his Playstation 5. Roy was sitting by him drawing.
"I'm going skateboarding," he said, as he was about to grab his board. Rivet came back into the apartment.
"RJ…. I wish we could let you go but it's too dangerous for you guys, plus this isn't Los Angeles anymore… We are going to go out today and check the pace."
"But you guys already defeated the Emperor!" RJ said. Rivet knelt to his level.
"I know but… there could be robots still under his control." RJ sighed.
"Okay… I get it… I'll just be in my room." he said walking up the stairs and closing the door. Ratchet unpaused his game and continued playing.
Rivet smiled softly. Ratchet paused Fortnite on his PlayStation 5 and got up, still holding the controller.
"What's wrong?" he asked, putting a hand on her cheek.
"Ratchet… do you think this is….. Selfish of us to move out of Los Angeles?" Rivet asked.
Ratchet nodded.
"Rivet…. I get what you're trying to do but… think of the boys… they hate it here. I get that we're going to help the resistance… Rivet… they're miserable, I heard Roy crying in the shower the other day. I can't see them like this anymore…"
Rivet felt bad for them. She hated seeing them like this. Even Ratchet didn't like it, and he's been through some tough times in his life too with Clank on their adventures.
They don't know what to do…
A week went by. Ratchet was at the store. Roy and RJ wanted to tag along. Roy was wearing a LAKERS jersey and shorts. RJ was wearing a blue PlayStation shirt and jeans. RJ and Rouy had their AirPods in as they were walking. Then, a thought popped into Roy's head. Also RJ
"Dad, when will we be going back to school?"
"Well. we need to fill out the paperwork then you'll be in the new school, alright?"
"What if they don't like us? It took us a year for people to warm up to us at the school we went to. Remember Steven? That racist made fun of us because of the way we looked!" RJ said, remembering the times that they got bullied and beaten up every day for being 'different'
Ratchet put a hand on their shoulders "Guys… this school will be different. Trust us…" he said. They both nodded their heads.
"But we're worried that we might get bullied again."
"Guys… you're not going to get bullied. I promise you…"
A week went by, they were going to school.
RJ and Roy were in their dad's ship. They both saw that the city wasn't like LA at al. and they….
They missed it. The mountains. The buildings. The Hollywood sign. Their house. The Walk Of Fame. everything….
Especially the music…
They didn't have 102.7 KIIS FM anymore. RJ and Roy both looked out of the ship, so many thoughts were going through their minds right now, will they like them? Will kids make fun of them? Would they feel accepted in this new school?
Roy took out his AirPods case and put in his earbuds. He put on a song by Eminem as they flew to the school.
RJ and Roy got to the school.
Megapolis High School was large. Larger than their old high school in LA.
A metal building with two floors instead of one, glass panels were from the doors to the windows.
Ratchet, RJ, and Roy all walked in. RJ and Roy saw aliens of different races, walking the halls going to their lockers and stuff.
The three Lombaxes walked into the principal's office. They knock on the door. A small robot assistant opened the door and waved.
"Ah, you must be the Davis' children. Principal Mark will see you now." Ratchet Roy and RJ all walked in.
The man was a young Cazar, he was dark brown and he looked about six feet in height. He wore the school uniform.
"Hello, I'm principal Mark, you must be RJ and Roy," he said, shaking their hands.
They both nodded, not saying anything.
He explained to them that they had a 'dress code' at Megapolis High School. And other things too.
"Why? Why do they have to have a 'dress code?' this is insane!" Ratchet said, not taking this lightly.
Uniforms? Why uniforms?! Ratchet thought to himself as he held up the ugliest white polo shirt in disgust that his kids had to wear this… this crap!
Ratchet went back to the ship with RJ and Roy, they started school the next week. And worst of all. That they had to turn in their phones in the morning. But Ratchet will not let them.
"Dad, do we have to turn on our electronics?" Roy asked. They were in a system for years that they didn't have to turn them in at their old school. They went back to the apartment.
"No you don't and if they say anything or you get caught, I and your mom will come down there and give them a piece of our minds. Okay?" Ratchet smiled as he put his hands on both their shoulders, to know their parents are always on their side, no matter what happens.
Roy woke up to his alarm ringing that Monday morning. He got up and looked at the time on his phone
Seven in the morning.
Roy sighed, he wished that both he and RJ could go to their high school in Los Angeles.
Moving was hard….
Especially when you don't have friends in a new place or... A new dimension for that matter.
Roy and RJ were in Ratchet's ship heading to school. Roy and RJ didn't like the uniforms that they had to wear; they hated them; they wished that it was like their old school…. But in reality… you can't get whatever you want.
RJ sighed as they listened to their music.
They both saw the school building.
Ratchet turned to them.
"Have a good day guys oh and…. Don't listen to the school okay? You can keep your phones in your backpacks. Trust me and your mom." Ratchet said, smiling. RJ and Roy both put their phones in their bags. Got out of the ship and went into the school.
They looked at the students from different galaxies. Roy gripped his tail and started panicking on the inside.
Both RJ and Roy walked into the school. Then they saw a robot guard. And the guard had a conveyor belt including metal detectors like the ones they see in the Airport security at LAX.
They set their bags down as they went through the conveyor belt to check if any weapons were inside them.
Once they got through that. They went to the principal's office to get their schedules.
"God, I hate these stupid uniforms!" Roy complained, pulling the collar on his shirt a little bit.
"You and I both, bruh," RJ said as he pulled on his.
"Ow!"
"What happened?" His younger brother asked.
"One of the buttons got caught in my fur and I pulled it and a bit of fur got pulled with it."
"Oof."
RJ nodded as they went to their first class.
A tall Markazian with long brown hair and very blue eyes stood on the bridge of her ship. She wore all back and blue as she saw the planet, Carson V come into view. Then a Markazian with brown hair. Green eyes walked up to her.
"Lyra, landing preparations are a go," she said.
"Perfect, we will take down the resistance, once and for all." the woman named Lyra smirked as she saw the planet come into view.
"Hey watch it, freaks!" a voice said, knocking them down in the process. RJ and Roy were walking to class when they bumped into a kid. RJ looked up and saw the kid. He wore a white uniform like them, but the sleeves were ripped off. He looked about six foot seven in height. And he was a Fongoid like their pop-pop.
He knelt to their level, his blue eyes looking straight at them.
"Um…. h-hey…" Roy said.
"Hey losers, give me your bolts!" the bully said
"Um…." RJ hummed in thought. Then Roy asked this question, that confused him;
"What are bolts?"
Roy tapped him on the shoulder.
"Yeah?"
"The currency in our dad's games…" he whispered. His younger brother nodded.
"Are you guys for real, you guys are stupid!" the boy laughed. RJ and Roy bawled their fists.
He is worse than Steven!
They decided to ignore him and walk to class.
When they got to their history class they sat in their seats.
A few minutes before class was ending, RJ's phone was blasting Ghost by Justin Beiber. Everyone was looking at him. Even the teacher, Mr. Ritchard, was glaring at him. Roy had an expression on his face that said: are you serious right now?! RJ looked nervously as he pulled on the collar of his uniform.
Oh….. DANG!
He grabbed his bag as quickly as possible and fumbled into it. He saw the caller ID, it said 'Kaden' in white and it had them and Roy at a LAKERS game. He slid the bar to the right and put it to his ear then hid under his desk.
"Kaden?!" he whispered.
"RJ, you and Roy HAVE to come over, Alister has Stray for his PS5!" he told him.
"Kaden, did you forget that we're in another DIMENSION! I can't talk right now they have this stupid 'no phone' rule at this school for some reason. If I get caught, I'm blaming you!" he whisper-yelled.
He heard him sigh. "Fine… what about us going to the LAKERS game on Friday?"
"Can't…. We don't know if we can leave my mom's dimension," he said.
"Oh, come on! We planned this for MONTHS RJ! You and your brother can't bail out now!"
"Bruh! I can't talk now! I'll talk to you when I get-"
"Ahem." the teacher said. The teacher was a reptilian-like creature. He wore glasses and his clothes were simple. He wore a buttoned shirt and a black striped tie. He also wore khakis and brown dress shoes.
"Kaden, I have to go!" RJ said putting his iPhone 12 in his pocket before he could see it.
"Give me your communicator." the teacher said.
"Mr. Ritchard… hey…. Um–" he got cut off by his teacher who grabbed him by the arm.
"Don't touch me!" The Lombax said.
"You're going to the office!" he said.
"I didn't do ANYTHING!" he said as he was being dragged by his teacher, they went to the principal's office.
Mr. Ritchard walked in with him. The robot saw him "Can I help you Mr. Richard?" the robot named Mr. Jacob asked.
"I need to speak with Principal Mark right away," he said.
"Okay."
They walked into the office, and RJ wasn't ashamed at all. His dad would back him up.
Ratchet walked in a few minutes later. He walked into the office. And he stopped at the front desk.
"Hello. I like to see my son. His name is RJ." he said.
"He is in there but you'll have to wait, Mr. Ritchard is in there with Principal Mark, you will have to wait-" he said as Ratchet cut him off.
"I heard you the first time!" He walked past him and opened the door to the office.
"Mr. Davis!" Principal Mark said as he saw the young Lombax.
"What happened?" Ratchet asked.
"He was on a phone call in my class!" the reptilian-like human said.
"Okay….." Ratchet said not seeing this as a big deal. "So…. are you telling me that he got in trouble for having his phone on him?-" he got cut off by Mr. Ritchard
"He was answering a call in class!"
"Who cares?!" Ratchet said. "I don't care."
"Well, you should because you're the parent and you should discipline your kids!"
What's discipline?
"What is that?" He asked.
The principal had an expression of: 'Are you serious?' written on his face
"It's setting up rules for everyone to follow. Especially your kids!" the Cazar answered back.
Ratchet glared at him. "Is that right? Maybe I have a way of 'disciplining' my kids my way! My wife too. You don't have the right to tell them what to do." he said.
"Well, you should control your kids better! Where do they come from…. Earth?" he cringed after saying that word. Ratchet breathed in and puffed out air. He not was going to sit here and argue with the head of the school.
Ratchet said nothing but this: "Grab your stuff and get your brother, we're out of here." he said. RJ nodded and went to grab Roy.
"Dad, are we going back to that school?" Roy asked him.
"No, you're being pulled out. Once you guys are pulled out, I'll call Principal Janet if you guys can come back to school."
RJ and Roy's faces lit up and they hugged their father.
"Thank you thank you thank you! You're the best!" RJ said. Roy kissed him on his fuzzy cheek. Ratchet smiled.
"Let's go back home." Ratchet used the term loosely
"Okay," they said as they hopped into their ship and flew to the apartment complex.
"Rivet, we need to talk," he said.
"Okay, what's going on?"
"Remember how I said the boys aren't happy here?" Rivet nodded.
"Well, I pulled them out of school, they're not going back." he finished.
"Why?" Clank asked.
"Why? Dude, they'd been there for a day, and they hate it! You should've seen them when we got there. They weren't talking the entire time!" he explained.
"Maybe they were trying to get familiar with their surroundings, Ratchet," Clank said.
"Well, I know them, man. And they were miserable when we went into the school." he sighed as he sat on the couch and turned on his PlayStation 5.
"Wel, pulling them out was the best option, Ratchet," Clank told his friend. Ratchet nodded
"Entering Carson V's atmosphere now, Lyra." her second in command, Asher said.
"Excellent, now I can finish what Emperor Nefarious started," she said, as the large ship entered the planet
Alarms sounded throughout Megapolis, RJ and Roy were in their rooms. Roy was on his Discord as he heard alarms. The Lmbax ran to the window and saw the large ship that was in the sky.
Just then someone burst into the room.
"Roy, get out now! It's not safe here!" Ratchet said, holding a weapon. It was his favorite weapon that he'd worked with playing his dad's game, the Burst Pistol.
Roy had no time to grab anything. Just his phone. He hurried out as the fire alarm in the apartment complex was blaring in their ears.
This was just like the school fire drills but more intense.
They remember very well that they'd have school fire drills back in Los Angeles once every month.
But they did have an earthquake a few years ago back in 2009.
But this wasn't an earthquake or a fire drill
This was much worse….
They were having a full-scale invasion!
The alarm was still blaring as they ran down the stairs through the Emergency Exit. Once they'd reached the ground level, Roy and RJ were in shock as they saw the city.
This would NEVER happen in Los Angeles….
Ratchet got into his ship and flew with Rivet and their kids to a safer location that was located in the city.
They went to a building and ran down the stairs. RJ and Roy looked around, it seems like they are in some type of basement. But it was ten times bigger. Families were there with parents that were not in the resistance.
RJ and Roy were scared. The biggest question that flooded their minds was.
What if they got killed in this situation?
They didn't want to think that, their parents got this….
They got this, after all, they did save two dimensions before moving to Los Angeles.
They heard a big explosion.
"What was that?!" RJ said.
Roy gripped the strings of his red Pokémon hoodie.
Ratchet, Rivet and the rest of the resistance members were walking.
"Okay guys, stay sharp… the enemy could be anywhere…" Rivet said as she raised her hammer.
Ratchet had the Burst Pistol in one hand. And his OmniWrench in the other.
What they didn't know was that Lyra and her team were on roofs of buildings, waiting to strike first.
"Okay," she said through her commlink.
"Fire!"
Lasers and bullets start flying out of nowhere. Ratchet dodged them as he shot one of them.
"Guys! It's an ambush! We have to move!" Ratchet said. Now running. Rivet ran towards it.
"RIVET! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Ratchet yelled at her as she whacked one of them with her OmniHammer.
Just then one of them came down and charged up their gun.
They were about to shoot Rivet…
"RIVET!" Ratchet pushed her out of the way. Then the laser got him in the bicep.
"Ah! Jeez!" he said, holding his right arm. But that wasn't going to stop him.
He raised his OmniWrench and took a swing at the enemy.
"Ratchet." Rivet said.
"We have to go!"
"No! We stay and fight!" he said.
"You're hurt, Ratchet! We have to go back to medical and–"
"I'm fine," he said, as he held his arm.
Rivet sighed.
This dude….
Back at the shelter. RJ and Roy were trying to keep everyone calm.
"Okay guys, stay calm, they will defeat them," RJ said.
"But what if they don't? This new enemy is way tougher than Nefarious! What if they get seriously hurt or?..." Roy was lost in thought.
"Or… what?"
"I don't wanna jinx it but…." Roy said, looking to the left where his brother was sitting next to him. RJ looked into his blue eyes, he could tell that he was physically scared.
"What… what if they never make it out of this alive…" RJ looked at him.
"Dude…" his little brother puts a hand on his older brother's shoulder.
"Our parents are tough. Sure they're not in the army but they're strong…. don't worry about that… we don't have to worry about this for a long time…" RJ looked at his hands which were sitting on his lap.
"Don't worry, Junior… Mom and Dad are heroes. They will stop this person and their team." he assured his older brother.
"I hope so…" RJ said.
"Ow!" Ratchet said.
"Don't move." Rivet said they were at the resistance HQ. Rivet was patching up her husband's bicep which was burned by the laser gun. Rivet came back with a damp washcloth and placed it on Ratchet's bicep.
"That's nice." he smiled, then looked at her.
Rivet sighed. "Ratchet… why?" Rivet asked.
"Because I thought—"
"You weren't thinking, Ratchet! You almost got shot! This isn't LA anymore!-"
"We never HAD this problem there! Rivet, just here. This is dangerous. I don't think this is worth it. What about RJ and Roy?!" he sighed, then continued
"Dude! Do you want to risk that? What if one of us will NEVER make it back from this?! Did you ever think of that? Or worse, both of us! If that was the case then…"
"Then what?"
He sighed.
"Well, they are old enough to live on their own. We can send them back to Los Angeles where they could live with their friends, Kaden or Alister." Ratchet said, thinking of alternatives, to solve this issue.
"Let's get the boys, then we can talk about this with them. They have a say in this too." Rivet said.
RJ and Roy saw their parents run into the shelter.
"What are you guys doing here?" Roy asked.
"Roy, RJ, me, and your mom have agreed and you guys can go back to Los Angeles." Ratchet said
"No way!" they both said as they hugged them.
"Wait," RJ said as he broke off the hug.
"What about you guys?" Roy asked.
"We… We decided to stay here and fight." Ratchet said.
"NO! You guys can't! What if you guys get hurt?! Or worse!" RJ said.
"Nothing's gonna happen…" Rivet said.
They both had tears streaming down their fur now. Rivet smiled softly.
"Guys… nothing is going to happen to us… we're tough, your dad was a Galactic Ranger and I was a resistance member. Do you think anything is going to happen to us?" She asked as she hugged them again.
They sniffled as they hugged her tighter. "We don't wanna lose you guys…" RJ said crying at this point.
Ratchet gasped and hugged them tighter.
"I-If we pass away…. Our bodies will be transported to LA… okay? You guys can visit us any time… our graves will–" RJ cut his dad off.
"Don't SAY THAT!"
Roy hugged them as he sobbed, and Ratchet and Rivet both rubbed their backs in comfort.
Then, RJ noticed something on his arm.
"Dad, what's that?" Roy picked up his sleeve and he saw a bandage on him.
"YOU GOT SHOT?!" he asked.
"It did hurt. But I didn't get shot." sighs of relief escaped them.
"I got shot with a laser gun." he finished. RJ and Roy were stunned. Thank god that the laser didn't get him anywhere else, just his arm.
"Please be careful…. Get home safe." Roy said. RJ hugged them again.
Rivet pulled out the dimensionator and pointed it. A purple light shot out of it, creating a dimensional rift. They saw that the rift was at the Hollywood sign.
They hugged them again. Rivet took off her scarf.
"Here…. Take it. If we don't make it…." They both nod as they go into the rift.
Kaden was playing basketball with Alister on the streets of LA. Then they saw RJ and Roy.
"No way…." they said as they saw their two Lombaxc friends walk toward them.
They ran over to them and hugged them tightly.
"Dude! We thought you weren't coming back! What happened?" Kaden said, Alister smiled.
"We didn't like it there. So our parents sent us back but…" Roy trailed off.
"But… what? Dude. Where are your parents?" Kaden asked.
"Our… parents decided to stay and protect our mom's dimension," RJ said
¡mamá! I'm home!" Kaden said as he closed the door. RJ and Roy walked inside his house
It's nice to be back in LA. but… but… it doesn't feel right without mom and dad…. RJ thought
"Are you guys going to stay with us?" his mom Sabrina said.
"We need to, our parents are staying behind in our mom's dimension," Roy said.
She nodded. "Okay, but we don't have extra rooms.
A few weeks later. Rivet and Ratchet were both trying to take down Lyria. The resistance members were at the HQ trying to find ways to take her and her crew down.
"I have an idea. Rivet and I will plant an explosive in her ship–" Ratchet got cut off.
"That's suicide!" a member commented.
"We need to do it! If we want to take her down!"
"Okay–" Phantom handed them an explosive device. "–Take this and put it below the ship where the energy core is. Then get out of there."
They nodded and left.
They broke into the ship and ran to a door located at the bottom of the ship. Their weapons were out as they walked to the core of the ship.
They finally found the energy core. Rivet implanted the explosive and she set it to go off.
But what they didn't know is that they weren't going to make it back.
"Where are they?!" a resistance member named Nick asked.
"You have to trust them, Rivet and her husband are one of the best. We need to have faith in them." another member said.
He nodded.
Come back here, safe guys….
Ratchet and Rivet were running. Then they heard a boom and felt something shake.
"Ratchet, run faster!" Rivet yelled.
"I'm trying!" he said.
Ratchet stopped running and grabbed Rivet's shoulders.
"Rivet, if we die here, I wanna tell you I love you with all my heart, you are the best thing that's ever happened to me!" Ratchet said, tears now escaping him. Rivet also had tears escaping her eyes too.
"I love you too!" she sobbed as they both hugged, they had their hands intertwined as they took their final look before Arceus could take them.
The ship then exploded.
With them inside it….
"THEY DID IT!" Phantom said as their team cheered in victory.
"Ratchet, Rivet come in."
Silence.
"Guys come in!"
Nothing.
The members feared the worst.
They all ran to the ship to check the remains. They dug through the scrap metal for a few minutes eventually they found something.
They gasped as they saw them, covered in blood, their fur was messed up. They tried not to throw up as they saw their lifeless bodies.
They died…. They died defending them, they died heroes…
They died legends.
But their games will live on in memory.
RJ was looking through the channel sixty-seven news on his phone to see if there were any updates.
He read through the article. Then, he saw something that broke him.
"No… t-this can't be… ROY!" He ran outside where he was in the pool with Kaden.
"What's up? You wanna come swimming with me and Kaden?"
"No!"
"Aw come on, I didn't pee in the water!"
RJ showed him the article on his phone. He looked like he was about to cry.
Roy took his phone and read through the article.
"W-when did this happen?" Roy asked. His eyes were welling up with tears.
"A-A few days ago… " RJ said. RJ's and Roy's ears hang low. Roy put his hand over his eyes and sniffled.
"Why? Why does everything have to happen to us?"
RJ and Roy were in the living room. Roy held a plushie of his mom and RJ held a plushie of his dad. They looked at them. RJ hugged the Ratchet plushie.
Then, Roy got a call.
"Hello?" he sniffled.
"Hello, this is one of the resistance members. I'd like to ask you would you like to have their bodies transported to your dimension?"
Roy put his hand over his mouth. One hand was still holding his phone. He tried to hold back tears and remain calm in this situation. But no one could stay calm in this situation!
'W-we like to transport their bodies here… that's what they want... And that's what their fans want as well." Roy said, referring to the longtime fans of their dad's games and their mom's game too.
Their bodies were transported to Los Angeles in a matter of days. Carlos, Kaden's dad, was there with Roy and RJ. Carlos was there for emotional support for them.
Carlos put his hands on their shoulders and rubbed them softly with both his thumbs. They needed support through this tough time in their lives.
They put their caskets in the back of two vehicles and drove to a place where they got ready.
The funeral service was about to begin. Ratchet was dressed in a tuxedo and Rivet was dressed in a black dress.
RJ and Roy walked up to them. RJ and Roy put their hands on the side of the casket, RJ's eyes welled up with tears again as they both looked at them.
"T-they look so peaceful…." Roy said, breaking the silence.
RJ nodded. "Yeah…." he sighed. They saw their hands.
Ratchet and Rivet were holding hands.
They placed roses inside their casket and sat down.
The drive was silent to their grave. RJ and Roy said nothing.
They saw the grave; it looked like a small house. Their last name was engraved over the doors.
They slowly got out of the car, they both wore black suits as they slowly walked to the grave.
"Well, their final stop…" Roy said, finally saying something.
RJ nodded. "Yeah….." he sighed and closed his eyes.
The car stopped and they unloaded the large casket. Roy and RJ moved out of the way as they opened the doors and placed them down.
Fans came by and put flowers, presents and one of them put their PS5, fanart they did of them. All sorts of stuff. Candles were lit for them too, many people came to mourn the loss of Ratchet and Rivet.
"Hey, guys….. It's been a year now." RJ started.
"I've graduated high school and I'm going to UCLA…. You guys must be proud huh?" he sniffled
"Roy is going to be working at Insomniac Games…" he choked on a sob.
"A-And… Remember that girl I liked, Sasha? Well… I-i'm going to be a dad…. We don't know the gender yet but we're hoping it's a boy so I can name him Blaze…" he choked on another sob.
"Well, I'm off now…" he smiled and touched the glass of the doors and set a picture of him and the girl, Sasha. RJ went back into the front seat.
"So?" a voice said from the driver's seat. It was his girlfriend, Sasha Andrews. She had brown hair, brown eyes, and tan skin. She was seven months pregnant.
"I-I'm glad I got a chance to talk to them…" he sighed.
"It's been hard…. Very hard. But I can handle it…" he said as they drove back home.
