Jasper and Edward are best friends in this story, not brothers. Jasper is also a vampire but Bella doesn't know this from the start. I don't care for Charlie so there will be some Charlie hate being told.
Summary: Edward and Bella have been 'going steady" for this past school year, but, Something is not right with Edward. He's gotten really mean and angry, all the time now. What is going on with him? His best friend, Jasper, has almost given up on Edward. Bella is heartbroken. He ignores her, yells at her when he talks to her . No one knows what is wrong. Carlisle and Esme, his parents are also at their wits end. Edward hardly goes to school any longer. He is a senior and only has a few weeks left before graduation. Bella has noticed Edwards friend, Jasper, had been paying more attention to her,lately but she knows that her best friend, Alice, likes him, So Bella ignores him, or tries to until Jasper makes her pay attention.
Chapter 1;
My name is IsaBella Swan, I am 17,but I prefer to be called Bella, a Junior at Forks High School in Forks Washington i'm behind a year due to my moving to Forks late in the school year. I am madly in love with Edward Cullen, 17 and a senior at Forks high. My best friend, Alice, is madly in love with Jasper Whitlock, Edwards best friend. I think Jasper is cute, but he seems aloof most of the time. He talks to me but i'm really "in" to Edward. There is something about Edward,
I can't put my finger on it, I have a huge crush on Edward. Sometimes Jasper will acknowledge me but rarely, He seems nice enough. Jasper has told me to watch myself around Edward. Edward has a secret, but I know what it is. Edward is a vampire. His parents are also. I'm sure Jasper knows since they are best friends and have been since they have been going to school together. About halfway through the school year, Edward stopped talking to me. He was nice enough but he made it clear that he didn't want anything to do with me as far as a boyfriend, girlfriend, relationship any longer I was too young for him, even though we are the same age,his words. He was always trying to get Jasper to quit hanging around with Alice and myself. Jasper would just tell Edward to mind his own fucking business which would piss Edward off.
I know Edward told me to leave him alone, but i couldn't help but try to gain his attention again, Did I do something wrong? I don't understand what happened and I needed to know. One afternoon, after school, Alice invited me to go to Jaspers apartment with her. I called Charlie, my dad, and told him, he was ok with it, since i was with Alice. When we got there, Edward showed up. When he walked in the door and saw us, he rolled his eyes and started to leave until Jasper told him to cool his jets. I giggled which made Edward roll his eyes again. "I don't want to be here with the 'children' yelled Edward. Jasper said "sit the fuck down Edward and shut your mouth. i invited them and this is my place, I can invite whomever I please". What is your problem, anyway?" Jasper walked over to his stereo system and put on some Linkin Park then sat down in a chair, rolled a joint, and gave it to Edward saying "here, maybe this will calm you down". I was looking around for a place to sit when Jasper said "Bella, come here." I walked over towards him and he pointed to the floor, in front of his feet. I sat down, he opened his legs, grabbed my shoulders and pulled me closer so my back was against the chair and I was between his knees, when Jasper touched me I felt somthing weird, nice, but weird. I looked over to Alice with wide eyes and a look of apology. I don't know why he asked me to sit at his feet, instead of Alice. Edward looked pissed, again, I don't know why since he always acts like he doesn't even like me anymore. Jasper handed me the joint but I've never smoked weed before so I was aprehensive. Jasper leaned down and whispered in my ear, I shivered when he did that. It's cool it will just help you relax. Alice was smoking too so I decided to try it. Jasper explained how to smoke it. "Inhale it, then leave it in, don't release the smoke for a few longer you hold it in the better. I tried, but ended up choking, which made Edward Roll his eyes. All I could do was cough. Jasper asked if I was alright. I just nodded. Jasper started playing with my hair. My head dropped back and laid on his stomach. It felt so relaxing with him playing with my hair. My eyes even closed. Next thing I knew I felt a kiss on my forehead. It was Jasper asking if I was hungry. He was going to order us pizza for delivery. "What kind do you like?" um cheese is fine with me. A few minutes later the pizza arrived. I got up, went to the kitchen. Jasper grabbed some plates and napkins. Then asked what I wanted to drink. He had some soda but I opted for a glass of ice water. When I had a slice of pizza on my plate and my glass of water. Jasper said "come sit back down, with me" Alice grabbed my arm and whispered "what the fuck, Bella?" You know I like him" I know, I have no idea why he's paying me attention, he never does. "Why did you lay your head down on his stomach?" Sorry, it just felt so damn good when he was playing with my hair. Alice threw her arms up in the air then said "Fuck it" then turned and walked off. I wasn't trying to piss her off. I honestly had no idea why Jasper was acting this way, but, deep down, I liked it. After we had been at Jaspers for a couple of hours I asked Alice if she was ready to leave.
I never gave Charlie a time period of how long I'd be gone. Jasper asked "who's Charlie?" I told him it was my dad. He smiled and said "Oh, whew thought I was going to have to fight a guy for your attention, So, you don't have a boyfriend?" I glanced over to Edward and said "no, sadly I don't, not any more ". Jasper glanced over to Edward too, Edward just had a smirk on his face. Jasper then said "good then I won't have to punch someone in the face. I didn't know what to say or do after he said that. Was he trying to tell me that he liked me, as a girlfriend? No, that can't be right. He's always been so blah around me. Hardly paid me any attention. Maybe that's how guys are? I don't know. By this time Alice was truly pissed. She had walked outside. I excused myself to go get Alice and leave. Jasper grabbed my wrist and said may I kiss you goodbye? My eyes got huge at this point. I was facing Jasper, he grabbed my face and looked deeply into my eyes, I felt electricity like when you touch something and get a shock on your finger, and he said "yep, "this is it." What did that mean? But then he kissed me, deeply. I opened my mouth as an invitation and he took it. His tongue and mine played for a bit. then I had to leave or i would have jumped his bones right there. When I arrived back home, Charlie asked if I had a good time. I asked "Charlie, do guys usually ignore a girl they like?" Charlie said "why?" So I explained about Jasper. Charlie said there are a Lot of guys that do that, I was never one of those. If I liked a girl I told her, but my friend Billy always played 'hard to get' I laughed. Charlie asked me if I liked this Jasper character and what happened to the Edward boy I do now, but I liked Edward first. After leaving Jaspers place I felt different. Empty, lonely, sad. I don't know why. All he did was kiss me. But oh what a kiss it was. This is going to really fuck up my friendship with Alice now. Dammit. About that time my cell phone rang. I was hoping it was Alice but it was an unknown number. I answered and it was Jasper. How did you get my number? "I asked Alice for it" Oh my God. now I know she and I are no longer friends. She just gave you my number? "yes, but only after she quit crying" Oh Jasper you broke her heart. You realize she likes you, right? "yes, but I explained that you, Bella, were meant to be mine, not her" " don't worry I was gentle and apologized to her". Jasper what do you mean, I am meant to be yours? "you see Bella, us vampires have a soul mate out there, somewhere and when we find them, then that's it. we can't be with anyone else. Have you felt it?" I have felt lonely and sad since I've been home, is that what you mean? "yes, I have been feeling that way too, can I come over?" Well, Charlie is home and won't go to work until tonight. "Oh, okay how about I come over later then?" OK great! I'll be waiting. We hung up and I realized what he said "us vampires?" oh crap he was one also? I would have never guessed it. I guess I should have but he wasn't as pailed skin as Edward and his eyes were totally different. They were more yellow than gold and they also had some red around the color too. Charlie left for work around 10 so that meant he would be gone all night. Alone time with Jasper. I decided to run take a quick shower. I washed, quickly, then washed my hair. I wrapped my hair in a towel and grabbed another towel to wrap around my naked body. then I went to my room. I was just about to drop my towel to pull some clothes on when I heard a tap from my window. I screetched, turned around and gasped seeing Jasper at my window. "HI, open the window, please. I skipped over to the window and opened it. He apologized for scaring me. I excused myself then went to the bathroom and put on some clothes. I opted for some sweatpants and a tank, my usual sleeping attire. Jasper was sitting on my bed and smiled when he saw me. He opened his arms and I skipped over to him (i think i'm going to be skipping, a lot,now) and sat in his lap. He kissed my cheek and said "you smell good" I told him he did too. He did, he smelled like sandlewood and musk. It was heavenly. I told him that I never realized he was a vampire too. He smiled and said "well I don't usually announce it" I asked Please explain this soulmate thing. "Well with vampires we usually have a soulmate out there, somewhere and sometimes we find them and sometimes we don't but when we do find them we know, almost instantly. When I looked into your eyes I saw it, I knew you were mine. You said you felt it too, right?" Yes, I did, I had no idea why I felt that way. I've never had those feelings before. " that's because, you have never found your soulmate, until now. " I honestly think that's why Edward is being so grumpy. He probably thought he would find it in you but he hasn't so he's pushing you away. He has been looking for his mate for years" How old is Edward? He is 107" Jasper how old are you? " I'm older than Edward, does that bother you?" No it doesn't bother me. I'm just glad we found each other. I smiled. "me too, Bella, me too." I noticed that Jasper had an erection and i asked him if he wanted to make out? he smiled and said "i thought you'd never ask" Jasper I'm a virgin so if you are wanting to have sex with me, i will need to grab some towels. to place on my bed for easier clean up. Is the blood going to bother you?

I ran and grabbed some towels just to be on the safe side, and honestly hoping we would have sex, I placed them on top of my sheets, I laid on the bed, then we started making out. Jasper crawled over top of me, started kissing me slid his hand under my shirt then cupped one of my breast in his hand "perfect fit" I heard him say. then he ran his hand down my stomach. stopped at the elastic waist band of my pants. then asked "may I?" I nodded and he slid his hand in my pants and panties He touched my folds and I gasped, he then started rubbing at my folds, slowly, inserted one finger I held my breath. "Hi Billy, what's wrong?" nothing Charlie wanted me to ride by and check on you. "OH OK i'm fine. He could have called me, silly man, he's worse than a woman. I'll call Charlie and let him know I'm fine. With that Billy left. I told Jasper the coast was clear. He came back out, this time with his boxers on. I was in the kitchen looking for something to nibble on. Jasper came up behind me. wrapped his arms around my waist and started kissing my neck. I knew he was ready to go again. I could feel him. I asked if he wanted to go another round. He said only if you feel like it. I did. I wanted nothing more than to have sex with him again. He picked me up with his hands on my ass, I wrapped my legs around him while he carried me up to my bed. This time we had slow easy sex. he assured me that I couldn't get pregnant. but I was going to go to the Dr and get on the pill just to be on the safe side that's all i would need, to get pregnant at 17 UGH, Charlie would have my head and Jaspers balls. Well, Monday, at school is going to be different, for sure. Between Alice and Edward not speaking to either of us. Oh well, they were going to have to get over it. I do hope Edward finds his mate though. Jasper ended up staying until Charlie got home. When he heard him pull up in the driveway he kissed me, said he would miss me, then we made a date for tomorrow, since it will be a Sunday. He wanted me to come over to his place and stay the day. I accepted but told him I wanted him to meet Charlie, officially. So he said he would pick me up around 1. I smiled but had a hole in my heart when he left, I felt empty. I wanted him to never leave my side. I fell back to sleep. I heard Charlie open my door to check on me. Then slowly close it back again. I woke up early. I couldn't sleep without Jasper with me. I went downstairs to make Charlie and myself some pancakes and sausage for breakfast. I set the table. O.J. for a starter drink, then coffee for Charlie, milk for me. Charlie smelled the coffee and came down to eat shortly after that. He noticed how happy I was. He said " what has my Bells in a good mood? Did that Jasper guy finally come around?" yes and we have a date for 1 today and I want you two to meet. "Well, this will be fun" Dad be nice. I really like this guy. " he does seem to make you happy" he does dad, he does. How old is he? "um 17" Bella, be careful Dad he's the same age as me. no big deal. " Well i was 17 once, remember? I know what he has on his mind. I just shrugged and said, Dad I have no desire to get into anything serious. that seemed to make him relax a bit. Little did he know I was already madly in love.
Chapter 2 Jasper shot me a text to let me know he was on his way over. He arrived promptly at 1. I had just made Charlie and myself some lunch. I offered to make Jasper something, he just smiled at me and said "no thank you" Charlie offered Jasper a beer which he shot down and reminded Charlie of his age. It was a test, of course, Charlie smiled and shook Jaspers hand. "So, Jasper I hear you and my girl are dating. "yes, sir. I enjoy your daughters company. Jasper looked at me smiled and winked. If possible I would like to take Bella out tonight. " Where are you two wanting to go?" I thought about going to Port Angeles and maybe grab something to eat and a movie" Sounds like a nice date. Bella? would you like to accompany this young man to Port Angeles? "yes, I would like that very much.
Jasper smiled and offered his hand. I offered mine. He helped me up and I excused myself so I could change into something more fitting for the night. I grabbed a pair of new jeans and a lavender sweater. I also grabbed my new heels I bought. Charlie gave me his credit card and told me to go buy me something new, so I did. When I walked back downstairs Jasper smiled and nodded his head with approval. Charlie asked, "Is that what I bought you, earlier?" Yeah dad. I said with a little embarrassment.
We left shortly after our talk with Charlie. Charlie told me to be home by midnight as he had to go to work and didn't want me out "goofing off" past midnight. Jasper told him he would have me home by then. We arrived at his apartment. I was so horny. I couldn't wait to jump him as soon as we walked in his door. I threw myself at him. I put my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist. I forgot how hard his body is, he said "careful Bella, I would hate for you to hurt yourself just from running at me" We ended up in his bedroom. on his bed, he bought for appearances. I jumped up, grabbed my clothes and walked out of his bedroom. Edward looked at me with his eyes wide, then pointed "her?" Are you serious? She's a child. Fuck off Edward, shes my mate. Go find your own. Edward huffed, then stomped out of the apartment. I apologized to Jasper for walking out of his room. He told me there was no reason to apologize or hide. Edward has the issue, not me. You are my mate and he can kiss my ass if he doesn't like it. "jasper?" hmmmm, Did it bother you when I bled the first time? Actually, no, it didn't which didn't surprise me, I had given myself a pep talk, and talked with Carlisle. He mated with Esme while she was still human. I told him that you and I were mates and I wanted to make it "official" before coming over to your house with the hopes we would mate. I am sorry that I hurt you though. You realize we're going to have a lot of people staring at us, tomorrow, at school. Oh well, I don't care. I'm proud to be your mate/girlfriend. And I"m proud to have you as my mate/boyfriend. I can just see Edward and Alice rolling their eyes now. Oh well, they're going to have to turn their heads or just get over it. I can't wait until I turn 18 so I can do whatever I please. I'm so ready to leave this town, and I want to be with you all the time. No worrying about Charlie walking in on us. or sneaking over here to be alone. Bella i have an idea. What? When you are 18 you could move in with me. Jasper, that's a great idea.
Chapter 3
We arrived at school together, in his car. Sure enough everyone was staring, especially Alice and Edward. Alice had her arms crossed over her chest. She huffed, then turned her back to us. We walked, hand in hand, to our first class. Mine was on the science hall, his was in the gym. Not far from each other, but enough to make me antsy to see him after class. Alice came up to me and asked "so, what's it feel like to steal someones boyfriend?" Alice you and Jasper weren't dating. "no, thanks to you, I didn't get the chance, bitch" Alice please don't be like that, I'm sorry, it just happened. Honest. I didn't plan for it to happen. Hell I didn't even know he liked me "well,how would you feel if I went out with Edward?" I wouldn't care, but if he hurts you, I will kill him. I still love you Alice. I want to see you happy. "hand to God" When class was over I ran out to the hall to wait on Jasper. He was talking to Edward, more like yelling actually. I walked up and asked "everything alright?" Edward glared and growled at me. Jasper did not like that. He grabbed Edward by the throat and told him "don't ever do that again or I will rip your head off" By this time there were several kids watching and hoping for a fight. Jasper just grabbed my hand and we walked off to our next class. " I will be so glad when he finds his mate" he is being such an ass right now, I understand it, but damn. I think he and Alice have a date tonight. "really?" that's cool. I was with jasper at his place just relaxing. He ordered another cheese pizza and had some pot, again. I tried to smoke some, again, and I did better this time around. So by the time Edward and Alice came by jasper and I were high, laughing at absolutely nothing, which made it even funnier. Not condoning marijuana usage But damn it's fun and non addicting, thankfully. My mom used to smoke it when I lived with her. We were all getting along, for a change. We were all giddy and laughing our heads off. Alice pulled me into Jaspers bathroom to tell me that she knew Edwards secret. My mouth popped open and said "how?" He told me because he found out that I"m his mate. WHAT? Serioiusly? OMG that is fucking awesome, are you happy? Alice started crying and said yes, I'm so sorry I was a bitch to you. I didn't understand until Edward told me that you were Jaspers. Bella? Have you and Japser Mated? Yes, have you and Edward made it official? No but i'm hoping tonight we will. I"m nervous though, it will be my first time. Just be warned. it's intense but it's addicting too. we hugged, laughed and went back to the guys. Jasper winked at me, Edward told Jasper. I told Edward I was happy for him but gave him the same "if you hurt her" speech. My best friend and Jaspers best friend were now mates. Jasper offered his apartment to Edward and Alice. They accepted his offer. Jasper took me home. I wasn't feeling well. I don't know if it was the pot or the pizza or a combo of them both. On the way to my house I had to get Jasper to stop the car. I got sick on the side of the road. Jasper freaked out. He didn't want to leave me home alone. So, he stayed, downstairs until Charlie got home from work. I heard Charlie say "what the hell are you doing here? Jasper explained that I was sick and had been throwing up and he didn't want to leave me alone. I heard Charlie say "you better not have gotten my girl pregnant. I got out of bed, stood at the top of the stairs and yelled "CHarlie!, enough!" I'm not pregnant. GAH. Then I went to the bathroom and got sick again. I felt like shit. I couldn't keep anything down. The next day Jasper came by to check on me. I made Charlie apologize to Jasper. Jasper asked Charlie if it would be OK for him to take me to see Dr. Cullen, at urgent care. Jasper could tell i had lost weight due to my upset stomach. Carlisle was waiting on us. He took one look at me and said "oh my, you do look sick little girl. I had the flu" He gave me an injection of something then patted Jasper on the back, congratulating him on finding his mate. I smiled. Carlisle said go home, get on a comfortable set of clothes and stay in bed. To Jasper, he said, if she still can't keep anything down, by this time tomorrow, I want to know. We might have to put her in the hospital and hook her up to an IV so she doesn't get dehydrated. I will write you an excuse from school. and I will call Charlie for you. Jasper took me home, carried me from the car to my room. Charlie said that Carlisle called him. So Charlie opted to leave and stay at Billy's for a few days so he wouldn't get sick from me. Jasper stayed with me. Kept up with my temperature. and would hold my hair when i would get sick. He even warmed me up some chicken broth, but that just came right back up again. UGH I felt like death warmed up. I noticed Jaspers eyes were dark. So I told him to go hunting. He didn't want to leave me, so I phoned Alice to come sit with me. Jasper and Edward went hunting together that night. the guys were gone for over an hour. By the time they got back Alice and myself were whinning because they had been gone so long. Jasper had ran to his apartment to get a change of clothes. I asked Alice if she and Edward "sealed the deal" and they had. which was the main reason Jasper offered them his apartment. I was so happy for Alice and Edward. Edward did seem more relaxed and not as bitchy. He also apologized to me for being so damn rude and mean to me. So meeting his mate was his problem after all. I had my eyes on Edward and Alice had hers on Jasper, we ended up with the opposite fellas. Oh well. At least we know now why it turned out the way it did. I'm happy, I think Alice is too.
Chapter 4
I had the horrible flu for 2 weeks. I couldn't keep anything down which meant a short hospital stay for me. YUCK. I hate needles. Jasper called Carlisle to let him know. Carlisle told Jasper to take me to the ER. Carlisle would contact the ER dept and let them know I was on the way as a direct admit and why I was coming. Jasper called Charlie and told him what was going on. Charlie was upset but understood why Carlisle was so concerned. Jasper took me straight to the ER and they were waiting for me. Jasper was going to sit in the waiting area for me but I begged him to come with me. I hate needles so I figured if he was holding my hand then I would be more relaxed. I looked into his eyes and they were golden so I knew he wasn't thirsty. I did tell him if he started feeling uncomfortable he could leave. I mainly wanted him while I was getting the IV. He came back to the ER with me and held my hand while they started the IV. I kicked my legs and said "OWWW, really loud. Jasper squeezed my hand and whispered in my ear that he loved me. The nurse said that Carlisle had been called and he would be here shortly. They took me up to the 2nd floor for overnight came to the room with me. Jasper and the nurse helped me out of my clothes into the ugly hospital gown. There was a recliner in the room. So he decided to stretch out in that while I tried to get some sleep. The pink lady brought me a tray. everything on it was soft. Broth, jello, hot tea, etc. I tried my best to sip on the broth and tea but it refused to stay down. I cried and apologized to Jasper for my getting sick. He told me it was alright and to not worry about it. Carlisle showed up right after I got sick, Jasper told him about me getting sick, again. Carlisle was not happy. He said they were going to do some blood work. a CBC which would check for everything. Crap another needle. Carlisle assured me that the lab would take my blood from the IV they had in my arm. I called Charlie to let him know my room number and visitation hours. Charlie was sad about me moving out. I know he was worried. But I assured him that if anything went wrong or Jasper and I broke up I would come back home.

I feel horrible, words can't describe how I feel" What did you do to her? she looks terrible. "I accidentally cut her" How in the hell do you accidentally cut someone? Dad, it was an accident. I walked up behind him, and scared him. I didn't know he had a knife in his hand and when he turned arround the knife sliced me. But Carlisle fixed me up. I'm fine now. Charlie looked to Carlisle and Carlisle nodded and smiled. She's right, she's fine and can go home. "Bella, you're coming home wih me!" No, i am not and you can't make me. "Bella, he's no good for you. "Yes he is. I love him. and if you make me leave him I will never ever forgive you. Charlie threw his arms up in the air and said "fine. go back to him. Hopefully next time he won't kill you. DAD! NO, DAD! Stop it! Carlisle released me but whispered "If you need my help, about anything, call me no matter the time of day. Esme can help too, if you'd rather have her help. I knew what he meant. Carlisle prefered large prey, i.e. mountain lions, etc. Apparently that was Edwards choice also. I hated killing any of them. My body tensed up, automatically when I spotted a deer nearby. Esme told me to go with it. My body knew what to do. I was in a crouching position and my legs were like springs. When the deer got closer my legs just did the job. Carlisle showed me how to dispose of the carcasses. When we all finished hunting we made a game out of who could make it back to the house first. Carlisle won. Esme and I tied. Jasper was watching off the back porch and was smiling when we arrived. "See darlin I told you, you could run and you didn't fall once" then he kissed me. I noticed his eyes were dark. Jasper you need to hunt too. Yes I do I was waiting on you to get back. He proceeded to jump off the porch and took off to hunt. I heard him say "hope you saved some deer for me" I was so fucking happy. I can't explain the feeling. Carlisle called me into the house. Bella how are you feeling? "Carlisle I am so fucking happy He made a face. I"m sorry, then I slapped my hand over my mouth. Esme just smiled and shook her head. Esme took me off to the side and said something that I never expected to come out of her mouth. Bella, Now that you are like us the sex is going to be way better, then she smiled. I heard Carlisle clear his throat. I looked up and he was smiling from ear to ear. Then he nodded his head in agreement. Oh damn. I had something else to look forward to. No more holding back.
