(Dan, Vanessa, and Jenny return to Brooklyn in a town car)
Dan: "Well, we did it."
Vanessa: "How do you feel Dan?"
Dan: "Liberated. It was the right thing to do."
Vanessa: "How do you think it's going to change everything, in terms of your endeavors? Your guy's relationships with the others…with your family?"
Dan: "I don't know. I know everything is going to change. If I lose some endeavors, so be it. As for the others, I may never talk to any of them ever again, but I think the best way to handle it is to accept that those relationships are over. It's just us again."
Vanessa: "The three musketeers. We had something to prove and we did it."
Jenny: "I thank God I don't go to Constance anymore. I can't imagine the fall out."
Dan: "Me too."
Jenny: "We're officially social outcasts again."
Dan: "Maybe, but maybe not. Time will tell."
(Meanwhile Rufus and Lily wait in the loft for them to return)
Rufus: "I just can't believe my kids are involved in this. After everything I did to teach them about self-worth and how you don't need the Upper East Side to become someone…"
Lily: "They think differently."
Rufus: "I don't know what to do. I don't know how to respond to this."
Lily: "What can you really do Rufus?"
Rufus: "Am I supposed to just let it go? They meddled in people's lives. They don't deserve to get away with this."
Lily: "I agree with you, but is any amount of punishment really going to suffice?"
(Dan, Jenny, and Vanessa enter the loft to see Rufus and Lily waiting for them. Vanessa is not welcomed to join the conversation and is asked to leave.)
Rufus: "I just don't understand how you could do something so heartless. The both of you… and to your friends and family…"
Dan: "Dad, I know it's not going to make sense to you…but…"
Rufus: "Everything that I taught the two of you just went in one ear and out the other…?"
Jenny: "Dad, we're not saying we didn't hear you, it's just…"
Dan: "Dad, we know what you taught us. We know you wanted us to live by this moral compass and we tried it that way but it didn't work."
Rufus: "So you had to resort to this?"
Jenny: "We really didn't do anything that bad…ok it's kind of bad from your perspective, but…Lily you understand don't you?"
Lily: "I do. But I have to support your father on this, not because I agree, but because he needs my support."
Rufus: "Thanks a lot Lil."
Lily: "I'm sorry Rufus, I understand why you're upset but what's done is done. Dan and Jenny are still great kids and this doesn't affect their high school lives, or their entry into colleges. They both have the careers that they want. And now they can learn from their mistakes and become mature adults."
Jenny: "Thank you Lily."
Dan: "Dad, Jenny and I know what we did was wrong. But we've come clean and we're prepared to face the consequences of the Upper East Side. We're sorry that you're disappointed in us, and we hope that one day we can earn back your respect but we made our beds and we're ready to lay in them."
(Dan and Jenny go to their rooms)
