(Everyone in all of New York has a copy of the book, including Serena and the rest of the gang.)

Lily: "Serena, we're leaving. (Calling from the bottom of the stairs) Are you sure you don't want to come with us and help support Dan?"

Serena: "I don't think so." (Standing at the top of the stairs)

Lily: "You and Dan are going to have to put this behind you at some point. We're still a family."

Serena: "You guys have a good time." (Walking back towards her room)

(Serena didn't want to admit that she had read the book. That despite the negative outlook of her past and the person that she was, Serena had to admit that the book was good and that some part of her was beginning to understand why Dan did what he did. Dan's book also made her realize how much she tried to run away from her problems and how much she really wanted to change.)

(Meanwhile across the way at Dan's book signing, anyone who's anyone of the Elite shows up to support, including Nate)

Dan: "What are you doing here? I mean I'm happy to see you, but I didn't think I would see you..."

Nate: "Yeah, well….one of the biggest events in the city right now, how could I miss it."

Dan: "Does that mean that you forgive me or are you just here for the Spectator?"

Nate: 'We're cool man. I mean get it, I get why you did it. Life's too short."

Dan: "I appreciate that. Did anyone else come with you?"

Nate: "If you actually thought Blair and Chuck were coming your nuts."

Dan: "No, I didn't mean them."

Nate: "As for Serena…she's not ready yet. But I think she'll come around. Enjoy your night man."

(Later that night the Humphrey's return to the penthouse to celebrate)

Lily: "Serena, come join us." (Seeing Serena appear from her room)

Serena: "No thank you." (Exiting the apartment heading to the elevator)

Dan: "Serena wait!' (Running into the elevator just in time)

Serena: "I don't want to talk to you Dan."

Dan: "I know. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry. I truly am sorry. I do regret what I did to an extent, because I never wanted to hurt you. I really did love you, Serena."

Serena: "I know you're sorry. And I think you did love me. This doesn't mean that I forgive you, but you did achieve something great…You wanted to be a writer and you've done it…so congratulations."

Dan: "Thank you Serena."

Serena: "I'm late to meet Nate. (Reaching the lobby) Goodnight Dan."

Dan: "Goodnight." (Dan watches Serena leave feeling like he had made some progress)
