CHAPTER 4

TOKYO
(THIRD PERSON POV)
Mirko was taking Maple to the mall today as it has been two weeks now since she brought her home and has seemed to adjust well enough. Minus the fact she accidentally ate her spoon twice the previous day while eating her soup, but with her stomach acid it was all right according to Recovery Girl. In fact she said that Maple vomit could likely give a person first degree burns if purposely done, due to how potent it is. This they found out after they saw no spoon in the x-ray and induced vomiting, only for said vomit to cause Present Mic who had the misfortune of getting it on him to suddenly scream from pain. Fortunately Eraserhead shut him up by nullifying his quick and knocking him out with a right hook for everyone sake.
However when someone recognized them incognito mode and Maple freaked out the crowd ended up separating them. This caused Mirko to freak out and yell at them all to back off so she could find her daughter they all scared off. Fortunately for her Ingenium was in the area with his brother doing some clothes shopping when they heard the commotion and agreed to help her. What she ended up finding made her blood boil and as a result she ran forward prepared to kick her way through the problem like always.
Maple after slipping through the excited and jostled crowd via crawling through their legs found an alley not too far where there was no one following her. However as she was finally taking notice of the details of the alley she noticed a girl sitting down against the wall of one of the buildings. Her blond hair was in two small messy buns on either side of her head, her yellow cat eyes were dilated. Sharp intakes of breath were her only source of oxygen with suddenly stopped when she took notice of Maple after she took a step forward towards them. Before she could say anything the girl dashed towards her, box cutter pulled out. The blond girl grabbed one of Maple arms with her free hand while the one holding the knife was brought to her neck. Maple however was far too focused on the girls disheveled appearance to realize she was swinging a knife at her. What she did notice however was a particular scent she had become fond of since she had came to this world. "You smell like blood, do you like it too?" Maple asked the girl causing her mind and body to come to a complete halt.
Himiko Toga had just attacked her crush a few days ago and was now on the run hiding in an alley trying to wrap her head around what she just did. That was when a black haired girl had entered the alley smelling as though she was covered in blood despite being completely clean. The metallic smell that she craved wafted through the air to her nose causing her already high strung instincts to go off on her. However when the girl she tried to attack said she liked blood as well it made her freeze up not sure how to respond next. "I(PANT)do(PANT)but I(PANT)really need some(PANT)." Himiko said having to catch her breath in-between every other or few words.
Maple was wondering why the girls parents did not give her proper amounts of blood like her new mother did for her. So she got an idea to try and help the girl cause that is what a hero was supposed to do. "Do you want to bite me? I can regenerate any wound instantly so no need to worry about leaving a scar." Maple said as she casually offered what was supposed to be an enemy help like she always did.
Himiko who was utterly surprised at the kindness of the girl standing before her, had begun to tear up as she dropped the box cutter. Almost falling down as the girl caught her with both arms slowly falling to their knees as Himiko began to feel the intense warmth of Maple body radiate into her. She then bit Maple shoulder with her full strength unintentionally as between her starvation for blood and her overflowing emotions she had no composure left at the moment. Maple who barely felt anything at all simply patted her head as telling the girl it was going to be all right now. After Himiko had just drank enough blood to make anyone other than Vlad King and now apparently Maple collapse from blood loss. She had recovered her senses to notice the other girl was smiling at her seeming pleased with what happened. They introduced themselves as Maple… it was a cute name and its sweetness suited her perfectly. "My name is… Himiko it is just Himiko, hey can we-" but she was cut off by the huff from a well know known hero Endeavour spotting them.
"Well, well look at what we have here, two monsters in one go this made things much easier for me now." Endeavour said hating he could not go after Maple at the time of the incident. However now that he spotted her in an intimate moment with a wanted psychopath who nearly killed her classmate a few days ago he could arrest her. Now the request made to his agency to track the Toga girl down seemed like it was no longer a waste of his time. "You two are under arrest!" He declared grabbing them by their necks in a way that won't choke them but will also prevent them from biting him. However before he could walk back into the city streets with his villains and hand them to his sidekicks he was suddenly kicked through the wall.
To the people passing by Endeavour had just suddenly burst from behind the wall separating the streets from the warehouses behind them. With him now no longer holding them, Mirko unintentionally took both girls into her embrace making sure they were ok. After picking himself up Endeavour had begun to glare at Mirko with great disdain for getting in his way again. "HOW DARE YOU! YOUR DAUGHTER WAS CAUGHT TRYING TO HELP THAT VIL-" He did not get to finish his sentence as Mirko kicked him again. This time lifting him in the process with her foot while doing so, sending him crashing through all the lamp lights in the street as his flames only made them break easier. By the time his sidekicks double back around they saw their boss land on the pavement coughing up blood. Seeing, that it was Mirko at the other end of the street in a fighting stance they already could figure out what happened.
They were about to attack her for interfering with their search for the young villian on the loose when suddenly the police sirens were heard. When they got there, everyone which unfortunately included Endeavour gave their statements. Of course Endeavours sidekicks despite not seeing the two girls together themselves vouched for their boss saying he was telling the truth. Mirko and Maple along with the new girl gave their accounts of what happened. "I am sorry but she does have a warrant out for her arrest." The office said about to handcuff Himiko when Ingenium of all people grabbed his hand.
"My apologies but based off what we had been told I cannot allow you to arrest a victim of discrimination! If you want to arrest them, then do so after a proper investigation into the girls family had been done… OK?" The last word he said was not a request but an order, one that the officer did not feel like chancing disobeying. This tone of voice caught Mirko off guard as well for a second as she had thought it was impossible for Ingenium to sound so threatening.
After a call to Nezu he had Recovery Girl set up a test at a hospital that he knew neither Endeavour nor any other parties involved could tamper with. Though the parents denied it, Himiko despite being fairly athletic was still clearly malnourished due to her not consuming enough blood. It took a few days but soon after it was revealed that not just the parents but the so called 'support group' and the school she attended told her to suppress her quirks urges. As such she was declared not sound of mind when she attacked the young man and would have been taken into foster care. However after determining how similarly the two girls have suffered in the past they decided that it was best they had each other for support. This resulted in Mirko adopting the Toga daughter whose new name was now Himiko Toga as she refused to use the name her parents gave her.
Her rehabilitation as demanded by the victim boy parents would attend UA along with Maple so they could teach them to control their bloodlust together. This made the victim parents upset saying how such a cozy life was not the rehabilitation the quote on quote animal deserved. Fortunately for them Midnight was able to keep Mirko calm as Nezu made it clear that Himiko was a victim as well in all of this, very arguably the most affected victim.
As for the exact punishments the parents were charged with things like child abuse, lying to the police, and a few others which also included some basic human right laws. However their lawyers managed to lower it from death row to sixty-nine years in prison with no bail and no real hope of a retrial. Granted they were already in their late thirties so they will be in their late ninety's if not early hundreds when they are done their sentence.
The head of that support group her parents brought her too was sent to prison for more or less the same crimes but on multiple accounts. Along with a few other charges that the parents did not get due to his profession. However since he was already in his late fifties he accepted the death penalty as even if he got a reduced sentence he would be well into his hundreds with what his reduce one would have been. He was hanged a few months afterwards but not before how utterly Nezu, Recovery Girl, and Hound Dog made sure to obliterate his professional reputation. The other children of the group had their parents investigated finding similar but fortunately less aggressive and abusive situations to Himiko. With much gusto, Nezu made sure to help find them new foster parents immediately. Speaking of other kids, her younger brother was taken in by his aunt and uncle, something Nezu did not even try to fight considering the gap between the treatment between him and his sister. He had changed his last name, to what? Nezu nor anyone except him as well as his aunt and uncle knew was so the principal put it out of mind for now.
Teachers at the school were all fired and sent to prison for significantly less time than the previous two but prison none the less. The school was shut down as a result with the ones owning that private school being barred from opening any educational facility again. Their lawyers had managed to reduce what little prison time they could have gotten down to a fine. All in all Nezu was pleased that despite an incident occurring they were able to avoid young Himiko killing someone and having to live with that for the rest of her life. Though he doubted she would ever be 'normal' normal, she could be at least normal enough to safely live as a functional member of society. Besides in Nezu rather unique opinion normal was overrated and boring, he preferred his students to have a little personality to them.
Unfortunately Endeavour had no punishment thrown his way as the police originally were the ones to ask him for his help in the manhunt for the young girl. Since they did not get the full story before hand he could not be blamed for not knowing her circumstances. Rather the police were the ones shamed by this mistake for not realizing right away how suspicious it sounded. However with the more capable officers and detectives occupied with ongoing cases only the mediocre or biased ones were unfortunately left. As a result they instantly assumed the blood quirk user was one hundred percent guilty and that was that.
After all that nonsense involving the parents ending on two weeks Himiko was now officially Mirko daughter as well. Midnight ended up spending almost all her days off now visiting them and staying the night… not that Mirko would admit she liked. Once they reach the two months mark of Maple being there, it was decided by Hound Dog it was time for her to see where they found her. It was unsure how she would react, but he felt the odds of her freaking out and full transforming again were low enough to chance it. However one thing Mirko did not expect with Midnight coming with them, this happened to lead to the mistake in relationship people passing by were making.
"Those two look like good parents."
"Do you think the black haired one gave birth to both the girls?"
"I wonder how long they have been married? It is hard to tell."
These comments were making Mirko now aware of how people were viewing their little group. "Are you okay Honey, you look like you are getting a little red?" Midnight asked with an amused smirk as she pressed the back of her hand against Mirko forehead.
This now convinced the rabbit hero that her friend was also listening in to the people around them, not just her. "I am perfectly fine, I am just hot!" Mirko said back raising her voice a little. Causing everyone to turn to them now looking directly at them. 'Oh God how can this get any worse.' She thought just a moment before she would regret it.
"Damn straight you are hot." Midnight said in a sultry tone before tapping Mirko on the nose playfully before sticking her tongue out in a playful manner. As she quickly, almost skipping retreated to Maple and Himiko Mirko was stunned not sure what to do next. After a few snickers and some comments from the women around them about cute of a wife she made. It took only a second for this to sink in before she chased after Midnight telling her not to dare leave her behind and never to do that in public again. "So it is okay for me to play with your nose at home then?" The 18+ Heroine asked in obvious sarcasm getting another annoyed response from Mirko. Nezu would eventually hear about this incident and make fun of Mirko for it every chance he got.
Shortly after this and when she had calmed down they came across a green haired boy covered in bruises, burns, with what even looked like a few stab wounds. This unfortunately caused them to delay Maple seeing the disaster sight any further as the two girls insisted on bringing the boy to the hospital. When they got their they found out that his mother was a 'supposed' victim in the attack when Maple went on a rampage. However what the other police officers he told did not believe and threw him out onto the streets. The countless scars, bruises, and cuts were almost all from over the years, his back and chest resembling a stomach churning patchwork.
MUSTAFU UA
(THIRD PERSON POV)
Mirko, Midnight, Maple, Himiko, and Izuku Midoriya were all standing in front of Nezu desk with Detective Tsukauchi standing beside Nezu. "You are creating a lot of work for us police these days Mirko, exposing corrupt educators and finding problem children." Detective Tsukauchi said in a joking manor.
"I AM NOT DOING THIS ON PURPOSE!" Mirko screamed back mildly at him in frustration with her luck.
"Well in any case this makes the second school you helped us to shut down. Though this is the first school where we had to actually arrest some of the children." Nezu said thinking back to Bakugo Katsuki. After they investigated the school, unlike the other kids who got arrested and sent to juvenile prison he got sent to an adult prison. The reason was due to the laws only protecting him till he was seven when it came to his quirk hurting people. As such for just a little over the past seven years he has committed crimes like assault, and public quirk use in combination. Since he admitted to doing it all on purpose and due to the severity of his damage he did to Izuku he was trialed as an adult. And due to his admitting to it freely, his defence lawyer his parents got him was unable to due anything for him. He would have tried for a plea deal but with all the evidence and ready to back stab witness testimony he was a sure success so no plea deal would ever be accepted.
As for the officers who threw Izuku aside and refused to hear him out, the detective has already taken care of them. Once he brought these allegations to his superiors they gave him full authority to investigate these officers. It turned out they knew and even participated sometimes in what those two officers who died used to do the quirkless women or women who complained about their quirkless kid getting attacked asking to press charges. Both officers were fired and sentenced to spend what would basically be the rest of their natural lives in jail, assuming others prisoners did not kill them first.
"What we need to do now, is decide guardianship since his father has not responded back to us and had stopped sending money to his mothers account once it was closed." Nezu said already knowing who he could ask.
"… Fine, if he is ok with me adopting him then just give me the necessary papers to sign." Mirko said already seeing how this was gonna turn out. Especially since he was and still is pretty much clinging to her side since he woke up in the hospital.
"Well are you?" Nezu asked Izuku Midoriya with a soft smile already guessing the answer.
"I-I-If she is ok with adopting a quirkless kid like me." Izuku stammered still unsure if she will throw him aside like everyone else since he was quirkless.
Mirko let out a hard sigh at this. "Kid I do not care if a person is quirkless or what their quirk is. So long as they do not hurt innocent people and do their best at whatever the hell it is they do, then I am happy to know them." Mirko said ruffling his hair with a smirk. Her competitive side showing in her little speech, just like Himiko, Izuku was going to keep his last name as it reminded him of his mother.
EARLIER IN THE DAY
WHEN MAPLE HAD ARRIVED
(THIRD PERSON POV)
The principal of Aldera Junior High had just finished a conversation with Inko Midoriya and her son about how he passed out in the doorway of their home covered in fresh bruises as well as burns. She had threatened legal action against them and the Bakugo family for what has happened to her son. Not backing down after he threatened to expel her son for causing trouble for their best student and putting a black mark on her sons record. This would be bad if she actually brought her son to a doctor to be examined before going to the police. Deciding this had to be taken care of quickly, he called a police officer that he usually does to alter reports while shutting up the parents. Fortunately for him this time it was just the mother of a quirkless child whose husband lives over seas working. So this time they could just outright kill her without having to worry about any repercussions. That is it normally would be how this would go for the man, if he did not make a mistake in trusting the competency of these officers as well as Izuku Midoriya luck.
While the mother and son were on their way home they were spotted by the officers on their way to the pairs house. Unfortunately for the officers Izuku was in the convenience store, deciding that he was just not in the area they arrested his mother first deciding he would be useless without her. What they did not realize was he saw them cuff his mother, and drive off towards the warehouse district part of Mustafu where he followed them. Most people would think a quirkless kid could not follow them on foot while they were driving a car. But by watching the tv broadcasts on his phone of the local hero fights, he spotted their car driving in the background. Following it route via that he made his way deeper into Mustafu on their trail.
This was where he witnessed them use his mother for their pleasure, paralyzed by fear and shock before she noticed him. The only words she mouthed before her soon to be death was 'get home' before he took her own her words and ran for it. However a monster appeared literally a few warehouses over from where they were later that day. He tried reporting what he saw to two officers during a nightshift the next day as he had passed out, rather hard when he noticed his mothers green hair sticking out from between two of the monsters toes. The officers however simply shoed him away and after a quick bash with a baton, told him that his mother clearly died from the monster and that he should not accuse cops of such horrible crimes. Despite news of her death spreading around the school via Katsuki Bakugo, he was continued to be beaten. Once his father stopped sending money he would soon be left with nothing to eat, so he ended up wandering the streets unable to continue living in the home that reminded him of his mother.
As for the officers that day Izuku mother died, while trying to get the body ready to burn to remove their dna evidence. A black scaly monster that could only be described as a demon appeared from the building over to one of their sides. Due to being in the alley way hiding no one noticed them when shit hit the fan, resulting in them being stepped on… but not dying. Instead they spent almost the entirety of the monster fight, stuck between the toes of one of its two feet. Barely alive while constantly being put into more pain with each step it took with them along for its ride. Eventually after they died their corpses were scraped off its feet and buried under rubble after the beast took a considerable hit.
