The birth of a Ruler

Ainz did not think of himself as a complicated man. Further than what others may have known, he was actually quite a simple being. Yes, he knew that he did not need much in life to achieve happiness. However, at this very moment, his undead being shook to the core as a tiny wail of a child seemed to fill the halls of Nazarick. The cry echoed and for a beat, he heard dead silence, and then cheers erupted from within the castle. Ainz's fourth child had finally made their entrance into the world. Demiurge, Cocytus and Pandora's Actor had been within the first to express their delight at the coming of the third heir of their beloved master.

-"Ahh, yet again the world shall know that the magnificence of a true ruler has descended upon this unworthy world!" exclaimed Demiurge, his grin truly the picture of delight.

Cocyutus nodded by his side and added "I. Shall. Pour. My. Being. Into. Training. And. Spoiling. This. New. Young. Master. Or. Mistress"

Ainz could not truly discern Cocytus' facial expression, however he could feel the warmth and joy within his words.

-"Father, what an incredible sensation of joy this is, for I, your first child, shall once again get to experience the honor of being an honorable older brother!" Pandoras Actor's voice rang out in his usual over the top self, however this time Ainz did not mind it, for he too was ecstatic over the birth of his youngest. It had been some time now since Ainz had gained control over his emotions once again and although extreme emotions were still largely subdued, he was able to feel the reverberating sense of joy coursing throughout his body.

Just then, his two other wives arrived to give their congratulations and respects, for this child was also an heir and offspring of their wonderful lord. The two unparalleled beauties smiled affectionately at Ainz, their adoration for him seeping out of every last one of their pores.

-"Ainz-sama, we are most happy that our lineage has gained yet another air" sang Shalltear in a dreamy lullaby voice. In her arms, a tiny toddler with blood red eyes and the whitest most terse skin you could ever lay your eyes upon. The child had a pristine face that could easily be mistaken for an exquisitely carved doll. Her eyes looked up at Ainz, highly intelligent and gave a smile so radiant Ainz thought it might just disintegrate him from the core. The child, the second borne from her second wife, Shalltear Bloodfallen Gown, was blessed upon with the name of Celest Vi Victoria Bloodfallen Gown Zwei.

Before Ainz could answer the congratulatory statement, his attention was torn from his immensely adorable daughter and was occupied now by the words of his first wife, the Guardian overseer, the otherworldly beaty, Albedo Gown Tabula. Ainz had bestowed upon her a second last name to have her name fit in with the times of the world. He could not let other Kingdoms look down upon her gorgeous wife because of her short name.

-"Truly, the birth of another child of Ainz-sama is an event for the world to rejoice upon!" Albedo cried, the love and joy in her heart almost overflowing. The arms of this beautiful woman were lovingly wrapped around a heartbreakingly beautiful little boy. The beauty which his face was blessed with, he was sure, held no comparison to that of another man of this or any other world. Nestled upon his head, two small horns the color of Ivory, framed by the darkest, silkiest black hair one could imagine. It was easy to see that he was Albedo's child. His eyes, however, were not the same shade of luscious gold that her mother's. Instead, the child proudly shone a pair of beautiful red rubies for eyes. The name bestowed upon this exquisitely beautiful child was Alexandrite Li Igneum Tabula Gown Eins. Truly, a gift to the world, Ainz thought to himself.

He nodded, acknowledging both of his wives comments and raised his head as the mighty king he portrayed to be.

"An offspring…an heir…a ruler…The world has been bestowed with yet another one of mi precious descendance. Let us rejoice!" Ainz announced to Nazarick, which in turn responded with a thunderous "We swear our fealty, our all to the new born heir!".

Just then, the doors to the birthing room slowly opened, revealing several maids, at which Yuri Alpha, Pestonya Shortcake Wanko and Nigredo stood at the head. They all had an overjoyed smile plastered on their face. Yuri, at the head of them, kneeled before Ainz, the rest followed suit simultaneously.

-"My lord, Ainz-sama, it is my greatest pleasure to announce that your third born has shone into this world healthy and strong. Do you wish to see it?"

Ainz nodded with delight "Take me to my child and my wife"

Yuri nodded and turned, follow me please.

Ainz walked into the room, with the grace and dignity of a true overlord ruler. However, deep within his heart, he felt that this happiness had sprout straight from the heart of Suzuki Satoru. That man whose mortal life and loneliness had been left behind when he had traveled into this world.

There, at the center of the room, in an enormous and regal canopied bed, he could spot out his third wife; the woman previously known to the world as Zesshi Zetsumei aka Certain Death. And there, cradled lovingly in her arms, a small bundle outstretched its tiny hands towards its mother.

His third wives' eyes glued to the tiny figure in her arms finally looked up at him and with a love filled smiled breathed "Ainz-sama…" her voice trembling with emotion for this new life she had brought to the world. Ainz knew if he could cry, he would most definitely be bawling his eyes out right now. Ainz took a bony hand of his and softly caressed his wives cheek "You've given me and de Sorcerous kingdom a new heir. I am most grateful, Aeryn." This was the new name bestowed upon her after becoming the third wife of the Sorcerous King. Ainz had strongly encouraged her to keep her birth name, but Aeryn had insisted that the name which she was birthed with had weighed her down up till that day. She saw her renaming as the birth of another woman, who had sworn her all to the man that had liberated her from her emptiness.

Aeryn held the hand her husband had placed over her cheek and leaned into it closing her eyes "I have been blessed with the honor of carrying your child witin me" she openend her eyes and asked "Would you like to hold her?"

Ah, it was a her. Ainz's heart danced with joy to know this, as the emotion was partly subdued, he felt that it might just be too great to be contained completely. He nodded and took the tiny being into his arms. For a second, he was worried that his bony physique would discomfort her, however, that worry was quickly subdued as he made contact with her. Instantly he could tell that this girl would one day have powers to overtake countries and kingdoms all on her own. He felt not only his magic power, but Aeryn's course through her veins. He took a peek at her face and immediately felt the world beneath him faulter. His children all were truly a sight to behold. If he hadn't known any better, he would have mistaken her daughter for a cherub. Her creamy Ivory skin was rosy at the cheeks, which let Ainz know that she was not a fully fledged undead. He could even see whisps of humanity within her, however faint they might have been. Her hair was just as her mother's, snow white on one side and midnight black on the other. As he gazed awestruck at the face of his youngest daughter, he could not help but carress her angelic face with his finger. Just then, the child opened her eyes, and the shock nearly made Ainz let out a careless gasp. Her eyes, the color of all of his children's, a beautiful bright red. The mark of his powerful heritage, an unyielding and proud descendant of the Sorcerous Undead Kingdom. The girl, as if she had sensed her father's pride, took her tiny hand and grabbed onto his finger, as she graced him with her first smile of her life. Ainz knew at this moment that nothing else mattered as long as he could keep his family with him.

Aeryn on the other hand, let out an emotional gasp beside him, as she caught sight of the color of her daughter's eyes.

"To think…to think she alone was set free of the curse of these eyes. I…" she let her words trail off as Ainz took her hand into hers.

"Your eyes are most beautiful because they belong to you, Aeryn. It does not matter if they were an unwanted inheritance, they are still yours, and therefore, still magnificent".

Aeryn smiled "You always know what to say, my dearest Ainz-sama" she squeezed his hand and turned her attention to the precious creature nestled within the overlord's arms "What do you think we should name her?" she asked.

Ainz thought about it for a while. In the past, he had insisted with his wives that he was not confident in the art of bestowing names and therefore had tried to delegate such an important matter onto the mothers of each child. However, they had all insisted that as a supreme being and father onto their children that he should have the grace to honor them by naming them himself. Therefore, the naming ceremony had become a national holiday all throughout the sorcerous kingdom. In said ceremony Ainz would present his offspring onto the world and let them know the name of a sure to be ruler in the future. The week leading up to the presentation and preparation would be filled with festivities in which he would invite the most influential people throughout the neighboring kingdoms and countries to pay their respects the newborn. Ainz broke the silence and spoke, countering her with a question.

-"Do you wish for our child to bear the last name of elfic royalty?"

A sour look appeared upon Aery's face. She had a conflict with her family name. She knew that not all elves were to blame for her father's idiocy and maliciousness. However, she could not simply shake the feelings of hatred that still lingered attached themselves onto that name.

-"I would rather not." She answered.

Ainz gazed at the baby in his hands for a moment, soundly sleeping but never letting go of her father's finger, and then turned to Aeryn.

-"Albedo was the same."

Aeryn cocked her head to the side as she thought that she misunderstood. Ainz chuckled for a moment but regained his composure.

-"My friend, her creator and father, Tabula Smaragdina disappeared along with the other 39 supreme beings… For a while, Albedo was unable to forget the pain that this caused her, and harbored dark feelings and attached them onto the name itself."

Aeryn opened her eyes wide in surprise. Though she knew that Albedo was the daughter of a supreme being, she had no idea that she felt the way she did up until now.

-"I am not one to think that the things your father did were forgivable in any way shape or form. However, I also think that we must always have a firm grip on our ancestry and past to know how to redirection ourselves in the future."

She looked down at her hands and thought about it. She knew that denying her child of her heritage would be short of what the Slane Theocracy had done with her, but she still had conflicted feelings about using that man's name and giving him any sort of credit for the beautiful and strong child she had just birthed.

Ainz broke the silence once more and spoke in a regal tone. "You have up until the naming ceremony to decide, but for now up until then, this child shall be known as Ragna Zi Brigitte Gown Drei".

At once, all the maids in the room fell to one knee as a sign of deep reverence.

"All hail mistress Ragna Zi Brigette Gown Drei!"
