《Eastern Sargon, 30 June XXXX》
"Everything ready?"
"Yup!"
"Awaiting your orders, Captain!"
"Alright, we're near the landing site. Buckle down your seatbelts." The pilot informed.
"Yes, sir."
"Why do I always the one who carries the backpack?!" A dark-haired feline operator complaints to the blue haired feline beside him.
"Don't worry, Derick. I'll pay a good meal once we're done." A female Sankta with long white hair replied, followed by a wink.
"C'mon Derick, it's not so bad being the carrier." Blue haired feline replied to him.
"Hell no, this is my 69th times being the backpack carrier." Derick fired.
"Chill out my guy. It's not like you get bumped into a giant tuskbeast." A lizard looking operator snorted.
"Don't jinx it, gregory." The Female Sankta chuckles.
"I hate you all."
They laughed upen hearing his response.
"Ma'am we're reaching the destination point." The pilot announced from the radio.
"Copy that, Tyler!"
The aircraft pilot circled the forest area to searched for an open area to land. The pilot eventually found an open area as he banked the aircraft towards the open area and landed.
The Female sankta slid the door open with a hard yank, grunting as she did, and hopped off. Her hair fluttered by the wind as the rotor blades slowed to a stop.
"Alright boys, let's look alive out there!" The Female Sankta exclaimed as she takes out .44 Magnum from her waist and rotates the cylinder.
"Yes, ma'am." They replied in unison.
They marched forward into the dense forest as sounds of small birds chirping their voices and snapped twigs can be heard through their ears as they embarked.
"Ugh... Forest.. Why forest of all places.."
"Stop with your mourning Derick, we ain't gonna get there if you keep mourning."
"How long until we get there anyway...?"
"Approximately, 2 hours." The Female Sankta replied as she looked at her phone that showed a map with red dot near the top.
"Ugghh..." Derick groaned.
"You've been quiet the entire time, Ross. What's on your mind? Gregory noticed The tall blue feline is rather quiet for most of the trip.
"Hm? No, it's nothing." He replied, his ears twitching a bit.
After another hour of walking through the dense jungle, they finally reached their destination. One of Rhodes Island facilities, sitting inside the rain forest with some spaces left behind to clear the view. A safe house that works as a supply provider for those in needs in these regions. But there's something odd about the safe house.
"Finally we're here! I'm tired carrying this heavy-duty backpack!" Derick exclaimed as he dropped the large backpack on the ground.
"Hmm, Strange.." The Female Sankta observed the place, and there were none of their members to be found.
"What's wrong, Captain Lynn?" Gregory inquired as he came to her side.
"This place looks empty. Where are the staffs that supposed to wait for us?" The Sankta named Lynn spoken. Her expression becames cautious.
"Maybe they took a shit or something?" Derick joked.
"Derick!" Ross shouted.
"We're not here for jokes."
"Alright Alright, I'm sorry." The male feline shuts his jokes.
"Let's check it out." The Female Sankta named Lynn, gestures towards her team to follow her as the trio did.
They stopped in front of a garage door of the factory. Lynn stroke the metal door with her index finger, and give it a little scrape in between her index finger and her thumb, she can feel the dust on her soft skin.
"Man.. This place looks abandoned as hell. You sure you made a call with them chief?" Derick commented, followed by a question.
"Last time i contacted with this office branch is 2 days ago..." Lynn answered, narrowing her eyebrows.
"Did they went somewhere?"
"That could be a possibility..." Ross can only scratch the back of his head.
"Hey." Everyone turns to Gregory
"The door is open." He stated as he points to the small gap at the door that's already opened.
Lynn opened the door fully as she gesture the trio to head inside the building slowly.
When they head inside, they were met by many leftover equipments that's still functional and operating. But surprisingly, the people they were supposed to meet aren't in this facility.
"Hello!" Derick put his hands around his mouth as he shouts.
No answer.
"There's nobody in here!" Derick stated as he expanded his arms in the air.
As Lynn searched throughout the facility, she found a radio that was still untouched. She heads towards it and tries to give it a go. It still working just fine.
"The radio is still working..." She states.
"And the transportation vehicle is still here. Which means they didn't leave the area." Derick said as he points towards a number of jeeps parking inside the big safe house.
While the others were looking, Ross notices there were a few CCTVs implemented on the corner of the safe house.
"Does the CCTV still works?" He asked, pointing at one of the CCTV. The red light on the camera beeps sequentially.
"Huh... why didn't we think of that?" Derick commented.
"Now where the hell is the surveillance room at?" Derick added.
"Guys, check this out." Lynn called over.
The trio headed towards Lynn to see she was holding a digital tablet that showed their current location from the point of view of the corner cam.
"...Hey, it's the view from the CCTV. See if there's any record left on them." The lizard-looking operator suggested.
"Hold on." Lynn fiddled with the tablet as she checks for any left behind records.
"Ah, there it is. It's from yesterday." Derick points at the video that labeled 29 June XXXX. Lynn clicked the video it and tries to speed it up a bit. Seems normal so far, the staff and watchmen is still there, doing their own stuff. After a moment, the camera suddenly went static.
"Whoa! What in the oblivion just happened?" Derick exclaimed.
A few moments later, the camera screen went back to normal, but what has caught their attention is that the staff and watchmen there disappeared from the camera view.
"What in God's name..." Lynn couldn't processed of what just happened.
"Huh..? Where'd they go..?" Ross questioned.
"Did the camera glitch or something..?"
"Oh lord! They turned into a poltergeist!"
"I don't think that's the case..." She puts down the tablet.
While the others are talking, Ross caught something in his nose as he sniffs the air.
"Wait... did you smell that?" Ross voice boomed, stopping their conversation.
Gregory sniffed the air as well. It reaches him.
"Yeah.. smells like someone has died..." He added.
"Ayo, come on man. Don't do that, that's not even funny." Derick complaint.
Ross take a step first to track where the smell came from, eventually he came across a staircase that has blood trail that lead to the upper level. The others followed soon after.
"All this blood..." Lynn sweatdropped.
"Holy cheese cakes..." Derick jaw dropped.
"..This isn't what I think it is..." The reek of blood is getting more sharper as the more they got close.
"..Should we follow it..?" Gregory suggest.
"...There could be one of the staff in there... if they're already dead.. we might have to report this to the higher ups." Lynn said.
Ross take the stairs and stops at the doorway. He reached out his hand, attempt to open the door but his hand is shaken quite a bit.
When he was about reach the doorknob, a hand stops him from behind.
"Let me open it." It was Lynn.
Lynn turn the doorknob and push the door softly as it reveals something out of a horror movie.
"..Oh my God.." Lynn closes her lip with her one hand as she stares with shock.
Derick and Gregory pretty much hold their mouth with their hand to prevent puking because of the scene.
It was indeed a scene that took straight from a horror movie. Blood was splattering everywhere, the glass, desks, walls, and the floors. There were also two bodies of the staff in this branch, their body's were split in half and their insides were scattered.
"They're all dead..." Ross were also in the same state as Lynn.
"I think I'm gonna puke.." Derick turns back, not wanting to look at the scenery.
"What do you think happened..?" Gregory asked, swaying his hand to prevent the smell from coming into his nose.
Lynn approached one of the bodies as she step through the pile of blood, crouching down and observed it. She found an ID card on that attached to it's chest pocket, she took it and observes it.
"Shelly..."
"Liberi..."
She shakes her followed by a sigh as she took the ID card.
"Poor girl..." She frowned.
Ross on the other hand, approaches the body that leans on the wall. He took his ID card and examines it.
"Leon..."
"Feline..."
"Shelly and Leon.. wait, I know these two." Gregory announced.
"What? What do you mean?" Lynn questioned, looking at Gregory.
"...I've met these two before. They were married before they were appointed at Rhodes Island. But I didn't think fate will turn them up like this..." He answered.
"Damn..." Derick shift his weight.
"Son of a bitch..." Lynn muttered as she stood up.
Ross pocketed the ID card before he stood up.
"What do we do know, Captain?" Gregory asked.
"..." Captain Lynn silent for a bit.
"Captain..?"
"There's not point of standing here... We have to report this back to HQ..." Lynn spoke.
"Understood."
"Roger that."
As they all about to left the room, derick's ears perked up, hearing something faint. Like someone muttering, it's faint but it's there. He went in to check the room again, in case he was hearing stuff.
"Derick, where are you going?" Gregory questioned.
He ignored his calls as derick examined the room once more. He starting to hear it more clearly. It's someone's cry. He walks over the shattered pile of as he approaches a rather large locker. He leaned his head forward and it becomes clear.
"Hey guys! There's someone in here!" He announced.
"Where?" Lynn and the others came over to derick's side.
"Right here." Derick point towards a large locker in front of him
Lynn grab both of the handle of the locker before she slides them open with her both hands. In that locker, a lupo boy is cowering in fear as he set eyes on her.
"A child...?!"
