I always figured that after the end of The Scarecrow, Feathertop, Polly and the others did stay in Swingtown for a while, but they do eventually travel...
As always, I don't own...
While Feathertop, Polly and the orphans were happy to rebuild Swingtown, they did want to explore the world outside the town. Polly and the kids were finally free, and Feathertop was just happy to see the world outside his field.
They loaded up a wagon and were ready for anything on this journey.
"This is... amazing!" Feathertop shouted out after a long time of being on the road.
"It is!" Polly agreed.
It only had been a few hours.
The girl Gretchen suddenly pointed out, practically hopping on Feathertop's back, "Look! A flower field!"
"Wow!" he said, wide-eyed.
Polly turned to the boys, "Would you like a break?"
Cooper and Farley cried out, "YES!"
And so, they took that break.
Feathertop had to admire to the flowers. So much color. So lovely. He's never seen anything like this before.
"Polly would like some," he told himself.
He started picking flowers, thinking only of Polly. Pink, orange, yellow. Too bad he had no idea what the flowers were called.
Soon, he had a bouquet for her.
That's when he accidently bumped into Polly, who was holding a bouquet of her own. With a laugh filled with love, they handed each other the flowers, much to each other's joy.
The laughter had caught the kids' attention, and they basically watch their adults, running and playing in the fields.
Farley had to ask, "Should... should we get them?"
Cooper answered, "Nah."
Gretchen added, "Life is good."
The boys had to agree to that.
The End
