This little story came to mind while listening to my eldest daughter telling me a story about a new doctor she works with and no Bella is not based on my daughter. This will be rated M for scattered lemons and words used. * I have borrowed names but do not own them, sadly*

Summary: Bella Swan is a new Registered nurse, just graduated top of her class. Dr. Sam Uley and Bella have been friends for a while now. prologue:

I met Dr C. Cullen. while on my rotation at the Er. He is very handsome, wonder if his son looks like him. Guess I will find out, soon enough. I hate first days at a new job. But, Monday starts my new position as a nurse at Sams office. He said that I would rotate from the office to the urgent care, depending on how backed up they are. He warned me about Dr E. Cullen and how big of a flirt he was. He had already warned the other nurses. I was behind the receptionist desk, pulling files for Sam. When this gorgeous man walked in the front door. I looked up when the bell went off and he gave me this nod and a smile. I smiled back. Yep, he looks like his father. He's tall and blonde with some red tint and breathtakingly green/emerald eyes. I ducked down, behind the desk and giggled, like a little girl. Our receptionist/Rachel just held my shoulder and whispered "holy fuck" and I laughed. I did nod and said "yep" Later, that afternoon, we had a meeting with the new Dr and all the nurses and aids, including the lab staff, etc. We went around the table introducing ourselves. He introduced himself as Edward Cullen. He had transferred from the large hospital in Seattle to our little town of Forks. He wanted to be closer to his family. When I introduced my self. he snapped his head up and looked into my eyes. and then smiled. He then looked back down, at his paper and started writing something. then looked back up at me, smiled and shook his head. After our meeting, Dr Cullen, Edward, as he asked me to call him. Offered to buy me lunch. But I just said "rain check?" and he accepted.

Chapter 1

Rain Check

Tuesday was a bitch. We were busy on both sides, office and Urgent Care. I was being thrown in both directions, as needed. By the end of the day I was exhausted. Dr Cullen walked over to me, put his hand on the small of my back and whispered "rain check?" I nodded. When we both clocked out, for the day, we met outside and walked to his car. "Well Isabella, since it is now dinner time, would you rather us grab a nice dinner, instead of a lunch?" "Yes, Dr Cullen, dinner sounds nice, but please call me Bella" "OK, but only if you call me Edward" "But Dr., um Edward it will feel awkward calling you Edward, at work."then call me Dr at work and Edward once we are off the clock" "Bella?, how old are you?" He might not want to see someone as young as me. Our conversation continued on the way to dinner. "so, Bella? Anyone steady in your life?" "nope, you?" We arrived at a quaint Italian place. It was nice and the staff was extremely prompt and curteous. While we were there. I heard Edward say, under his breath," Shit".

I turned to see what he was upset about and then I saw this woman, with blonde hair walk in. I looked at Edward "Ex? and he nodded. then he said "the bitch is walking over here, hang on"

As we were finishing up our meal Edward asked "Bella would you like to come back to my place, for a drink?" "hmmm, I don't know" "Well, I could take you home if you prefer, but I live right down the road, so it's not far, from here" " it's just a drink,I'll take you home afterwards. I'm not asking you to run away with me, yet" I repeated "yet?" and he smiled, "never mind" We stood, He grabbed my sweater, off my chair, put it over my shoulders and we walked out, his arm around my shoulders. Chapter 2

new beginning

We arrived at his place. It was a condo, very nice curb appeal. It was very nicely done, inside. Very calm colors. Neutral colors.

He said his mother and sister decorated his place. They opted for neutral wall colors so it would go with whatever furniture he decided on. There was a HUGE TV hanging over the fireplace. Bella called her and begged her to come in so we could figure out what was making her sick, but Bella said Emily told her that she knew why she didn't feel good. She thinks she's pregnant. Lord, if she is pregnant then Sam might not be coming to the office, very often. But that's OK with me. I could steal more Bella time, alone. Meaning without Bellas' keeper watching her like a hawk. The rest of the week went by like every other day. Bella did end up buying more scrubs and one she chose was the prettiest, to me, on her. It was a dark blue pant and a blue floral top that she chose to go with the pants. I liked the lavender set she bought also. Hell, she could wear anything and I'd like it. She is so beautiful, to me. I was really looking forward to this weekend. We both needed it. Her schedule was having her bouncing back and forth from the main office to urgent care, down the hall. Were Edward and I that obvious? He told me what Sam said to him and then the questions the patient asked me had me wondering, maybe we weren't as casual as I thought. New feelings

Chapter 7

The fall

Meeting the new member

coming home

Chapter 10

The letter

The 3rd day Bella woke up to Lizzy 'talking' from her crib. Bella had finally gotten herself and Lizzy into a routine that worked for them. Bella would wake up to LIzzy in the mornings. then Bella would nurse Lizzy and Lizzy usually fell back to sleep for another hour. Then around noon'ish Bella would nurse again. Then Lizzy would have 'tummy time' for about an hour. Bella always played music in the background. And it was always showtunes. Which Lizzy seemed to like. By the time Edward would return home, from work Bella would have a nice, leasurely dinner made and could sit down with Edward and they would talk about their days. Chapter 11

Birthday surprise

The morning of her birthday, Bella woke up smiling. She was looking forward to the shopping trip. Edward had given her his credit card, a black one, with no limit, to spend as she wanted. Bella wasn't comfortable using it, but he insisted. He told her "no buying Lizzy anything, it's your birthday spend it on you and he kissed her nose. She smiled, hung her head and said "OK" But Bella and Edward, both, knew that if she saw something, anything that would be perfect for Lizzy she would buy it.

Alice came by to pick up Bella and the baby. They were going back to the Cullen house to leave the baby with Esme. Bella was nervous, even though she trusted Esme this will be the first time she is leaving the baby. Bella teard up when they left the house. She kissed the baby several times before actually leaving. She actually would turn around and go back to kiss her again. Bella didn't ever want Lizzy to think Bella was abandoning her, like her mother did to her and Charlie. Esme promised Bella, several times, if anything went wrong or she had questions she would call, immediately. Bella knew that Esme was more than capable since she had raised 3 kids of her own and she was a retired nurse. Bella, sighed and teared up more when they got in the car. Bella suggested they take her new SUV instead, insisting they would be more comfortable in her car than Alice's little car. Bella even told Alice that she could drive. But Alice wouldn't budge.

Alice took Bella to an upscale clothing store and helped her chose some new things. Bella bought a pair of tight jeans and a beautiful blouse and a pair of flats, even though Alice tried talking Bella into a pair of 2in heels. But Bella knew even at that slight of a heel she would trip and fall. Alice had Bella try on a pair and walk around the store in them. Bella did alright, but was unsteady and unsure so opted for the flats instead. Rose bought herself a beautiful dress and some jewlery. Apparently Emmett gave Rose a card to use also. Bella just smiled. Bella and Rose got along well. By the time they were finished shopping Bella had gasped at the amount of money she spent, claiming Edward was going to be furious at the amount she spent, Alice assured her that Edward would not be mad. Bella spent over $1,200. For a few items. Bella sent Edward a text "Sorry, babe, you should have never given me usuage of your card, I went crazy. The girls decided to drop their bags into Alice's car and head to the small diner, across the road from the clothing store. While in there, the bitch walked in. With that they paid the bill and headed home. Bella was tired and wanted to be with Lizzy, she missed her.

Bella ran up the porch steps into the Cullen house and snatched Lizzy up from her port-a-crib she was laying in. She hugged her, and swung around, kissing her and crying "I'm sorry I took so long baby girl but, Lizzy I will never leave you so long again. If I do I will always, always come home to you. Just remember I love you with my whole heart. Esme just stood there eyebrow furrowed and Alice just shrugged. They had only been gone for 2 hours.

Esme mentioned to Edward the way Bella had acted when she came to get Lizzy. Edward explained to Esme the thing Bellas mother did to her, and Charlie. Esme felt bad, then. "Oh, Edward, it was so sad. Bella made promises to Lizzy about never leaving her and made promises to always come back for her. Edward said "yeah, her mother really messed her up" Bella thinks she is a bad mom because I fussed at her for falling asleep while LIzzy nursed. She cried and said she was a shitty mom. I felt horrible after that. I will never critisize Bella again, when it comes to Lizzy.

Alice dropped Bella and Lizzy back at their house. Bella fed Lizzy then placed her in her crib to take a nap. Bella went to her room, and noticed something on her bed. There was a gorgeous lavender formal dress, it was surrounded by rose petals and a note. Hope you like the dress as much as i did when I saw it on a manequin in the store window. When Alice arrived, Edward and Bella left, for Seattle, and their night out. Bella insisted that Alice send her a text and/or a picture of Lizzy every 5 minutes. So Alice did as she was asked. Every 5 minutes. Bella's phone would ping with a text or a picture of Lizzy. Edward would smile and shake his head. Bella would proudly hold up the picture of Lizzy to show Edward. Edward mentioned "Bella we need to do family pictures." "YES!" They arrived at the theatre just in time for the last call. Bella was in awe at the inside of the theatre. it was breath taking. LIke stepping into another time period. Bella was smiling the entire time of the performance. She never let go of Edwards arm. every so often she would grasp his arm then sigh and lay her head on his arm. Without realizing what she was doing, she had started rubbing Edwards thigh. Edward leaned his head down and whispered "Bella, babe. chapter 12

another year later

it was Bella and Edwards 1 year wedding anniversary. Edward wanted to do something special. But had no idea what. Esme suggested the cabin. Edward did like that since that is where their adventure started. So, Esme and Alice decided to go there and clean and fix it up for their arrival.

Bella decided to work 2 half days a week and Sam was OK with that. They had hired a new nurse while she was out on maternity leave. The new nurse was a male which made Bella smile.

When she arrived home, from work. Edward was on the sofa, holding Lizzy and feeding her parts of his grilled cheese. Lizzy was walking now and she was easier to take care of. And she could talk like an adult. She sounded like a toddler but never talked like a baby. Not as fragile and Bella was ready to share her with another child. She mentioned to Edward that she really wanted another baby. Edward was skeptical. But if Bella got pregnant then so be it. Edward believed in 'things happen for a reason' Bella smiled and walked over to Lizzy who handed Bella a piece of the sandwich. Bella pretended to eat it. Lizzy giggled about it. Her eyes were odd,one eye was green, the other brown. it was different. But also everyone would notice and comment on the coloring. Her hair was getting lighter as she got older. And it was thick, like Bellas. Long and full of curls. Bella couldn't believe that Lizzy was already a toddler, the time went too fast.

Edward told Bella they were going to the cabin for their anniversay weekend. and they were taking LIzzy unless she wanted to leave her with his parents. Bella agreed to leave her with his parents. She wasn't as nervous as she used to be.

Bella was looking forward to going to the cabin, again. It felt like their place. Like their private, secret place. No one knew about it or where it was except for his parents, of course. Bella was going to mention to Edward that she really wanted their own place. Not his condo. She wanted something of their own. He had that condo since his divorce from Tanya.

Bella ran upstairs to pack an overnight bag. She didn't pack anything to sleep in. It was going to be a naked weekend. After she was ready, to leave, she hollered for Edward. "Edward?, I'm ready and so is Lizzy" Bella had packed 2 outfits for Lizzy and threw in Lizzy's favorite stuffy to sleep with. They all went to the car. Lizzy climbed in her booster seat and clicked herself in. "Ready, momma, let's go. I'm ready to stay with gramma and grandpa" Bella turned in her seat "Are you going to miss me and Daddy?" "Yes, but I have a lot of fun when Aunt Alice and Uncle Emmett are there, too. Uncle Emmett throws me upside down on the sofa and it makes Gramma mad but Grandpa just says "It's OK Esme, let them be and it makes me and Uncle Emmett laugh." When they arrived at the Cullen house Lizzy jumped out of the car and ran up the steps to the house. She went flying into the house and they could hear her yell "GRAMMA, GRANDPA, I'M HERE! About that time they heard her make a loud shrill scream. Edward went running. Emmett had LIzzy upside down and had thrown her on the sofa, Like she had told them, in the car. Edward yelled "EMMETT CULLEN, DON'T DO THAT" and both Lizzy and Emmett rolled their eyes and laughed. "Emmett you could break her neck if she landed the wrong way" "Daddy, I'm fine. I land a 10 everytime. Edward tried not to smile but he couldn't help it. Lizzy made him so damn happy. Even if she was a little dare devil. Just like Bella, Edward would do and give Lizzy anything she wanted. Yes, she was spoiled but not a brat about it. She was a very polite young lady and loved shopping with her Aunt Alice. Lizzy was also extremely smart.

Edward and Bella arrived at the cabin right before lunch. When they walked in the cabin there were flowers and candles everywhere. Even lunch had been made and in the fridge for them to warm up. They were both hungry and decided to warm up the lunch meal that Esme had in the fridge for them. Chicken alfredo and two salads were waiting for them. Esme was a wonderful cook. While eating their lunch. Bella reached across the table and grabbed Edwards hand. "Edward?" "yeah babe?" "Um, I'm going to have another baby" "Really?, when are you due?" "This time I'm due in June" "A summer baby" "Are you happy?" "Bella if you are happy then I'm happy" So, Lizzy is going to be a big sister?" "yep, hope she will be happy and not upset about it

Edward sat back and thought about how far his life has some since he met Bella that day at work. In the conference room.

"OH and Edward?" "I think we need to buy us a bigger house and one of our own" "yeah, not a bad idea" "There is a new housing development going up, down the road from the condo. We can start there."

Bella and Edward spent the weekend. Naked, and full of laughter. They had sex in almost every surface of that place. And Shower sex many, many times. Bella was so in love and nothing was going to change that, she hoped. Bella made a mental plan, every year, if possible, they would make the cabin thier destination, it felt right.
