Morning had arrived, and sitting on the floor was Lucy's younger brother Linus, trying his hardest to tie his shoes.

"I've never understood how little kids learn to tie their shoes…." Linus groaned.

Linus tried everything he could to tie his shoes.

"It's really easy. After a while, it becomes almost automatic….. UNLESS YOU THINK ABOUT IT!"

All Linus could do was try tying his shoes until Lucy Van Pelt came in, seeing her brother failing to tie his shoes. All she could do was chuckle.

"Okay, what's so funny, Big Sister?"

"You've forgotten how to tie your shoes!" guffawed Lucy.

"Hmm…. I could try wearing the shoes Fred Flintstone wears." Suggested Linus.

Lucy, knowing who Linus was talking about, got down, and pulled both Linus' shoes and socks off.

"There you go!" smiled Lucy. "Now you're wearing the shoes Fred Flintstone wears!

"But you….." Linus started, but then he remembered. "Oh yeah. I forgot. Fred Flintstone doesn't wear shoes."

"And by the way, I see you don't have your security blanket. Wow! My little brother is growing up!" smiled Lucy.

"Actually, I'm lending it to Janice." Said Linus. "She's going to give it back later today."

Just as Linus had said this, the telephone rang. Because Lucy and Linus were up in Linus' room, Lucy's even younger brother Rerun had to answer the phone.

"Hello?" asked Rerun as he answered the phone.

On the phone, was Charlie Brown's favourite little sister Sally.

"Hello. Is this Linus speaking?" asked Sally.

"No. It's his little brother Rerun."

"Oh. Is my sweet babboo there?"

"No. we don't have a monkey here." Rerun answered, still not understanding Sally's affectionate term for his brother.

"Monkey? No, not 'baboon', 'babboo'. It's my endearing way of addressing Linus. Ask him if he wants to take me to a movie today." Said Sally.

Rerun left the phone on, and went up to his brother's room.

"Linus. Sally's on the phone, and she wants you to take her to a movie."

"Tell her I'm not her sweet babboo. And I wouldn't invite her to a rocket launch." Linus said angrily.

Rerun went back to the phone and continued to talk to Sally.

"He says he's not your sweet babboo." Replied Rerun.

"He is, but he isn't, but he is." Said Sally as Rerun hung up on her.

"So Sally. What did Linus say?" asked Charlie Brown.

"His brother answered the phone." Replied Sally.

"Maybe Linus is too busy monkeying around to take you to a movie."

"No, no, no! Not sweet "baboon"! "Babboo"! "Babboo"! Do you hear me, Big Brother?"

"Oh, Babboo. That's a little something I can use for the Little Red-Haired Girl." Suggested Charlie Brown, wishing said redhead would call him that term. "Thanks for the tip, Sally."

"Do what you will, Big Brother." Said Sally. "But I'm not going to rest until my sweet babboo agrees to take me out!"

The telephone rang, and Sally answered it.

"Hello?"

"I AM NOT YOUR SWEET BABBOO! And I wouldn't take you to a demolition derby!"

Linus immediately hung up after delivering that message.

"Isn't he the cutest thing?" Sally swooned.

Later, Charlie Brown went down to the empty football field and as usual, Lucy was there holding the football.

"There you are, Charlie Brown." Smirked Lucy. "Are you ready to kick the football?"

"Oh no you don't, Lucy!" shouted Charlie Brown. "Because every time we do this, you pull the football away from me."

"It won't happen this time, trust me, Charlie Brown." Lucy lied.

"Oh you won't be the one holding the football this time, Lucille!" called a voice.

"Lucille?!"

The voice came from none other than Peppermint Patty.

"You won't be doing the football stuff this time, Lucille." Said Peppermint Patty sternly. "Chuck told me about your antics, and I'll be the one holding the football this time."

"Rats!" Lucy grumbled as she walked away.

"Alright, Chuck! I'll hold the football for you." said Peppermint Patty. "Are you ready?"

"Are you sure about this, Peppermint Patty?" Charlie Brown asked.

"Trust me, Chuck!"

"If you say so, Patty." Sighed Charlie Brown.

Charlie Brown walked far away, and was preparing to kick the football. Just then, who should come down but Peppermint Patty's best friend Marcie.

"Er, Sir? What are you doing?" Marcie asked her friend.

"Not now, Marcie!" said Peppermint Patty. "I'm getting Chuck to kick the football!"

"But Sir. A football game is about to start!"

"Really?! Well, we'd best clear the way for the players."

Peppermint Patty, after hearing Marcie's words, picked up the football, and just as she did this, Charlie Brown flew into the air, screaming, and landed on the path, ending up unconscious.

Peppermint Patty and Marcie were walking along the path when they saw Charlie Brown, laying down on the ground.

"Hey! There's Chuck! Chuck? Are you alright?" begged Peppermint Patty. "Sorry for not letting you kick the football!"

Peppermint Patty saw that Charlie Brown was unresponsive.

"Chuck? Chuck?"

"I think he's unconscious, Sir." Suggested Marcie.

"You know what that means! You can take his position on his baseball team!" smirked Peppermint Patty.

"No thanks, Sir." Replied Marcie. "I hate baseball, Sir. We need to get Charles to the doctor, Sir."

"Very well, but on one condition."

"What?"

"Quit calling me Sir!" shouted Peppermint Patty, hating it when Marcie used that masculine term on her.

"If you insist, Ma'am." Replied Marcie.

Peppermint Patty just rolled her eyes, and the two best friends walked to the nearest phone booth.

Just as the two girls walked away, walking past him was Janice Emmons, Linus' friend. Because she had beaten her cancer, she was wearing an orange shirt that says "LEUKEMIA SURVIVOR". She was carrying Linus' security blanket. Janice took no notice of Charlie Brown, and was focusing her attention on giving the blanket back to Linus. She found Linus at the park.

"Hi Janice!" cried Linus.

"Hey Linus." Replied Janice. "This blanket of yours is very soft and comfortable. It makes me feel more secure."

"Hey. Anything to keep my cancer-surviving friend secure!"

Unbeknownst to Linus or Janice, there, watching from behind a tree, was Sally Brown. She watched as Janice gave the security blanket back to Linus and kissed him on the cheek. Linus blushed upon this.

"Thank you for lending it to me, Sweet Babboo." Janice smiled.

"HE'S NOT YOUR SWEET BABBOO!"

"Er, who was that?" asked Janice suspiciously.

"Oh, you were just hearing voices in your head." Linus replied.

Charlie Brown continued to lay unconscious when everything faded into fantasy….

Charlie Brown was in the classroom, fast asleep when he heard a trombone voice.

"Oh! Er, yes, Mrs. Donovan! I'm awake, Mrs. Donovan!"

Charlie Brown overheard the trombone noise.

"Go on an adventure? Oh yes. I remember now!"

Charlie Brown walked up to Mrs. Donovan and saw the reason she is always heard like a trombone. She was indeed a trombone!

"Huh?! Mrs. Donovan? A trombone with a plunger? I must be dreaming! I'd better see the school nurse."

Charlie Brown went to the school nurse and was most surprised to see she was a trombone too.

"What?! All the school staff are trombones!"

Charlie Brown walked out of his school, and there, waiting for him, was his favourite little sister Sally, along with their lovable hound Snoopy.

"Hey, Big Brother. What are you doing out here?" Sally asked him.

"Mrs. Donovan is a trombone, and so is the school nurse." Said Charlie Brown.

"I have the same problem!" replied Sally. "Miss Othmar has turned into a trombone too! I bet our parents are trombones too."

"Well, Mrs. Donovan has sent me out on an adventure."

"What adventure is that?"

"To find that Little Red-Haired Princess." Sighed Charlie Brown.

"Well what are we waiting for? Let's go find that princess!"

Charlie Brown, Sally, and Snoopy set out on their adventure. But their first stop was in an open space, and there, holding the football, was Lucy Van Pelt.

"Oh, hey Charlie Brown. Hey, Sally!" smiled Lucy.

"Oh, not this again!" said Charlie Brown. "Every time we do this, you pull the football away!"

"Trust me, Charlie Brown!" lied Lucy.

"Okay, Lucy. If you insist." Charlie Brown gave in.

Charlie Brown ran as far away as he could, preparing to run. Just as he started running, Woodstock flew on top of Lucy's head, placed his beak on Lucy's forehead, and kissed her. Lucy, upon seeing Woodstock kissing her, groaned in disgust.

"Ugh! I've been kissed by a bird! Blah! Ew! Poison bird lips! Gross! Get some hot water! Get some disinfectant! Get some antidote!"

Lucy ran away in disgust, allowing Charlie Brown to kick the football as far as the moon.

"I did it! I did it! I kicked the ball! I actually succeeded at kicking the football!"

"That was just dumb luck, Big Brother." Huffed Sally. "You only kicked it because Woodstock kissed Lucy."

"Nevertheless, let's continue on our quest." Said Charlie Brown.

Snoopy knew just how to help out. He whirled his ears like a helicopter blade, and both Charlie and Sally Brown grabbed both his hind legs, thus helicoptering them to their first destination.

The first destination was the jungle. Both Charlie Brown and Sally were wearing explorer outfits they somehow changed into. Charlie Brown's was yellow, while Sally's was pink.

"We're in the jungle." Said Charlie Brown. "Where are we going to find clues on how to find the Little Red-Haired Princess?"

"I just wanna find where Linus is." Said Sally.

Charlie Brown got out a pair of binoculars, and searched around for some clues, but ended up finding a familiar-looking baboon holding a light blue blanket and wearing a red and white striped shirt.

"I found a monkey carrying a security blanket and sucking his tail." Said Charlie Brown.

"Blanket? Sucking?"

Sally ran to the tree where the Linus-like baboon was, and called for him to come down. But Sally was more than lucky. The branch the baboon was on snapped, and the baboon fell right into Sally's arms. Sally started to carry the baboon bridal-style.

"Hey! You remind me of Linus."

Sally hugged the baboon.

"Aaugh! I'm in the arms of a ditz!" the baboon grunted.

"He talks!"

"Of course I can talk, Sally!"

"And he knows my name too!"

"I'm Linus Van Pelt!"

"So you're Linus!"

Sally, after realising that the baboon was Linus, hugged him even tighter.

"Aw, my sweet baboon!"

"I am not your sweet baboon!"

"Isn't he the cutest monkey?"

"Now now, you two!" called Charlie Brown. "This is no time for arguments! We have to find the Little Red-Haired Princess!"

"Alright then. Come on, Sweet Baboon!" cried Sally. "We're going on an adventure!"

"I am not your sweet baboon!" Linus groaned.

"I just remembered something." Charlie Brown said suddenly. "Snoopy's a hound. He should be able to…. Search for clues! Come on, Snoop!"

Snoopy ran off and changed into his detective outfit and started searching for clues with his magnifying glass.

"Why can't I have a normal dog?" sighed Charlie Brown.

Snoopy continued to search, and made his growling sound.

"Snoopy's found something! Come on, Sally and Linus!"

Snoopy propelled his ears again, and both Charlie Brown and Sally grabbed hold of the hound's hind legs. Sally held on with her left, but her right hand carried Linus, her sweet baboon.

Moments later, the four had reached the beach. Charlie and Sally somehow changed into their swimwear.

"The beach?" exclaimed Charlie Brown. "Why would the Little Red-Haired Princess be at the beach?"

"Perhaps she enjoys taking vacations by the sea?" came a voice.

There, walking sideways towards them, was a blue crab, with a very crabby looking face, and black hair.

"I don't know about you three," said Charlie Brown. "but this crab looks uncannily familiar."

"Okay! What kind of blockheads say I'm uncannily familiar?" shouted the crab.

"Aw, a talking crab!" said Sally. "Kind of reminds me of…."

"Lucy!"

"Well, that's because I am Lucy." The crab answered.

"My sister? A crab?" exclaimed Linus.

"Of course I'm a crab!" cried Lucy. "And what are you blockheads doing on the beach?"

"We're on a quest to find the Little Red-Haired Princess." Replied Charlie Brown.

"Well you won't find her here, you blockhead!" yelled Lucy. "She's not a mermaid!"

"Wow! I knew Lucy was crabby," chuckled Sally. "but I never thought she would be crabby in this way!"

"Very funny, Sally!" huffed Lucy.

"Any more clues, Snoop?" asked Charlie Brown.

Snoopy continued to find clues, but not without kissing Lucy the Crab.

"Ugh! I've been kissed by a hound! Ah! Dog germs!" cried Lucy.

"Blegh!"

Snoopy stuck his tongue out in disgust after realising he'd kissed a crab.

"I oughta pinch you!"

Lucy jumped up and pinched Snoopy's nose, causing him to scream in pain.

"Okay! Okay! Break it up, you two!" demanded Charlie Brown. "Snoop, let's find more clues!"

Snoopy continued to search for clues on the whereabouts of the Little Red-Haired Princess, and after finding some, he yet again propelled himself in the air, with Charlie and Sally Brown holding both his hind legs, Linus holding Sally's shoulders, and Lucy holding Linus' tail. Linus couldn't bear his sister pinching his tail with her pincers.

"The sooner we find this Little Red-Haired Princess, the better." Sighed Charlie Brown.

"At least you got me, Sweet Baboon." Smiled Sally.

"I am not your sweet baboon!" groaned Linus.

The gang had soon arrived on a farm. Somehow, Charlie Brown and Sally Brown had changed into farmer's outfits. Charlie's shirt was yellow, and Sally's was blue.

"There's something weird about this quest for the Little Red-Haired Princess." Said Charlie Brown.

"Yeah! Why would she be at a farm?" asked Sally. "She's a princess, not a farmer's daughter!"

Snoopy found a flock of sheep, and strangely, the sheep were carrying a lamb, but there was something peculiar about this lamb. This lamb had short black hair and wore thick opaque glasses.

"There's something intriguing about this lamb." Thought Charlie Brown.

"Oh, how cute! A lamb cake!" smiled Sally sweetly.

"Hey! Who are you calling 'Lamb Cake'?" demanded the lamb.

"You, Lamb Cake!" answered Sally.

"First Floyd calls me "Lamb Cake", and now Charles' sister does the same thing."

Charlie Brown suddenly realised.

"Marcie? Is that you?"

"Yes it is, Charles." Answered the lamb.

"First Linus becomes a baboon, then Lucy becomes a crab, and now Marcie becomes a lamb cake. We could get some help from a little lamb cake." Sighed Charlie Brown.

"While we're here, we can look at the cute little farm animals! Cried Sally excitedly.

"If you insist, Little Sister." Charlie Brown sighed.

The gang looked around the barnyard, and they came across all kinds of pigs with a familiar face in the pen with the pigs. It's the very kid who always gets dirty no matter how clean he gets.

"Pig-Pen?!" exclaimed Charlie Brown.

"Oh, hi Charlie Brown." Said Pig-Pen. "And Sally."

"Is this why you're called "Pig-Pen"?" chuckled Charlie Brown.

"It is. I spend most of my time with the pigs."

"Anyway, we're on a quest to find the Little Red-Haired Princess. Any clues?" asked Charlie Brown.

"If she's a princess," suggested Pig-Pen. she should be in a castle."

This gave Charlie Brown the obvious clue.

Snoopy did his helicopter routine again, and this time, Charlie Brown held Marcie the Lamb Cake in his left arm. Pigpen grabbed hold of Snoopy's tail.

While hovering in the air with his ears, Snoopy thought and thought about what Pigpen had said. So Snoopy hovered his ears and arrived at the castle where the Little Red-Haired Princess could be. Lucy the Crab let go of Linus the Baboon's tail. Somehow, Charlie Brown and Sally had changed back to their normal outfits.

"Good grief that was painful!" groaned Linus. "Now's your chance, Charlie Brown!"

Charlie walked over to the castle, and called out the name of the Little Red-Haired Princess.

"Princess Heather! It is I, Charles Brown."

Charlie Brown looked up even higher to see that there was indeed a Little Red-Haired Princess, with her hair in a flip-style and wearing a turquoise gown and an aquamarine hennin.

"Oh, Sir Charlie Brown! I'm glad you've made it!" Princess Heather called.

The drawbridge was lowered, and the entire gang entered. Charlie, Sally, Linus, Lucy, Snoopy, Marcie and Pigpen all searched for the Little Red-Haired Princess' room. Lucy heard the sound of Beethoven music coming from one of the rooms. She snuck into the room she heard it in, and inside the room, there was Schroeder playing his piano with Frieda listening to him play.

"If that naturally curly haired blockhead thinks she can get Schroeder's attention," thought Lucy. "then she should think again!"

Lucy snuck up on Frieda, and pinched her leg. Frieda reacted with a loud scream.

"AAAAAUGH! I've been pinched!"

Frieda looked down at the crab Lucy.

"Ow! I've been pinched by a crab! Ouch! Next thing you know, she'll cut my naturally curly hair!"

As Frieda ran away, Lucy crawled up onto the piano to try attracting Schroeder's attention.

"Oh, Schroeder!" smirked Lucy. "Since you won't be able to love a girl with naturally curly hair, perhaps you'd fall for a crabby old crab like me."

Lucy puckered up, and kissed Schroeder's nose.

"UUUUGH! My nose touched crab lips!" cried Schroeder. "Augh! I've been poisoned! Poison crab lips!"

Schroeder ran away and was surprised to see….

"Charlie Brown?! What are you doing here?" he asked.

"I'm here to meet the Little Red-Haired Princess." Replied Charlie Brown.

"You're out of luck, Charlie Brown." Said Schroeder. "A brave knight has come to meet her."

"What?! A knight is here already?" exclaimed Charlie Brown. "And the Little Red-Haired Princess is with the knight now?!"

Charlie Brown, Sally, Snoopy, Linus, Lucy and Marcie waited for the Little Red-Haired Princess to come down from her room. Soon, the Little Red-Haired Princess and the knight came to the floor the gang were on.

"Brave, Sir Knight." Said Princess Heather. "Would you remove your helmet?"

The knight took off the helmet and….

"Peppermint Patty?!" thought Charlie Brown.

"Greetings, Fair Little Red-Haired Princess. Said the knight. "It is I, Sir Peppermint Patty. And I have been sent to invite you to my kingdom. Does anyone here object?"

"Er…. No…. Sir." Said Charlie Brown.

"Is it you, Chuck, who wanted to meet this fair Little Red-Haired Princess?" asked Sir Peppermint Patty.

"Um… Yes, Peppermint Patty." Stammered Charlie Brown.

"Yes, 'Sir'!" everyone else demanded.

"Oh, good grief!" sighed Charlie Brown, rolling his eyes.

"Bad show, Chuck. Have you been looking for this princess?" Sir Peppermint Patty asked him.

"Yes, Sir. He has." Answered Marcie.

"'Sir' Peppermint Patty?" exclaimed Princess Heather, confused. "But…. You're a girl!"

"Oh, I'm more than a girl. I'm a tomboy." Smiled Peppermint Patty. Then she turned to Charlie Brown.

"And you, Chuck, are too late to meet this princess. I shall be bringing her to my humble kingdom where….."

"No! You can't! You can't take the Little Red-Haired Princess from me, Sir! No! Without her, I will be unhappy for the rest of my life!"

Charlie Brown groaned, not wanting Sir Peppermint Patty to take his Little Red-Haired Princess away from him. Suddenly, everything went back to reality.

Charlie Brown was laying in a hospital bed with Peppermint Patty, in her fuchsia gym leotard, telling Charlie Brown to wake up.

"Chuck! Chuck! Charlie Brown! Wake up! Chuck! Are you awake?"

Charlie Brown woke immediately.

"Yes, Sir! I'm awake, Sir!" Charlie Brown exclaimed.

"'Sir'?! Chuck, really!"

Peppermint Patty was surprised. Of all the people who would call her "Sir", she never thought it would be Good Old Charlie Brown.

"Oh, Peppermint Patty!" sighed Charlie Brown with relief. "But you were a knight, Linus was a baboon, Marcie was a lamb cake, and Lucy was a crab! And you saved the Little Red-Haired Princess from a castle!"

"You must've been dreaming, Chuck." Said Peppermint Patty. "And I'm sorry for causing this to happen to you, Chuck. Marcie reminded me there was a football game going on yesterday."

Snoopy walked in, ready to see if Charlie Brown was still unconscious, but much to his disappointment, his owner had woken up.

"Sorry, Snoop. Maybe next time." Smiled Charlie Brown.

Snoopy growled angrily and walked out of the hospital.

"So how long have I been in here?" asked Charlie Brown.

"Since yesterday." Said Peppermint Patty. "Marcie and I went to call the hospital, an ambulance came and took you here."

"And where is Marcie, anyway?" asked Charlie Brown.

"Right here, Charles."

There was Marcie. Dressed in a red leotard because it was time to do gym.

"Come on, Chuck. Now that you're awake, let's hit the gym."

Peppermint Patty held both her hands out, and Charlie Brown grabbed both of them.

"You're holding both my hands, Chuck. You sly dog."

Charlie Brown just rolled his eyes.

As Charlie Brown walked with Peppermint Patty and Marcie to the gym, they asked him what his dream was like.

"So what was your dream like, Charles?" asked Marcie.

"I was in this weird little world, where all the adults were muted trombones," Charlie Brown began. "and I was on an adventure to find the Little Red-Haired Girl. And then Linus was a baboon, Lucy was a crab, and you two were there too. Peppermint Patty, you were a brave knight known as 'Sir Peppermint Patty'."

"'Sir' Peppermint Patty?! Sir?!" And Marcie burst out laughing.

"And Marcie, you were a lamb cake." Charlie Brown continued.

"Ha…. Lamb cake?!" exclaimed Marcie.

Marcie was surprised to hear the boy she'd always been fond of call her a lamb cake.

"It was during a quest to find the cute Little Red-Haired Girl." Finished Charlie Brown.

"Come on, Chuck. I might not be as cute as that Little Red-Haired Girl, I may not have naturally curly hair like Frieda, and I may not be as smart as Marcie, but I'm in shape." Smiled Peppermint Patty.

"There you go again with your imperfections, Sir." Sighed Marcie.

"Stop calling me Sir."

"Yes, Ma'am."

Peppermint Patty rolled her eyes again.

"And Charles, the only thing I have that Peppermint Patty, Frieda and that Little Red-Haired Girl don't is book smarts. Okay, maybe the Little Red-Haired Girl has book smarts, but still.

And Marcie thought to herself.

"I guess Charles will never fall for a girl who wears glasses like me…."

Oh, Marcie. I'm pretty sure Charlie Brown would still love Heather even if she wore glasses.
