Special Containment Procedures: Containment procedures will differ for each different personification of SCP-9683 to fit certain needs. During transportation, any entities of SCP-9683 are to be accompanied at all times by four specially trained bodyguards to prevent any attacks on SCP-9683 when it is travelling.

While all entities of SCP-9683 have the anomalous ability of regenerative and accelerated healing, dangerous attacks such as memetic agents and mythological weapons can cause lasting harm towards the personifications.

To prevent suspicion around the personifications, only the head of government and a select handful of government servants are the only members of the public who can know the secret behind SCP-9683, and all traces of any SCP-9683 existing have been expunged in all historical records apart from several records and files located in Foundation databases.

All researchers of SCP-9683 will be assigned to a continent and all report back to Dr. Malakai Ordell who will oversee all reports, experiments and other matters of SCP-9683. Personal also will be sent to work with a group of around three to five SCP-9683 instances to lessen the workload between staff.

Description: SCP-9683 is a collection of human personifications of countries that have the same exact biology and physiology of a normal human, its anomalous abilities and traits only setting SCP-9683 apart from other humans. It's main anomalous feature is existing as living personifications and representatives of current existing countries. There are currently 204 recorded instances of SCP-9683 to this date, the latest one recorded to exist, SCP-9683-195, also known as South Sudan.

The SCP-9683 entities are not human at all, even if it appears to be. All instances are the physical manifestation of the spirit of a country, state, or area. It is unknown how the SCP-9683 spirits gained a physical body, though it it belived that the very first instances were born from a Type Black humanoid entity.

Past neutralised entities of SCP-9683 are often countries, states and territories that were dissolved through history, usually turning back into normal humans civilians with no abnormal or anomalous traits. In more severe cases, the entity may die from the result of collapse of a country.

Though, turning back into a civilian may not be always the case, as instead of representing a country, the entity can represent a region or state within the new country. An example of this happening would be after Prussia was formerly dissolved in 1918 after the First World War, the living personification SCP-9683-18 continuing to live on with its brother, SCP-9683-17, the personification of Germany.

Many historical figures have known and met the instances of SCP-9683, such as Frederick the Great of Prussia, who met SCP-9683-18 when ruling the Kingdom of Prussia, and Jeanne d'Arc who served under SCP-9683-9 as a soldier during the Hundred Years War.

A reason why the instances of SCP-9683 went unnoticed by the public was because of an cognito-hazard that surrounds all beings of SCP-9683 that causes ordinary people around them perceive that SCP-9683 as just an assistant of the current leader in office. The cognito-hazard seems to be weak through long-term exposure, as prolonged exposure to one of the SCP-9683 instances causes the effect of the cognito-hazard to weaken or completely disappear. This is a reason why a leader in office will not mistake the SCP-9683 instances as normal government servants.

One of the beings, SCP-9683-2, also called Canada, seem to have a stronger presence of the cognito-hazard around it, almost like an invisibility shield, leading others around it to commonly forget SCP-9683-2.

Other anomalous traits and abilities include regenerative healing and immortality, the accelerated healing even being able to regenerate lost limbs and even damaged sanity. Accounts from the instances SCP-9683, ranges from SCP-9683-9 being able to survive its beheading during the first French Revolution and managing to to sew its neck and body back together. Another example of immortality and regenerative healing being demonstrated would be SCP-9683-14, the personification of Japan surviving seppuku when captured by enemy forces. SCP-9683-14 describing the practice as incredibly painful, though it recovered quickly from its wounds soon after.

During the growth of an instance of SCP-9683, the hight of a personification depends on the size of its country's territory, wealth, power and independence. The exception to this rule would be new-born nations, the growth either being extremely accelerated, average, or slow. Sometimes, the growth of a personification is stunted or stopped completely due to the anomalous effects of being a personification, or environmental factors such as injury, malnutrition, etc.

Addendum, SCP-9683-A: : Some SCP-9683 instances will own/meet an animal, spirit or anomalous humanoid. An animal will be affected by the SCP-9683 anomalous effects, the animal's lifespan being as long as whatever SCP-9683 instance owns it. A spirit or anomalous humanoid that is familiar with SCP-9683 instance will usually be part of a nations folklore, myths, and legends, such as the unicorns owned by SCP-9683-5, or the real existence of fairies. All anomlous creatures must be turned into the Foundation or captured to ensure the safety of the public.

Addendum, 9683-B, /194 : Several selected SCP-9683 instances have been assembled to form a new Mobile Task Force, Alpha-7 "Guardians of the Olive Branch," to ensure the destruction of the Obskurakorps and to ensure world-wide stability.

Incident, 9683-C: : All SCP-9683 have some form of relationship with each other, such a familial ties, often relating to historical relationships, alliances, and treaties. Some SCP-9683 instances dislike the other personification to the point of physically assaulting the other. To avoid future incidents such as the brawl between SCP-9683-1 and SCP-9683-7, personifications with known tendencies to fight with one another cannot be in the same room unless Dr. Ordell or another responsible staff member above Level Four Clearance permits it.

Addendum, 9683-D: : SCP-9683 personifications can fall ill during dates of past events and drastic situations. Includes:

• Economic recessions

• War

• Natural Disaster

• Pandemics/Epidemics

• Political Unrest

To cure the illness caused by these events, either one of the problems above have to be solved, or medical aid should be administered to the ill instance of SCP-9683. The symptoms of an illness in SCP-9683 will not dissipate, but medical intervention will help ease the more terrible symptoms of an illness in a personification.

Addendum, 9683-E: : Due to the maltreatment of the SCP-9683 instances in the past, it is highly advised against abusing the SCP in any form or way. The SCP-9683 only serve as personifications of the people of a country. Physical, verbal, mental, and psychological abuse of the SCP-9683 instances cannot influence the opinion, actions, or beliefs of a whole nation of people, instead abusing the entities will cause psychological damage to the personification. Though all entities can recover quickly, several personifications have exhibited symptoms of mental instability and mental illness due to mistreatment in the past.
