Two days later Anais was lying on her bed reading a book.
She heard a knock on the door.
"Come in."She said closing the book.
Gumball came in looking excited.
"Hey sis, can I talk to you?"
"Err, yeah sure."
She climbed down and sat down on his bed with him.
"What's up?"
"Well, I thought about our...talk the other night and I felt pretty bad about, well, everything."
"Okay...?" She replied unsure of where this was going.
"So, I had an idea to make it up to you..."
"Oh? What's that?" She started to get excited, wondering what he'd done.
"I talked about it with Darwin and he thought it was a great idea and I somehow managed to convince Mom and well.."
"Well...?"
"How would you like..." He grinned."...to come on the camping trip with me and Darwin?"
She gasped and her eyes lit up as she got excited.
"Really!? You mean it!?"
"Yep! Like I said, Darwin is completely on board with and I managed to convince Mom which wasnot easy...or cheap."
"or...cheap? What do you...what do you mean?" She raised her eyebrow confused.
"Well..."
"Hey, Mom, can I talk to you for a moment?" Gumball asked walking into the kitchen as his mother brewed a coffee.
"Sure honey, what's the matter."
"I wanted to ask you something."
"Go on..."
"Me and Darwin talked about it, and he's completely cool with it and well, we were wondering if maybe...perhaps...Anais could come on the camping trip with us?"
"What? Absolutely not!"
"What!? Why not?"
"She's only four years old, she's far too young for it."
"Oh come on, please! She's super mature and smart for her age, more than enough for this."
"Even if she is mature and smart, she's still four."
"Yeah, but she'd love it , I know she would!"
"She'd still be around a bunch of people way older than her, most of whom she barely knows."
"They're our friends, you know them, you know they wouldn't do anything to her! Besides, me and Darwin would be there, we'd make sure nothing happened to her, I promise."
She'd pause and think for a moment.
"Even if I were to say yes, and that's a big if, it'd cost a lot of money. I'd have to get her camping gear which alone will cost a ton, pay for the trip there and back, and a bunch of other stuff. We can't afford to spend that much, so sorry but no, she can't go."
She turn back around and pour of her coffee.
Gumball would pause and think for a moment.
"You can take it out of my allowance."
She paused and put the coffee down before turning back around.
"What?"
"However much it ends up costing, you can take it from my allowance."
"Are you sure? If I do this, it means you won't get any pocket money until it's paid off. That could take months."
"I know, I know, that's okay, I'll survive. It'll be worth it to make her happy."
"Awwww. You really want her to go, don't you?"
He'd nod.
She'd think for a moment before smiling.
"Oh, alright then, she can go."
"Yes! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" He hugged her.
"You're welcome."
He grinned."Wait until I tell her!"
"We'll go down and buy her camping gear as soon as I've finished my coffee, alright?"
"Sure!" He said running towards the stairs.
She chuckled. Anais was lucky that Gumball was so good at convincing her.
Anais teared up."You...you really gave up your allowance just so I could go?"
"Mhm. Gonna have to scrape by the next few months but this was worth every penny."
"What about...what about all your friends? Won't I get in the way?"
"No, no,of course not. Infact, they're all for you coming. They all had ideas for stuff they wanna do with you."
"Really? They...they want me there?"
"Yeah! Carrie said she can brew some potions with you, which I guess is kinda like chemistry so you'll probably enjoy it, Alan said he'd be happy for you to help him clean up parts of the forest with him, Bobert said he wants you to help him record all the different bird species there, not to mention everything you'll be doing with me, Darwin, Penny and Carrie.Trust me, you're gonna have plenty to do. You'll never feel left out or lonely."
"I...I-I-I don't what to say. That after what I did to you yesterday you'd still be willing to do this for me, I..."
She hugged him tightly crying happily."I love you so much."
He hugged her back."I love you too Ani."
"Kids, I'm to ready to go!"
"That'll be Mom. Come on, we're going to buy the camping gear for you."
"Ooh, okay!"
They got up and left the room. She held his paw, excitedly telling him everything she wanted to do on the trip and he just listened happily, glad to see her so excited and happy again.
