Mercury and Jaune were in the library, finishing some weird essay profesor Port had tasked them to do, in a weird twist of destiny, the teacher decided that pairs would be formed at random and by mere chance the both them ended up together, it's definitely not me having no idea what the fuck what am I doing, I promise
Mercury was bored to death and would rather be doing anything else if it meant it wouldn't involve whatever this was, suddenly an idea pop up in his head, it was an idea he would probably regret later, but it was better than homework, so he made his move
"Hey Blondie" he said catching the knight's attention "Wanna hook up?"
Jaune froze, staring at Mercury, a minute or two passed before he spoke again "...What?"
"I asked if you wanna hook up" he said as if it was nothing 'If you don't then just say it"
"It's not that, I think, it's just...why?" he asked
"Shits and giggles" Mercury shrugged
"...Is that it?"
"Well, that and the fact that I really don't wanna do this essay" Mercury said looking at their work with disgust "and plot"
"Hmm" Jaune hummed, in all honestly, he didn't want to finish the essay either and getting rejected by Weiss so many times was not doing favors for his self esteem, so, after exactly 3 seconds of consideration, he made a choice "You know what? Sure, let's do it"
"Cool" Mercury said, and so they began
This was obviously a just one time thing, and it would never go furth-oh fuck it
They became a couple some few months later, everyone was happy for them, except Pyrrha

So, Jaune X Mercury, it's pretty stupid I know, the only explanation I have for it, is that Mercury lost in a poll for another fanfic and that I didn't really care until this thing came to my mind
So uhhhhhh, yeah, I called it Silver Knight beacuse I had nothing better, I thought Grey Knight, but I felt that was lamer, I'm not sure If Silver represents Mercury that well, but I think it gets the job done
