this chapter is merely the prologue for the real fanfiction. of course, it has a smaller word-count than the real thing will. I'm just working on it still. this prologue chapter is two-hundred-three words worth of prologue, not including the headnote, right here, or the surprisingly mandatory disclaimer following the headnote.

disclamation: I do not own the 'Scooby-Doo' franchise, nor do I own its characters. this saga in the 'Scooby-Doo' franchise is owned by Raja Gosnell, and the original series of 'Scooby-Doo' was owned by none other than Joseph Ruby and Kenneth Spears, along with William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. the only thing is this fanfiction which I truly own is the plotline which this prologue of a chapter explains.

This fanfiction takes place during the time in which the Mystery Incorporated gang of mystery solvers is working on the control panel from the Monster Hive. Well, Velma, Fred and Daphne are working on the control panel from the Monster Hive, while Shaggy and Scooby are outside the old clubhouse feeling sorry for themselves at what they had done to the gang and to Coolsville, itself. If you don't know which part of the 'Scooby Doo' franchise from which that is, check out 'Scooby Doo: Monsters Unleashed'.

Anyway, this fanfiction happens to be an alternate scene from Velma, Fred and Daphne's montage in the clubhouse with trying to reverse the monster-making process done by the Evil Masked Figure. In the fanfiction, Daphne finds her way in front of the clubhouse's makeshift television screen and winds up being hypnotized by the Ghost Clown. And since he's the real deal this time, it is highly likely, even possible, that there is no real way to stop him without defeating the Evil Masked Figure and finally unmasking him.

What will the rest of the gang do to stop the Ghost Clown's hold on Daphne? What can they do to free Daphne's mind from the Ghost Clown's mental grip? If they can get out of their fit of self-pity, can Shaggy and Scooby do something about the trance the Ghost Clown has on Daphne?
