Here was one that a friend prompted for me "Lila and Five" and I can write a lot when it comes to the two of them.

So here's an alternate to them returning from the ruins of the Commission in season 3.

"Fam"

"Don't touch anything."

It was a simple instruction.

Also, it wasn't one Five was necessarily following himself, as he was checking what computers may still work. He wasn't sure what they were walking into when they arrived, but never in a million years would he have imagined he would be witnessing his own death. Stuck in a machine, with one arm, labeled as "The Founder" of the organization that had been trying to kill him for quite some time.

With a terrible tattoo that he now had rolled up and hidden in his inner jacket pocket.

Now he and Lila were trying to summon up enough energy between the two of them to try to get back.

"Or," She said, "We could take this."

She held up another briefcase.

"Where did you find that one?"

"Norm's old office. Hidden behind the false paneling of his desk." She shrugged. "Not like anyone else needs it at this point." She placed it down on some piled rubble and started to click at the handles.

Five tilted his head as he looked closer at the briefcase. Something about it seemed wrong…

It hummed, preparing to send them to the coordinates she entered, and he finally saw the blue dot at the corner of the bag.

"It's a bait bag!" He yelled, just as she clicked it open. Her eyes went wide when she realized his words. "Lila!"

He pulled himself between her and the bag, placing a hand on her head to pull her down where he would shield her as they were transported among an explosion.

The last thing Lila heard was him crying out, as there was the mixed sensation of heat from the detonation, and the chill of the other side of wherever he was opening a portal to send it.

The siblings were in the hall on the way to the lobby in Hotel Obsidian.

"You okay?" Allison was asking Viktor.

"Great. You?"

"Never better."

Luther looked between his bruised and cut siblings and caught Diego's eye. His brother gave him a smile and turned so Luther could get a good view of his injury and Diego indicated to Allison, as if they both had some secret.

Suddenly there was a blast, along with a crash, as a blink portal appeared above them and Five and Lila came crashing down, taking out parts of the pillar they were next to.
The Hargreeves looked at the situation in front of them, which was literally on fire. Including their brother's suit jacket.

Lila patted at the flames as she pushed Five off of her.

"What the hell happened?" Diego demanded, rushing to help her up and checking her for injuries. Viktor rushed to Five's side, who had yet to move on his own.

"We went to the commission. To try to get to the bottom of some things…It's not really there anymore." Lila managed to get out as she was catching her breath. She looked to what was left of the briefcase they used and to the mess around them. "It took all our energy to get there. I thought I found a briefcase to get us out."

Allison perked up at this and looked around the mess. "Where is it?"

"Gone," Lila answered. "It was a 'bait bag'. They are decoy bags that have explosives in them. They will transport you to another time, but they'll go off and wherever you end up has to deal with the aftermath" She glanced around. "This definitely could have been worse if Five didn't act so quickly." She looked down at the unconscious figure that she just mentioned. "Is he…"

"Breathing," Viktor told her. "It doesn't really look like he got burned too badly, but he's not waking."

"Could be a mix between getting hit with the energy burst of the explosion and him using all the energy he might have had to get us here safely," Lila knelt to study him. She looked up at Luther. "Oy, you lug. Get him in a bed or something. We should probably get him ointment for where he is burned."

Luther looked confused for a moment at her barking orders at him, but came forward to lift the small, older, man into his arms.

"Careful Lila, someone might think you care," Diego partially teased. However he did seem a little on edge with how much she suddenly cared for his brother.

"So what if I do?" Lila challenged. "He protected me, Diego. Only a split second to think and the little cockwomble's first instinct was to shield me. And what for? For me? For you? Who knows? But he put himself directly in the path of a blast that was my fault."

Diego studied her.

"Is that why you are upset?" He pressed. "Because you feel responsible?"

She watched as Luther headed up the stairs with Five's head drooped against him. Viktor followed after them.

"I do feel responsible," Lila admitted. "I *am* responsible… but I *do* care about him. I never wanted to. I never wanted to care about any of you."

"That's how you know you're family," Allison chimed in. She walked over to her new "sister" and put a hand on her shoulder. "Come on. Let's go get Five the medicine."

Lila just nodded.

Luther put Five down on the couch in their room. Five had slept on the lower bunk of the bed that was in the corner, but with the need to tend to him, the couch made more sense.

Viktor pulled Five's jacket off and unbuttoned his vest and dress shirt. The vest seemed to be untouched, but the top of the shirts collar was burnt.

"How's it looking?" Luther asked.

"Some burns on his neck, just below his hairline," Viktor replied. "Can you get some ice and a towel?"

While Luther left to take care of that, Viktor turned his attention to Five's face. No burns. No bruises. A few small scratches was all he could make out on his "little" brother, whose eyes seemed to be tracking under their lids.

"Five?" Viktor gently laid him back. "Can you hear me?"

There was a small moan, and a turn of the head along with a wince. However, his brother didn't respond or open his eyes.

Luther came back in with a bucket of ice and two small hand towels, followed by Lila, Diego and Allison. Lila held out the cream, along with some bandages.

"Thanks," Viktor said, taking the items and gestured to Lila. "You wanna help me?"

Lila nodded and the others found spots around the room to observe, but stay out of the way.

Lila and Viktor moved Five as they needed to, applying cream and bandages, and wrapping ice in the hand towels and places on behind his neck, the other on his forehead, which caused him to stir slightly.

"Five?" Viktor inquired again hoping for a better result than the last time.

He opened his eyes, looking around. Only Viktor and Lila would be in his view. He looked concerned at first, and then relieved as he took in a breath and closed his eyes again.

"I'm sorry," Lila voiced before he could doze back off. She felt frustrated. No matter how many times she said the words, it didn't seem like enough. "I should have seen that it was a bait bag…"

There was silence for a moment.

Then… "You couldn't have known," 'The Boy' spoke quietly and somewhat strained. His eyes opened slightly. "I didn't notice what it was until the last second."

"I could have waited a few moments," Lila argued. "I was in such a rush-"

"I was too. We made it, didn't we?"

Lila looked to the other siblings and moved herself closer to Five.

"Why did you protect me?"

"Because… you're family. It's what we do. No matter how we may feel about each other in that moment," He said, closing his eyes again, starting to fade. "I…"

"Need some sleep," Allison finished, standing up from the bed that she had sat on. "We should let him get some rest."

Everyone nodded their agreements and started out, but Lila held back a moment.

"You didn't have to protect me," she said, not sure if he could hear her.

"I wasn't just protecting you…" he opened his eyes and found hers, then his gaze dropped to her stomach.. "Was I?"

She unconsciously placed her hands over her midriff.

"How…"

"I had a feeling." He closed his eyes again.

She knelt next to him, getting on his level. She placed her hand in his and gave it a little squeeze. He opened his eyes again and met hers.

"Thank you."

"Think about it Lila," he gave a weak smile. "You're the only one who is a real 'challenge' to me. I'm not going to lose that if I can help it."

She returned the smile. "I'll let you rest," she started out, seeing Diego at the door. She placed an arm around him once she reached him and glanced back at Five.

"Everything alright?" Diego asked.

"Yeah…" she looked at him and smiled. "Let's join the rest of the fam."
