It was the place where legends battled. Moments ago, there was a climatic show battle between Yugi Muto and Yuma Tsukumo. After a long battle, even the King of Games was no match for the duelist from the future. At least, if he were to believe that. Michael of all people received a deck for a chance to play. He didn't know much about the game.
"Are you sure this is okay?" Michael asked Yuma.
"Don't worry about it."
Michael felt unworthy to play with such a deck. The deck sure looked awesome when he inspected all the numbers cards.
His opponent was another convention attendee. Someone named Ariana was playing Yugi's deck. He headed onto the stage with trembling hands. What if he damaged these cards?
"I summon Jack's Knight in attack mode," Ariana said. "And I place two cards face-down."
Michael finally looked at his cards. All five of them were blank. He began panicking.
"Are you new or something? Come on!" Ariana said.
Could he even play those cards? Everyone saw the deck in action moments before. Every single time Yuma drew a card, he shouted, "Shining Draw!"
Maybe that was the flaw because he didn't do that. "Shining Draw!" Michael shouted.
"I play Dork Weapon, Paper foam sword," Michael stuttered out. It hurt him to read the text.
The audience laughed at such a play.
Ariana wasted no time in setting up more of her field and clearing that pathetic monster.
Michael draws the next card with a shaky hand. It was blank again.
"I play…" He didn't know what to call it even. "In attack mode."
Just as well, the entire arena exploded from unrecognized inputs.
"Give me that." Kaiba wanted his duel disk. "You dare to cheat in my presence? You've got some nerve."
"Me?" Michael blabbered.
"No, him!" Kaiba glared at Yuma with hatred. "How do you explain this?"
Yuma was sweating. "I brought the wrong deck."
Of course, Yugi wouldn't lose to a random nobody.
"Take him away," Kaiba said.
"You can't do this," Yuma said.
"Just watch me."
"Yugi, I'm sorry about this." Kaiba bowed. "I never thought they would be so brazen."
"Allow me," Yugi said confidently. "This travesty cannot stand."
Yuma Tsukumo went limp as the guards escorted him away.
Michael ran away from the convention center as fast as he could as if he witnessed something that he shouldn't have seen.
