Principal Snyder's office.
"It saids here that you're a straight A student and working part time jobs." Principal Snyder said
"All is correct." Lana said
"Your parents?" Principal Snyder asked Lana
"Nope. Just my brother." Lana said
"A lot of kids here I don't trust. Including you. I run a tight ship here in Sunnydale high. Keep being a straight A student. Are we clear?" Principal Snyder asked Lana
"Crystal." Lana said
Lana was at the hallway looking at Buffy talking to her friends. She walked towards them.
"Hi I'm Lana Monroe. I'm new." Lana said
"Cool." Buffy said
"I'm Willow. That's Buffy, Xander, Mr. Giles and Miss Calendar." Willow said
"Nice names. Could one of you show me where the library is? History major." Lana said
"I'm the librarian. I'll show you." Giles said
"Me too." Xander said
Library
Lana looked for her history books.
"So, uh, what's your story?" Xander asked Lana
"Born in San Francisco. Parents died when I was six months old. Moved to a few foster homes. I have a foster brother. I was never invited to parties. Having fun." Lana said
History class.
"Attention students. We have a new student today." Mr. Cox said
"I'm Lana Monroe. I transfer here to San Francisco. History my favorite subject, like music, playing the piano, gymnastics, and shopping." Lana said
Nighttime.
Lana was waiting outside of Buffy's house. Angel jumped out of the open window.
"I must say great performance." Lana said
"Lana?" Angel said
"Surprised?" Lana asked Angel
"Yeah." Angel said
Angel hugged Lana.
Walking around the graveyard.
"What are you doing here?" Angel asked Lana
"Oh, come on. I couldn't miss all the action. I've missed my best friend. Here he is. Still stalking the slayer." Lana said
"I'm in love with her." Angel said
"Well there's a twist." Lana said
"What about you? What you been doing?" Angel said
"Register for classes at Sunnydale high. Be with the normal crowd. Met your slayer of course and also her friends." Lana said
"They'll figure it out. About you. About the whole thing." Angel said
"About what I am. (Lana gets out a bottle of pigs blood and a stake. 2 female vampires came out of their graves. She puts the bottle down.) I got this. (She blocks their moves.) Really?" Lana said
Lana did a spinning kick at 1 of them and flipped the other. She stake both of them and turn to dust.
"I've always taught you well." Angel said
Angel picked up the bottle and drinks the pigs blood.
"You were also my mentor." Lana said
Angel stopped drinking.
"Where are you living?" Angel asked Lana
"I don't know yet. My things are in the car." Lana said
"Remember? You use to live with me?" Angel asked Lana
Angels apartment.
Angel helped Lana with her stuff.
"Thanks." Lana thanking Angel
"You've been stealing snacks again?" Angel asked Lana
"Yeah. You know me. Need it for survival. (Angel fixes Lana the bed.) No. No, Angel. I can sleep on the floor. That's your bed." Lana said
"Lana I insist. Besides you got school in the morning. I'll think of something." Angel said
"Ok." Lana said
"Why don't you get some sleep. I'm gonna head out for a bit." Angel said
Next day.
Sunnydale high.
Lana walking down the halls. Xander catched up with her.
"Can we talk?" Xander asked Lana
"Sure." Lana said
Library.
Lana and Giles stands and Xander, Willow, and Jenny sit at the table.
"Angel comes to me in the middle of the night. Told me what you are." Giles said
"You lied to us." Willow said
"First day." Xander said
Lana sighs and comes out and say it.
"I'm a Dhampir. Ok. I'm part human." Lana said
"And your part vampire?" Jenny Calendar asked Lana
"Yes." Lana said
"Pretty cool that you're walking in the sun." Xander said
"Angel mention that a few months ago. Your father was the Master." Giles said
"I was born here in Sunnydale. My mom was human. The master wanted someone who could've lead his vampires for victory. She was the one that he impregnated. Then there was me. She had no choice but to give me up. Any foster homes. He killed her 4 months later. I was 4 months old. Over the years I've dreamt every night. Wondering who the scary man is." Lana said
"Age 15 you've met Angel?" Giles asked Lana
Lana nods.
"All I can think about was getting revenge on my father. At the age of 16 Angel left. Three months later, I've got a call from him. He told me Buffy killed him. You were the ones that helped her. I came here cause I wanted to say thank you. All of you." Lana thanking them
Outside.
"Angel told me that you guys go to this popular club?" Lana said
"The bronze." Xander said
"We're going tonight. You wanna go?" Willow asked Lana
Lana smiles.
"Sure." Lana said
Cordelia approaches to them.
"Hi I'm Cordelia Chase. You're new here right?" Cordelia asked Lana
"Yes. I'm Lana Monroe." Lana said
"She's staying with Angel." Willow said
"Staying with Angel?" Cordelia asked in confusion
"We go way back. He's like my big brother." Lana said
"You know about the vampires and everything?" Cordelia asked Lana
"Yeah pretty much." Lana said
Angels apartment.
"They invited me to the bronze." Lana said
"That's great." Angel said
"You coming with?" Lana asked Angel
"I don't know if that's a good idea. Buffy's not herself." Angel said
"Maybe I could try to talk to her." Lana said
Bronze
People are dancing. Band is playing.
"Holy crap. My first real club." Lana said
"You're already nervous." Angel said
They see Xander and Willow sitting at a table.
"Come on." Lana said
"I shouldn't. (Lana waiting for a answer.) Xander doesn't like me that much." Angel said
Lana laughs and walked towards Willow and Xander.
"Hey guys." Lana said
"We're glad that you made it." Willow said
"Glad I did." Lana said
A guy came over to there table.
"You wanna dance?" Guy asked Lana
"Oh...um" Lana said as Xander cuts her off
"She'll dance with you." Xander said
"Sure. (Lana and the guy started dancing on the dance floor. Buffy walks inside. Lana looked at them as Buffy and Angel started talking to each other. She walked away and he looked at her out of anger. Lana stopped dancing.) I'm sorry. Excuse me. (She walked towards Buffy, Willow, and Xander's table.) What did you say to him?" Lana asked Buffy
"How you know? Did he tell you what was going on?" Buffy asked Lana
"You should've been to your slayer meeting but you didn't." Lana said
"There's a start." Buffy said
"Angel is like a brother to me. Stay on mission or be a bitch. I don't care. But don't talk to him like that again. You're not going to stay young forever. He cares about you and you know it." Lana said
Lana walked away and so did Angel.
Next day.
Lana walked towards the hallways and bumped to a blonde girl Harmony.
"I'm sorry." Lana said
"You're Lana. The new girl. I'm Harmony." Harmony said
"Yeah. Let's see french nails, high heels, and I pegged you girls being cheerleaders. I think I picked that on Cordelia." Lana said
"You're correct. Have you seen her? We haven't seen her all day." Harmony said
In the library.
Buffy catches the rock in her hands. It has a note wrapped around it and kept in place with a bracelet.
"This is Cordelia's. (takes off the note) 'Come to the Bronze and bring the Masters daughter, or we make a meal out of Cordelia." Buffy said
"They're gonna cook her dinner? (They looked at Xander weirdly.) I'll pretend I didn't say that." Xander said
"What do we do?" Willow asked them
"I'll turn myself in." Lana said
"Lana you can't go." Giles said
"It was my fault Mr. Giles. I shouldn't have come here. They want me. Then they can have me." Lana said
"Actually I go to the Bronze and save the day. You stay here. (Buffy starts to go. Lana grabbed her left shoulder and turned around.) Don't do that again." Buffy said
"I don't like this." Xander said
"Nor I!" Giles said
"Yeah? Well, you guys aren't going." Buffy said
"What do you mean?" Willow asked in confusion
"I can't do it anymore. I can't look after the three of you guys while I'm fighting." Buffy said
"Well, what about the rest of the note?" Willow asked Buffy
"What rest of the note?" Buffy asked Willow
"The part that says, 'P.S. This is a trap'?" Willow said
You'll be playing straight into their hands." Giles said
Giles takes off his glasses.
"I can handle this." Buffy said
"Stop saying that! God, what's wrong with you?" Willow asked Buffy
"She could be in real danger." Lana said
"I'm the slayer. I do this alone." Buffy said
"Yeah. I've heard about the whole slaying Minaj thing. "Every generation a slayer is born. She alone will stand against the vampires, demons, and the forces of darkness." I'm the Dhampir. I don't believe fighting alone. I believe working as a team. So leave your bitch fit at home. Cause I'm coming with you either you like it or not." Lana said
Outside the Bronze.
Angel comes around them.
"Why are you ridin' me?" Angel asked Buffy
Lana goes inside and looked around as the Bronze was empty. She sees a girl crying in a corner. She walked towards her. The girl turned around. It was a vampire and she laughed.
"You're not Cordelia." Lana said
Angel and Buffy appears behind her.
"Cordelia couldn't make it. You're the last heir who can bring back the master." Vampire said
"Go to hell." Lana said
"Where is she?" Buffy asked the vampire
"I'm not supposed to tell." Vampire said
"There's the bait. Where's the hook?" Angel asked in confusion
The vampire attacks, and Buffy flips her over onto her back on the floor and pins her down with her foot.
"You're right. Why would they send just one?" Buffy asked Angel
"They needed her as a distraction." Lana said
Buffy binds the vampire's wrists
"Watch her. Don't kill her unless you have to." Buffy said
Buffy shoves the vampire over to Angel.
"Buffy! What's goin' on?" Angel asked Buffy
"I'll be back." Buffy said
"Watch her." Lana said
At the school library.
Buffy and Lana comes rushing in and stopped. They towards Xander and he regains consciousness and gets up, using the table for support.
"Xander!" Lana said
Both Lana and Buffy rushes over to Xander to help. He shakes Buffy off, but not Lana.
"What happened?" Buffy asked Xander
Xander was out of breath.
"Vampires." Xander said
"Where are the others?" Buffy asked Xander
"I don't know. (Xander was angry at Buffy.) I don't know what your problem is, what your issues are. But as of now, I officially don't care." Xander said
Buffy turns away.
"We, we just have to think. Where would they have taken them?" Buffy asked in confusion
"If they hurt Willow, I'll kill you." Xander said
Buffy turns back to him and looks at him seriously.
"Wait a minute. Why did they take them and not you?" Lana asked in confusion
"Giles said the ritual was, um...They needed people who were close to the Master. Physically close. When he, uh..." Xander said
"The ones who were with the Master when he died." Buffy said
"Giles, Willow..." Xander said
"Cordelia..." Lana said
"Ms. Calendar." Buffy said
"Odds are they've got a complete set by now." Xander said
"We need to find out where." Buffy said
"How?" Xander asked Buffy
Back to the Bronze.
Buffy is interrogating the female vampire. She throws her down onto the floor.
"One more time: where are they?" Buffy asked
"You're too late. Your friends are dead." Vampire said
Buffy lifts the vampire back up.
"Tell me where they are!" Buffy said
Vampire laughed.
"What are you gonna do? Kill me?" Vampire asked Buffy
"As a matter of fact...(Buffy throws the vampire onto a pool table.)...yes. (yanks off her necklace) But since I'm not gonna kill you any time soon, the question becomes...(She drops the cross into the vampire's mouth and covers it with her hands.)...how are we gonna pass the time till then? (The cross burns in the vampire's mouth, and she shakes her head. After several seconds Buffy pulls the cross back out.) So. One more time." Buffy said
Buffy, Angel, Xander, and Lana comes into the warehouse through a side door. They looks up at the Cordelia, Willow, Giles, and Jenny Calendar hanging upside down.
"Buffy! Buffy! (Buffy faces Xander) We gotta do something now!" Xander whisper
"They want me. Let me go down there." Lana said
Lana walked down.
"For the old one. For his pain. For the dark." Absalom said
"For the dark!" Vampires said
Lana approaches to the vampires.
"Ok. Ok. Just stop." Lana said
Vampires looked at Lana.
"The last bloodline of the master. Join us. You and him can be reunited." Absalom said
"I'm gonna have to say no to that. I don't want him alive. Just came here to break his bones. (A stake is suddenly thrust through him from behind, and he instantly turns into ashes. Buffy stands there now in a fighting stance. Absalom looks at her in disbelief.) Did I mention I have back up?" Lana said
Absalom roars. Three vampires begin fighting Buffy and Lana. Angel and Xander pulling on the chain, bringing the others back over to the platform.
"The sacrifices! Stop them!" Absalom said
A vampire responds to Absalom's command and runs to the ladder to the platform.
"Oh, no you don't." Lana said
Angel and Xander keep pulling on the chain. Lana jumped on the vampire and made him fall. She staked him. Lana joins Buffy for the fight again and Buffy threw her a stake. Lana did a spinning kick but missed. Absalom put her in a chokehold.
"You belong with us. Don't you want to see him again?" Absalom asked Lana
"I rather see him dead! (Lana twist Absalom hand. She sees the torch and started burning him with it. He screams in pain and turned to dust.) You're dead too. (All the vampires are gone. Sledgehammer is just sitting there. Lana bends down and picked it up. Her and Buffy looked at the Master's skeleton. They both walked to the Master's skeleton.) This is for my mom." Lana said
Lana swings the hammer back behind her and arcs it directly into the Master's skull, shattering it to pieces. She stopped, started crying, and hands Buffy the Sledgehammer. Buffy started hitting the Master's skeleton. Angel comes up to them and watches Buffy continue until there's nothing left on the table. She stops and bursts into tears, dropping the sledgehammer to the floor.
"It's okay. It's okay." Angel said
Buffy turns around and leans into him, crying into his shoulder. Angel gently holds on to her as she cries. Lana hugged them.
Next day.
Sunnydale high.
Jenny and Cordelia walk across the quad.
"Cordelia! Miss Calendar!" Lana said
Lana catches up with them.
"Hey." Jenny said
"Thanks for helping saving our lives." Cordelia said
"No problem." Lana said
"Where did you learn how to fight?" Cordelia asked Lana
"Angel taught me." Lana said
"Cool." Cordelia said
"I wanted to ask you something." Lana said
"What is it?" Cordelia asked Lana
"I notice you guys don't have a gymnastics team. I was wondering if you have a spot on your cheerleading squad?" Lana asked Cordelia
"We'll see." Cordelia said
History class.
Buffy comes in, sees Lana, Willow and Xander stops. Facing at her. Buffy walks over to an empty desk next to Willow and behind Lana.
"Hey, Buffy." Willow said
"Hey." Buffy said
"We saved you a seat." Willow said
Buffy looked at them and sits down.
"Lana?" Buffy said
"Yeah." Lana said
"I'm sorry for being a bitch to you. Let's start over. (Buffy starts off again.) Hi. I'm Buffy Summers and you are?" Buffy asked Lana
"Lana Monroe. Please to meet you." Lana said
"There's a rumor going around that, uh, Mr. Cox is the most boring teacher in the entire world. Like, I think he won a belt or something." Xander said
"Like, yes." Buffy said
"Well, I hear he nods off a lot. So that's a plus." Willow said
"So, we Bronzin' it tonight?" Xander asked them
"Wednesday, it's kinda beat." Willow said
"Well, we could grind our enemies into talcum powder with a sledgehammer, but, gosh, we did that last night. (The Willow and Xander give Buffy and Lana big smiles.) Hey, I got a plan: how 'bout miniature golf." Xander said
"There's no course here." Willow said
"Very funny." Lana said
"What about miniature tennis? A very tiny form of tennis that we could invent." Xander said
"You're so funny." Lana said
"Think about it." Xander said
Nighttime.
Angels apartment
Lana comes in and she is surprised. She sees the whole place rearrange and sees another bed. She also sees Angel, Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles, and Jenny.
"Oh my god!" Lana said
"You're surprised." Angel said
"I don't know what to say." Lana said
"Don't say anything." Xander said
"You helped me. Destroy your father's bones. This was me making it up to you." Buffy said
"I love it." Lana said
Giving Lana a group hug.
