I'm glad you guys wanted to read this story, so I will do the best I can with these updates. I don't know how long it will be, so it depends on how long the plot is. There will be snippets from the game 'Sonic & the Black Knight', so I'm gonna do the best I can to incorporate it in the Boom universe. Hope you guys like it!
Something cold and wet pressed against his forehead, causing him to groan a little. It felt nice, and he sighed in relief that he was lying on something soft. He wanted to sleep forever, but voices echoed in the background. He could just go back to sleep. After all, sleep is good.
There isn't any danger, and Caliburn isn't making him wake up early. He saved the day like he always did. A hero like him never loses. And now, heroes like him need their rest, except he can't remember how long he was sleeping. Hopefully, he can stay like this forever. The bed is nice and soft.
"Please wake up, Sonic…"
That voice. It sounded like the Blacksmith.
"We're glad you came back to us…"
The Lady of the Lake Nimue? Is he at her domain?
"Come on, dude... You gotta open your eyes…"
Sir Gawain? Are the rest of the knights here?
"Wake up, Sonic… Don't let those aliens take you..."
Aliens? Hold on, there is only one person who has crazy ideas, and it's his friend Sticks!
Scrunching his eyes shut tightly, he slowly lifted his heavy eyelids, blinking a few times until he regained his vision. The first thing he saw are familiar faces, and a swarm of bodies engulfing him in a huge hug, making it hard to breathe.
"Sonic! You're awake!"
"We're so glad you've returned!"
"I knew those aliens didn't get you!"
"You owe me a challenge for making me worry!"
Realizing its his friends here in Hedgehog Village and not in Camelot, he hugged them back. He's back home. Merlina was able to send him back home safe and sound. He knew it wasn't all a dream since everything he encountered felt real.
As soon as they all broke the hug, the gang bombarded him with questions, causing Sonic to sit up and place both his hands up. "One at a time, please. You obviously want answers on what happened to me."
Amy placed her hands on her hips while frowning. "You have no idea! Where were you, Sonic!? No one has seen you in months!"
"We thought we would never find you again, but I knew you would come back!" Tails wiped his eyes to prevent himself from crying. "But the real question is how?"
"It has to be aliens! You shot down from the sky like a meteor!" Sticks inspected Sonic. "Are you the real Sonic and not an imposter wanting to brainwash us!?"
"Guys, easy!" Sonic reassured them. "I'm not sure how it happened, but there's a reason why."
"Which is?" Knuckles asked.
"You might want to sit down for this," Sonic gestured to the chairs. "Trust me, it's a long tale that'll blow your minds."
Knowing what he'll tell them is something hard to believe, they all sat down on the chairs while scooting closer to Sonic, as he made himself comfortable on the bed and began his tale.
Sonic sighed in relief, laying in his hammock while getting some rest. Nighttime had already come, and thanks to his recovery, he was able to move around again. Luckily, he didn't suffer any injuries from the crash, and was able to go back to his shack to rest. Sadly, it's getting difficult to get any due to earlier.
His friends couldn't believe what they were told of being summoned to a place called Camelot by Merlina the Wizard, and was told King Arthur had been corrupted. In order to restore peace to the kingdom, Sonic must defeat King Arthur. He got a talking sword called Caliburn, and he even met a lot of people who reminded him of people he knew, but with a personality difference.
Luckily, there was no Dr. Eggman in Camelot, and his opponents were extremely tough. He never thought someone serious like Gawain would resemble his friend Knuckles, and their personalities differ. Even the Lady of the Lake has a calmer and more mature personality than Amy does, and they both share a resemblance.
He doesn't remember anyone he knows who resembled Percival, but he knew someone who resembled Lancelot. They both share the same features, but Lancelot is a lot more chivalrous, mature, and loyal to his king. He is definitely the exact opposite of Shadow, who can be aggressive, prideful, blunt, and arrogant. Though Shadow is a tough opponent and rival, so he's kind of okay in Sonic's book.
Then more events happened - thanks to Caliburn revealing himself to be the true Excalibur and transforming into an armored super form called Excalibur Sonic – and protected the world once again. But the biggest surprise is when he was chosen as the true king, and became the new King Arthur.
After telling them the whole tale, the others couldn't really believe what he said. He didn't blame them, since he still has trouble believing everything he encountered is real and not a dream. Tails believed the crash hit his hard, but he was actually fine. Amy was stuck on whether she should believe him or not, since the tale sounded a little far-fetched. Sticks believed Sonic had been abducted by the government who brainwashed him, checking to make sure he isn't an imposter. As for Knuckles, he couldn't stop gushing over the fact Sonic met a knight who resembled him, and believed he is destined to fight with a sword.
At least Knuckles believes him, while Tails is figuring out if it's possible to travel to another dimension. Amy needed some time to think over on what he told her, and Sticks will soon realize he wasn't abducted by aliens, ghosts, the government, or anything to support her crazy theory.
A loud yawn escaped his lips, and his eyelids started to feel heavy. Maybe tomorrow once Eggman comes and tries to wreck the village, he'll show him how much stronger he had gotten. Plus, the look on his face once he realizes that Sonic the Hedgehog is back will be priceless. But first, he needs his sleep.
"So I was a cool knight who wielded a sword?" Knuckles questioned with an eager expression.
Sonic sighed, and nodded. "Yup. He called himself Sir Gawain."
"Ga-what?"
"Gawain is a strong knight who is part of the Round Table," Tails explained to him. "He and the other knights serve under King Arthur."
"Since you mentioned he's strong, then I'm obviously a future knight!" Knuckles pumped his fist up in excitement.
Amy shook her head, taking a sip of her drink. "Sonic, maybe you were unconscious the whole time when you landed on the beach."
"I still think the government tried to brainwash him. Or maybe robots!" Sticks declared.
Sonic shrugged, taking a bite of his chili dog. "Like I said before and I'll say it again. I didn't dream any of it. What I experienced is real, and obviously not my imagination."
Tails scratched the side of his head. "I already did a scan on you a few times, and there's no head injury. Though you do have a large appetite."
"3 months without a chili dog nearly killed me. I'm eating as much as I can, so I'll never forget how yummy they are."
"Even though they came from Meh Burger?"
"They're decent enough. A lot better than their burgers."
Scarfing down the rest of his food, his ears picked up on people screaming. He looked up to see a bunch of robots terrorizing the citizens, and a familiar villain in his egg mobile.
"Yes! Run like headless chickens! Beware of me! Dr. Eggman!" he cackled.
Finishing the last chili dog, Sonic and his team stood up from their seats, got their weapons out, and started destroying the robots. While his team took care of the robots, Sonic took on Eggman, who was surprised to see him.
"W-When did you came back!?"
"Awww, you missed me, Egghead?"
"Fat chance!"
"Whoa. That's a little harsh to say that to yourself."
"I'll destroy you, hedgehog!"
He ordered one of his larger robots to attack Sonic, but Sonic was able to dodge them at ease. Using his super speed, he was able to avoid the robot's attacks, and decided to end the fight by making it trip with a wire, causing the robot to fall and for Sonic to destroy its main source of power. After he did that, he helped his team destroy the rest of the robots, leaving only Eggman left to defeat.
Dr. Eggman gulped. "I just remembered I need to do my laundry. We'll meet again next time!"
As he high tailed it out of there, the rest of the citizens cheered, some were louder now that Sonic had returned to them. This is what Sonic missed: the cheers of the citizens, battling Eggman, and most of all, returning to his real home.
"Will you ever come back, my king?"
Suddenly, his stomach started to ache, causing him to sprint away from the crowd and over to a nearby trashcan, causing him to vomit the rest of his chili dogs. Guess he should've slowed down on them, or Meh Burger finally caught up to him after disappearing for 3 months. He continued to throw up, and felt someone rubbing his back while the other held his quills back so they wouldn't get stained.
"I told you that eating chili dogs at a fast pace can hurt your stomach," he heard Amy say.
"That or Meh Burger is trying to poison him," Sticks added.
"Don't worry, Sonic. We got you," Tails reassured him, patting his back.
"Though I am surprised that used to be a chili dog," Knuckles replied.
This caused him to vomit more. Note to self, check the chili dogs before eating them whenever he goes to Meh Burger. He forgot that Meh Burger couldn't count as a place where they have decent food.
Weeks have passed, and Sonic start to exhibit strange behavior. He would eat more than usual, get nauseous, vomit, and experience a change in emotion. Tails recalled the time Eggman came back to wreak havoc on their volleyball game, and hurled insults at them. Sonic was silent for a minute, and then burst into tears. This surprised everyone, even Eggman.
Then, Sonic was no longer sad but angry, and he used a spin-dash attack to send Eggman and his egg-mobile back to where they came from. Sonic returned back to his usual self, and continued the game like nothing happened. But what really stunned Tails is when Sonic refused to be near any chili dogs, claiming he was still nauseous after eating them at Meh Burger, and this chili dog wasn't even from Meh Burger but made by Amy.
Tails noticed a change in Sonic's figure as well. His fur became a bit shinier, there's a sparkle in his green eyes, and his belly had gotten a little bigger. Sonic believed he is getting out of shape, and reassured Tails that he just needs to run so the bump will go away. Tails did hope Sonic isn't getting the stomach bug, since it can occur sometimes in the village. Though the number one source of it is related to Meh Burger.
He continued to build one of his latest inventions, deciding to distract himself from getting worried. As long as Sonic doesn't eat anything from Meh Burger and eats something else, he'll be fine.
"Just a little more…" he mumbled while connecting the wires together.
Suddenly, the door to his workshop was slammed open, causing him to jump and discontinue the wires. He turned around to see who did that, and was surprised to find Amy, Sticks, & Knuckles, who was carrying an unconscious Sonic in his arms. He quickly ordered them to have Sonic lay down on the medical table, and started typing on the monitor to perform a full body scan.
As it did that, Tails looked at them. "Tell me what happened?"
Amy was the first to speak. "We were all supposed to meet up at my place to test out my newest vegan recipe. Sticks & Knuckles showed up on time, but Sonic didn't. He usually comes fashionably late, but not that late, so we decided to go see what's taking him so long."
"When we got there, he was laying on the ground unconscious!" Sticks emphasized. "We checked his home, and luckily, there was no intruder so that ruled out on him getting knocked out."
"I volunteered to carry him since I'm the strongest, and now we're here so you can help him out," Knuckles finished.
"I'm no doctor, but I'll do the best I can see to see what's going on," Tails replied, as he looked at the list printed from the monitor. "According to these results, Sonic passed out from mild dehydration. He just needs to replenish his fluids and he'll be back to his normal-
He read the list again, eyes widened in shock as he scanned it repeatedly. He then performed another scan, and the list printed again. When he checked it, he remained silent as he looked back to his brother.
"Tails, is something wrong?" Amy asked, a hint of worry on her face. "Did you find something else related to Sonic's condition?"
He gulped, looking at the chart and back to Sonic. "T-The monitor picked up something else on why Sonic had been acting weird lately."
Sticks scowled. "I don't trust technology, but if something is causing Sonic to act weird, then I wanna know what it is!"
"Maybe he ate too much since his stomach is looking a little big," Knuckles pointed to Sonic's tummy.
Tails looked pale, and the others realized he found something serious. Checking the chart again, along with a full assessment on his brother, Tails cleared his throat and looked at them with a serious expression. "Besides dehydration, it shows he is 1 month along."
"1 month along?" Sticks raised her eyebrow in confusion.
Knuckles gaped in horror. "H-He's dying!?"
"No! Nothing like that!" Tails shook his head furiously. "It means Sonic has 8 more months left!"
"For what!? Just tell us, Tails!" Amy pleaded.
"Until his due date! Sonic is pregnant!"
