Now that baby Shion is born, the gang learned his father is Sir Lancelot, Knight of the Round Table, who also bears a resemblance to Shadow. Hopefully, the gang can keep Shion a secret from the villagers, Dr. Eggman, and Shadow. Since Shadow made a small appearance last chapter, he'll be appearing a bit more. Hope you all enjoy this chapter!

The scent of the ocean breeze felt nice, even though he experienced it every day. Now, Shion can experience it since he needs some sunlight. It's a beautiful day outside, and the whole gang decided to have a picnic near the beach. Amy took care of the food, Knuckles set up the blanket, Tails helped with the dishes, and Sticks is busy telling Shion a story.

"Thanks to me, they finally did a story on the water supply, so we'll never be short on water ever again!" Sticks finished, pointing at the sky, and then looked back at Shion. "The End."

Shion cooed at her, causing Sticks to aww and make silly faces at him. "Who's a cute little hedgehog? That's right. You are!"

Sonic held his little one close to his heart, nuzzling his nose. "Look at you. You already got Sticks wrapped around your finger. Now all that's left is Amy and the rest of the girls fawning over you."

"I heard that!" Amy called out. "He'll grow up to be a gentleman, not a player."

"You mean like a baseball player? I can definitely show him how to play baseball!" Knuckles replied.

"She means a different type of player, Knuckles," Tails explained. "But anyways, I think we forgot to pack the drinks."

"What!?" Amy checked inside the basket. "Oh no! I was so focused on getting the food done that I forgot to pick up some drinks from the market!"

"It's obvious aliens-

"Sticks! Knuckles! You're coming with me to get the drinks!" Amy grabbed their hands and dragged them over to the village.

Tails checked his arm. "Oh no! I left my communicator at the lab! Wait here for me, Sonic!"

He used his tails to fly over to his home, as Sonic got up from his seat and went back inside his house. "Looks like someone made a little accident. Luckily, I sniffed it before they left."

Removing the yellow blanket around Shion, he placed his baby on the changing station and started changing his diaper. After his experience with Chumley and practicing on how to change a baby's diaper, Sonic learned to get use to it. Plus, he used those clothes pin to plug his nose from the smell.

Once he was done cleaning him up and placing a fresh diaper on, he zipped up the onesie and picked him up, kissing his head. "There! All clean and smelling like fresh baby powder!"

Shion cooed at him, as Sonic placed him on the bed and wrapped him in a blanket so he could stay warm. Suddenly, they heard a loud explosion outside, causing Sonic to tense. He made sure Shion remained on the center of the bed so he wouldn't fall and rushed to investigate. When he opened the door, he was tackled to the ground.

Sonic looked up to see who was pinning him down, and his eyes widened to see crimson orbs glaring into his emerald eyes. "S-Shadow!? What are you doing here!?"

Shadow glared down at him. "Unfinished business."

"What are you talking about!?"

"You're hiding something powerful in here. So tell me where it is!"

Sonic struggled. "Get off me now!"

Loud whining was heard, causing Shadow to get distracted. This gave Sonic the chance to kick Shadow off of him and throw him against the wall. He used his super speed to snatch Shion from his bed and ran out of the house, holding him protectively as he tapped his communicator. "Guys! Big trouble! Shadow's here!"

"W-What!?" Tails yelled at his communicator while flying. "Where are you!?"

"Heading towards the other side of the island! I'm keeping him away from the village!"

"The others and I are close by! We'll meet you there!" Amy said, as she and the others headed off to find Sonic.

Sonic looked back, seeing Shadow gaining speed on him. He zigzagged around to lose him, but he's still on Sonic's tail. "Get away from me, Shadow!"

"Come back here and fight, you weakling! You're bringing shame to all hedgehog kind!" Shadow snarled, going faster to catch up to Sonic.

Then, Shadow jumped away to avoid a giant hammer trying to slam him. He then dodged a punch, along with a staff. He scoffed when he saw who it was. "Pathetic. Getting your weak friends to fight your battles for you?"

"Run, Sonic! We'll stall him!" Amy said, trying to hit Shadow with her hammer.

"Be careful!" Sonic called out to him, and continued to dash away from the fight while holding Shion close to him. "Don't worry, baby. I won't let him see you."

He spotted something on the sky, smiling widely as the plane flew closer to him, and he was able to jump on the passenger side as they were now out to the sea. "Right on time, bud!"

Tails nodded. "Is Shion okay?"

"He is. Luckily, Shadow didn't see him," Sonic softly shushed Shion, who was whining. "I hope the others can keep Shadow at bay. I still wish I was able to fight him."

"Not while you're recovering, and Shion is our top priority. We need to hide you both somewhere safe so Shadow won't find you."

"I think I have an idea, but you'll need to trust me on this."

Sobs escaped from Dr. Eggman's lips as he wiped his eyes with a tissue. Sitting on the couch in his living room with some snacks and his tv on, he yelled at the tv screen. "Beverly, what are you doing!? Can't you see Sir Adam loves you with all his heart!? You mustn't go back to Roderick! He's gonna betray you again!"

He blew his nose with a tissue, threw it in a nearby trashcan, and grabbed another one from the tissue box. "Go Lady Jenna! Smack some sense into Beverly to make her open her eyes and see her true love is standing in front of her this whole time!"

Eggman jumped when he saw his door destroyed, revealing a certain blue hedgehog carrying a yellow bundle in his arms. "Seriously!? Couldn't you knock first!? I was in the middle of my soap opera!"

"If anyone asks, I'm hiding in your bathroom!" Sonic sped inside into his lair.

"Hey! I didn't give you permission to come in!" Eggman waved his fist at him.

Sonic ignored him, as he continued to speed through the hallways. Tails will be busy distracting Shadow by making him think they went somewhere, so Sonic has to find a place to hide and lay low until Shadow gives up on finding them. Since Eggman's lair was the only solution, he's certain his enemy won't mind hiding here until the coast is clear.

He spotted a door nearby and went inside, closing it shut behind him and locking it. Sonic gently bounced Shion as he started to cry, softly shushing him as he scanned their surroundings. Looks like he's in the storage room where Eggman keeps so much of his junk in here. Or in better case, his broken robot pieces that were always destroyed by Sonic and his team.

The ground started to shake a bit, causing Sonic to run over to a large metal crate and hide behind it, hoping the darkness will camouflage them both. He could feel himself breathing heavily, feeling fear coursing through his quills. He took small breaths to keep himself calm, cradling his baby close to him.

Shion was able to calm down, but still let out some whimpers. Sonic placed a soft kiss on his cheek. "Don't be scared, my shooting star. Your papa is here."

He froze when he heard the door smashed open, indicating someone found this room. Sonic stood still as possible, keeping his mouth shut while crouched behind the metal crate. He held Shion as close as possible, praying he won't make a noise. Unfortunately, his prayers weren't answered when the metal crate was destroyed, revealing their presence.

Sonic spun around, backed against the wall as he held Shion protectively in his arms. His emerald eyes stared into a pair of fiery crimson eyes, glaring at him and the bundle in his arms. "I finally found you. There's nowhere for you to run and hide."

Shadow took a step forward, and Sonic took a step back. He tried to look for a way out, but knew it isn't possible with Shadow closing in on him. If he could try to get past Shadow and over to the door, he and Shion could escape and return to his friends as fast as he can.

Then, Dr. Eggman appeared in the doorway with Cubot & Orbot, holding a tray of cheese and crackers. "Pardon me Shadow for the intrusion, but after you defeat Sonic, would you like to join me in watching a lovely novella I'm watching?"

A chaos spear was shot on the wall next to Eggman, causing him to yelp and drop his plate. The loud noise frightened Shion, causing him to cry. Sonic quickly spun around so they wouldn't see him, and gently rocked him back and forth while shushing him. "Hey, it's okay. There's no need to be afraid. I'm right here."

Holding him close to his heart, Sonic hummed a small tune, which helped calm him down a little. His cries turned into whimpers, sniffing as Shion snuggled against his chest. Sonic softly smiled at him, and then gasped when a hand landed on his shoulder and spun him around, causing him to glare at the person. "Don't you dare hurt him, Shadow!"

Shadow, however, was stunned to see the bundle in Sonic's arms is actually a baby hedgehog. He couldn't see what the baby looked like due to the darkness, but figured out where the Chaos energy is coming from. It came from this baby, and his rival is the parent of this baby hedgehog.

Clenching his fists in anger, he slammed them both on the wall on either side of Sonic, trapping him. "Since when are you a parent, faker!?"

"H-Hey! You're the faker here!"

"Where did this baby came from!?"

"It's none of your beeswax!"

"Answer me, Sonic!"

"No!"

"Ooh! This is so much better than my novella!" Eggman munched on a cracker with cheese, sitting on the ground with his robots. "Though I have to say, I had no idea the blue menace is a father."

"I wanna see the baby!" Cubot flipped the light switch, causing all the lights to turn on.

The room brightened, and Shadow froze in shock when he saw Shion's appearance. Black quills with red stripes, tan muzzle, white chest fur, and paws like his. The only difference is Shion having the same emerald eyes like Sonic's. If his eyes were red, he would've been a mini version of Shadow.

Seeing Shadow distracted, Sonic pushed him off him and darted out of the room. He has to get out of here right now and away from them. He can't have them ask questions about Shion, where he came from, and why he resembles Shadow. As he got outside, he spotted the egg mobile nearby, and decided he can use it to get out of this place.

Roboken. Or Morristown. Either way, Sonic was glad they changed the name. As he landed the egg mobile in front of the robot village, he jumped off it and looked around. He then showed Shion. "Shion, this is Roboken. Your daddy, aunts, and uncles saved this place from that evil Dr. Eggman who tried to control the robots. It's a nice place, isn't it?"

Shion cooed, looking around in awe as Sonic saw something in the distance, waving at them. "Hey! Team Cybonic!"

Team Cybonic, who are robot duplicates of Sonic and his team, appeared in front of them. They were happy to see Sonic, but were surprised to see Shion. Cyborg Amy squealed at the sight of him. "What a cute little baby you have here!"

Sonic smiled, fondly looking at Shion. "Thanks. I'll tell you the whole story later, but I really need your help."

"What's wrong?" Cyborg Tails asked.

"Shion and I need a place to hide from a certain someone who is after me. I don't want him anywhere near my baby, so can you please help us?"

Cyborg Sonic gaped. "T-This is your baby? S-Since when!?"

"And how come we weren't invited to the baby shower?" Cyborg Knuckles folded his arms.

"Though this baby doesn't even look like you," Cyborg Sticks pointed out.

"He looks like his father who is no longer with us, which is why I need a place to-

Cyborg Sonic quickly pulled him away, avoiding a chaos spear near his feet. Sonic turned around, groaning in disbelief. "Oh come on! How'd you even knew I was here!?"

Shadow scoffed, folding his arms over his chest as he stood near the rocket where Eggman was. "Like I said, you can't escape from me forever." He stared at Sonic. "I want answers, and you'll give them to me right now!"

Dr. Eggman waved. "Me too! I must know when you became a parent, Sonic. Did you and Amy finally became parents?"

"It's none of your business! Now go away!" Sonic glared at them.

Cyborg Tails looked at Shion, and back at Shadow. "Is he your baby's father? They do look alike except for the eyes."

"Either way, we're not letting you two go near them!" Cyborg Sonic got into a battle stance, along with his team.

Shadow was getting angrier by the minute, and can't let Sonic escape from him again. Deciding to end the fight as quickly as possible, he used his chaos control to teleport to each opponent and knocked them out, until he stopped in front of Sonic and grabbed his arm to prevent him from escaping. "You're not going anywhere."

"I won't let you hurt my baby, Shadow!" Sonic struggled to get out of his grip.

"Do you honestly believe I would dare hurt a baby? I'm a villain, not a monster."

"Tell that to Eggman!"

"Hey! Your babysitting service prevented me from defeating you!" Eggman angrily shook his fist.

Shadow pulled Sonic closer until their noses were nearly touching, as Shion is held between them. "Give me answers on why he looks like me, or I will destroy this whole place." Shadow used his other hand to form a chaos spear. "Time is ticking."

Sonic growled, but had to stop when he heard Shion whimpering. He has no idea how his team is doing, and is hoping Shadow didn't hurt them. He also can't let Roboken be destroyed by him. He can't run like a coward forever.

"Okay," Sonic whispered. "But not here. We'll discuss this at my shack."

Shadow studied him for a minute, and then nodded. "Very well then."

He narrowly avoided a laser hitting him as he teleported himself, Sonic, and Shion out of Roboken. Dr. Eggman was left alone with 5 angry robots glaring at him, gulping as he placed his hands up in surrender. "I swear it was all Shadow's idea!"

Shion happily drank his milk from his bottle, unaware that the atmosphere is tense. Everyone was in Sonic's shack, and the team was glaring at Shadow, who is ignoring them and staring at Sonic feeding Shion. Shadow never thought he would see his rival act so tender and motherly towards a baby, specifically a pup who strangely resembles him. He may be cold-hearted, but he would never lay harm on innocent babies and children. It doesn't feel right.

Knuckles hissed, clenching his fists while covered in bandages from the pain. "Once I no longer feel pain, I'm gonna punch you so hard until you beg for mercy."

Sticks nodded, covered in bandages while glaring at Shadow. "If you dare lay a finger on our nephew, I'm gonna-

Amy covered her mouth, studying Shadow. "Why exactly were you after Sonic? Did Eggman told you a lie again?"

"And why so interested towards Shion? You never care about anything," Tails added.

Shadow rolled his eyes, ignoring them as he continued to stare at Sonic. "Faker, I want my answers. Remember your word."

Sonic sighed, as he continued to feed Shion. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you, Shadow."

"Try me."

"Alright then. I warned you."

Sonic told him the same story he told his friends, making sure to leave out parts of his attraction towards Lancelot, who resembles Shadow. As he continued to tell the whole story, Shadow didn't say anything and listened. Sonic was glad he wouldn't be interrupted, and paid attention to Shion as he finished feeding him and started burping him.

"After that, I was able to return back home. Next thing I knew is I was somehow pregnant, and gave birth to my little miracle," Sonic heard Shion burp, satisfied as he held him close and kissed his forehead. "As for his appearance, he got it from his father Lancelot, who is a knight of the round table."

Sonic looked over at Shadow, who had his eyes closed and is silent. "I know it's hard to believe, but what I told you is the truth. Ask my friends. They saw me give birth to Shion, and I even got an ultrasound from my doctor."

Shadow didn't say anything, and Sonic believed he is trying to process on what he was told. It lasted for a while, but he then opened his eyes as he looked at Shion, and Sonic swore he saw a hint of fondness in those eyes. "That would explain so much."

He took a few steps forward, and placed his hand on Shion's head. "I don't know how, but your pup is able to wield chaos energy like me." He looked back at Sonic. "Since you don't wield it, then it's possible the knight has it, transferring his energy and blood into him."

"Chaos energy?" Tails questioned, curious on what he meant.

"Something you'll never know, fox," Shadow glared at him, removing his hand from Shion as he glanced back at Sonic. "I'm amazed he has nearly the same amount like me. However, he needs to learn how to wield it once he gets older."

"Are you saying this chaos energy is dangerous for him?" Sonic questioned, concerned for his baby.

"Not if he is able to wield it. Luckily for you, you're looking at the only person who knows how to wield it."

"Wait, what are you saying?"

"In exchange for teaching him how to harness the power, you'll allow me permanent residence here in your home."

"…. WHAT!?"

And scene! Shadow made his appearance here, and he's already interested in little Shion. Now he wants to stay with Sonic in exchange for helping Shion with his chaos energy. We'll wait and see what the next chapter is like for them. Review and comment!
