Once upon a time, there was a race called saiyans, who lived on a planet called Vegeta-sei. They were very powerful, the strongest race in the universe. But they would conquer planets and sell them on the intergalactic black market to the highest bidder. They sent their weak babies to weak planets, and when they had reached adulthood, they would be brought back. But eventually, the universe had had enough, and Vegeta-sei was destroyed by a meteor. But there were a few survivors. Among them was a girl named Kakarot, who landed on a small, isolated planet called Earth.
She was taken in by an old man named Gohan, who would raise her as his granddaughter and rename her Goku. However, Goku was an incredibly rowdy child due to her saiyan nature. Luckily, Gohan was able to tame her, and she became a pure hearted girl. But unfortunately, Goku looked at the moon one night and transformed into a giant ape, a result of her saiyan heritage. While in this form, she crushed her adoptive grandfather. After she changed back, Goku spent the next 2 years of her life alone. This is where our story truly begins.
Chapter 1: Pilaf saga
On her 12th birthday, Goku was just minding her own business, hunting in the forest. Suddenly, she noticed a plane in the distance. Not knowing what a plane was, Goku ran towards that area. Once she arrived, she saw a blue haired woman and a long haired man with scars on his face exit the plane. The 2 were confused at seeing a little girl in the woods, but Goku introduced herself and told them her story. The people then explained who they were. The blue haired woman was a scientist named Bulma, and the long haired man was her husband Yamcha. Bulma was hunting for 7 magical orbs called the dragon balls, and Goku happened to have one.
Goku didn't want to give up the dragon ball since it was the only thing her grandfather had, but Bulma and Yamcha convinced her to come along in exchange for the dragon ball. And so, the party of 3 flew off. First, they were attacked by a pterodactyl, which Goku managed to kill using her Nyoibo staff. But the pterodactyl had damaged the ship greatly, and they had to make an emergency landing. After looking at the ship for a while, Bulma came to the conclusion that it was irreparable, and they would have to make the rest of the trip on foot.
While Bulma was distraught by this, Yamcha was actually excited to rough it up, as he had been an adventurer before meeting Bulma. Bulma then released a capsule house that the group made their temporary home. After Bulma taught Goku how women should behave, they all went to sleep. When they woke up, Goku went to go look for food, but when she tried to chop a rock out of boredom, she saw that it was a turtle. After killing a giant bear who wanted to eat the turtle, Goku brought him to Bulma and Yamcha. The turtle said that he had been looking for the sea for years, and Goku decided to take him back to the sea.
Once she had dropped the turtle off, he told Goku that he would bring his friend to thank her. He then left, and Bulma and Yamcha caught up to Goku. They asked why she had left with a turtle, and Goku explained everything that the turtle had told her. A while later, the turtle returned with an old man riding on his back. The man was wearing a bermuda shirt, sunglasses, and had a turtle shell on his back. The old man tried to grope Bulma's breasts as soon as he saw her, but Yamcha slapped his hands away. Bulma then noticed that the old man had a dragon ball on his neck, and demanded he give it to her. The old man however, said that he would only give them the ball if Bulma showed him her panties.
Bulma sighed, told Goku to cover her eyes, and then flashed her underwear. His nose bleeding, the old man gave them the dragon ball. After the group left, Bulma made it a point to tell Goku to avoid men like that. After this, the group would overcome many more adversaries, from the shapeshifting monster Oolong, to the dangerous dunes of the Diabolo Desert, and the raging inferno of Fire Mountain. During their time at Fire Mountain, the group learned that the perverted old man they had met before was actually Master Roshi, the greatest fighter in the world. They also got to see his power in action, as he put out the fire of Fire mountain with his Kamehameha wave, a blue beam of energy. Goku was able to perform this technique as well after only seeing it once. After this, the team defeated the evil rabbit mob, who were ruling a small village.
The group had only stopped for gas, but after Bulma had been turned into a carrot by the rabbit boss, Goku had killed him and his cronies easily. Now seeking to change Bulma back to normal with the wish, Goku and Yamcha then went to the final Dragon ball, which was in a castle. However, a group of 3 in a mecha touched down in front of them. The leader, a short blue imp man, explained that they were the Pilaf gang. The Pilaf gang had also been hunting the dragon balls, and wanted the ones that Goku and Yamcha had. The two heroes were easily defeated by the mech suit, but they were imprisoned in the Pilaf gang's castle instead of being killed.
This was a mistake, because when night struck and the pilaf gang were about to make their wish, Goku transformed into an Oozaru. In this form, Goku killed the pilaf gang by squishing all of them. Luckily, Yamcha was able to sneak away in the chaos and use the wish to change Bulma back. After the wish was made, Bulma and Yamcha spent the night hiding from Goku, until the sun came up and she changed back. Once that happened, the group tried to decide what they would do next. Bulma offered that Goku come live at her and Yamcha's place, and Goku agreed as she had grown quite fond of them. And so, the team began their long trek back to civilization.
Chapter 2: Capsule corp saga
Goku, Bulma and Yamcha had spent 3 days walking, and were tired, hungry and thirsty. All of their supplies having run out on their first journey, they appeared doomed. Just as Bulma prepared to accept death, she saw something in the distance. A flying figure then appeared and landed in front of our heroes. It was a young woman with shoulder length blond hair, crystal blue eyes, and blue armor which had a CC logo on it. Bulma and Yamcha were excited to see her, but Goku asked who she was. The woman asked the same about Goku, and Bulma explained about the adventure they had gone on.
The woman then explained that she was called Android 18, and was created by Bulma. 18 used to be a human, but she was kidnapped and experimented on by a mad scientist named Gero. Thankfully, Bulma had discovered this and got Gero arrested, and now 18 worked for Bulma. 18 then told everyone to grab onto her back so she could fly them back. They did, and 18 then lifted off. Goku was amazed at the fact that they were flying. Eventually, they arrived at a huge domed shaped complex with blue letters on the front that said; "Capsule Corp."
When 18 landed, the group got in and walked into the complex, and Goku was amazed. There were scientists working on all kinds of fantastic experiments. Suddenly, a 4 year old purple haired boy ran over to Bulma and hugged her. Bulma smiled, and introduced the boy to Goku. The boy's name was Trunks, and he was Bulma and Yamcha's son. He had the intelligence of his mother, and the adventurous spirit of his father. Goku shook the boy's hand, and was then given a tour of the capsule corp complex by Bulma, Yamcha and 18.
Goku was amazed by all the technology on display, she had never seen anything like this while she was living on Mount Paozu. Eventually they arrived at a large empty room. Bulma said that this was where 18 practiced with her power. Goku wanted to test it out, and that reminded Yamcha of something. He told Goku that a tournament was going to be held in 8 months called the Tenkaichi Budokai. Fighters from all over the world would be there to earn the title of strongest under the heavens.
Goku immediately wanted to join, and asked 18 if she could join too. 18 agreed, but only because of the cash prize. And so, Goku and 18 began training rigorously for the tournament. Goku wasn't nearly as strong as 18 initially, but she improved quickly. In fact, by the end of the training, she could have beaten the Pilaf gang's huge robot. And so after 8 months, Goku, Bulma, Yamcha, Trunks and 18 got into a plane and flew to the location of the tournament.
Chapter 3: World tournament saga
Our heroes landed on Paprika island, and they exited their plane. Goku was wearing a pink martial arts gi with the capsule corp logo on the back, and 18 was wearing her regular armor. As they looked around, they noticed a familiar face. It was Master Roshi, and a man that made 18 intrigued. He was a short bald man in his early 20s that had 6 dots on his head and was wearing an orange gi with a blue sash. She walked up to the man and introduced herself, and the man did the same.
His name was Krillin. He had once been a monk, but had left the temple and had been training with Roshi since he was 13. He and 18 quickly hit it off as they continued talking, however, the announcer called everyone to pull their numbers, so the group went to do so. Once the numbers were pulled, the tournament began. It was mostly a sweep for our heroes, but Krillin also showed off amazing power. There was also a mysterious old man named Jackie Chun there, and he was incredibly powerful,
The final 8 were Goku, 18, Krillin, Jackie, Giran, Nam, Ranfan, and Bacterian. The first match was Goku vs Giran, who was a small chubby dinosaur-like creature. The two were evenly matched in power, but Giran had a special technique. In the middle of the battle he fired a gum-like substance from his mouth that trapped Goku. Giran then walked up to Goku and prepared to throw her out of the ring. However, Goku let out a roar as she bursted out of the gum, and kicked Giran out of the ring. She was just too strong for him.
Next was Ranfan vs Krillin. Ranfan was a purple haired woman who had her hair in an afro and was wearing a blue shirt. She attempted to seduce Krillin, but his years of training under Master Roshi had disciplined him, and he kicked her out of the ring. Ranfan wasn't powerful, just tricky.
Next was Jackie Chun vs Bacterian. Bacterian was a large, fat fighter who smelled terrible. As soon as Jackie entered the ring, he covered his nose in disgust. Bacterian laughed and began walking towards him, ready to knock the old man out of the ring. However, Jackie then kicked Bacterian, sending him flying out of the ring.
The final match of the round was 18 vs Nam. Nam was a tall man with brown skin, a long face, a small red dot on his forehead, a white turban and an orange and maroon robe. Nam got into a fighting stance without saying a word, and 18 did the same. After a few seconds of silence, 18 let out an air punch, which instantly eliminated Nam. 18 was just too strong.
After the battle, everyone went to bed, and the next day the semi-finals began. Everyone was excited to test themselves.
The first battle was Goku vs Krillin. Both fighters were strong, but Krillin was more experienced and overall stronger. But Goku had a trick up her sleeve. As Krillin was about to land the finishing blow, Goku bit his hand. Krillin yelled in pain, and Goku took this opportunity to kick him out of the ring. Krillin mumbled under his breath and walked off in defeat.
The next match was Android 18 vs Jackie Chun. Chun immediately tried to cop a feel, however an outraged 18 then smacked him upside the head, knocking him out of the ring immediately.
After the match, Chun came up to 18 and after apologizing for his behavior, he explained that he was actually Roshi in disguise. He also asked 18 to beat Goku for him. He saw a lot of potential in that girl, and he didn't want her to become arrogant. 18 agreed.
The next day, the final match was held: Goku vs 18. The 2 then stepped into the ring and bowed to each other, a deep respect having formed between them. And afterwards, the fight began. And while it was a very exciting match, the outcome was obvious. 18 defeated Goku and won the tournament. But Goku wasn't bothered by this, and vowed to defeat 18 next time.
Chapter 3: King Piccolo saga
After the tournament, everyone decided to eat at a restaurant to cool off. However, as they were eating, Goku realized that she forgot her Nyoibo staff at the tournament. Yamcha offered to go get it, and he did. However, 20 minutes passed and Yamcha didn't return. Concerned, the group went to check if Yamcha was ok, and what they saw horrified all of them.
Yamcha was lying on the floor dead. Bulma and Trunks burst into tears when they saw the body, and Goku was enraged. The terrified Tournament announcer then ran up and explained that a green monster swooped in, killed Yamcha and stole the list of the fighters. Roshi then picked up a card that the creature left behind and remarked that it couldn't be.
Everyone asked what he meant, and Roshi explained that the symbol on the card was the symbol of the demon king Piccolo, an evil being who had ravaged the earth 300 years prior. Roshi had battled Piccolo and lost horribly to him. Even Roshi's master Mutaito stood no chance. After being defeated, Mutaito left in disgrace.
Following Mutaito's disappearance, Roshi had completely given up and was just waiting for death. However, Mutaito eventually did return, and had spent his time away looking for a way to stop Piccolo, and he had in the form of a technique, the Mafuba. With it, he had sealed Piccolo away at the cost of his own life.
Following the battle, the rice cooker Piccolo had been sealed in had been thrown into the ocean. Krillin asked who could've released him, but no one knew. Goku wanted to go after the monster right away, but 18 told her that they needed to rest up first. Reluctantly, Goku agreed, and they all returned to eating.
Once they were done and had rested, Goku and 18 went after the monster that had killed Yamcha, and proceeded to kill him easily. However, the demon king Piccolo appeared soon after, having sense the death of his asexually produced offspring. Goku and 18 attempted to fight the demon king, but were easily defeated and left for dead. However, 18 soon after woke up and lifted her and Goku off.
Meanwhile, Roshi and Krillin had gathered the dragon balls and attempted to summon Shenron. Unfortunately, Piccolo had followed with the one who freed him, a small bald ugly man named King Gurumes. Roshi attempted to seal Piccolo away with the Mafuba technique that his master used, however he missed the rice cooker and died due to the technique.
An enraged and desperate Krillin attempted to lunge at the demon king to avenge his master, but was knocked out and seemingly dead as well. Piccolo then summoned Shenron and wished for eternal youth. The wish was granted, and the demon king laughed as his youth and full power were restored. He then killed Gurumes, no longer having any use for him.
While this was all happening, 18 found a strange tower in the woods. She landed in a small building at the top of it and put Goku down. As 18 pondered on what to do next, she heard a voice. She looked and noticed a talking bipedal cat with a staff. 18 asked who he was, and the cat said his name was Korin, a great martial arts master and guardian of the land they were in.
Korin said that he had seen everything that had been going on on earth. He offered the 2 water that he said could make whoever drank it incredibly strong, but it might also kill them. 18 wasn't interested, but Goku agreed to try. She drank the water, but immediately collapsed in pain. For the next few hours, 18 stayed by Goku's side as she writhed in pain.
Meanwhile, King Piccolo appeared at the king of the world's castle, killing his guards and deposing him. As soon as Piccolo became the king, he abolished the police force and released every criminal out on the streets. Riots and mayhem ruled the streets, and people lived in fear. There was nothing any of the heroes could do to stop it. They were too weak.
Thankfully, Goku recovered from her drinking the ultra divine water, and when she did she and 18 went to the king's castle. King Piccolo was shocked to see the two alive, but then sicced his new son Drum on them. However, 18 then engaged Drum in battle, while Goku fought King Piccolo. Surprisingly, the ultra divine water had made Goku even stronger than 18, and she and King Piccolo were equally matched.
18 and Drum meanwhile were dead even, trading violent blows. Drum was frustrated that 18 was matching him, and this made his attacks start to be sloppy, which 18 eagerly exploited. She attacked the large child of Piccolo with a punch to the gut, a kick into the air, and finally a blast of energy to finish him off.
With Drum dead, 18 watched as Goku and Piccolo battled. The hero and villain went at each other, striking thunderus blows against each other. Kamehamehas and demon waves flew everywhere. Eventually, the 2 were left exhausted, and Piccolo flew into the air, charging another demon energy wave.
In response, Goku began charging a kamehameha. The 2 attacks clashed spectacularly, and were evenly matched. However, 18 then intervened, firing her own energy blast that allowed the two to overpower Piccolo and kill him. While the two had won, with the dragon balls destroyed, it was seemingly impossible to bring the deceased back.
Chapter 4: Saiyan saga
After the battle with King Piccolo, the other heroes went to Goku and 18, including Krillin, who had been brought to Korin's tower by a fat samurai named Yajirobe, and had been given a green senzu bean that had healed his injuries. After everyone caught up with each other and learned of the other's struggles, they all went their separate ways. Goku, Bulma and Trunks returned to Capsule Corp, and 18 and Krillin moved to their own home, having a daughter named Marron.
During this time, Trunks began training with Goku to prevent anyone close to him from dying ever again. Goku herself also kept training, but also began to explore the city and learn city life at Bulma's request. 5 years after King Piccolo's death, Goku was almost 18 and looked fully grown, and Trunks was 9 years old and extremely strong for his age. However, a new threat was lurking in the stars.
When Vegeta-sei had been destroyed, there were other survivors besides Goku. They were Nappa, King Vegeta's bodyguard, Prince Vegeta, who had been sent off world when his father had first detected the asteroid, and Raditz, Goku's older brother. The 3 had become space pirates that pillaged worlds after the destruction of their homeworld, and had now set their sights on earth.
Raditz was the first to arrive on earth, landing in a populated area, which alerted the heroes. Goku, 18 and Krillin all flew to meet the saiyan, and when they touched down, Raditz recognized Goku instantly. When Goku was confused after Raditz called her brother, Raditz explained their relation and about the saiyan race in general. Goku remembered her grandfather telling her that she had come from the stars, and realized Raditz was right.
However, she still refuses to join the saiyans, and the 3 heroes fight Raditz. While the saiyan was stronger than all of them individually, their combined power easily overwhelmed and defeated him. However, Raditz informed them that the saiyans would be coming in 3 months right before he died. Upon hearing this, the 3 heroes began training intensely. Once the saiyans arrived, Vegeta gave Goku one final chance to join the saiyans. Goku refused and the fight began.
Goku fought Vegeta, and 18 and Krillin fought Nappa. Unfortunately, even with Goku's training, Vegeta was just a little stronger than her, and began to overwhelm her. However, 18 and Krillin were able to overpower Nappa and ultimately kill him. They then went to Goku and Vegeta's fight, and when they saw Goku being overpowered, they jumped in to help.
The heroes finally began to overpower Vegeta, and the prince of saiyans was enraged by this. Yelling about how he was a saiyan super elite, he flew into the air and prepared a Galick Gun. In response, the heroes began charging a triple Kamehameha. The 4 fired their beams, and they locked. The struggle was fierce, and was even, until the heroes let all their power into it. This was able to overpower and nearly kill Vegeta.
With the saiyan prince lying on the ground defeated, Krillin prepared to deliver the killing blow. However, Goku stopped him, wanting to fight Vegeta again someday. After contemplating for a bit, Krillin reluctantly agreed. Vegeta attempted to summon his space pod to retreat, but Krillin destroyed the remote. Vegeta wouldn't be going anywhere.
And so, the prince of all saiyans would grow acclimated to earth life, sharing a rivalry with Goku. Upon hearing of the hero's past, Vegeta also revealed that there were rumors of dragon balls on a planet called Namek. However, Bulma said that there was no way they could ever get to Namek at a reasonable speed. But Vegeta said they could repurpose his space pod, and a strange black genie appeared behind Bulma.
The genie, who was riding a carpet, said his name was Mr Popo, the attendant of the former guardian of earth Kami. Popo explained that Kami was the same species as King Piccolo, and when Piccolo died, Kami died too, as the 2 were life linked. However, Kami had a spaceship which might be able to help them. Bulma realizes that that could work, and so begins fixing Kami's ship.
After 3 months, the ship was finished, and Goku, Vegeta and Bulma were the ones to go. During this time, Goku and Vegeta got to know each other more. When the ship eventually arrived on Namek, the 3 were met with a green sky and blue grass. Goku and Vegeta flew across the planet, and eventually found a Namekian village. Goku was weary at first, but then she saw that unlike Piccolo, the Namekians were kind.
After the situation was explained to them, the namekians helped gather the dragon balls, and once they were all collected the dragon was summoned. The namekians explained that the dragon, Porunga, could grant 3 wishes, but they had to be spoken in the namekian language. Goku then asked the namekians to use the first two wishes to bring back Yamcha and Roshi, and the final wish to bring her, Vegeta and Bulma home.
The namekians granted her requests, and the wishes were made. When the heroes returned, they had a joyous reunion with their fallen friends. Roshi and Yamcha were introduced to Vegeta, who grunted and crossed his arms, looking away. When hearing from Mister Popo about how the earth had no guardian, Roshi decided to train to become one, believing he had taught his student Krillin all he could.
After a farewell, Roshi hopped on Popo's carpet, and the 2 flew away. As for everyone else, they returned to their normal lives. Bulma and Trunks were ecstatic to have Yamcha back, and Yamcha was happy to be home at last. Peace had returned to the earth…
Chapter 5: Son-Chan and the Vegetable Prince
3 years after the battle with Vegeta, earth had been peaceful. No threats to speak of, and Roshi had become the guardian of earth. Yamcha and Bulma were urging Goku to find a husband and settle down, however she didn't like the idea of dating someone she didn't even know, and had started feeling an attraction towards Vegeta, and vice versa.
The two would end up being brought together when Bulma had discovered a planet with 3X earth's gravity, which would allow them to train better. However, on the planet, the two would end up confessing their love to each other and "marrying" in saiyan tradition. Bulma didn't exactly approve of this, but realized it was what Goku wanted and allowed it.
Chapter 6: The Vegetable family and the boy from another world
Another 3 years later, Goku and Vegeta had their own home, and Goku had pretty much stopped training so she could focus on her relationship. However, Goku had begun to feel sick over a couple of weeks, and she would discover that she was pregnant. She didn't tell Vegeta at first out of fear it would ruin their relationship, but he eventually found out.
The prince was happy to learn that he was going to become a father, and over the next 9 months he would tend to Goku's every need, including her mood swings and cravings. Eventually Goku would give birth to their son, who Vegeta would name Cabba. The next 3 years flew by, as Goku had completely given up on being a fighter so she would be a good mother for Cabba.
One day, a strange machine appeared in a wasteland, and inside it was a purple haired young man with a capsule corp jacket and a sword. The boy looked around, confused. He wondered why no one was there. After a while, the boy flew to capsule corp to get answers. However, Roshi had already telepathically contacted Bulma and told her about the boy, who had amazing power.
When the boy arrived, Bulma was already waiting for him. He asked about stuff, and what he said left Bulma very confused. When Yamcha and Trunks came out of the building to see what was going on, the boy looked shocked. He then asked Bulma for an explanation of everything that had happened since she met Son Goku. Bulma explained everything, and when she was done, the boy was even more shocked. So, he decided to explain his story.
The boy came from an alternate universe, 20 years removed from this one. He had come to warn his timeline's warriors of two malicious androids created by Dr Gero who would kill them all in 3 years, but unfortunately the untested time machine had sent him to an alternate world. He then asked if Bulma had 18's blueprints from Gero, and she said that she did.
Bulma gave the boy the blueprints, which she had confiscated from Gero's lab when she had first found him and 18. The boy thanked her, and went back to his time machine. With a final wave, the boy vanished. In his world, the boy and his mother were able to create a shutdown remote and destroy his androids, but as he was going to go back to the other world to tell Bulma he won, he was ambushed and killed by a bug-like humanoid.
The humanoid then went into the time machine, and after activating the machine that hadn't been correctly set, the bug creature and the time machine disappeared. Where they went, no one knows…

Author's note: Hello, I bet you're wondering many things about this story. Let me explain. I first had the idea to write this story when I read the fanfiction "Son-chan and the vegetable prince" by Suhyo. It's a 19 year old fanfic, and I encourage you to read it for yourselves. The sequel to this fanfic, "The vegetable family", had many severe age differences along with what we had already seen in the previous fanfic. For example, Bulma is 15 years older than Goku and 16 years older than Vegeta. So my mind made up a scenario for a backstory to that universe, birthing this fanfic. I also decided to make this the unseen timeline the OG timeline Trunks traveled to for reasons. I hope you enjoyed this, and if you want I can make a sequel fic that has the movie villains show up.
