Naruto has a family?

To my surprise, I found him outside the academy still working on his shurikenjutsu; it looked like he pocketed a couple extra shuriken in case of a situation like this. I made my first approach to the boy, who seemed extremely focused on what he was doing, completely uncharacteristically from what he was doing in the academy a couple hours prior. It seems as though once he starts to focus on something that he will need in the future, he really tries to hone in on it. Good to see that he is actually serious about being a ninja. As I watched from a distance, I realized that with each throw he was hitting the board, inching closer to getting a couple lucky bullseyes, but overall getting more consistent with the technique. Time to make my presence known. "Ahem" I said, but I completely startled poor Naruto, making him turn around and almost hit me with the shuriken. Luckily, on my end it ended up hitting the tree that was behind me. "Hey Kaito, you scared me there! Why are you here?" He responded to me, he looked like he had been there for an extra half an hour, the sweat was dripping off of him.

Time to make another ally. A new brother.

To my surprise talking to Naruto was more straightforward than I intentionally thought it was, considering him being the hyperactive ninja; prankster king of Konoha. He had no active family; being thrown into an orphanage that didn't want him, and was still to my dismay, actively scorned throughout all of the village. Time to throw in a curveball. I smiled to myself in my mind. This change was necessary and it would definitely change the tide of things to come, but I was more than willing to create a different future to help out our family. The both of us were talking about shurikenjutsu and different techniques to hit bullseyes without any trouble. Although he was quite reluctant at first from me offering a helping hand to help him hit the target more consistently due to him "being the next hokage" put him in a place where he didn't need any help. After hitting a bottlehead in his progression after 10 minutes he went to me for help. I offered him some help, hinting towards his rigid posture and his arm extension being the keys toward not being consistent.

We were there at the training ground for a while. It was the late afternoon and the heat was coming down on us, deciding it was best to call it a day, Naruto and I were about to leave. Maybe it was luck, but, after all the time I had spent with him refining his mechanics of throwing shurikens; he did eventually warm up to me.

After walking over to the target, where Naruto had previously had thrown into, having hit the board with all of his shuriken, going 5 for 10 on bullseyes, I simply observed, "You made really good progress today, maybe within a couple weeks you'll be the top of the class." it was sizzling out, and the cast iron shuriken were hot to touch, almost like lava melting your skin.

[Perk Unlocked: Instructor]

Sweet, I wonder how this will help me out? Could it be that others progress faster due to me teaching them? I'll have to check this out later.

Naruto was grinning ear to ear, with the foxy smile plastered to his face, "You really think so? I can't wait to see the look on Sasuke-teme's face when I beat him! Dattebayo!" He was jumping in a controlled manner, but the excitement was evident, him having the one up on Sasuke was something that he had a lot of pride in.

I eventually added on, giving him a thumbs up, "Let's call it a day, we have school tomorrow; and while training is good, we don't want to completely overwork ourselves. Dinner is important, you know?" It got through to him, he nodded absently and calmed down. I did my best to try and remind him that beating Sasuke was a prolonged battle, and bring him back to earth. But, truth be told; he was a shinobi through and through; his potential was unmatched, as I saw with my own two eyes what he could do. It was getting late, as dusk was about to start to settle in the Village Hidden in the Leaves.

Naruto's expression changed from happy, to uncertain and shy, "Hey, Kaito.." he paused "Do you want to go to Ichiraku's with me for dinner? And can we do this again?" For him it was like all the weight of the world was loaded on this question, for he, himself, had no prior real friends; civilians would stray away from him. For the first time in his life someone extended a helping hand, that wasn't his Jiji.

I myself, smirked; and put my hand on his shoulder, "For sure, anything for family and a new friend." I had successfully pulled him back into reality; and without any doubt or uncertainty he was back to being excited and cheerful. I could feel curiosity brimming up with him when I added 'family' to what I said. He had quite the intriguing look on his eyes and face when I brought that up.

Naruto, to my surprise didn't question me all the way to Ichiraku's about the 'family' thing, I decided that it would be best for me to bring it up once we got to ramen restaurant, to give him a little piece of the puzzle to really understand how we are related on the grand scale of things. He was content that I was his new, and first real friend; that had helped him out with throwing shurikens. When no other teacher would point out his flaws or correct him no less!

Upon our arrival to the small quaint ramen shop located in the shopping district of Konoha, while civilians were still giving us a wide berth; instead of the glares filled with hatred, they were replaced with disbelief. Questions like 'Why is the prince walking with the Demon?' were thrown in our direction as we passed by. Despite being used to this most of his life, Naruto, was somewhat questioning why I was walking proudly by his side without any qualms. I remained in control, without letting any of my anger towards the civilians seep out of me. We finally made it to the small, yet cozy restaurant.

Naruto was eager to get some ramen in his system after the long day training, he hopped in the chair and called out, "Hey old man Teuchi! Get me some miso ramen, and keep 'em coming, today is a special day!" I slipped into my chair right beside him, intrigued by his antics; keeping my best stoic look on my face.

I heard a voice that was carried over the counter, to my mind registered to Teuchi, "Alright Naruto, anything for my best customer! Ayame will bring the order out soon, what's the special occasion?" As he was done talking he peered over the counter, to catch and see the hyperactive ninja, and to his surprise me; the Prince of the Senju, Konoha's royalty. He eventually asked, "Is there anything I can get you young man? I'm Teuchi, nice to meet you."

As my steel gray eyes scanned over the menu, deep in thought over what I should order; before deciding on the chicken ramen, my eyes went towards Teuchi. Before introducing myself, I reached my hand out over the counter to shake his hand, "Hi Teuchi, my name is Kaito Senju, nice to meet you. I would like to have 2 bowls of chicken ramen, unlike this hyperactive knucklehead to the right of me." Teuchi shaked my hand, nodded, and had to stifle a laugh after my remark about Naruto. I could hear Ayame laughing in the back, while Naruto looked semi-pissed; but not caring too much. After all, his coveted ramen was about to be supplied.

After that quick exchange, Ayame greeted the both of us, and gave our order to us. Naruto, much to his name, ended up going through multiple bowls of ramen as if he was a thirsty dog. I'd have to admit, Ichiraku's was quite the spot to get ramen, although it was unhealthy, I'd have to sneak in a couple meals here and there to relive the taste sensation that I was experiencing.

I had thanked Teuchi and Ayame both for the wonderful meal, and service. It was getting late, and we were both ready to leave; after I had offered to pay for the both of us. I was met with some resistance by Naruto, but I had managed to win him over by simply stating that it was for "being my training buddy for the day, and towards a new friendship". We bid our farewells to the ramen chef and his daughter as we proceeded to go our separate ways for the night.

I was just about to walk away and make my way to my house, before I realized that I almost forgot something very important. Gotta tell the idiot that we are 'family' in a way. Sucks that I can't take him into the house, but having him over to train and spend time with will have to suffice. Better late than never. As he was slowly moving towards his apartment, with the orange sun glazing over the Hokage mountain casting his outline in the distance; I simply called out to him.

"Naruto…" I paused as he turned around and looked into my eyes with a questioning gaze. I closed the distance and moved towards him in the street. "We need to talk about what I said earlier. Most likely where prying ears won't reach us." In a muffled tone, just to make sure no one else would breach our discussion of things to come. He simply nodded and we walked towards his apartment as day turned into night in Konoha.

As we made our way into his small, homey, yet dingy apartment in the red light district of Konoha. Just as Naruto opened the door, I made my way to his living room. I made sure to push my chakra through the wood floor of his apartment to sense any intruders right before he shut the door behind him.

[Skill Level Up: Sensory Scan - Lvl 5]

Sweet, I haven't been able to level this up as much as I wanted to. Looks like there is some Anbu stationed just outside of his house. Some of the signatures are harder to pick up than the others. There's also another darker force out there. Root? Shit. Can't spill all the beans then, I guess it's better this way.

Naruto made his way to the couch and sat down across from me, seemingly ready to explode. And he sure did. "Alright Kaito, what does all this 'family' stuff mean between me and you? Are we related in some way? Why AM I IN AN APARTMENT WHILE YOU ARE THE PRINCE OF KONOHA?" He punched his coffee table pretty hard after that outburst.

Oh shit, looks like he had enough time to speculate what was really going on then. Being ostracized since birth due to being the demon container didn't help him out. His emotions seemed really bottled up. Maybe he wasn't the same Naruto in the verse?

I looked directly into his eyes with a stern look, "Alright. I need you to calm down first." I felt as if my eyes were piercing through his soul. I channeled some chakra after to get an added effect.

[Skill Level Up: Bloodlust Lvl- 4]

Sorry, you were being an idiot again. Don't make me do that again.

Naruto immediately started to tense up, "Alright okay, I'll listen. Just don't do that again" Naruto responded, slightly sweaty.

I shook my head, I got him to regain his cool again. Time for a history lesson. I hope he gets the closure he needs. I can't proceed further than this. Then I proceeded to dive deeper, "The Uzumaki and Senju were two of the most powerful clans to walk the Elemental Nations. They both were united together with Hashirama Senju and Mito Uzumaki's marriage. For some reason that I don't know of both clans while powerful and feared began to die out. So in some way we are family; lost clansmen to two of the greatest clans in history. You are more than welcome to come to the Senju compound to train or hang out with me, brother." I patted him on the shoulder, letting him know that I really meant each word.

Naruto was blown back by my statement, like it was a revelation that he didn't understand one bit. He then simply started to tear up, and began to slightly sob. Once he put the pieces of the puzzle together he managed to get out, "So. So. I'm the last of a great clan that died out? Why didn't Jiji tell me? Isn't that my birthright?" tears staining his face, evidently distrubed of this information.

I had to hug the poor kid, I pulled him in and told him simply, "Like I said Naruto, being notorious and feared throughout the Elemental Nations puts a target on your back. He was possibly waiting for a better time to tell you so that you were properly prepared to defend yourself." I stopped for a minute, he was easing up. Tears were ceasing to cascade down his face. His sobs were long forgotten.

Time to inspire him.

I poked him on his head, and looked into his blue eyes, "I never asked to be Tobirama Senju's son. But I do my best to live up to both my father's legacy, and the Senju's. Be the best Uzumaki to ever live. And I'll be the best Senju to ever live."

He looked right back at me, with all of his energy seeming to blast off of him, putting his fist into the air, proudly exclaiming "THAT'S A PROMISE, DATTEBAYO!"

Still the same old idiot. Where does he get all this energy from? Damn Fox.
