Scribbles - although nowatimes considered both playmates and servants - have recently started to cause problems for everyone playmates of the scribbles.
As the scribbles (infant thoughts as they are) lacks the concept of time their playmates (including Mac and Bloo) gets stuck in a time-loop when interacting with the scribbles.

A busload of kindergarten kids then hauls next to the mansion apparently on some form of schooltrip.
The kindergarten children, with many a similarities with babies, but with the dissimilarity of having learned the concept of time; so frees (finds) all fantasy creatures locked into their hide & seek-mode.
Having the hide & seek-game ended some (Frankie; Mr. Herriman) denied the scribbles to interact with the others and in finding a new trade, even if it would take a long long time for the scribbles to redecorate the mansion Mac, figured that they might as well get on with it (as they simply can't not be done in time).
Before letting either the scribbles or some architects (brought about to the mansion as of their conference ('Foster's Conference Center for Imaginary Friends')) transform the mansion the kindergarten children, on the backside of the architects design "maps", then is painting some cephalopods which, when given life, is a bit like scribbles although with the ability to disintegrate more advanced concepts.
The scribbles; cephalopods; Mac; Bloo; and the rest of the gang then lives together wihout problimo until one day - the cephalopods suddenly disappears. It seems they have no longer life-span than of a year.
Mac's father is a construction worker and so; on the backside of some design "maps", Mac's little brother (9-years-old) then paints gastropods (magfotingar) and as they morph with 'Foster's Man-sion' it got redecorated; gastropods got to teach meta-physics at the mansion; and the mansion got some new permanent residents (playmates) as the gastropods could live forever.
