**The following is a written trailer for a hypothetical Halo show that would have actually been faithful to the source material.**
A blaring alarm wails through the dark metal corridor. Soldiers sit behind crates that have been hastily moved to form a barrier, aiming their assault rifles towards a dark corner. They know not what is coming for them. All they know is that something is heading their way.
A soldier shifts nervously. He looks young - a teenager, possibly. Sweat drips down his face. He peers forward. This will be his first time facing proper combat.
The camera pans slowly toward the dark corner. It is silent, save for the blaring alarm.
Then a great hulking figure comes charging through the shadows, and all hell breaks loose.
Chaos erupts in the hallway. A woman screams as purple spikes riddle her chest - the young man from before screams for a medic as he fires his weapon. A brilliant-blue explosion sends crates scattering. Another explosion destroys a section of the wall, and soldiers are sucked out into the dark void of space.
A call to abandon ship rings out, barely audible above the screeching alarm. Soldiers scramble, fleeing their posts, as the unseen enemy continues to lay waste to their numbers. A soldier crawls over the body of a fallen comrade, scrambling into an escape pod. Several others join, and pod launches off of the main ship.
Drop pods falling through space. One by one, they are picked off, destroyed in an explosion of green fire.
The shot changes to the inside of a pod, from the perspective of someone inside. The soldiers are all terrified: one bows her head in silent prayer; another fumbles with his dog tags; and the third rocks back and forth in his seat, mumbling incoherently to himself. Camera pans briefly down to a pair of heavily-armored legs as an explosion sends the pod spinning. Darkness.
The camera continues to follow this unknown soldier's perspective as they open their eyes, face-down in the dirt. They stand up, and an armored hand reaches down to pick up the helmet that had fallen off their head. Only the back of the helmet is visible, but it is distinct: dark jungle-green, and set to cover the whole head. As they put the helmet on over their head, a nearby soldier asks: "Where are we?"
As the camera pans up to reveal the Halo ring, the first few notes of "One Final Effort" echo, and the Halo logo appears.
