Chapter 8
Adrien carried with the help of the bodyguard the transport box into his bedroom, then Adrien pointed across the room at Kagami, which had the bathroom door open and was adjusting for the puppies a large bed with covers for them to sleep together.
„Be careful with the carpet on the front of the bed," Warned Adrien walking backward with the box as he passed over the carpet, followed by the bodyguard. Kagami got out of the bathroom to watch the two men approach the door, then Adrien took off his hands and watched the bodyguard enter and place it beside the bed.
„Thank you, we'll open the box afterward," Said Adrien making the bodyguard nod, which left the bathroom. „Good night,"
„This should be good enough for the night," Mentioned Kagami making the blonde nod. „There are additionally some incontinence covers on the ground. I don't think they're gonna go at the shower for their deeds,"
„They sure going to need training, but that will be up to the new owners then?" Questioned Adrien making Kagami shrug her shoulders.
„We sure may need to work with them as well, until they're adopted by their new owners. This is the best thing we have to offer now. Teaching them to use Shadow's litter box won't be working for all of them,"
„Where's Shadow actually?" Questioned Adrien curious, then Kagami pointed at the wall.
„When your mother went to give Elliot a goodnight kiss he lied there on the bed. It's alright if he sleeps there," Answered Kagami making Adrien nod, then the blonde got down to open the door of the box to see two pups slowly crawl out of the box looking around the large bathroom.
„That will be an adventure for them," Mentioned Adrien observing the third puppy bite the ear of the second one to throw him down to play.
„I think for now on they will be wasting their energies before they can lie down to sleep," Said Kagami getting up, while Adrien observed the playing puppies. „And you could use some sleep too, for tomorrow," Commented Kagami making Adrien wide his eyes at his wife's comment.
„Oh right, I totally forgot about it," Confessed Adrien doing a facepalm, then Kagami grabbed his hand to put it down.
„Don't worry, you'll do just fine," Commented Kagami. „I believe in you,"
„Thank you," Responded Adrien, then walked out followed by the woman, and closed the door.
A while later the couple had gotten dressed ready to sleep and lied inside the bed together. From the inside of the bathroom, a few puppies began to yowl, making Kagami open her eyes and look at the closed door.
„Should have seen it coming," Spoke Kagami passing her hand in front of her face, afterward Adrien sat up while yawning and looked at the door.
„Is this the phase, that they'll miss their mother?" Questioned Adrien making Kagami nod.
„We'll need to give them attention. Distract them from their pain. The good thing about their age is, that it will only last a few days," Kagami explained. „Of course the timing for us was perfect," Commented the Japanese woman sarcastically, then Adrien stood up and walked across the bedroom towards the desk, then spotted lying on the laptop case the two kwamis Plagg and Longg, which were sleeping with their heads against the other. Adrien nudged Plagg on the head to wake him up, then Plagg glanced up at the adult, then frowned as he heard a strange noise.
„What is that crying?" Questioned Plagg.
„It's a long story," Commented Adrien. „I had to take home the puppies Shiryoku conceived behind our back with some other dog,"
„You're not planning to use me as their bait, aren't you?" Questioned Plagg crossing his arms making Adrien shake his head.
„No, I have another idea. I just need to transform into Cat Noir," Explained the Frenchman making the kwami shrug his arms, waiting for his holder to activate the miraculous. „Plagg, claws out!" Shouted Adrien turning into the superhero Cat Noir, then he moved towards the bathroom door Kagami had just opened aside to see the puppies in the middle of the room whining.
„Why are you wearing your suit?" Questioned Kagami confused, then her husband got down on his knees to obtain the attention of the puppies and held out his hand. A brown puppy walked towards Cat Noir's hand to smell it, then he held up the dog close to his face to give it a reassuring smile and cackled as the puppy licked the man on the nose.
„What about sleeping, my little boy?" Questioned Cat Noir. „We all need a lot of energy tomorrow,"
„I think the boy is this one here," Spoke Kagami grabbing the second puppy, while uncovering his bare area making Adrien grin a little cheeky.
„Come I'll show you how comfy the bed is we made for you all," Introduced Cat Noir getting into the cover, then lied down as if he was a cat, then placed the dog beside him, which walked around Cat Noir's head and leaped at his head to grab the fake-ear with his teeth. „Thank goodness it's not my real one," Commented Cat Noir, then two darker pups got onto the covers to bite the other ear, making the blonde giggle and his wife admired the four pups going onto her husband to play with him.
„I don't think, they're interested in sleeping for now," Mentioned the Japanese woman.
„But for now on, they're not whining anymore," Pointed the blonde out, turning around the covers, thereafter three puppies left Cat Noir's ears to go down to his neck to analyze the bell and the male brunette grabbed the bell with his teeth, trying to pull it away. The puppy on Kagami's hands tried to get out of there and Kagami placed her down to watch her run up at the belly of Cat Noir, then sat up over his chest to look at the siblings playing around the man's head. The third black-colored puppy leaped from the head down at Adrien's face to lick his cupid's bow, which wasn't covered by the mask causing the blonde to laugh. As well, Kagami was admiring the cute scene between her husband and the puppies, afterward, she lied on the side to watch them continue to play waiting for the dogs to get exhausted.
The next day, the kids of our former superheroes were attending the last lesson of the morning at the class of Mrs. Donner. The children were having math together and had the task to calculate numbers together. This time, their sheet was constructed a little different, than they had seen the first time.
Mrs. Donner passed by the students to observe them doing their job correctly, then stopped beside the brunette girl, that stood on the first row. The girl had put up her hand in the air to earn the teacher's attention, which glimpsed at the sheet.
„Here on the square comes the four, which with five makes nine. Here next to the nine I have eleven and to get eleven I have to use the number five along with another number to get the number eleven. Is that right?"
„That's right, Helena," Confirmed the teacher making the girl smile and continue, afterward the woman returned to her seat to do her work on the laptop leaving the students to work by themselves.
On the last row, Cody Bruel glimpsed away from his sheet at the right side, where the two girls Nathalie Kurtzberg and Eireen Lavillant sat doing their task as well.
„Psst Elliot. Did you hear anything about Nathalie's mother?" Questioned Cody making the blonde shake his head.
„No, I didn't talk with her yet," Answered Elliot. „I'm a little scared, I might hurt her if I ask,"
„Okay," Responded Cody. „I might ask her,"
„I haven't noticed yet. Who does she hang out in the breaks with?" Questioned the blonde. „We were watching together the 5th and 6th class play football all the time,"
„Perhaps Eireen?" Commented Cody making Elliot shrug his shoulders, The girl sitting in front of them got up and walked with the sheet towards the girl, seconds later the deskmate of Rouven Couffaine got up as well to get to the front to show it the teacher as well.
„Doesn't your papa today have the medic test?" Questioned Cody making Elliot nod.
„I think he will be doing it the whole day. Isn't that crazy?" Questioned Elliot making Cody nod, then he lifted up his hand to earn the attention of the teacher.
„Mrs. Donner? I have a question because of Elliot's dad," Spoke Cody up making the teacher nod. „When we have tests too, will they take an entire day?"
„No Cody, our tests are very short," Answered Mrs. Donner. „We only take one topic. Elliot's father has many, many topics and also many test sheets. He will have enough breaks to rest and prepare himself for the next ones,"
„Your father sounds really smart, Elliot," Complimented Deborah, which sat on the front row, then Zheng, the son of Jin an old classmate of Adrien moved his hand up to call the blonde's attention.
„Just like my father. He's already a doctor," Stated Zheng proud.
„Yes, indeed," Commented the teacher picking up the boy's sheet along with Ruby's to check it.
„I hope he will do good. He promised to spend time with me to compensate for the lost time," Said Elliot.
„Tonight my dad is going with me and Maman to see our grandfather at a show, then we will dine together," Mentioned Cody making Elliot smile.
„Cool," Commented Elliot, afterward they heard their teacher grab a small cowbell to get the attention of the students.
„Can I have your attention please?" Asked Mrs. Donner watching all students look up at the teacher, which placed the bell down. „Your homework for next week will be to finish this task and the next one, I'll give Ruby and Zheng out to distribute to all of you,"
Mrs. Donner picked up the remote, she had on the table and turned the screen behind the interactive to show the homework sheet, which contained on the left side several dices each of them showing a different amount of point. The right side had a line, where the kids could fill in as their answer. „Each line here represents one calculation exercise. You have to count all these points inside the dices here and write down the solution. There are two pages, the front, and the backside. That's it for now, let Ruby or Zheng give you the homework and you're all dismissed for this morning. Don't forget today you've got music class with Mrs. Rodriguez and sports with Miss Anjali," Mentioned Mrs. Donner watching the sheets getting distributed across the class, then Ruby offered Zheng to take the remaining sheets back to the teacher.
Elliot packed all his utensils and shoved them into his backpack, then walked along with Cody behind the other students to shake hands with the teacher before leaving.
Nathalie walked along with Eireen towards the teacher, being the last ones to leave, then before Nathalie left the teacher noticed Eireen move out and returned her eyes at the brunette girl.
„How are you doing at home with your mother?" Questioned Mrs. Donner. „Are you doing well so far?"
„She's good, but according to doctors, she will take a long while to remember who we all are. I think it was because of the accident,"
„If you need someone to talk about, I'm here for you. Your father can also ask for help when he needs it as well. You two don't have to pass by that alone,"
„Yes, Mrs. Donner. Thank you," Responded the girl making the teacher smile and pat the girl on the shoulder. „Come, go back home for lunch,"
„Yes," Replied Nathalie, then left the classroom and went stairs down to encounter Eireen, which had stopped to wait for her friend.
„Did you forget something?" Questioned Eireen making Nathalie shake her head.
„No Mrs. Donner asked me how I was feeling because of my mother,"
„Oh okay," Commented Eireen walking downstairs along with the new friend, then stopped there.
„Will someone take you home?" Questioned Nathalie making Eireen nod.
„My mother. The woman with the long hair," Responded the blonde girl making Nathalie nod. „What about you?"
„My father," Answered Nathalie, then both watched at the sidewalk a few of her classmates waiting, thereafter a black Sedan stopped and Rouven waved at the driver. The window was pulled down to reveal Luka's face, which smiled and held out his fist to get a fist bump from his son. Rouven looked into the car and nodded, then looked back at the two girls, then ran towards them.
„Hey Eireen, your mother is there with us. My dad will have lunch with your moms,"
„Oh okay Rouven, thank you," Said Eireen, then looked at Nathalie. „I see you later,"
„Bye Eireen, bye Rouven," Said Nathalie waving at the two friends, which headed towards the car and entered behind the second door. Nathalie observed the car leaving, afterward two different sorts of car arrived and she watched Zheng being picked up by his mother while behind her Cody left as well. Nathalie looked at the remaining students, then made her way towards Elliot, which was also waiting.
„Hello Elliot," Spoke Nathalie making the boy smile.
„Hey Nathalie," Greeted the blonde. „Is your father coming to take you?"
„Yes. Who will take you home?"
„Our family's bodyguard," Commented Elliot. „For now on everyone is at work from my family…..besides papa, which has this exam about medicine,"
„It will go fine now. I heard at our welcome party, that he studied a lot," Assured Nathalie.
„Yeah. He spent so much time studying, we have almost never played anything together," Spoke Elliot making Nathalie nod understanding the boy's sadness. „But the one good thing about today is, that after he is back he had promised that we could spend together time,"
„Great, what are you two going to do?" Questioned the brunette making the blonde shrug his shoulders.
„We will look for it together. Maybe we're gonna play basketball or something together," Said Elliot, then looked aside to see the Agreste vehicle stop by with the bodyguard inside it pressing the honk to call Elliot's attention. „I have to go, see you later," Said Elliot entering into the car and Nathalie waved at the blonde before the car left. Nathalie looked around herself, then saw from the opposite direction on the road the combi of her parents, then Nathaniel waved with his hand and pointed at the zebra crossing near the crossroad, then Nathalie ran towards the crossing to see her father approach the end as well. Nathalie looked around the road, then ran over the street and entered the car on the front seat to be next to her father.
„Hello Nathalie," Greeted Nathaniel watching the daughter pull out the seatbelt to put it on.
„Hey dad," Greeted the daughter watching her father press on the side a button to lock the car doors. „What is going to be our lunch?"
„I actually have not the slightest idea. I was hoping to have any by now and I haven't,"
„What about we order something?" Questioned Nathalie making Nathaniel shake his head.
„I'm not sure if we can order something in time. You know I have to bring you back at 13:00 back to school," Warned Nathaniel making Nathalie nod.
„What about a sandwich?" Questioned Nathalie looking out of the window to see Paris' well-known pigeon lover sit on a bench with a sandwich, afterward he was visited by several of his feather friends.
„The Submarine is on the other side of the arrondissement,"
„We have the new toast breed pack at home, dad?" Spoke Nathalie. „You opened it for me this morning, remember?"
„Right I did," Spoke Nathaniel, afterward he had an idea. „Hey, what about I make warm toast with cheese?" Suggested Nathaniel. „Your grandma used to make them when I was around your age,"
„How does it look like?"
„It's basically a slice of toast covered with melted cheese. We had the Hawaiian variant, which has ananas inside it, then we got the Williams one with pear. Those ones I can recall at the moment,"
„With pear sounds strange," Commented Nathalie making Nathaniel chuckle.
„Your mother would find it with ananas strange," Commented Nathaniel making the daughter giggle.
„Really?" Questioned the girl making Nathaniel shrug his shoulders.
„Well, I'm not sure. But I know she doesn't like it on pizza," Commented Nathaniel.
„It's weird on pizza too!" Mentioned Nathalie making her father chuckle.
„You're beginning to remind me more of your mother," Spoke Nathaniel making the girl smile, then look at the screen on the middle of the car and pressed the radio option to turn it on having a song end.
