This story was inspired by my own liking for Roger Rabbit and the fact that there are not enough stories that focus on Roger. So I thought I'd write a little something with Roger. Roger Rabbit belongs to Amblin and Walt Disney. The only characters I own, are the ones I create in this story.

As they approached the entrance to Walt Disney Land, the hot California sun was burning down on all of the small 3rd-grade students. All of them wore smiles on their faces, excited to spend the day at the happiest place on Earth.

"Alright everyone," The teacher announced as soon as they had made it through the entrance. "Before we can go in, you must all go into your respective groups." Everyone else nodded as they all walked and stood with the groups they had picked. A few minutes later, everyone was standing with their group, talking amongst themselves. All except for one kid.

"John, why aren't you standing with your group?" The teacher asked the only kid standing on his own, he was a fair-skinned child, with sandy blonde hair, and had a look of embarrassment plastered across his face.

"I…never picked a group, nor was I asked to join one." He said, whilst looking down, and fiddling with his fingers.

"That's because no one likes you and you are a loser!" One kid shouted rather snarkily.

"Yeah, no one likes you, John!" Another shouted.

"That's enough!" The teacher exclaimed, to which everyone quieted down. "I'm sorry John, but since you don't have a group, you'll have to stay with me for the whole day." John's face immediately fell, yet he gave his teacher a nod. He knew that it wasn't worth arguing with the teacher or anything.

"All right everyone, now go and have fun!" All the kids smiled and ran off, ready to have a great time.

"Now you John, please follow me."

To say John was bored would be an understatement, he was bored to death. John found out the hard way, that his teacher was one of THOSE teachers who don't like to go on amusement park rides, and since his teacher was unwilling and right out refusing to let him out on his own, he was practically stuck doing nothing, and whenever he would complain to his teacher about how bored he was, he would get the usual reply of,

"Well, it's your fault for not getting into a group, John."

So, here he was in the happiest place on Earth, and yet he was sitting on a bench in Mainstreet U.S.A, with his teacher who was drinking coffee. He couldn't help but give a small, and quiet sigh as he sat there. He was in Disneyland, he should be out having fun like there is no tomorrow, not sitting here with his teacher bored out of his little mind.

"This isn't fair!" He thought to himself, as he swung his legs. "I shouldn't have to be punished just because, I don't have any friends," He felt small tears creep into the corner of his eyes. "It's a shame that my teacher doesn't feel the same way, and now, I'll be stuck doing nothing all day." The tiny tears in his eyes fell down his cheeks as he thought about it. The sound of footsteps approaching, made him look up. Walking towards him and his teacher, was none other than Roger Rabbit. The rabbit wore a smile as he approached.

"Hey there kiddo," Roger Rabbit said in a cheerful tone. "What's got you so down in gloomville?"

"He's upset he has no partner or group," His teacher replied to the rabbit. "We are on a class trip, and he didn't pick a group or a partner, so he has to stay with me the whole day."

"Why didn't you pick a group?"

"I wanted to, but every time I asked someone, they refused to let me be their partner or group member."

Roger looked down at the boy with sympathy for a moment before speaking up, "Would you like me to be your partner?"

John gave the rabbit a look of surprise and hope, "Do you want to?"

The rabbit smiled at the boy, "Of course, I wouldn't have asked if I didn't want to, and besides, this is the Happiest Place on Earth, I can't let you be sad in such a great place," He held out his yellow gloved hand. "So, whaddya say?"

The boy looked at the outstretched hand for a moment before smiling and taking it into his own. "Yes Roger," He said with excitement practically engulfing his voice. "I would love for you to be my partner."

To say John had a great day at Disneyland that day would be a massive understatement. To him, it was one of the best and most fun days he ever had in a long time. Since he was with Roger, he didn't have to wait on any of the lines for the rides nor did he have to pay for any food, drinks, or merchandise he wanted to buy. Roger was also a very funny, and kind toon to be around, always chatting with him, and cracking jokes that made him smile and laugh throughout their time together. The day seemed to fly by for the boy and was sad that the day was over, but at the same time, he was so happy that his day was so fun.

When he returned to Mainstreet later that day, every single kid looked at him with surprise and jealousy, that Roger Rabbit had been his partner.

"What was it like?" One kid asked.

"Was it fun?" Another asked.

"Was it amazing?"

"I'll tell you all on the way back." John replied to them, to which the kids returned with a nod.

"Well everyone, it's time to head back to the Hotel, I am sure you are all exhausted from all the fun you had today, right?" Their teacher asked, too which she received nods in confirmation. "Alright everyone, let's head to the busses."

"Wait!" John called out. "Can I say goodbye to Roger?"

His teacher gave him a nod, "Sure John, just try not to take too long, okay?" The boy gave a nod and looked back at the rabbit standing right next to him.

"Well, I guess this is goodbye, Roger." The boy spoke, a hint of sadness in his voice.

"Don't be sad John," Roger replied, placing a hand on the boy's shoulder. "I am sure we will see each other again someday."

"You really think so?" John asked, with a glimmer of hope in his eye.

"Of course I do, in fact, I promise you that we will see each other again." The boy smiled warmly at the rabbit, a small tear in his eye.

"You really promise?" The boy asked, with a small quiver in his voice.

"Of course I do, bud." The rabbit gave the boy a soft smile. The boy felt a small tear roll down his cheek as he threw his arms around the rabbit, and hugged him tightly, burying his face into the rabbit's red overalls. Roger immediately returned the hug, rubbing soft circles into the boy's back.

"I'll miss you, Roger." The boy said, his voice muffled slightly as his face was pressed into the red overalls.

"And I'll miss you too, Johnny," Roger replied, using the nickname he had for John all day. "I'll miss you too."

"I can't believe the day we had is over. I really enjoyed my day with you."

"I did too, kiddo. I did too," The rabbit paused for a moment before continuing. "But as I said, we will see each other again someday, I promise you." The boy gave a small nod, before slowly removing his head from the rabbit's overalls so he could look up at him.

"Goodbye Roger, I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too, John." The two slowly let go of each other, and John slowly walked away and back to his bus.

AN: And there you go. I hope you all enjoyed this short and sweet story, hope to see you all next time.
