One day the pups were finishing breakfast when Ryder came over.
"Hey pups, are you finished with breakfast?" he asked.
"Sure are Ryder." said Chase.
Ryder took away the pups bowls and put them inside the Lookout.
Then he came back outside.
"Ryder, didn't you say today you were gonna visit your parents?" asked Rocky.
"Yes Rocky, so I'll have to find someone to look after you pups and lead you on missions." replied Ryder.
Rocky thought for a moment.
"Why don't we ask Katie, she led us before and she is our favorite pup sitter," he suggested.
"Shhh Rocky, we don't want Adam to hear that." hushed Marshall.
"Oh right, sorry Marshall, but he and Caitlin were helping his parents when Katie led us and when Mayor Humdinger and the Kitten Catastrophe Crew were using those animal sound switching tags to cause chaos and sabotaging our rescues by barking out tools we didn't need." replied Rocky.
"Yeah and you and I gave her an official PAW Patrol escort when Katie finished washing Mayor Humdingers kitties." added Rubble.
"Yeah, glad Adam wasn't mad when you and I told him Marshall," said Rocky.
"Of course," said Marshall with a laugh. "Hey, Adam could lead us, he did when Ryder had the stomach flu, and Rubble and I have been showing him some leadership skills."
"Hey, yeah and maybe Caitlin could help too." put in Rubble.
Then Chase saw mine and Caitlin's vehicles coming.
"Here they come now," he said.
The other pups and Ryder noticed we were coming also.
Caitlin and I stopped our vehicles near the pups.
Caitlin hopped down from her vehicle while I hopped down and put my headset on the driver seat then I closed the driver side door.
"Adam!" cried Marshall as he ran up to me.
"Caitlin!" cried Rubble as he ran up to his girlfriend.
I knelt down as Marshall ran up and proceeded to lick my face.
"Hey Rubble." said Caitlin as Rubble ran up and gave her a big hug and she hugged him back, then the two of them kissed.
"Hey you two." said Ryder.
"Hey Ryder." I said as I scratched the back of Marshall's head. "What are you guys doing today?"
"Well I'm going to help my parents today so I'll need someone to look after the pups and lead them on missions," said Ryder.
"Oh, that is a problem." said Caitlin.
"We were thinking about Katie since she's led us once before," said Rubble.
"Yeah, I know I heard and saw it." I said.
"Me too." added Caitlin.
"But then we were thinking about you leading since you led us when Ryder had the stomach flu," said Rocky.
"Oh yeah I did." I said.
"Yeah, I think I remember Rubble telling me all about that." said Caitlin.
"Yeah I did." said Rubble to his girlfriend.
Some time after Caitlin had joined the PAW Patrol, Rubble had told her about the time I had led the PAW Patrol while Ryder had the stomach bug.
"Well, Katie is busy at her Pet Parlor today with Cali," said Caitlin.
"So, she can't lead us in the meantime," said Zuma.
"Hey, what about you Adam?" asked Chase.
"What do you mean Chase?" I asked.
"Why don't you lead us? You did before when Ryder had the stomach flu." replied Chase.
"Yeah I did." I said. "I guess I was ok then."
"You were great Adam," said Skye.
"But I chickened out when I couldn't think properly." I said.
"But I told you what to do and soon you knew exactly what to do and we saved Everest in the end," said Marshall.
"Yeah I remember little buddy." I said.
"And you also did well when Nigel took the documents when you, Marshall, and I did our own mission in Barkingburg." said Rubble.
"Oh yeah I did, I just knew what to do since Nigel took them." I said.
"See, you've gotten some skill over these past couple months," said Rocky.
"I guess I have." I said. "Maybe I could try again and see if I'm any better at leading."
"Great, so if you like then you can be the leader for the day and I can help if you need it." said Chase.
"Ok Chase, I guess I could give it another try." I said.
"Ok so I guess you're leading again Adam." said Zuma.
"Yeah, since I guess I've gotten better at it from the mission Marshall, Rubble and I had in Barkingburg." I said.
"Here Adam, you'll need my spare pup pad just in case there's an emergency." said Ryder as he gave me the spare pup pad.
"Thanks Ryder, I think I remember how to work this." I said
"Ok I guess I'll head to my parents to help them out, so thank you for filling in for me Adam." said Ryder.
"Oh of course Ryder, I've led the team before and the pups will help me if I need it." I said.
"Adam's right, we'll be just fine working together, don't worry about a thing." added Chase.
"Thank you Chase." said Ryder as he went to his ATV. "See you all later."
"See you Ryder." I said.
"Bye Ryder." said the pups.
After Ryder left I put my tow truck in the garage so I could get to it quickly.
Then the pups and I went to do our own thing.
Rocky and Zuma played tug toy.
I played frisbee with Marshall, Rubble, and Chase.
And Skye and Caitlin were having girl talk.
Meanwhile on the tracks ahead of the train station in Adventure Bay one of the train engineers was making sure he was on schedule by looking at his time table.
"Ok, so I left the train station with this cargo and now it's time to deliver the cargo at the back of the train to the next town," he said.
While he was making sure he stayed on time the train started to go up a hill.
But then the weight of the last four freight cars started holding back the train.
The coupling started to stretch and groan.
The engineer didn't know because he was in the locomotive at the front.
"Now once I get over this hill I should be back on schedule," he said.
But as the train reached the top of the hill the coupling on the first of the last four freight cars broke!
The loads on the breakaway cars pushed the cars down the hill.
The engineer heard a snap and looking back he saw the breakaway cars racing down the hill behind his train.
"Oh-no! Their heading for the station and the next train could crash into those!" he cried. "Better call the PAW Patrol."
The engineer pulled out his phone and called the PAW Patrol.
Back at the Lookout the pups and I were still doing our own things.
"Here it comes, pups!" I said.
I threw the frisbee towards Marshall, Rubble, and Chase.
The three pups chased after the frisbee.
Rubble ran forward and caught it as he jumped up to catch it.
"Nice catch Rubble, I bet I'll catch the next one." said Marshall.
"Well let's see when Adam throws it." replied Rubble.
He brought it back to me and I threw it again.
This time Marshall was trying to catch it.
He jumped and caught it.
"Hey, I got it." he said as he held the frisbee in his mouth.
Then he landed on the grass.
"Good catch Marshall," said Chase.
"Thank you Chase." said Marshall.
Then the pup pad rang.
I pulled it out of my pocket and answered the call.
"Oh wait, there's a call coming in," said Rubble.
"Hello Adam here." I said.
"You're not Ryder," said the engineer.
"No he's helping his parents today so I'm leading the PAW Patrol today Mr. Engineer." I explained.
"Oh ok Adam, anyway I was going up this hill with my train when the last four freight cars broke away. Now they're heading into Adventure Bay and another train is coming." explained the engineer.
"Don't worry Mr. Engineer, we'll make sure those freight cars are stopped and that the next train doesn't hit them. No freight cars are too fast, no pup is too small!." I said as I pulled out the side of the pup pad to call the pups.
"PAW Patrol, to the Lookout!" I said.
"Adam needs us," said the pups.
They ran onto the elevator but Marshall tripped over a pup toy and crashed into the elevator.
"Sorry I need to be sure to pick things up when I'm finished playing with them," he said.
The pups laughed as the elevator rose halfway so the pups could put on their gear and then the elevator reached the top of the Lookout.
The pups jumped out of the elevator and took their places with Caitlin beside Marshall.
"PAW Patrol, ready for action Adam sir!" said Chase.
I pressed a button on the pup pad and the screen came down.
"Thanks for hurrying pups, we've got an emergency out on the tracks. Some freight cars broke away from one of the trains and are now rolling back into Adventure Bay. We need to stop them and make sure they don't crash into the next train coming." I said.
"First I'll need Chase." I said as I picked Chase's icon first. "I need you to make sure no one is near the tracks when the freight cars are coming."
"Chase is on the case!" said Chase.
"Rocky." I said as I picked Rocky's icon next. "I need you to be with me on each freight car to apply their brakes, the sooner we get one of the brakes on the quicker the freight cars will slow down."
"Green means go! said Rocky.
"Marshall." I said as I then picked Marshall's icon.
"I'll need you to use your ladder to help me and Rocky get on each freight car so we can apply their brakes and also use your fire truck to slow down the freight cars if you can." I said.
"I'm fired up!" said Marshall.
"And Rubble." I said as I picked Rubble's icon last. "I need you to go to the station and keep us updated on where the next train is, we don't want it crashing into the freight cars." I said.
"Rubble on the double." said Rubble.
"Alright PAW Patrol is on a roll!" I said.
Then I ran to the pole and slid down it while Chase, Rocky, Marshall, and Rubble went down the slide to their pup houses.
Then they transformed into their vehicles and they set off from the Lookout and I joined them in my tow truck.
We crossed over the bridge and made our way toward the tracks.
When we arrived by the train station we started looking for the runaway freight cars.
"Chase, head towards the freight cars and then when you see them race ahead to keep the tracks and the railroad crossing clear." I said.
"Roger Adam," said Chase.
He took off in his police cruiser to find the runaway freight cars.
"Rubble head to the station and go to the dispatching room, that's where you can figure out when the next train is coming." I said.
"10-4 Adam." replied Rubble.
He parked his bulldozer by the station and he ran inside to go to the dispatching room.
"Marshall and Rocky follow me." I said.
I drove off in the same direction Chase had gone and Marshall and Rocky followed me.
Meanwhile Rubble ran into the dispatching room.
"Wow, this is so cool." he said, astonished by the screens on the wall and the computers on the desks everywhere.
He walked up to one of the desks where a woman was sitting.
"Oh hello there little guy." she said.
"Hi, are you one of the dispatchers?" asked Rubble.
"Yes I'm Miss Allison." said the dispatcher.
"Hi Miss Allison, I'm Rubble from the PAW Patrol." said Rubble.
"Nice to meet you Rubble, so what are you doing here?" asked Miss Allison.
"Some freight cars broke away from the last train that came here, and now they're rolling back down the tracks and they could crash into the next train." explained Rubble.
"Oh yes we've heard about that and we're trying to make sure the tracks are clear," said Miss Allison.
"My friends Adam, Marshall, and Rocky are gonna try to slow them down once they find them and my friend Chase is making sure the railroad crossings and the tracks are clear and that people or cars don't move onto the tracks." said Rubble.
"Well that's good let's hope they stop them but for right now I'm trying to find where the next train is." said Miss Allison
"Yeah, we can't have it hit those runaway freight cars." agreed Rubble.
Rubble hopped onto a nearby chair so he could help Miss Allison figure out where the next train was and maybe see where the runaway freight cars were.
Meanwhile Chase was looking where the freight cars were so he could get ahead of them to clear the way in front of them.
Then he heard a rattling noise.
"That must be the freight cars," he said.
Chase drove forward a bit more and in the distance were the runaway freight cars.
"There they are, better tell Adam, Marshall, and Rocky." he said.
He turned around his police cruiser and set off ahead of the freight cars to warn people and cars what was coming.
Then he saw Marshall, Rocky and I.
We all stopped so we could hear each other.
"Did you see the freight cars Chase?" I asked.
"Yes, they're coming now." replied Chase.
"Ok, we'll try to slow them down, you clear the way and make sure no one goes over the tracks and the railroad crossing by the station." I instructed.
"Got it Adam," said Chase.
He set off to keep the tracks clear.
"Ruff! Megaphone!" barked Chase.
His megaphone popped out of his pup pack.
"Runaway freight cars are coming, please keep off the tracks," he said.
I hopped down from my tow truck so we could start the plan.
"Marshall, we'll need your ladder so Rocky and I can get on board and apply the brakes." I said.
"Right Adam," said Marshall.
Rocky hopped down from his vehicle so he and I could hop on Marshall's fire truck.
First Marshall put his ladder to the right so it would hang over the freight cars then Rocky and I could hop on.
Then Rocky and I hopped on Marshall's fire truck.
"Ok Marshall, let's see when those freight cars are coming." I said.
"Roger Adam," said Marshall.
He drove his fire truck alongside the tracks but not too close so the freight cars wouldn't hit us.
Then in the distance we saw freight cars coming.
"There they are," said Rocky.
"Stop here Marshall." I said.
Marshall stopped his fire truck like I said and the freight cars rolled past us.
"Ok Marshall, go after them." I said.
Marshall turned his fire truck around and gave chase after the freight cars.
Soon we caught up to them.
"Ok, get closer and keep it steady." I said.
"Ok Adam." replied Marshall.
He drove faster so his ladder was above the first freight car.
Then he got his fire truck alongside the freight car at the back of the breakaway.
"Ok hold steady!" I said.
I got on the ladder and got ready to hop on the first freight car.
Soon after making sure there was nothing coming I hopped off the ladder and onto the first freight car.
"Nice job Ad!" said Marshall.
"Thank you, now hop on Rock." I said.
Rocky then made sure nothing was coming then he also hopped onto the first freight car.
"Ok, Rocky you go to the next freight car and use your claw arm to apply the brakes." I said.
"Got it." said Rocky as he carefully made his way to the next freight car to turn the handbrake on.
"Marshall, go in front of the freight cars and use your ladder to help keep your fire truck under control when you apply the brakes." I said.
"Right Adam," said Marshall.
He drove his fire truck alongside trying to overtake the freight cars.
Then I turned the wheel on the last freight car and the brakes screeched on.
Then I went to the next freight car to see if Rocky needed any help.
"Ruff! Claw! he barked.
The claw arm popped out of his pup pack and he started to turn on the brakes.
It was a bit tricky using his claw so I helped him turn and soon the brakes came on on the second freight car.
Then we both went to the third car.
Then Marshall got ahead of the freight car and did his best to be careful getting over the first rail so his fire truck wouldn't get damaged from doing this.
He positioned his fire truck right in front of the freight cars and carefully used his ladder to try to hold the freight cars steady as he applied the brakes gently.
Then he carefully slowed down until the coupling on the last freight car hit the bumper.
There was a large crate on the freight car Marshall's fire truck was in front of so he put the ladder against that to see if it could help keep his fire truck under control trying to slow down the freight cars.
Rocky and I carefully made our way across the second freight car to get to the third one.
Soon we got on it and then Rocky helped me apply the hand brake and Marshall braked gently trying to keep the runaway cars under control.
As Rocky and I turned the brake one more time the brakes screeched on.
"I hope this works!" said Marshall.
Then Rocky and I got on the last freight car.
As I got ready to turn the brakes on I called out to Marshall.
"Hit the brakes carefully when I tell you!" I called.
"Got it!" said Marshall.
After a second I gave Marshall the signal.
"Now!" I called while Rocky and I applied the brakes.
Marshall carefully applied his fire truck's brakes.
Soon the last freight car's brakes were on.
With the brakes on each freight car on and Marshall using his fire truck trying to slow them down, from the front the freight cars started to slow down.
"So far so good," said Marshall.
"Yeah, I just hope we stop them before the next train comes," said Rocky.
"I'll call Rubble so he can update us on where it is." I said.
I pulled out the pup pad from my pocket and quickly called Rubble.
He and Miss Allison were still in the dispatching room when his pup tag got my call.
He tapped it to answer it.
"Hello," he said.
"Hey Rubble, we've applied the brakes on the freight cars and Marshall is using his fire truck to help also." I said.
"That's good Adam, I've met this dispatcher called Miss Allison and she's helping me figure out where the train is." said Rubble.
"Good, cause we'll need to know where it is before it hits these freight cars." I said.
Miss Allison looked on her computer and saw the train coming.
"Rubble, the train is getting close to the station." she said.
"Miss Allison just said the train is getting close to the station," said Rubble.
"Oh-no, so are we." I said as we noticed we were almost to the station.
"I don't know if we'll be able to stop them in time before the train comes and hits us." said Marshall.
"There has to be a way to keep the next train from crashing into us," said Rocky.
Then I had an idea.
"Is there a siding or something we could switch the train onto so it doesn't hit the freight cars?" I asked.
Miss Allison checked the computer.
"Yes there's one near the station so if we can switch the train there it'll go onto a different track and we'll also need to tell it to stop so it doesn't crash." she said.
"Great, so we need to tell the train engineer to stop his train and go onto the siding." I said.
"Good point Adam." said Miss Allison.
She quickly typed some things on the computer and a signal down the line before the crossing turned yellow to warn the engineer to slow down.
Meanwhile Chase stopped by the railroad crossing and saw the freight cars coming.
"Uh-oh, they're coming," he said.
He quickly put his police cruiser in front of the railroad crossing to warn oncoming people and cars.
"Runaway freight cars are coming and so is another train please keep off the tracks." he said through his megaphone.
Marshall, Rocky and I were trying to turn the brakes on harder but we didn't want the brakes to wear out and break.
The freight cars started rolling through the station but then to ours and Chase's surprise the crossing gates didn't go down, the lights didn't start flashing and the warning bells didn't ring as the freight cars were heading toward the crossing.
"Marshall, be careful we don't need your fire truck getting damaged from going over the road on the tracks." I said.
"Oh right, good thinking Adam." replied Marshall.
He carefully drove forward and his fire truck tires rolled onto the road and then went back going over the railroad ties.
"Why aren't the crossing gates working?" asked Rocky as the freight cars started rolling through the crossing.
"I don't know but we'll see about that once we stop these freight cars." I said.
After the freight cars were through the crossing we went back to trying to get them to stop.
Then we heard the train's horn from around a corner.
"Here comes the train!" cried Chase.
"Uh-oh, this isn't good," said Marshall.
Miss Allison and Rubble also saw it on the computer monitor.
"There it is," said Rubble.
"Yes, here press that key Rubble it'll switch the tracks so it goes off the mainline, into this siding and that'll give them a little time to stop the freight cars." said Miss Allison as she pointed to a key on the keyboards right side that was near where Rubble was sitting.
"Ok, if you know what to do in an emergency like this." said Rubble.
Then he pressed the button on the keyboard.
The points around the corner changed.
Rubble quickly called Chase to tell him that the points were changed.
"Chase the points before the last bend have changed, this dispatcher called Miss Allison and I changed them so if the freight cars are going slow enough they may stop before it." explained Rubble.
"Ok Rubble thank you for telling me, I'll let them know and make sure no one goes near the tracks." replied Chase.
"Ok we're making sure nothing else happens so that may be a good idea." said Rubble.
"The points have changed, so you might have a chance." Chase called to Rocky, Marshall and I over his megaphone trying not to be too loud.
"Got it Chase." said Marshall over his pup tag as he kept his fire trucks brakes on.
The train was coming up to the junction and the engineer saw the freight cars and Marshall's fire truck heading right towards his train.
"Ahh." he said as he quickly applied the brakes.
Luckily the train hadn't been going too fast after the signal and it quickly swerved off the mainline and into the siding.
Its brakes quickly helped it come to a stop before it came off the tracks.
And soon with the freight cars brakes and with help from Marshall's fire truck the freight cars soon came to a stop before the junction.
Chase saw everything as he was coming to see if everything was ok.
"Yes!" he cried.
"Yeah, we did it!" exclaimed Marshall.
"That was close." breathed Rocky.
"You three are right." I said, glad we had stopped the freight cars.
Rubble and Miss Allison also saw it from her computer.
"Yes, they stopped." said Rubble.
"Yeah and thank goodness." said Miss Allison.
"I'll go see if they're alright," said Rubble.
"Ok, I'll tell the driver that we stopped his freight cars." said Miss Allison as she quickly started to get in contact with the driver who's freight cars had broken away.
At the junction I quickly took a big piece of wood from the last car so Marshall could get his fire truck off the tracks more safely.
After it was back safely near the tracks Rocky and I put it back on the freight car where we found it.
Chase then came up followed by Rubble a moment later.
"Thank goodness you guys are safe." said Chase.
"Yeah but I'm glad we switched the points in time so the train could safely come to a stop." added Rubble.
"Yes, now Rocky and I need our trucks before we check the coupling cause I think it could be broken since these cars broke away." I said.
"Oh yeah I'll need my truck to see if I have anything to fix the coupling." said Rocky.
"Yes, Marshall, can you give us a lift again cause this time it's not dangerous." I said.
"Of course, and I don't think I'll need to give anyone a ride for the rest of the day." said Marshall.
"Chase, since that crossing is broken I think it's best if you keep people from crossing the tracks cause I think it's a bit dangerous to go over some tracks with a broken crossing." I said.
"Ok good point Adam," said Chase.
He turned his police cruiser around and went back to the crossing.
Then Marshall gave Rocky and I a lift to where we left our trucks before we got on the freight cars
Soon the three of us arrived back at the junction with our trucks and we hopped down from them.
"Now let's see if the coupling is broken because we'll need a replacement if it is." I said.
"Ok Adam," said Rocky.
He, Marshall and I went to the first freight car and we looked at it.
"Yeah, it's definitely broken, the knuckle ripped off because of the weight on these cars." I said.
"Wow, these cars must be very heavy with cargo if they were heavy to break the coupling like that." said Marshall
" Yes, Rocky do you have a replacement coupling?" I asked.
"Let's see." replied Rocky.
He went back to his truck and looked in the back of it to find a replacement coupling.
Then he found one.
"Here's one." he said as he held it with his claw arm.
"Ok let's take this broken one off and replace it with that." I said.
First I took a ratchet from my tow truck and unscrewed the broken coupling then Rocky held it in place while I started the bolts, then I held the coupling so Rocky could use the ratchet from his pup pack to screw in the bolts then I tightened the bolts to make sure the coupling was secure enough.
"If we had another knuckle then you could fix that coupling Rocky." I said.
"Hmm, I'll look in my truck for something we could use when we get back to the Lookout." said Rocky.
"Ok, I'll let Rubble know we fixed the coupling so he can tell Miss Allison and then the trains can be on their way." I said.
"Yeah we've held them up so much already." added Marshall.
Rocky put the broken coupling in his truck and Rubble told Miss Allison so she could tell the engineer of the first train so he could come and collect his freight cars.
Soon the first train had its freight cars back.
The driver thanked us and he set off to try to make up for lost time.
Then the second train went out of the siding and she quickly changed the points with the computer so it could be on its way.
The second driver also thanked us before it set off.
Rocky, Marshall and I went back to the station to meet up with Rubble and Chase who was still making sure everyone was careful since the railroad crossing wasn't working.
"Ok guys, the only thing left is to figure out why the crossing isn't working and fix it." I said.
"Right Adam, I'll look at it then see if it has something to do with the electricity in the rails that the train creates with its wheel and axle." said Rocky.
He walked up to the crossing and inspected it.
"Hmm, nothing looks broken, so it could be in with the wires by the rails," said Rocky.
"I think I know the pup that can help you figure out the problem so you can fix it." I said as I pulled out the pup pad from my pocket.
I quickly called the remaining pups at the Lookout.
"Caitlin, I need you at the railroad crossing to help Rocky figure out why it's working." I said.
"Sure thing Adam, Caitlin will find the clues," said Caitlin.
Then she went to the slide to get to her vehicle.
Soon Caitlin arrived at the railroad crossing in her vehicle.
"Hey Caitlin, can you use your magnifier to help me find what the problem is in the rails and see if it has something to do with the insulated joiner bar?" asked Rocky.
"Uh, ok Rocky but what do you mean by all that?" asked Caitlin.
"Well the train's steel wheels and axel act like a bridge for the rails and complete an electric circuit, it hits an insulated joiner bar on each rail and it starts the island circuit of the crossing, when the first set of wheels hit that the signals activate."1 explained Rocky. "And the island circuit is the stretch of rail which goes the roadway."1
"Yeah and it's also called that because the approach circuits extend way out from the crossing on either side and the island circuit is in the middle hence the name."1I added.
"Wow that sounds interesting," said Caitlin.
"Yeah and a bit complicated if you think it a certain way." added Marshall.
"Well let's see if it has something to do with the rail cause as Rocky explained it might be in the rail." said Caitlin.
"Yeah it could be, but let's see if you're right once we find the insulated joiner bar." said Rocky.
So he and Caitlin inspected each side of both the rails until Caitlin noticed a bar on the outside of the left rail and it looked loose.
"Is this the insulated joiner bar you were telling me about?" asked Caitlin.
Rocky looked where Caitlin was looking and it was the insulated joiner bar.
"Yes, that's the insulated joiner bar," said Rocky.
"Wow, can't believe I found it." said Caitlin.
"Yes you did it and I think it's loose so that explains why the crossing wasn't working." said Rocky. "I'll tighten it."
He used the ratchet from his pup pack to tighten the joiner bar so this wouldn't happen anymore.
"There, problem solved," said Rocky.
Then Chase came over.
"No one's come by here Adam, but I still think it was a good idea for me to make sure everyone was ok," he said.
"Thank you Chase, good work." I said.
Miss Allison came out to see us.
"The joiner bar on the rail has been tightened so the crossing will work again." I said.
"Oh thank you PAW Patrol, you saved those runaway freight cars and the next train from a disaster and thank you for fixing the crossing." said Miss Allison.
"Your welcome, whenever some freight cars break away from your train just yelp for help!" I said. "Alright pups, let's head back to the Lookout."
"Good idea Ad, what a mission this has been." said Marshall.
Then we set off back to the Lookout.
When we got there we went back to doing our own things.
Soon Ryder came back after helping his parents all day.
"Hey Adam, pups, how was your day?" he said.
"Hey Ryder, how are your parents doing?" I asked.
"They're doing well, how was everything while I was gone?" asked Ryder.
"Not bad at all, we had a mission with stopping some runaway freight cars and trying to keep them from hitting the next train, but it went ok nonetheless." I said.
"Well yes it wasn't bad but it was more than that, Adam did an excellent job." said Marshall.
"Yeah, Adam did an amazing job, Ryder." added Rubble.
"His first time was fine but he did even better here." put in Chase.
"Adam is a really good leader once he learns the ropes," said Rocky.
"Well great job Adam, I can see Chase had a good idea to have you lead again." said Ryder.
"Yeah I did have a good idea." said Chase with a laugh.
"Of course, Ryder, whenever you need someone to step in to be leader for the day just yelp for help." I said. "Even though I like my position in the PAW Patrol enough."
Just then Caitlin piped up.
"You did a great job Adam, I'm proud to be your pup." she said.
"Aw, thanks Caitlin." I said as I knelt down and patted her back.
Rubble joined in and snuggled beside her.
I stood up so Rubble and Caitlin could have a moment together.
Then Marshall had an idea.
"Hey Ad, do you want to play a good ole game of catch with your favorite pup?" he asked.
"Of course Marsh, nothing like a nice game after being on a mission." I replied.
"Yeah and doing it with your best friend," said Marshall with a laugh.
I went inside the Lookout and grabbed a frisbee, then Marshall and I started playing catch.
Ryder and the other pups started doing their own thing also and so did Rubble and Caitlin after they had their moment together.
The End.

Note: The idea for the scene with Adam and Rocky getting on each freight car to slow them down and them and Marshall inspecting the coupling on the last freight car to see how it broke away was based off the scene where they stopped the Dizzy Dust Express in Pups Save the Dizzy Dust Express and also when they found the picnic basket, ticket and book on the train so i'm sorry if i ripped those scenes off just so anyone will know how i got the ideas just so i can clear it in case.
