Zelda was awake, actually, she never went to bed, Enedy had a fever all night and, even though she gave her some medicine, Zelda still stood beside her daughter while she was falling asleep, it was the first time she got a fever so high ever since she was born, but now it seems it's going down, thank the Goddesses.
Shes still asleep.
Not gonna lie, it scared her a lot and, with Link out of the village, she was completely alone. He went hunting to recollect ingredients for the shop that they settled beside the house, Zelda remembers that when she was pregnant, they both helped to fix the hanging bridge that connects the village with their house, to prevent any accident. They built the shop two years after the cataclysm, that way she could keep studying Hyrule's plant and animals, plus she could also assist people that needed help in a more…accessible way.
Sometimes she thought if it was a good idea not going back to the castle, Link told her that it was her choice if she wanted to reconstruct the castle and castle town, he would help her with everything that he could, and also if she needed to travel all of Hyrule to announce the defeat of Ganon, Link would be with her in every moment, and so he was.
For many months they traveled all of Hyrule, announcing to all the kingdoms that she was alive and that Ganon was not an upcoming threat, they spoke to everyone who was interested in the story of the battle, others didn't believe them, thinking that she was crazy or simply didn't care about it. Visiting the leaders of the regions of every part of Hyrule was a little weird for Zelda, she felt nostalgic thinking about her old trips with her knight, as if nothing happened at all…but, the reality is what she's living right now, and they both have to face it. Link has already met Gerudo chief, Riju. The moment Zelda stood on the citadel she wanted to cry, remembering her best friend and mother figure. But the moment was cut as Riju welcomed both to the city, excited to meet the princess so she could tell her more stories about Urbosa. Riju's curiosity about the old chief made Zelda feel a lot better than she expected. It was nice to have a new friend.
A few weeks passed and they went to Rito Village and Goron City, the stays were a lot shorter because, even though both places have a lot of respect for the fallen champions, they didn't have much to say about them. Yunobo was in charge to attend Link and Zelda on their stay. Yunobo had inquisitiveness about Daruk, so Zelda told him anecdotes about the braveness and strength of the champion. Link didn't remember a lot about him, but he had the same look of admiration and surprise as Yunobo as she talked about Daruk. She'll tell Link how good friends they were, a long time ago.
When they left the city and made their way to Zora's Domain, Zelda didn't know what to do with the topic of rebuilding the castle, she thought that this trip would put her mind at ease, and also give her any ideas of what was she supposed to do next.
She spoke to link about this, constantly. He told her that, even though he didn't knew the royal traditions, or what was he supposed do in this kind of situation, he assured Zelda that it was her choice, and regardless of what would she eventually chose, he will always be by her side, no matter what.
He also said that if she ever needed a king, he would make an effort to be the man that she deserves.
To be completely honest, that surprised her, a lot.
Even though Link didn't remember a lot of things from a 100 years ago, somehow he knew that Zelda was the most important person to him, not because they technically only had each other in this hostile world, it was like a godlike or divine feeling, or at least he felt that way. So if she wanted to continue ruling Hyrule, he would become a worthy king to rule with her, of course, if that's what she wanted and would make her happy, he loved her so much to even say no to whatever she wanted. Even before the cataclysm he wondered if a nobody like him would ever be worthy to be near a Princess like her, or Goddess? He admired her like a perfect being.
Blushing, Zelda told Link that she didn't know what to do, but she was very grateful for the offer. More than she would thought. Zelda considered that Hyrule seemed to be fine without the need of a ruler, but she didn't wanted to just sit idly by doing nothing, all her life she was told that she was born to rule, to be a monarch, she has an excellent preparation and there wasn't anybody more capacitated to be on the throne than her, but on the other hand, she didn't expect that all of the habitants of Hyrule would just accept her as Queen just like that, especially the ones who called her nuts for saying that she was the princess from a 100 years ago that stopped the Cataclysm.
When they reached Zora's Domain, Zelda felt nervous because she knew how much they love their Princess, and it was very likely that a lot of people would recognize her, and thus, blame her for everything that happened to Mipha and the kingdom. Even so, she firmly believed that King Dorephan would like to hear more about his daughter and how her sacrifice was not in vain, since Ganon was dead and peace returned to the land. Mipha and the other champions were the true heroes of the story. On the other hand, Link assured her that there was nothing to be afraid of because the King and Sidon did not had any resentment to any of them, the decision of piloting Ruta was Mipha's after all, but Link did warn her about the eldest Zora's, and that they would probably not be very euphoric to see her, both of them actually, for what happened with Mipha, he told her that some of them demanded an apology for not marrying Mipha. Zelda felt something weird when she heard that, but she was quickly relieved when Link mentioned that he was sure that if Mipha had proposed a 100 years ago he probably would have rejected her, because he was interested in someone else at the moment. In this moment too. Zelda was speechless, flushed, and unable to look at him in the eyes.
To nobody's surprise, Link was right. King Dorephan was very happy to see both of them safe and sound, he even proposed a welcoming banquet for them, and it was an opportunity to talk about all that happened. At the end of the festivity, the King told Zelda that the Zora's would support her, regardless of her final decision, and they also thanked her for giving them some closure of their beloved Princess. She also talked to Sidon, nearly crying after so many years, she thought that Mipha would be proud of him, seeing how her little brother turned into a brave and king young men, just like his sister.
Zelda greatly appreciated their words and actions, especially because they didn't pushed the topic of the castles reconstruction, neither did Riju or the other leaders. Despite the kindness and understanding of everyone, Zelda thought that, for the moment, the wisest thing to do was to hide in the shadows for a while until she decided what she would do in the future.
Most of them agreed with her, except for Impa. She respected Zelda's decision, and understood that it was a good idea to analyze the kingdoms actual condition before doing anything else, but she didn't like the idea of Hyrule not having a leader, and she knew that a lot of people would be against that but, in the end, this was the best for everybody. Zelda starts to feel disoriented with all of this because they seemed to be more cons than pros of not ruling her kingdom, Link tried to comfort her, but Zelda was still confused due to Impa's words.
With not a lot of options, Lind and Zelda returned to their home on Hateno, reflecting on everyone's words and advice. It was a stressful situation since Impa was the old King's Counsel, so basically everything that she said it was for the sake of the kingdom, or at least that was what Zelda thought when she was much younger. Impa's ideas helped her a lot to the prosperity of Hyrule after all. Maybe she was right and the best thing to do is to start the castles rebuilding. And they both started to seriously consider it, for a long time they had these hypothetical sketches, a family of architects would also help to remodel Links house and, obviously, they gave them a lot of ideas and advices of how they should start the reconstruction of the castle, among other things.
Zelda had faith that everything would turn out just right if they went ahead with the plan, and with Link on her side, she felt that everything could be possible.
And then she fainted.
It made a lot of sense because she was under a lot of stress and very tired of all the administration talks, Link was really worried about her so, naturally, he took her to Purah to check if there was anything wrong with her, or if it was something bad or serious.
Goddesses
They were very surprised when Purah told them that they were expecting a baby.
The news almost hit them, nonetheless they didn't considered to be something bad. It took them some minutes to process it but, in the end, their eyes were filled with tears, and their mouths with exhalations, Link couldn't stop smiling from ear to ear, Zelda only looked at him with excitement. Of course they were euphoric with the news, they loved each other more than anything else in the world, and now they had the chance to raise something they both created, they didn't knew how to put it into words, it was something wonderful and magical. Naturally, they immediately forgot about all the plans that they had, and although they haven't started with anything yet, they thought that it was the best for all to put the reconstruction plans on hiatus, and everyone involved in the project understood the couple, and were excited to meet Hyrule's new future.

Neither Link nor Zelda believed in love at first sight, that was until they both held their daughter and she squeezed her little hand on Links fingers and clung to Zelda's clothes with the other hand. In that moment, nothing they ever said before mattered, Impa's words didn't matter, or what the other kingdoms had to say, their old plans, nothing, NOTHING mattered more than her. In that instant they could only think about their daughter's happiness more than anything else in the world.
Ever since Enedy smiled for the first time, and when she opened her little blue eyes, Zelda wanted to get her away from all suffering, she made an oath to herself to always be there for her, Link also made an oath, to protect them until the end of time, now that they both had a second chance to be together, they weren't going to let anybody take away their happiness.
And even so, now that Enedy turned 3, Zelda wondered all this time, thinking about how exactly she was going to explain to her everything that happened 100 years ago. Obviously she wasn't going to tell her everything right now, she might not even comprehend it but, someday, she will have to, and that would change her life forever. She didn't want that, neither did Link, so, when Enedy was born, they talked about it, and how eventually the will have to tell her the whole story of the cataclysm, the champions who lost their lives, the castle, and specially Zelda's powers. For starters, they didn't even know if Enedy would have her powers when she gets older since Zelda manifested hers when she thought that Link was going to die, just thinking about it send a shiver to her back since she didn't like to imagine what could´ve happened if her powers hadn't appear at that moment. Anyways, they both prayed and implored the Goddesses so that their daughter would not have to go through something like that, ever, and because of that, they took the decision that if in case she does manifest her powers, they would tell her the truth and, in case she didn't manifest them at all, they would tell her regardless, but that would probably be on their deathbed, preferably in 70 years.
Now, this may look incredibly selfish, but they knew that it was inevitable that Enedy was going to learn about the Divine Beasts and the story of the battle with Ganon, regardless if they don't mention it, they imagine her traveling all around Hyrule, and then she will have questions, lots of them.
"Why I don't have any grandparents"
"Don't you think it's a little odd that you're named after Hyrule's Princess?"
"Dad's sword it's kinda weird, it exactly like the one I read on a book. Why does he has it? Is it a replica?"
"Hey guys, why do you get along so well with the leaders and royalty of the other kingdoms?"
She knew they couldn't hide the past, Enedy didn't deserve to be lied to, but they didn't want their daughter to carry the weight of being (technically) the new princess of Hyrule while she was still a little girl. They didn't want her to go through everything Zelda went through.
"What is this golden light!?"
Zelda imagined her daughter asking that when she gets older. Would she be mad with them for not telling her the truth? Would she understand that they didn't told her anything because they wanted to protect her and to have a normal childhood without any preoccupations? And what if someday they decided to go back to the castle? And what if-.
"Mommy?"
Zelda came out of her trance, so many questions got her distracted form Enedy, who seemed to be awake for some time now.
"Oh, sweetie, good morning" said Zelda, getting closer to her daughter to give her a kiss on the forehead, Enedy smiled "How are you feeling?"
"Great!"
"Does it hurt anywhere?"
"Nope, I'm fine" Zelda couldn't understand how can a being so adorable as her daughter could even be real, she would have loved Link to be here so he could see how sweetly she smiled, he is supposed to arrive later today from hunting, they didn't need a lot of things this time, Link said that with 2 days out would be enough.
"That's great, are you hungry? Do you want some fruit for breakfast?"
"Yes!" Zelda smiled and they both got out of bed, heading to the kitchen.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Zelda doesn't know how to cook, she tried once, originally she wanted to cook something for Link when they still lived in the castle, but then she thought that it would be really obvious her crush for him, so, she had the idea of cooking for all the soldiers. That went horrible, and apparently everyone got sick, so it was best for her baby to eat something else, even Zelda knew how to use a knife to cut apples.
"Are you going to open the store today mommy?"
"Yes, but I'm only gonna deliver some orders, I'll wait for your dad to organize everything he brought"
"Can I help you and daddy?" How could she say no when she looks so happy
"Of course my love, although you have to eat something first" With that, she grabbed her fork and started to eat.
Enedy's idea of helping her parents was to arrange the flowers by colors, that way they looked prettier, Zelda appreciated the effort.
"You know, since daddy isn't home yet, you can go outside and play until he's here" Enedy nearly jumps of excitement, she loved going outside of her house to explore, Link and Zelda put up a fence around the house to prevent any accidents, but they still warned her to not get near the fences and pointed the areas where she could play, they had turns to watch her, but they were extremely grateful that she was obedient and careful.
Enedy changed her pajamas, meanwhile Zelda was clearing the table and started to prepare to open the store. In there, she had any kinds of plants and bugs, to this day she still got fascinated of how many species were growing in the wild when a 100 years ago they were on the verge of extinction, not only that, but there were new species, things she never saw before, being able to study them was a part of her job so, naturally, she loved her job.
Enedy loved being outside, there was something about being surrounded by trees that made her feel happy, when her dad arrived from a trip, he would tell her about the places that he visited, she could only imagine being there with her dad, exploring every single inch of Hyrule, and fighting monsters! She admired her dad's strength and her mom's kindness more than everything. The backyard was full of Enedy's toys thrown on the ground, like some horses made out of wood that Link made for her, or dolls with beautiful dressed that Zelda created. She loved to pretend that she was an explorer, or that the house was a castle that she had to protect from monster, among other things, she arranged the dolls and horses for a "race" where the whole patio was the run track, that way she could have a toy on both hands, the tack was supposed to be a lap around the house and the store, she stares to run and gave at least 3 consecutive laps until she got tired and went inside the house to have a glass of water. Zelda was with a client, a lady who was picking up an elixir, so Enedy went out again, uninterested on their conversation.
Just when she was about to go through the backdoor of the house, she started to feel a little dizzy, as if the whole house was going on circles, then she tripped and fell on the grass, she didn't cry, she doesn't like to cry, but she didn't call to her mom.
She felt weird. Even as a small child, she knew that if she felt sick or if anything happened to her she should tell her parents, but this was…different, she didn't know what it was, but since she didn't wanted to feel sick again, she stood up and went inside, but in the moment she stretched her arm, she notice a yellowish light on her right hand, with some sort of triangle. Then she heard a voice.
"Little bird?"
She raised her head, and in front of her were 4 people she had never seen before.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
Shortly after the lady was gone, Zelda noticed something across the bridge, Link was approaching to the house. Zelda got out of the counter to receive her husband, Link stopped his horse and jumped out, smiling when he saw Zelda approaching him. He extended his arms to receive his wife with a hug, which she strongly reciprocated, when the broke the hug, he grabbed her chin to look at her face, he caressed her temple, then her cheeks to get her closer for them to kiss. It may be an exaggeration, but for the whole trip, he could only think of his family, in fact, there has been some times that he wanted to get home quicker than usual, so he had forgotten some things he recollected.
They broke the kiss and locked eyes, both smiling.
"How was the trip? Are you hurt anywhere?" Zelda asked, moving Link's face trying to find any recent scars. Link grabbed Zelda's hand.
"I'm fine, don't worry, in fact, I haven't seen any monsters on my way back, only a couple of bokoblins when I left, but nothing serious"
"I see, well, I'm glad you're back, safe and sound"
"Me too, um, and Enedy? Is she still asleep?"
"No, she has been up for a while, actually, yesterday she had this terrible fever and-"
Link's expression changed in a second, squeezing Zelda's hand while he was heading inside their home.
"Goddesses, i-is she okay? Was it terrible?" Zelda swore she couldn't love this man much more than she did right now.
"Don't worry, she's all right, much better, I gave her some medicine and stayed up all night taking care of her"
"Oh" he said with a relieved sigh "I'm sorry I wasn't there to help you, and I know I have to go out and hunt for us, for the store, and I don't want to put you or Enedy in any danger but still, I miss you so much".
"Hey…don't worry about it, remember, everything we do, we do it for her, besides, we could wait another year so we can all go together to recollect the materials for the store, I worry about you too, and we miss you very much when you're not with us".
He looked at her, then planted a kiss on her cheek "All right".
They were walking towards the store.
"So, how's the northeast?" Zelda asked, excited to hear about the state of her kingdom.
"Rainy, very rainy, but that´s the least of it, on my way I met a merchant that was selling some beautiful gems, but you could tell from a mile away that they were fake since the color wasn't-"
Link was interrupted by a stumble from Zelda, but since she had her hand around his arm, she didn't tripped and fall.
"H-hey…are you okay?"
"Uh, y-yeah, I just felt a little…dizzy…" Zelda noticed a mild golden light on her right hand, with the symbol of the triforce, which was a little…peculiar. Since they defeated Ganon, she never used her powers again and, while she could feel her holy powers vanishing as the years went by, luckily she never had to use them again, she even had accepted the fact that if they disappeared there wouldn't be any problem but, why now? Does this mean that Ganos was back? Goddesses no, that couldn't be possible, or could it? If he was truly back, then there must have been some kind of sign, so, was someone hurt? Or maybe-.
"Enedy" Zelda looked at Link with anguish, he didn't think twice when he started running along Zelda to the backyard of their home.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
"She has blue eyes, it can't be her" Said a young man that appeared to be a Rito. Enedy had no idea who these people were, but strangely, she felt some kind of comfort seeing them.
"Honestly, my main concern is that I have no idea what are we doing here" The Goron's voice was loud, but friendly.
"Well, I think we are scaring the child, I know it's weird for us to be here, but I doubt she some sort of idea of why we're here" Enedy has a feeling that she has seen this Zora lady before, but where?
"And the symbol of the triforce on her hand? I don't know how much time has passed since the last time we were on Hyrule on spirit form, but clearly this little girl is part of the royal family, besides…she has a great resemblance with the Princess". A Princess? Enedy didn't quite understand what the Gerudo woman was saying, but apparently she knew something about her hand and the light that was coming from it.
"Hey" Everyone turned their heads to the girl "My hand itches"
"But it doesn't hurt, right?" Said the Gerudo lady "It's more like a tickle" After saying that she gave her a smile.
"Kinda, I just hope it stops" Enedy knew she shouldn't talk to strangers, but somehow she felt okay with them, her parents were going to be so mad if they ever found out though. "Do you know what this is?" she asked while raising her hand.
"Didn't your mom explain it to you?" Said the Rito man, with a frustrating tone.
"Uhh, no" she said almost mocking him. "And do I really look like a Princess? Like from my storybooks?" she asked excitedly.
"Actually…you remind me more of her knight" said the young Zora.
Suddenly, they heard some strong and fast footsteps, Enedy turned around and saw her parents getting closer to her, almost at the speed of light, they kneeled and hugged her, she was really confused. Rapidly they notices the group in front of their daughter.
How was this possible?
Zelda was shocked at the presence of the Champions, they looked exactly as she remembered, and she couldn't believe it, after all these years, after Link freed them from the Divine Beasts…Where their spirits still attached to the land? Didn't they found eternal peace after the final battle with Ganon? Zelda was extremely confused, her eyes filled with tears, and then Link stood up.
"Is it really you guys…Mipha, Daruk, Revali, Urbosa?"
Every single one of the Champions had the same look as Link did, without any single clue of what was going on.
"Yes" Said Revali "It's us, and apparently it hasn't been so long since we defeated Ganon since you look exactly the same since we last saw you, and I see you didn't waste any time"
Both Link and Zelda felt so glad to hear such an arrogant comment, typical of him, it was unbelievable that this was happening.
"But, how is this possible? Don't get me wrong, I'm so glad to see you, really, it's just that…after Ganon…I thought you would be watching us from the spirit realm".
"Well, it's a little complicated to explain but, when our souls finally felt peace after the battle with Ganon, that was the only thing we felt all this time, peace, but then suddenly, when I opened my eyes, I found-We found ourselves on this village, in front of this little girl" Mipha looked at Enedy, who was trying to understand everything she said. She has blue eyes, just like Link, she smiled at the thought of that.
Zelda stood up and got close to the Champions.
"I…don't know what to say…I…" Then her knees started to tremble until she fell on the floor and started to cry, Urbosa got close, trying to comfort her.
"Little bird, don't cry…we may not had the chance to tell you, and I speak for all of us when I tell you that none of us blames you for what happened, all this time I prayed to the Godesses for them to give you the peace and closure that you needed, to be freed for the guilt you felt for so long…"
Everyone started to comfort Zelda on their own way, they began to tell her that she needed to stop feeling guilty about what happened, and that they were really happy that her and Link were alive and good after all the hell they went through that day and the years after. They were also overjoyed to meet their daughter.
"Thank you, I…really appreciate your words" That was everything Zelda could say, she knew that everything the Champions told her were true, but still, it was hard for her not to think about what could have been if she just woke her powers sooner. She hoped that, over time, the wound would heal from the guilt she felt. Perhaps, with the words from everyone, that wound would heal a little faster.
She felt a hand over hers, squeezing it a little, she turned and saw Link beside her. She felt a little better.
"Well, I have no idea how any of this is possible, but I'm so glad to see you again" His eyes started to water.
"Dad don't cry" Enedy said with anguish.
"No, my love, these are happy tears, you see…they are our friends, people very dear to us".
Daruk looked at the scene "I believe the little one has something to do with all of this" He said, pointing at Enedy, she quickly looked at her parents. "She has the triforce, after all".
With so many emotions, Zelda didn't realize her daguther's hand, which was faintly glowing, just as hers.
"Is it something bad" Enedy asked, a little scared "It still itches" She kept scratching her hand.
"No, of course not sweetie, it's not bad and nothing bad will happen to you, I promise" Zelda assured Enedy, who seemed to be more calmed.
"So, it's safe to assume that this little angel is your daughter, right?"
"Ah, yes, she's our daughter, her name is Enedy, she just turned 3 this year" Then Link made a gesture for her to introduce herself.
"Uh, hi!" She waved her hand, with slightly red cheeks.
"She's adorable" Mipha knelt to observe Enedy's face, like father like daughter.
"No wonder I mistook her for you, Princess, you have the same hair color" Urbosa seemed to analyze the girl, with a gentle look on her gaze.
"Princess?" Enedy looked at her mother, wondering why did they call her that.
"Oh" Zelda started to get tense then directed her gaze to the champions "We haven't told her about anything that happened, we believe she's too young, so we decided that it's best for her to grow up, that way she could have a better understanding of everything, and that way we could´ve also see if she manifested her powers, or not, we would told her regardless of it, but, obviously we didn´t expect her to have awaken her powers at such an early age, we estimated at least another 10 years of waiting":
Link turned his head to the champions "So it is very likely that Enedy brought you here, I don´t know why, or how, actually, and I don't really know how the bloodline powers of the royal family work, but I believe that her powers appears spontaneously, just like yours Zelda". Link took Enedy in his arms, showing her right hand that was still glowing.
"You're right, my grandmother could heard the voices of the spirit realm, maybe Enedy can summon them"
"That sounds terrifying" Daruk pushed Revali, maybe that way he would keep his mouth shut, he might scare the girl.
"Anyways" he tried to change the subject "Since we're all here, maybe we could do a little exploring, and I'd like to see how everybody's doing in Goron city".
The champions made a weird gesture.
Would they be here for all eternity?
"I don't think that's a good idea" Said Revali, pulling the Goron's arm.
"Why not?"
"Because they might not see you" Mipha said that, and her voice started to crack "Did you never tried to speak to anybody while we were trapped on the beasts?"
"Well, I couldn't get out of it"
"Neither could I, but I remember that one time, Sidon tried to get close to Ruta". She was crying. "He got as close as he could so she wouldn't attack him, and I tried to scream his name as loud as I could, I did everything to get his attention, but he wouldn't listen, couldn't listen at all":
Urbosa and Revali seemed to perfectly understand Mipha's feelings. Zelda felt guiltier than ever, she got close to her, embracing her in a hug.
"There are not enough words that I could say to apologize to all of you" she said crying "Even though you say it's not my fault, I can't help it but think that it is" tears fell without stop, especially for Mipha, Zelda felt a great deal of guilt when she recalled the relief she felt when Link told her that he wouldn't take Mipha as her bride. "I hope that someday you can find it in your hearts to forgive me, for taking away your future".
Enedy started to cry too, as if she felt her mother's pain. Link could only hold her closer in his arms, trying to calm her.
"Your highness, don't blame yourself for what happened to us" Said Revali "If it was up to me, I would gladly fight again for my kingdom, to stay and do nothing is for cowards anyways, besides, I know my legacy is going to be an inspiration for future generations" Revali got closer to the princess "The most noble of battles is when you fight for something you love, and dying for it is not in vain".
"Revali's right, I won't lie when I tell you that I don't regret missing some things, I would´ve love to assist your wedding, or be there for you when your daughter was born" Urbosa got close to Zelda "But I rather be this way, seeing how much you've grown as a person, Hyrule and its habitants are safe, and my people are prospering as always".
"The truth is that Ganon was someone difficult to defeat, but in the end everything went fine, so I'm pretty satisfied to have fought for my people, and for the Kingdom, of course" Said Daruk "So, Princess, please stop crying".
Mipha looked at Zelda in the eyes, "See? We are all fine with our destinies, maybe in another life it could've been different, but right now we're living in the present, satisfied knowing that our loved ones are safe and sound" Link got close to the group, hugging both Mipha and his wife. Enedy was more calmed, trying to hug everyone too, she raised her arms, and Link noticed that the light on his daughter's hand was starting to flicker.
Zelda noticed the same thing on her hand, she slowly walked away from the group, looking at her hand with sadness, she tried to dry the tears that wouldn't stop falling, and as she looked at everyone, she smiled.
"Thank you…the guilt I fell right now may not disappear magically, but after this, I feel as if I could start healing my soul, so truly, thank you everyone":
Enedy and Zelda's hands were still flickering. Everyone knew what that meant.
"Well, I guess your magic is dissipating…please, I would like you to tell my father and brother that I love them very much, and that they shouldn't worry about me, I'm fine, and that I'm always by their side" Mipha gave a gentle look, full of love, just as always.
"Of course we'll tell them…you know, Sidon already fights better than you and me, and your father is fine, they both miss you so much, just like your people, but they know that you fought bravely to protect them, and they're grateful for that, just like I am" Link gave her a hug, which she happily responded. "Thank you, Link, I appreciate that" They broke from the hug, and Mipha turned her gaze to Enedy. "It was a pleasure to meet you darling, I'm sure you'll grow to be strong, beautiful and gentle, just like your parents" then she hugged her, which the girl gladly accepted.
"My little bird, I'm so proud of the woman you've become, I know Hyrule will have the best leader of all time"
"Urbosa…" Zelda hugged her, she didn't remember the last time she had done that.
"Enedy is very lucky to have you as her parents" She told that to both of them as she got closer to the kid "I would've loved to be there for you, but I truly hope you have a prosperous and happy life, my little dove". She gave her a hug, Enedy had no idea what "prosperous" meant, but she knew that it had to be something good, and the hug was warm.
Daruk got everyone close in his arms, just like he did when they took that picture so many years ago "I'm not sure if we'll ever see each other again, but I'm happy to see all of you again".
"Well, for a momentary reunion, I guess I'm glad to be here too…" Said Revali, with that insolent smile that they were going to miss so much.
The lights on the hands stopped flickering, then started to vanish, the champions looked at the family. Then, everybody started to glow from head to toes, a faint blue light embraced them, until, slowly, they started to disappear, with smiles on their faces and nostalgic gazes onto the family.
"I know we'll see each other again…please, keep taking care of us". Link was sure Zelda was thinking of the same thing.
"You will always be on my thoughts and heart, Champions, my friends, thank you for everything" Both parties smiled.
"Bye-bye!" Enedy started to wave her arms, as a sign of goodbye. The Champions did the same until they disappeared.
"They're really gone…" Zelda said with a cracking voice.
"Hey…you've heard them, they're okay with all that happened" he took her by the hand "And I hope that someday you can see it that way".
Zelda gave him a tender smile, she knew that it was going to be hard to forgive herself, but someday, she will.
"I'll do my best, for them, for you, and for me" Link kissed her temple, with tears running their cheeks.
"Thanks love" Link wiped her tears.
"So, do you think Enedy will do this again?" Zelda looked at him, a little worried "I mean, we don't know how she woke up her powers, nor how she summoned the Champion's spirits".
"You're right" Zelda stared at her daughter "Do you remember how the light in your hand appeared, well, in your hand?"
"No, I just fell and suddenly they were in front of me, shouldn't I have done that?" Enedy ask, worried that they would scold her.
"No honey, its fine, don't worry about it, you did nothing wrong"
"Just be more careful when you're running" Link looked at Zelda "It may be a coincidence, we'll have to observe carefully to see if her powers are awoken randomly" Link worried that if someone recognized the light, especially the Yiga Clan, they would try to get close to her. If some of them were stupid enough to even think about hurting his family, or tried to approach them, they wouldn't have a tongue to tell, nor eyes or feet. He was not going to let anybody hurt them.
Judging by Link's face, Zelda knew what was he thinking about, they wanted Enedy to have a peaceful childhood, with no fears or stress, unlike Zelda's, they'll have to keep a low profile to avoid spontaneous attacks.
"Okay daddy, I'll be more careful" Enedy could tell that her parents were very serious, maybe they were sad because of the people that just left, so she decided to do something that could be good for everybody. She even forgot about her supposed "powers", she didn't quite understand what just happened.
"Would you tell me more about them, before I go to sleep?" Both Link and Zelda changed their attitude, of course she'd have questions about the Champions, and they would make sure that her daughter would be amazed with the stories they'll tell her.
"Of course, we'll tell you all the stories you want" They will tell her about the champions, but they want to keep as quiet as they can about her powers until they could know more about them, they would also keep to themselves about her being the heir to the throne, that could wait for some time.
For Zelda, it was strange how the thoughts of this morning became a reality hours later, but as she looked at her family, she knew that Enedy would understand someday everything they did for her, to keep her happiness. Though there was still so much time for that.
So, between tears and smiles, they went back home.
