Written for GoChi Fall 2021 Event - Day 2: Wind

If there was one thing he liked about riding on his golden cloud, it was the wind blowing on his body, ruffling his unruly hair. Goku loved to ride his little cloud to all corners of this world, always finding new challenges, new opponents to fight, new adventures, meeting new people, and making new friends.

Goku was quietly flying over his precious nimbus towards his home, feeling the cool evening wind touch his face and ruffle his hair, while he reflected on his life.

It was funny to think about this idea of having friends. For a long time, it was just him and Grandpa Gohan, just the two of them and nobody else. He didn't even know that there was a world beyond those mountains where he lived, beyond the animals that lived there, and that he occasionally had to hunt for food. But then came Bulma, his first friend, and after that came so many others like Krillin, Roshi, Oolong, Yamcha, Pual, Tien Shinhan, Chiaotzu, Launch...

Damn! That was a lot of friends! Especially for someone who hadn't had anyone for a long time...

And he didn't even know what friends were, nor did he know that one day he would make those friendships that now he valued so much.

But more than that, he had never imagined that, besides friends, he would one day get a wife.

And he didn't even know what marriage was.

It had been a few months since he got married and, alongside Chichi, went to live in a small house on top of Mount Paozu, where he used to live with his grandpa. At first, it was very confusing, as he didn't really understand the concept of a marriage and a life together in the sense he had with her. He lived with various people during all these years, with his grandpa, with Roshi, Krillin, and Launch (and the turtle), with Mr. Popo and Kami Sama, but it was very different from living a married life with Chichi.

Very different...

And also much better...

But now, after this little time living together as a couple, he had come to understand well how this marriage thing worked.

He approached his house and from the distance, he saw his young wife hanging out some clothes on the clothesline. His beautiful and beloved wife...

He smiled.

He believed she was absolutely beautiful.

When he was a child, he didn't know very well how to differentiate this kind of thing, to tell the truth, he had never seen any difference from one person to another. They were all people to him. Master Roshi tried to explain to him what a beautiful woman and an ugly woman were, but he couldn't see any difference in the examples he showed him. To Goku, they were people, with different characteristics, but nothing more than that. It was only after the wedding that Goku began to understand the difference, although for him all the other women and men in the world were still the same. The only beautiful woman for him was Chichi.

And he knew that ever since he had first seen her as an adult, at the martial arts tournament, she had caught his attention, not only because she had yelled at him for a reason he didn't even know "but which he understood later "but because she was a strong and skilled fighter who had managed to make it among the 8 finalists in that edition. He had felt attracted to her at that moment, he just didn't know yet what that meant but understood later.

For a long time, Goku had been fine with being alone, on his own, and also traveling alone in his little yellow cloud, even because, it wasn't just anyone who could climb on it, but now he had Chichi and she could also ride in his little cloud. And that was great because he simply loved to ride with Chichi on the nimbus. He loved to see her smile as the cloud flew over the places, to feel her delicate arms wrap tightly around his body when she sat behind or his strong arms wrap around her in a warm hug when he went behind, to see the wind kiss her cheek and scatter the strands of her black hair everywhere and leave a trail of her delicious perfume.

And what he once considered to be something he enjoyed doing alone, today he enjoyed doing in accompanied.

In her company.

He had already made the sale of the hunts he had taken earlier, at her request, and was returning to hand her the money he had earned. He then jumped down from the cloud near her and said: "Hey Chichi! I'm back!"

She smiled gently at him.

"That's great, Goku! How was it?"

"It was fine. I sold everything!" he smiled proudly. "Here is the money!" he held out to her the zeni notes from the sale.

Chichi took the notes in her hands and checked the amount.

"Hmmm... That was a good sale, congratulations!" She smiled, then stood on her tiptoes and gave him a peck on the cheek. "Thank you, honey!"

Goku felt his heart melt, and then scratched the tip of his nose a little uncomfortably. It was always like this. Every time he did something that made her happy, he was happy too.

She put the money in her apron pocket and continued to hang the clothes on the clothesline, while he stood there helping her. Although he could tell there was something different about her... something he couldn't quite put his finger on, but there was like a glow in her, in her aura...

Well, whatever it was, she was still as beautiful as ever.

The next morning, Goku woke up to the sound of Chichi in the bathroom. She didn't seem to be doing very well and he felt a change in her KI, something he had been noticing for a few days.

Worried, he got up and went to the bathroom, but the door was locked. He then shouted from the other side: "Honey, is everything all right?"

"Yes, Goku, everything is fine!" She replied. "I guess the last night's dinner didn't sit well with me…"

He frowned, confused.

"But you are fine?"

"Yes!"

Then he heard the sound of the toilet flushing and then the sink faucet turning on. He still stood in front of the door, apprehensive. He had never seen Chichi sick before and also didn't think that her food could have done her any harm. It certainly didn't to him, but he was very resistant to this sort of thing.

Soon she unlocked the door and left as if everything was normal and she hadn't just thrown up her guts along with last night's dinner.

"Are you not feeling well?"

"I'm fine, Goku, really..." she smiled sweetly. "I just had a little bit of nausea, probably from that greasy dinosaur meat from last night's dinner." she said casually as she changed her clothes. "I think we'd better hold off on the dinosaur meat for a while. I thought about making fish today, how's that sound?"

"But Chi, your KI, I can feel it-"

"I'm fine!" she sounded firm and he shut up.

"Okay… If there's anything I can do, let me know!" he said and then hugged her gently as she just nodded, hugging him back.

He felt that her sickness was related to this change he had noticed in her, and it was beginning to worry him a little bit.

Later that same day Chichi had another episode like that, a little after Launch, when she was cleaning the kitchen, after Goku had picked up a jar of nuts to eat, which just the smell made her stomach churn almost instantly. He only had time to see Chichi run into the bathroom with her hands in her mouth, and worriedly went after her.

"Chi, honey, are you okay?" he asked from outside the bathroom.

She didn't answer and he could only hear her vomiting again.

"Chichi! You don't look well... You're sick! Shouldn't we go see a doctor?"

"I'm fine, Goku, everything's fine..."

Goku sighed and crossed his arms. He just wanted to know a way to help her... Then he had an idea.

The next minute, Chichi came out of the bathroom. She looked restless and tense. He held her by the waist and smiled sweetly as he looked into her big, dark eyes.

"Hey, I think I know what might make ya feel better."

"What?"

"A ride on the nimbus!"

She squeezed her eyes shut, a little surprised by his proposal.

"I don't know, Goku... I'm... I'm fine... "

"Come on, let's go!" he pulled her by the hand. "I know it will be good for ya!

"But Goku..."

"When I eat something that doesn't sit well with me and I feel sick, a ride on the nimbus with the fresh wind blowing in my face always makes me feel better. Come on, I'm sure you'll feel better after this!" he dragged her out of the house. Then he shouted: "FLYING NIBUS!"

And immediately the little golden cloud appeared in front of him. Goku jumped on top of the cloud and excitedly held out his hand to Chichi, who was looking at him fearfully.

"Come on in! Trust me!"

Chichi smiled and then took his hand and climbed on the cloud.

She stood in front of Goku and he hugged her tightly, wrapping his arms around her torso.

"To the sky, nimbus!"

And so the little cloud took off into the sky, without exactly a destination, just flying from one side to the other.

Chichi smiled as she felt the cool wind blowing over her body and swaying her hair in all directions. She rested her head on Goku's chest, who rested his head on top of hers, and sighed quietly and happily, just enjoying the ride in the little cloud, avoiding thinking about anything else, avoiding worrying about anything else. Right now, she just wanted to enjoy the ride with her beloved husband.

They remained silent for a while, enjoying each other's company, until Chichi spoke up: "You were right, Goku, feeling the wind hitting and me refreshing me, really helped. I'm feeling better now!"

He smiled broadly.

"I knew it would work!"

"But, could we stop and come down for a moment? There is something I need to talk to you about..."

"Sure!" he nodded, and soon the little cloud stopped over a field with many fruit trees. He was already getting hungry again, so he might as well grab one of those fruits to eat.

He first came down from the cloud and then helped her, but he already went straight to the nearest tree and started picking some of the reddest apples he could find. Chichi rolled her eyes and laughed, he and his huge stomach, it was always like this. Goku offered her a nice and red apple that he had picked, but she denied it with her head and then, she began:

"Goku, about this nausea I'm having... It's not because I'm sick or anything, in fact, I found out why earlier today, while you were gathering firewood..." as she said, Goku continued to pick and eat more apples, not even seeming to pay attention to what she was saying, which made her a little more nervous and distressed. "I did a test and found out, that actually-"

"Eww!" Goku grimaced as he bit into an apple and then threw it away. "This one was rotten, eww!"

"Goku!" she frowned putting her hands on her waist, and he continued to look at the other apples. "Goku! Pay attention to what I'm telling you, it's important!"

He then stopped with a dozen apples in his arms and one in his mouth and stared at her alienated.

Chichi cleared his throat and straightened his posture and continued: "As I was saying, earlier today, while you were getting firewood, I-"

"Look! Peaches!" he exclaimed, chewing the apple that was in his mouth, then he ran to the peach tree ahead. Chichi squeezed his eyes shut.

"Goku, I... I'm talking to you!"

"Mmmm! They're delicious, do you want one?"

"GOKU!" she screamed, foaming by the mouth, nervous and irritated by her husband's lack of attention.

He cringed, still holding the fruits in his hand, and dryly swallowed the piece of peach in his mouth.

"I'm here trying to tell you something important, trying to explain to you why I'm not feeling well, trying to tell you that I'm pregnant and that we're going to have a child, while you just stand there worrying about eating! How inconsiderate of you!" she chattered irritably and non-stop, gesturing nervously with her hands and not even noticing Goku's eyes widen, as his jaw drop and his hands drop all the fruit on the floor. "Can't you stop eating for a second to listen to what I'm saying to you? By Kami, how-"

"Pregnant?"

She stopped suddenly and looked at him, realizing what she had said and the surprised expression on his face.

"You said you are pregnant?" Goku took a step towards her.

She relaxed her shoulders and sighed.

"Yes... I am pregnant, Goku!" she smiled with the corner of her mouth and also saw the expression of pure happiness on her husband's face.

Goku had a huge smile and his eyes were shining brightly. He took Chichi in his arms and whirled her around laughing.

"You're pregnant, Chichi! Pregnant! We're going to have a baby!"

Chichi just laughed, but her eyes soon began to fill with tears from the strong emotion she was feeling right now. They were going to have a baby, they were going to increase their family!

"Yes, Goku, we are going to have a baby!"

"This is incredible! It's incredible, honey!" He then realized that she was crying and changed his expression to one of concern, putting her down. "What is it? Why are you crying? Aren't you happy?"

"Yes, of course, I am! It's tears of happiness, sweetheart, of joy!"

Goku smiled even more and then claimed her lips to his, feeling the sweet taste of his beloved wife's mouth. Chichi wrapped her arms around his neck as she made room for his tongue to explore her gently and caressingly in a slow, tasty kiss.

The two had already discussed this topic, as Chichi had told him early on that she wanted to have a large family and many children and Goku had immediately gone along with this idea, especially after discovering how good the process of "making babies" was. He already knew what it was like in theory, but only really understood it on their wedding night and after that, it was hard not to want to put the plan of increasing the family into practice. They had been trying for a while, so it was only a matter of time before it happened. He should have suspected that the difference he had noticed in her was associated with this, mainly the oscillation in her KI, which was now mixed with another, from a new life she was generating.

Goku smiled amidst the kiss as his hands clasped Chichi firmly but lovingly against himself. It was so much joy. He never had a family, like a mother or a father, only his grandpa, so he didn't really know what it was like, but he always wished he had a cub, ever since he was a little boy and saw the animals in the forest having cubs, he always imagined what it would be like if one day he had one too.

Thank goodness that he found Chichi, or rather, that she found him again so that he could fulfill this wish. Especially if it was next to the most incredible woman he had ever met.

"Ah Chi, you don't know how happy this news made me!" he commented as soon as he parted his lips, but kept both their foreheads pressed together and the tips of their noses touching. "So, you're not sick, you're just pregnant, with our child! That's amazing"

Chichi smiled and her heart beat faster. It was clear that the news had made him happy, as he even let go of the fruits. She was a little apprehensive about delivering the news to him, and she meant to say it in a better way than that, but seeing him happy like this made her relax instantly.

"I love you!" she said before quickly sealing her lips with his. "I love you so much!"

"I love you too, very very much!"

Goku put his hand on her belly and massaged it gently. There was a life growing there, a life that was part of him and part of Chichi, and he couldn't wait to see it for himself.

Months later, the good old golden cloud was once again flying across the valleys and peaks of the Paozu region.

In front of him, he hugged Chichi tighter, who rested her head on his chest, also enjoying the gentle wind, while in her lap was a little baby, who giggled and babbled happily with his little tail whipping all around. He, just like his mommy and daddy, also loved to ride on the little golden cloud, and every time he gets too agitated, Goku and Chichi took him for a little ride to calm him down.

The cloud was small, but it accommodated all three of them perfectly, and for Goku, who once enjoyed the ride only by himself, and later with his beloved wife, he now enjoyed also with his beloved son.

He, the nimbus, and his beloved family!
