It was a school day, and surprisingly, Marcie, Peppermint Patty, Franklin, and their classmates were going to Charlie Brown's school. They each had to find who to sit with since there were no spare desks. Peppermint Patty found Charlie Brown.

"Peppermint Patty? What are you doing at my school?" Charlie Brown asked.

"Hey, Chuck!" called Peppermint Patty. "Our school's closed for refurbishment, so we've been transferred to your school until it's complete. You know what that means?"

"No. What?" asked Charlie Brown.

"We get to sit together." Smiled Peppermint Patty.

This grabbed Miss Donovan's attention.

Oh, not exactly, Ma'am." Peppermint Patty replied sheepishly. "I just decided to sit with Chuck because… um…. Every other desk has been taken."

Snoopy had managed to go into the school as Joe Cool, and sat right next to Violet. Violet looked beside her, and was puzzled by Snoopy sitting next to her. Snoopy lifted his sunglasses, winked at Violet, and Violet smacked him right across the face. Lucy saw all this, picked up Snoopy, and threw him out of the building.

"No dogs!" shouted Lucy.

Snoopy was puzzled by this.

Just after this, Snoopy's little friend Woodstock managed to fly in, taking Snoopy's place. But Woodstock wore a fake moustache and a bowler hat so people wouldn't know that he's a bird. Woodstock tried to do the same thing Snoopy did with Violet, but Lucy walked up to Woodstock and Violet. As Woodstock tipped his hat, Lucy pulled both his moustache and hat off, and threw him out of the building where Snoopy lay.

"No birds!" Lucy shouted to Woodstock.

Snoopy and Woodstock looked at each other in bemusement.

Peppermint Patty's best friend Marcie had to find someone else to sit with. Because Peppermint Patty had chosen to sit with Charlie Brown, she had to choose a different person. There was only one student who was all alone. This student's name is Patty. Not Peppermint Patty, but Violet's best friend Patty.

"Excuse me. Is this seat taken?" asked Marcie.

"No." replied Patty. "She's all yours… er…."

"Marcie." The bespectacled girl replied.

"Marcie? Have a seat, Marcie." Patty replied.

Marcie grabbed a chair and went to Patty's seat.

"The name's Patty, by the way."

"Patty?" said Marcie. "Well, let's focus on our school work, Sir."

Patty was puzzled by what Marcie just called her.

"Sir?! Do I look like a boy to you?" She asked.

"Hmm… not exactly, Sir." Replied Marcie.

"Then why are you calling me Sir?" Patty demanded.

"Because of your name, Sir." Marcie replied.

During lunch, Charlie Brown was sitting down, when who should sit next to him but Marcie.

"Hey, Charles." Sighed Marcie.

"Oh. Hi, Marcie." Said Charlie Brown.

"Charles, I need your help." Replied Marcie.

"Help with what?" Charlie Brown asked Marcie.

"My desk partner is named Patty, and I can't figure out what to do about her." Marcie explained.

"What a coincidence." Replied Charlie Brown. "My desk partner's also named Patty."

"I know, Charles, but this isn't the Patty I know and hang out with all the time."

"Oh, you mean Violet's friend. That's our Patty, not yours." Said Charlie Brown.

"But….." Marcie began. "There can't be two Pattys, Charles!"

Lunch time was over, and the students had returned to class. Peppermint Patty started to hassle Charlie Brown. Charlie Brown had written the answer to one question as "True".

"True?!" exclaimed Peppermint Patty. "Why did you put down True? The answer is False! Put down False, Chuck, or I will never speak to you again!"

The teacher heard her this time.

"No, Ma'am." Replied Charlie Brown. "She's not giving me the answers. Forcing maybe, but not giving."

Peppermint Patty looked angrily at Charlie Brown for what he just said about her giving him the answers.

Soon, Peppermint Patty started to fall asleep. As she did, Miss Donovan asked a question.

"How many times is 65 divided to make 13?" asked Charlie Brown.

Miss Donovan called out for Peppermint Patty.

"I'm awake!" exclaimed Peppermint Patty. "The answer is 16!"

But she was wrong.

"The answer is 7!" answered Peppermint Patty again.

"5!" called Charlie Brown.

And he was right.

"You contradicted me, Chuck." Grumbled Peppermint Patty.

"7 was the wrong answer." Replied Charlie Brown. "I had to say 5."

"You don't like me, do you Chuck?"

Marcie's time with the other Patty was no better.

"Why did you put down False, Sir?" asked Marcie.

"I think the answer to this question is False, Marcie." Replied Patty angrily. "And I am not Sir!"

"But the answer is True, Sir. Put down True, Sir, or I will never help you again!"

This argument grabbed Miss Donovan's attention.

"No, Ma'am. Said Patty. "She's just forcing the answers on me."

"I'm just trying to help you get better grades, Sir." Explained Marcie.

"I know you mean well, Marcie," said Patty. "and quit calling me Sir!"

Later that day, after school, Marcie came over to the Brown residence and knocked on the door. Charlie Brown answered it.

"Oh. Hey, Marcie." Said Charlie Brown.

"Good afternoon, Charles." Replied Marcie. "Since Peppermint Patty wouldn't come over due to her nap, I thought I'd come to your place." "Come to my place?" exclaimed Charlie Brown.

"I need your help, Charles." Demanded Marcie.

So Marcie sat on the sofa with Charlie Brown.

"So what is it you need help with, Marcie?" asked Charlie Brown.

"The Patty I am sitting with doesn't like cooperating with me." Marcie explained.

"That's that Patty for you." said Charlie Brown. "I think she's better off sitting with her best friend Violet, since they along with Lucy like to tease me. Also, your friend Peppermint Patty wasn't coordinative with me today. She didn't like me correcting her mistakes."

"There's just another problem, Charles." Added Marcie. "This Patty doesn't like it when I call her Sir."

"Marcie," Charlie Brown began. "doesn't it occur to you that the Patty you're sitting with doesn't like to be called Sir, oh I don't know, because she's a girl? Sir is a word used to address a boy, which is probably the same reason Peppermint Patty doesn't like being called Sir. May I suggest calling her Ma'am?"

Sally came up to the couch, and noticed Marcie. Wanting Marcie to become her sister-in-law one day, she called out to her big brother…..

"Kiss her, you blockhead!"

"I appreciate your advice, Charles." Said Marcie. "I'll remember it for tomorrow."

Marcie kissed Charlie Brown, causing him to stick his tongue out for a second, and then blush.

"See you at school tomorrow, Charles." Said Marcie, and then she left the Brown residence.

The next day, all the kids returned to school.

"If Peppermint Patty gives me a hard time again like she did yesterday," thought Charlie Brown. "I'm going to have to share my seat with the Little Red-Haired Girl."

So as the kids entered the classroom, Marcie once again sat with Violet's friend Patty, and Charlie Brown sat with Peppermint Patty again.

"Oh great! It's the girl who always calls me Sir!" thought Patty angrily. "How I wish I could sit with Violet instead, but no. Due to Charlie Brown's stupid hound, Schroeder has to sit with her."

"Alright, Sir." Said Marcie. "Let the teacher call out the roll, and let's get on with our work."

"Okay, Marcie," said Patty. "but don't call me Sir!"

"Anything you say, Sir." Replied Marcie.

Patty rolled her eyes, not liking to be called the masculine title.

Peppermint Patty sat next to Charlie Brown once again.

"Okay, Chuck. Let's coordinate better than we did yesterday." Said Peppermint Patty. "If I know an answer and you don't, I'll whisper it to you. And if you know an answer and I don't, you whisper it to me."

"What if neither of us knows the answer?" asked Charlie Brown.

"We'll punt." Replied Peppermint Patty.

Miss Donovan asked a question.

"Yes, Ma'am?" asked Peppermint Patty.

The trivia question was asked.

"What happened in 1950?" exclaimed Peppermint Patty. "That depends. Is it a date, or an address?"

Charlie Brown rolled his eyes, knowing this wasn't going to end well.

At lunch time, Charlie Brown had lunch again, and who should sit next to him but Violet's friend Patty.

"Patty?" exclaimed Charlie Brown, surprised to see Violet's friend. "Er, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be skipping rope with Violet and Frieda?"

"Charlie Brown, I need your help." Said Patty.

"On what?" sighed Charlie Brown. "How to become a failure face like me?"

"No, this is serious." Replied Patty. "Do you know a girl by the name Marcie?"

"The girl with glasses?" asked Charlie Brown.

"Of course, Charlie Brown. She keeps calling me Sir!" grumbled Patty.

"I told Marcie to call her Ma'am!" Charlie Brown thought.

And then he spoke:

"I know that she calls her friend Peppermint Patty Sir."

"Another Patty, Charlie Brown?" laughed Patty. "Come on, Charlie Brown! There can only be one Patty, and that Patty is me!"

Charlie Brown rolled his eyes.

"Oh, good grief!"

When lunch time was over, Marcie continued to give Patty a hard time.

"I don't know?!" puzzled Marcie. "Why did you put down 'I don't know', Sir?"

"I don't know the answer to this question, Marcie." Grumbled Patty.

"You could at least try and guess the answer to the question, Sir." Suggested Marcie.

This was the last straw for Patty.

"And for the ninety-seventh time today, MY NAME IS NOT SIR!"

Patty's yell was just enough to send Marcie flying out of her chair. Every student except Peppermint Patty and Little Red-Haired Girl looked. Peppermint Patty was fast asleep and the Little Red-Haired Girl was too focused on her work.

Miss Donovan saw all this.

"Sorry, Ma'am." Said Patty. "My desk partner was annoying me."

Suddenly…..

"To the principal's office?!" exclaimed Patty. "Oh, good grief! Thanks a bundle, Marcie!"

"Didn't expect our Patty to get into trouble with the teacher." Thought Charlie Brown.

Later, Marcie and Patty went to the principal's office.

"Some fine mess you got me into, Marcie." Grumbled Patty.

Once school was over, Marcie went home.

"This Patty is even more aggressive than Peppermint Patty." Marcie said to herself.

Marcie went to her room, and started writing 100 times in cursive "I will not cause a disturbance." That was hers and Patty's punishment. Marcie couldn't complete her notes without "I will not call Patty Sir".

The next day of school arrived, and both Marcie and Patty handed the 200 notes to the principal.

The principal asked the two girls if they fulfilled their punishment.

"We sure did, Sir." Said Marcie.

The principal was pleased, and then, both Marcie and Patty apologised to each other.

"Sorry for lashing out at you yesterday, Marcie." Said Patty.

"Sorry for calling you Sir, Patty." Said Marcie.

"I have a suggestion for you, Marcie." Said Patty. "Let's not sit together today. I can go and sit with my friend Violet."

"Anything you say, Ma'am." Smiled Marcie.

"Ma'am? Now that's more like it." Patty smiled back.

At lunch time, as Charlie Brown and Marcie sat together, who should come sit with them but Linus van Pelt.

"Hello, Charlie Brown. Hello, Marcie." Said Linus. "Hear Marcie needs help about the Patty she's hanging out with."

"I appreciate the offer, Linus," said Marcie. "the Patty I'm coordinating with doesn't like being called Sir."

"This must be the work of the Wishbone Beagle." Said Linus.

"Wishbone Beagle?" Marcie exclaimed.

"This particular hound carries various wishbones around his neck, and gives them to all the children who would come to visit, and whoever breaks off more bone, their wish comes true." Said Linus.

"Oh, good grief!" sighed Charlie Brown. "First the Great Pumpkin, then the Easter Beagle, and now the Wishbone Beagle! Whatever next? Okay, Easter Beagle is real, but Wishbone Beagle?"

When the school day was finished, Marcie, thinking who the Wishbone Beagle could be, went over to the Brown residence again.

"Perhaps the Wishbone Beagle granted Peppermint Patty's wish to wear a dress rather than her normal clothes." Marcie thought.

Marcie reached the Brown residence, knocked on the door, and Charlie Brown answered.

"Hello, Charles. Is Snoopy home?" Marcie asked.

"As always. Snoopy!" Charlie Brown called.

Snoopy ran on his hind legs out of the backyard to the front. He was surprised to see that Marcie had come over.

"What do you want with Snoopy?" asked Charlie Brown.

"You told me that Peppermint Patty and the other Patty are two different girls, Charles." Said Marcie. "So I am asking Snoopy to grant me a wish."

"You don't believe what Linus said, do you, Marcie?" sighed Charlie Brown.

"He was right about the Easter Beagle," said Marcie. "so I'm sure he's right about the Wishbone Beagle."

"Oh, good grief!" Charlie Brown sighed again.

"Alright, Wishbone Beagle! Hear my wish." Said Marcie.

Snoopy was puzzled by what Marcie was saying.

"Snoopy! I need a wish!" demanded Marcie.

Snoopy raised both his left eyebrow and left ear in confusion.

"You gave Peppermint Patty a wish, so why can't I have one?" demanded Marcie.

Snoopy ran off back into his doghouse.

"Come back, Wishbone Beagle! You didn't grant my wish!" Marcie exclaimed.

"Good grief!" groaned Charlie Brown.

Sally came outside to see her brother.

"What's going on, Big Brother?" asked Sally.

"Marcie came over to meet the so-called Wishbone Beagle." Charlie Brown answered. "Linus claims this particular dog can grant any wish."

"Oh, my sweet babboo must have the wildest imagination yet." Smiled Sally.

Sally went into the backyard to see Marcie outside Snoopy's house.

"Now what are you doing, Marcie?" Sally asked.

"Come on out, Snoopy!" Marcie called. "You need to grant my wish!"

Snoopy did come out, wearing a blue turban, a purple vest, and a necklace with wishbones around it. Woodstock perched right on top.

"Linus was right!" exclaimed Sally. "There is a Wishbone Beagle!"

"Alright, Wishbone Beagle." Said Marcie. "Hear me out! Sally and I would like to make a wish."

Woodstock flew onto Snoopy's necklace, picked one wishbone off of Snoopy's necklace, and he put it in Marcie and Sally's hands.

"Are you ready, Sally?" asked Marcie happily.

"Ready when you are, Marcie." Said Sally.

"I wish for Peppermint Patty to turn back to normal." Thought Marcie.

"I wish Linus would marry me when we grow up." Thought Sally.

Marcie and Sally tugged at their own ends of the wishbone, and the final result…..

"Yay! I got more bone!" cheered Sally. "Wanna know what I wished for?"

"Don't say it, Sally, or it won't come true." Marcie said.

"You're right. Better luck next time, Marcie." Said Sally, and she went back inside to sit on the beanbag to watch television.

"I guess I'll have to stay here until someone else comes over." Marcie decided.

Soon, who should come over but Linus' cancer-surviving friend Janice. She knocked on the door of the Brown residence. Charlie Brown opened the door.

"Hello, Charlie Brown. Is Sally home?" asked Janice.

"She's inside, Janice." Said Charlie Brown.

"Thanks, Charlie Brown. Appreciate your offer."

Janice went into the living room and saw Sally in the beanbag.

"Sally?" said Janice.

Sally turned her head to see….

"Oh! Hey, Janice!" said Sally. "What are you doing here?"

"I heard from your sweet babboo that there's a Wishbone Beagle about." Janice explained.

"You've come to the right place, Janice. I tried my luck and got more bone. The Wishbone Beagle is in the backyard." Sally explained.

Janice went out to the backyard and the only one outside Snoopy's doghouse besides Beagle was Marcie.

"Is this the Wishbone Beagle?" asked Janice.

Snoopy nodded, and Woodstock flew down and gave Janice a wishbone.

"Have you already had a go, Marcie?" asked Janice.

"I already have had a go, Janice," answered Marcie. "but Charles' sister got more than me."

"That's okay, Marcie." Smiled Janice. "You can try this time with me."

"Very well, Janice." Said Marcie.

Snoopy gave a wishbone to Janice, and she and Marcie held onto each end.

"I wish for Peppermint Patty to go back the way she was." Thought Marcie.

"I wish to never get cancer of any kind again." Thought Janice.

Janice and Marcie pulled on the wishbone and…..

"Yay! I got more bone!" cheered Janice.

"Rats. Lost again." Sighed Marcie.

"Oh, I can't wait to tell Linus about his story, and how it turned out to be real!" smiled Janice.

The next day at school, during recess, Janice sat on the bench with Linus and told him all about what she'd experienced the day before.

"You'll never believe what I saw yesterday, Linus." Janice told Linus.

"Was it the Great Pumpkin?" asked Linus.

"No, Linus! It's not even Halloween." Giggled Janice. "I saw the Wishbone Beagle!"

"The Wishbone Beagle?" exclaimed Linus.

"I overheard you tell Charlie Brown and Marcie yesterday." Explained Janice. "I thought I'd come over, and explain all about it. Sally told me he was in her backyard, and I got more bone than Marcie."

"So what did you wish for, Janice?" asked Linus.

"I can't say it, or it won't come true." Explained Janice.

"Well then, I'll have to go over to Charlie Brown's house later and see for myself." Linus decided.

That afternoon, Linus went over to the Brown house, and much to his surprise, Marcie was there already.

"Marcie? What are you doing here?" exclaimed Linus.

"I'm here, waiting for the Wishbone Beagle to give me another Wishbone." Said Marcie.

Snoopy came out once again, much to Linus' surprise.

"The Wishbone Beagle is real!" Linus exclaimed.

Woodstock picked up a wishbone off Snoopy's necklace, and he gave it to Marcie and Linus.

"I wish Peppermint Patty would change back to normal." Thought Marcie.

"I wish Snoopy would never take my blanket again." Thought Linus.

Marcie and Linus tugged their wishbone with the final result being…

"Yes! Yes! I did it! I got more bone!" cheered Marcie.

"Good grief! Just my luck!" groaned Linus.

"Don't fret, Linus." Smiled Marcie. "You can still have another go. Just wait until someone else comes."

Marcie went into the Brown house where Charlie Brown was sitting in the beanbag.

"Charles, you'll never believe what happened." Smiled Marcie.

"You managed to get more bone?" asked Charlie Brown.

"I sure did, Charles." Said Marcie. "So now, I can check on Peppermint Patty to see…."

Charlie Brown heard a bang on the door.

"Now who could that be?" sighed Charlie Brown.

Charlie Brown got off the beanbag and answered the door.

"Oh. Hello, Peppermint Patty." Said Charlie Brown, opening the door.

"Peppermint Patty?!" exclaimed Marcie.

"Hiya, Chuck!" cried Peppermint Patty.

"Is this about our next baseball game?" asked Charlie Brown.

"No, Chuck." Smiled Peppermint Patty. "It's about this Wishbone Beagle I've been hearing so much about."

Peppermint Patty came inside to see….

"Marcie?"

"Hello, Ma'am." Marcie said.

"Ma'am?!" Peppermint Patty was most confused. "Alright! What's going on here?"

"Marcie's desk partner's name is Patty," explained Charlie Brown. "and she kept calling that Patty Sir, so I suggested she call her Ma'am. And she believes you changed into that Patty by the Wishbone Beagle."

"Come on, Chuck!" chuckled Peppermint Patty. "There can only be one Patty, and that Patty is me!"

"Good grief!" sighed Charlie Brown. And then, he turned to Marcie. "Anyway, Marcie. Why do you call Peppermint Patty Sir even when she tells you not to?"

"Some think it's because I can't see very well without my glasses," Marcie began. "and some think it's because Peppermint Patty always plays sports. But the reason I always call my friend Sir is….."

"Yes?" demanded Peppermint Patty.

"I thought Peppermint Patty was a guy, since I thought Patty was short for Patrick." Marcie finished.

"Well, Marcie." Said Peppermint Patty. "Patty is actually short for Patricia."

"Oh. You're right, Peppermint Patty." Sighed Marcie. "I guess I was wrong to call you Sir."

"Great to hear, Marcie!" smiled Peppermint Patty. "Now come on. Let's go to the Wishbone Beagle."

Charlie Brown, Peppermint Patty, and Marcie went out back, and much to their surprise, there was a line for many kids in the neighbourhood. Linus must've told all of them about the Wishbone Beagle. Lucy was having a go with Patty's friend Violet. Charlie Brown, Peppermint Patty, and Marcie tried to go ahead, but Lucy stopped them.

"Back of the line, you blockheads!" Lucy demanded.

Charlie Brown, Peppermint Patty, and Marcie went to the very back of the line, only to spot Violet's friend Patty, waiting to have a go.

"Patty?!" Charlie Brown exclaimed.

"Patty?!" Peppermint Patty added.

"Patty?!" The other Patty exclaimed too.

"I'm Patty!" demanded Peppermint Patty.

"I'm Patty!" called the other Patty.

"Alright! What's going on here, Ma'am?" demanded Marcie.

"My name is Patty!" said Patty.

"My name is Patty! Peppermint Patty to be exact!"

"Patty and Patty?!" exclaimed Charlie Brown in surprise.

"Now hold on just a minute, Charles!" called Marcie. "There can't be two Pattys!"

"Yes there can!" The two Pattys replied.

Meanwhile, both Violet and Lucy got back to their game.

"I wish Schroeder would notice me." thought Lucy with a gleeful smile.

"I wish Charlie Brown would never succeed at anything again." Violet thought with an evil smile on her face.

Lucy and Violet pulled on the bone and….

"Yes! I got more bone!" cheered Lucy.

"Good grief!" groaned Violet.

"Thank you, Wishbone Beagle!" cheered Lucy and she simply kissed Snoopy. Lucy soon made a sudden realisation.

"UGH! I've just kissed a dog!" exclaimed Lucy in disgust. "Yuck! My mouth is full of dog germs!"

Lucy ran home with dog germs in her mouth.

"Get some mouth wash! Get some toothpaste! Get some antivenom!"

Snoopy, after realising who'd kissed him, just laughed.

The line continued, and it was Schroeder challenging Frieda to snap more wishbone.

"I wish no more girls would come near me or my piano." Schroeder thought.

"I wish my naturally curly hair stays naturally curly for the rest of my life." Thought Frieda gleefully.

Schroeder and Frieda tugged and tugged and…..

"Yay! I got more bone!" Frieda cheered. "My naturally curly hair helped me win."

"Oh, good grief!" groaned Schroeder. And then he thought;

"Now Lucy and Frieda will never stop bugging me!"

"Better luck next time, Schroeder!" teased Frieda.

Eventually, the line was at its end. Marcie already had her many goes, so she decided to let the two Pattys try. Unfortunately for Charlie Brown, there was only one wishbone left.

"Alright, Patty! This one is for the ages!" Said Peppermint Patty with determination.

"You're on, Patty!" replied the other Patty.

"You can do it, Peppermint Patty!" called Marcie.

"That's weird." Thought Charlie Brown. "Marcie calling her friend by her name instead of Sir."

"Thanks, Marcie! I needed that!" Peppermint Patty replied. And then she thought….

"I wish for our school to be finished by this coming Monday."

"I wish I could sit with Violet at school until the end of the school year." Thought the other Patty.

Both Peppermint Patty and Original Patty tugged at the wishbone. But this was even harder.

"Come on, Peppermint Patty! You can do it! I believe in you, Peppermint Patty!" called Marcie.

The wishbone was bending, and the Patty to get more bone was…. Peppermint Patty!

"I did it! I got more bone! I win!" cheered Peppermint Patty.

"So what did you wish for, Patty?" asked the other Patty.

"Not telling you, Patty." Smiled Peppermint Patty.

"Just my luck." Sighed Charlie Brown. "Snoopy used up all his wishbones. Now I'll never get my wish."

"Don't feel bad, Charles." Comforted Marcie. There might be a next time…. One day."

The next day, at school, Peppermint Patty, Marcie, and Charlie Brown walked into class. Much to Marcie's surprise, the other Patty was sharing her desk with Violet.

"Hey, Marcie! Look at that!" called Peppermint Patty.

Marcie saw who was sitting with the other Patty.

"That means I can sit with you, Peppermint Patty." Smiled Marcie.

"Great idea, Marcie!" smiled Peppermint Patty.

Then she turned to Charlie Brown.

"Sorry, Chuck. You'll have to get a different desk partner. No hard feelings, Chuck old boy?"

"No hard feelings." Said Charlie Brown. "And great work winning the wishbone challenge."

"Put 'er there!" said Peppermint Patty, holding her hand out.

Charlie Brown grabbed Peppermint Patty's hand, and they both shook, much to Peppermint Patty's excitement…..

"You're holding my hand, Chuck. You're such a sly dog!" Peppermint Patty swooned.

All the kids took their seats, except for one. But Miss Donovan had something to announce.

"Yes, Miss Donovan!" everyone called.

"Are you telling us…..?" Franklin asked.

"Our school is fully refurbished and we can go back on Monday?" Peppermint Patty exclaimed.

Marcie, Franklin, Peppermint Patty, and their fellow students cheered.

Charlie Brown noticed he didn't have a desk partner, so he decided to sit on his own.

"Now I'm all alone." Thought Charlie Brown. But he'd thought too soon.

The person to come sit next to him was…

"Is that….." Charlie Brown started.

A familiar girl with her red hair in a flip-style, and wearing an aquamarine bow in her hair, a turquoise dress, matching turquoise socks, and white Mary Janes. None other than the girl of Charlie Brown's dreams.

"Heather?" exclaimed Charlie Brown. Then he thought with excitement;

"The Little Red-Haired Girl is sitting next to me!"

"Hello, Charlie Brown." Smiled Heather. "I see that your friend Peppermint Patty is sitting with her friend Marcie, so I'll be your desk partner. Let's talk during lunch."

As Heather took her seat, Charlie Brown sighed dreamily. The girl of his dreams was his desk partner.

So when it was recess time, Marcie sat on the bench with Peppermint Patty.

"Looking forward to going back to our own school on Monday, Marcie?" Peppermint Patty asked.

"I sure am, Peppermint Patty." Said Marcie.

"That was the wish I made on the wishbone, Marcie." Peppermint Patty explained. "I wished our school would be completely refurbished by Monday. Shows wishes can come true."

"I'm proud of you, Peppermint Patty." Marcie smiled.

Then, Peppermint Patty gently elbowed Marcie.

"That's Sir Peppermint Patty to you, Marcie!" she said happily. "For believing in me, and encouraging me to win, you can call me Sir all you want!"

"Really?" exclaimed Marcie. "That's wonderful, Sir! Thanks, Sir!"

"However, I am going to miss being Chuck's desk partner." Sighed Peppermint Patty.

"You might get that chance again one day, Sir." Marcie said.

When it was lunch time, Charlie Brown was sitting on his lonesome. While he was pleased that the girl of his dreams was his desk partner, he was still disappointed that he didn't get a wishbone to snap apart. Just then, who should sit next to him but…..

"Heather?" Charlie Brown exclaimed.

"Hi, Charlie Brown." Heather said with a smile on her face.

"She's having lunch with me!" Charlie Brown thought.

And then he spoke;

"Oh, you don't wanna sit with a failure face like me. I didn't even get one wishbone to break yesterday."

"I did." Heather replied.

"You did?" exclaimed Charlie Brown.

"Yes I did, Charlie Brown." Heather replied. "I won the game against your friend Linus. Do you wanna hear what I wished for?"

"What?" demanded Charlie Brown.

"I wished to be your desk partner for the rest of the school year." Heather answered. "And I also wished to not go to Summer Camp this year, so that means I get to spend this coming summer in the neighbourhood. That means you'll have me around this summer."

Charlie Brown, hearing this, blushed as red as Heather's hair.

"That's exactly what I wanted to wish for!" Charlie Brown exclaimed. He didn't need to make his wish after all.

"Really?" exclaimed Heather. "Oh we're so much alike, Charlie Brown! We do more than just nibble on our pencils, but we also think alike in other ways possible!"

Heather, delighted to hear that Charlie Brown wanted to wish for what she wished for, kissed Charlie Brown's right cheek, causing him to blush even redder than her's hair.

"How do you like that, Charlie Brown?" Heather asked gleefully.

"It was fantastic!" Charlie Brown sighed dreamily. "I loved it! And with a dog like Snoopy, I don't need a normal dog."

And that, Charlie Brown, is why Snoopy can't be normal.
