Photography
The idea was to have only those needed for the exhibition, but the years had turned the photographs of the Forger residence into a series of family vignettes. These decorated the wall near the front door, accompanied by others chosen, taken or loaned by Eden. The choice had been a meticulous job in the first place, because in no case were they to show their null authenticity. Thus, each photograph was taken on different dates and in different places.
But one day in the park, the family was invited to reenact one of their first Bond rides.
And the big white dog's snout with its owners behind it was portrayed on the living room furniture.
The photograph had captured that precise moment. It had also done so during Anya's second and third Stella, because they were academic feats in Classical Language and in a Poetry contest. It also did so during the family's third year winter break, when Loid and Yor showed no uncomfortable faces at physical contact.
Their picture together making a big snowman had three extra copies.
And there were other big moments or events too big to take in all at once. So, during a rainy afternoon in Anya's fourth year at Eden, they took the opportunity to sort the pictures properly. The tea table and the head table were littered with photos and pencils, which they jotted down and added descriptions.
"Why do you write it, Dad?"
"Huh?"
""Anya and Bond in the snow in the park"" the girl repeated, reading the back of a photograph. "Anya knows that she was in the snow with Bond that day".
"We know," said Loid with a smile. "Why do I write?" wondered the man and put a hand to his chin "Because sometimes you have to" and he looked at Yor who was coming in with the tea cups "Come on, let's get on with our work".
«Photographs are a visual resource for capturing a precise moment, but it is also of utmost importance to leave a written record of the scene» Twilight thought to herself as he sipped her coffee «An image without a proper context can be used for dangerous activities and have its true purpose forgotten».
"Is it important to write?"
"What are you talking about?" Yor asked with a curious look.
"From the writing" Anya explained, still looking at her father. Loid raised an eyebrow, "Do we write down what happens in the photographs so we don't forget? I'd hate to forget when I was in the snow with Bond".
Twilight was surprised when she heard that, which, in a way, yes, she was right. But it also said a lot on her daughter's face when she mentioned it, it was almost as if she was truly afraid of forgetting.
She was afraid of forgetting her family.
«A family for a mission» he remembered and looked at her daughter as she was about to utter her name until she put the cup down abruptly.
"Anya?" Loid said and tilted his head towards her and frowned. He half-remembered that expression from the interview to enter Eden, half-remembered it from when he woke up after his second Tonitrus.
"Daughter, what's wrong?" exclaimed Yor, sounding as concerned as Loid also felt about the silence.
Even Bond, who had kept his tail up the whole time, looked down and approached the girl. He tucked his muzzle into the space left by Anya's arm.
And that's when she winced before bursting into tears.
"Anya!" Yor immediately stood up and ran after her to hug her. Even at almost reaching the age of ten, the girl felt small next to her mother; to whom she was held with a firm grip that Twilight was sure could leave bruises.
But that observation didn't dispel the feeling of guilt that was beginning to build up in her system, and she lowered her gaze wordlessly. He couldn't help but imagine the two of them when someday those photographs, WISE permitting, would be the only proof of the Forger family's existence.
So he ducked his head, hoping for the best and hating himself.
Ok, i wrote this in a desperate need and well, i translated it, English is not my native language, so i apologize for any mistakes.
