Chapter 12: Return To Angel Island
Over the Gallopolis Desert, Shadow watches the Gallopolis Ruins getting covered in Subspace, as he carries another bomb. He remembers dropping the other bombs and felt guilty.
Shadow: Another place covered in Subspace. But it has to be done.
He was about to fly away, when suddenly...
?: THUNDAGA!
He saw a lightning appear and dodges it. He saw Sora down there.
Sora: That's four times you did that, Shadow!
Sonic, Cloud, Megaman, and Bomberman then joins him.
Shadow: I don't have time to play with you lot!
He flew away quickly.
Sonic: No more will he use another bomb! After him!
The gang starts chasing Shadow across the desert. Along the way, they got ambushed by some Air Soldiers and Pot Scorpions. There are also some trackballs nearby. The gang hits the trackballs to take out the Heartless. They then proceed to the next area, fighting some Earth Cores, Crescendos, and Popcats along the way. Sonic uses Fire Somersault on the Earth Cores, Megaman uses Ring Boomerangs to fire ring-like boomerangs at the Crescendos, while Bomberman threw his Thunder Bombs at the Popcats. After taking out the Heartless, the gang hits another trackball to break the stone floor open and proceed to a cave with a floating platform. When they got on the platform, they got ambushed by more Air Soldiers and Wyverns.
Cloud: Look out! We have more Heartless here! Let's take them out!
Sora uses Strike Raid on the Air Soldiers, while Cloud uses Beam Blades on the Wyverns. They took out the Heartless and proceed to the elevators. They used the elevators to get out of the cave, where they encountered some Air Pirates, Large Bodies, and Pot Scorpions. Sonic uses Homing Attack on the Air Pirates, Megaman uses Napalm Bombs to fire football-shaped bombs at the Large Bodies, while Bomberman threw his Napalm Bombs at the Pot Scorpions. They took out the Heartless and proceed to the next area. They came across a cliff with a lone platform.
Megaman: I wonder why that platform is here for.
Bomberman: Let's get on it and find out.
The gang jumps on the platform and it starts moving. It takes them to the next area, where there are Shadow Heartless, Clay Armors, and Bookmasters. Cloud uses Braver on the Shadow Heartless and Bookmasters, while Sora uses Zantetsuken to do a powerful slash on the Clay Armors. They took out the Heartless and proceed to a tunnel with the spike ceilings falling on them. They avoided the spike ceilings and got out of the tunnel, where they got ambushed by more Shadow Heartless, Luna Bandits, Bouncywilds, and a Defender. Megaman uses Tornado Hold to fire a fan that creates a tornado to blow away the Heartless, while Sonic uses Sonic Wind to take out the Defender. The gang proceeds to the next area, where there is a lone platform over a cliff.
Sonic: Another platform that probably moves if we jump on it.
Sora: Let's get on it and find out.
The gang jumps on the platform and it starts moving. It then came across another platform in the middle of the canyon. The gang jumps on that platform and it starts moving alot faster. It takes them to a cave with the walls closing in on them. They jumped out of the platform before the walls could crush them. They went on a higher platform, where they got attacked by Clay Armors and Darkballs. The Darkballs are coming out of the Dark Portal. Megaman uses Knight Crusher to fire flails at the Clay Armors, while Bomberman threw his Wind Bombs at the Darkballs. After the Heartless were taken out, Sonic uses Spin Dash on the Dark Portal, destroying it. The gang climbs up the ladder and breaks the blocks on the ceiling to get out of the cave, where they got attacked by some Surveillance Robots and Magnum Loaders.
Cloud: We're not finished yet! Just hold on for a little longer!
Cloud uses Climhazzard on the Surveillance Robots and Magnum Loaders, taking them out. The gang finally caught up to Shadow. He fires his Chaos Spears at Sonic and Cloud, but they dodged his attacks, as they kept running. Then some Armor Soldiers appeared to stop them.
Sonic: Get outta our way!
Shadow: Quick! Drop the bomb before they could stop it!
There was an Armor Soldier hanging onto the bomb and it was dropped. Two more Armor Soldiers nodded at each other and activated the bomb.
Sora: NO STOP!
Sora tried to stop one Armor Soldier by pulling it, as Sonic tried punching the other, but they were dragged away by the Armor Soldiers.
Armor Soldier: We are sorry, but this is for the world's good.
Cloud: What does that mean?
Cloud frees Sonic and Sora from their grasps. The Armor Soldiers waved farewell to Shadow, who nods sadly.
Shadow: Forgive me, but I must go.
He flew away. The bomb explodes into Subspace. Klonoa, Hero 8, Simon, Zero, and Lloyd watches from the other side.
Klonoa: Oh no! Not again!
Zero: How much more must we take of this?
The Armor Soldiers were destroyed by the Subspace, as it engulfs the entire Gallopolis Desert. Luckily for Sonic, Cloud, Megaman, Sora, and Bomberman, they got away. They were all riding on a red blocky ship called the Gummi Ship. Megaman saw Zero in the distance, as he and the others walked away.
Megaman: Guys, call me crazy, but I saw Zero over there.
Bomberman: You saw Zero?
The gang turns to see Zero's gang in the distance.
Cloud: It is him!
Sonic: That means Simon and Hero 8 must not be too far.
They also saw Klonoa and Lloyd with them.
Sora: Are they Klonoa and Lloyd?
Cloud: It looks like. They are Pac-Man's friends.
Sonic: Well, let's see what they're up to.
Megaman: Then let's go!
And they followed after Zero and the others. Meanwhile, back at Angel Island, Tails and Master Chief got away from Eggman and began to walk down the path to find Knuckles. Suddenly, they encountered Eggman's Robots like some Motobugs, Egg Pawns, and Flappers.
Tails: Look! More of Eggman's Robots!
Master Chief: Then we have to take them out!
Tails uses Tails Swipe on the Motobugs, while Master Chief fires his MA5C Assault Rifle at the Egg Pawns and Flappers. They took out the robots and proceed to the next area. They climbed up a ladder and jumped over a big leaf and jumped over to the next area, where they encountered some more Motobugs, Egg Pawns, and Egg Robos. Tails uses his Chu Bombs to attack the Motobugs and Egg Pawns, while Master Chief fires his M90 Shotgun at the Egg Robos. They took out the robots and jump over some swinging platforms, where they got attacked by some Air Pirates.
Tails: Now we're being attacked by Heartless!
Master Chief fires his duo M7 Submachine Guns at the Air Pirates, taking them out. He and Tails proceeds to the next area, where they got attacked by some Buzzbombers. Tails fires his Plasma Balls at the Buzzbombers, taking them out. They jumped on a moving platform under a downward gust of wind and it takes them to the other side, where there are a series of ladders.
Tails: Why are there ladders all over this place?
Master Chief: We'll just have to jump from one ladder to another.
They jumped through a series of ladders, encountering some Flappers, Buzzbombers, and White Mushrooms along the way. Tails uses Tails Swipe on the Flappers and Buzzbombers, while Master Chief fires his S2 AM Sniper Rifle at the White Mushrooms. They took out the enemies and keep jumping through a series of ladders until they reached a moving platform under a downward gust of wind. The platform takes them to the other side, where they got ambushed by more Egg Robos, Buzzbombers, Air Pirates, and Grand Ghosts.
Tails: Look out! We have more robots and Heartless!
Master Chief: Then let's take them all out!
Tails uses Rapid Tails Attack on the Egg Robos and Buzzbombers, while Master Chief uses his Plasma Sword on the Air Pirates and Grand Ghosts. They took out the enemies and proceed to jump on the platform moving up and down. It takes them to a moving ladder, which they jumped on. They waited for the ladder to move past the spikes, so they can climb up. The ladder then moves them to another ladder, which they jumped on. The Buzzbombers tried to attack them, but Master Chief fires his M7 Submachine Gun to take them out.
Tails: That was close. Thanks, Master Chief.
When they reached the end of the ladder, they found some blocks with a Bomb Block. Tails fires his Plasma Ball to destroy the Bomb Block and it destroys all the other blocks. When they got out of the ladder and were about to get out of the ruins, they got attacked by more Buzzbombers. Master Chief fires his MA5C Assault Rifle to take them out. He and Tails then made it to the Aquatic Ruins Zone. They were walking along the path.
Tails: I'm sure Knuckles went...
But then an arrow hits Tails and turns him into a trophy.
Master Chief: Oh no! Not again!
He turns to see Eggman laughing.
Eggman: That was too easy! You're next, Spartan!
He fires his cannon again, but Master Chief dodges easily.
Eggman: Darn, I missed!
He then saw the trophy of Tails.
Eggman: I know what to do. Shadow Bugs!
The Shadow Bugs came and cover the trophy. They then form into a purple cloud in the air. Eggman laughs, as Master Chief gasps.
Master Chief: What's going on here?
Then they formed into a Dark Tails and landed beside Master Chief. Dark Tails is holding the Chaos Emerald.
Master Chief: This is not good! Now the fake Tails has the Chaos Emerald!
Eggman was ready to fire the cannon again until blue lasers appeared from nowhere.
Eggman: WHAT?
He saw a white starfighter called the Vic Viper flying towards him. When it flew above him, someone leaps out and lands before him. The man looks like Arnold Schwarzenegger wearing a red bandana, metal pauldrons, metal gauntlets, blue pants, metal boots, and carrying a rifle. He is Bill Rizer, the hero from Contra.
Master Chief: Bill, took you long enough!
Bill: Sorry, Master Chief. But I was trying to find you. Let me deal with this clown.
Eggman: Who are you calling clown?
Before he could fire, Bill kicks the cannon out of his hand. Bill then fires his Machine Gun to destroy the cannon.
Bill: No more will you turn people into trophies, Eggman!
Eggman: Why you...You haven't seen the last of me!
He flew away with his Egg Walker. Bill turns to face the Dark Tails. There were more Shadow Bugs entering him and he grew into a giant.
Bill: Whoa! To think he would be a giant fox.
Master Chief revives Tails. When Tails saw the giant evil version of himself, he gasps.
Tails: Did I miss something?
Master Chief: Yeah. Help us defeat this monster!
Tails summons his Tornado II and it transforms into it's Walker Mode. Dark Tails uses his Chaos Emerald to increase his powers. He uses Tails Swipe on Master Chief, doing alot of damage to him. Master Chief fires his M41 Rocket Launcher at Dark Tails, doing alot of damage to him. Dark Tails uses his Chu Bomb to attack Bill, doing alot of damage to him. Bill uses his Grenade Gun to fire grenades at Dark Tails, doing alot more damage to him. Dark Tails fires his Plasma Ball at Tails, doing alot of damage to him. Tails fires his Power Laser at Dark Tails, doing alot more damage to him, knocking him out. The trophy of Dark Tails disappears and drops the Chaos Emerald. Tails got off his Tornado II and it flew away.
Tails: We did it!
Master Chief: Good job, team!
Tails picks up his Chaos Emerald and turns to see Bill walk away. He pulls him back.
Bill: Hey! What gives?
Tails: Please help me save Knuckles!
Master Chief: And I don't think walking off is a good idea.
Bill: And why not?
He begins to walk away again, only to be grabbed by Tails again and being dragged off with Master Chief walking behind,
Master Chief: Because he'll drag you behind anyway. Believe me. I've been there.
Bill: Great! Now you tell me!
Bill finally agrees to join Tails and Master Chief. They went on a minecart and it takes them to the Aquatic Ruins Zone. They went off the minecart and rode on some speeders, which takes them to a big platform, where they got ambushed by some Egg Robos.
Tails: More Eggman's Robots here! Let's take them out!
Bill uses his Flamethrower to shoot fire at the Egg Robos, burning them. The gang jumps into a Barrel Cannon and it fires them into a series of Barrel Cannons. They fired themselves into a Bomb Block, destroying all the other blocks, and proceed to the next area. They jumped onto a series of springs, while fighting off some Flappers and Buzzbombers. Tails fires his Plasma Balls at the Flappers, while Master Chief fires his duo M7 Submachine Guns at the Buzzbombers. They took out the robots and jump over some spikes to reach the next area. They broke some blocks and encountered some Air Soldiers, Crescendos, and Soldier Heartless.
Master Chief: Now we have some Heartless here!
Bill uses his Homing Gun to fire homing missiles at the Air Soldiers, while Tails uses Tails Swipe on the Crescendos and Soldier Heartless. They took out the Heartless and proceed to the next area, where they came across a lone floating platform.
Tails: I wonder what that platform is for.
Bill: Let's jump on it and find out.
The gang jumps on the platform and it starts moving. Suddenly, they got attacked by Buzzbombers and thorns rising from the water, but the gang easily dodges those thorns. Master Chief fires his S2 AM Sniper Rifle at the Buzzbombers, taking them out. The platform takes them to a bigger platform, where they got ambushed by more Motobugs, Flappers, and Buzzbombers. Tails uses his Rapid Tails Attack on the Motobugs and Flappers, while Bill uses his Spread Gun to fire spread shots at the Flappers and Buzzbombers. They took out the robots and proceed to a bridge, where there are some Motobugs and thorns rising out of the water, trying to destroy the bridge.
Master Chief: Watch out for the thorns! They are destroying the bridge!
The gang dodges the thorns and takes care of the Motobugs. Tails uses his Chu Bombs to take them out. The gang made it out of the bridge and jumps on the platform, which takes them to a cliff with a Gold Kameron. Master Chief threw his Plasma Grenade at the Gold Kameron to make it explode, taking it out. The gang came across a flying platform with the Knuckles trophy chained on it.
Tails: KNUCKLES!
Tails ran across the water after him, as Master Chief and Bill ran after them. The platform then took off to a strange floating island called Sigma Island.
Tails: OH NO!
Bill: What now?
Master Chief: We can always get a lift.
Tails and Bill then saw a gray frigate called a UNSC Frigate coming from above the ocean.
Bill: You always think of things ahead. Don't you, Master Chief.
The UNSC Frigate flew towards the gang and they went on it. It starts taking them off towards Sigma Island.
That's it for chapter 12. The Vic Viper is from another Konami franchise, Gradius. That's why I used it for Bill's starfighter. Next time, we'll return to X and Spyro, as they will try to reclaim X's Ultimate Armor.
