Chapter Three: Water.
After Sonoko woke up she checked the time and she realized she forgot to set her alarm. Seeing as she won't make it to class on time and how half the day has gone by already, she decides to just stay home and call in sick today.
After getting ready for a while, Sonoko manages to remember the weird dreams she has been having. She thinks that she should talk to assassin and sort out what dreams she's been having and what part of his past she has been seeing.
When Sonoko arrives in the living room she sees food on the table with a note. The note on the table said 'I will most likely be out of the house scouting the area for more servants. There is already food on the table for you. - Assassin'
Sonoko was already getting annoyed at her servant and she hasn't even been up for that long.
"Seems like I have to wait for him to come back so I can talk to him." Sonoko started eating when the window opened and assassin came inside the room.
Sonoko got up thinking it was another servant until she looked and realized it was just assassin.
"What were you doing outside the house, what would you have done if you got attacked or if I got attacked."
Assassin just stared at her with those eyes devoid of emotion. "I had faith that you would call me if something were to happen and I'm pretty sure I can distract and run away from most servants."
Sonoko was surprised when he said he had faith in her and she ended up blushing out of embarrassment.
"Anyways now that you're back I need to talk to you about something weird that's been happening."
"What weird thing has been happening to you master."
"I have been having dreams of your past due to the fact that master's can sometimes see parts of their servants' lives."
Assassin widened his eyes in shock, he totally forgot that was a thing.
"I see, what do you want me to do about the dreams? I'm pretty sure I can't disable them or something."
"I want you to explain the dreams I have been having."
"Well you have been having these dreams due to the dream cycle."
Sonoko was starting to get angry. "You know that's not what I mean. I am asking why you are killing people and who those people are."
"As you know, master, I am an assassin. In my life if you told me to kill someone and paid me enough they would be as good as dead. That is what happened to those people you are seeing. They were most likely people who I was paid to kill."
"I see, there's something else bothering me though. In the dreams when fighting you seemed to prefer a straightforward method of killing them directly and not by poison or something. Aren't assassins supposed to be more discreet. As of right now you seem more like a samurai and saber more than an assassin."
"While most assassins do things in a more discreet manner it didn't matter how I killed my targets as long as they died in the end."
Sonoko looked like she calmed down after hearing what he said. From hearing that she was able to figure out he didn't just kill people for no reason.
"I see, now that the problem is resolved, did you find anything that could be related to a servant during your time outside."
"I saw some marks of magecraft in a house around here but that's about it."
Sonoko didn't look as shocked as he expected, instead she looked quite amused.
"I assume it was the big japanese style area with the name Emiya on the front door."
Assassin realized that she most likely knew about the house already.
"Yes, that was the house that the traces were found in."
"That was expected, His bounded field isn't that good. What do you plan on doing for the rest of the day assassin."
"I have nothing planned for the day."
"Okay, do you think you could watch Emiya from a distance? If he has a servant, come back and tell me as fast as possible."
"I shall get going then." Assassin said as he turned into blue particles.
Sonoko is now going to her workshop to try and read things about some magecraft. Her specialty is ice magecraft and she wants to try controlling water and wind separately.
After a couple of attempts Sonoko finally manages to create something out of water. The more she tries controlling it the more unstable it gets. Sonoko is having more trouble with wind though. She is currently struggling to make anything out of wind.
She decides to just focus on water first. She tries to puncture a hole in the wall by focusing and willing the water to puncture a hole in the wall. All she gets is water on the wall. She then tries to make the water sharper but it just falls apart when she tries to move it. After a couple of hours of practicing she just gives up for the day.
When she steps out of her workshop she calls her assassin back to the house. After around a minute a so the assassin appears in front of her.
"Did you need help with anything master, I may or may not be able to help you."
"I wasn't asking for help but if you're offering, I want you to try and help me puncture a hole in a wall with water."
"I am not a magus but I can try. Okay show me what you're doing and explain your thinking process."
Sonoko proceeds to gather water from the air around her and she tries to launch it at the wall.
"I don't really think when I do it, I just kind of will the water to come and then I try to shape it into something sharp. After that if I want the thing to move it just breaks down."
"Try dividing that into a short amount of steps. You can try to take the air and make water, then you can try to sharpen the water and while keeping the shape of the liquid think of the water as 2 smaller drops of water then launch it at the same time."
Sonoko tries what he says and while it goes farther it still collapses in the end. She gets frustrated and screams "I'm going to bed".
As she walks away the assassin is just confused on how volatile and weird his master is.
TIME SKIP BROUGHT TO YOU BY SONOKO BEING HAPPY THAT ITS FRIDAY
After getting up in the morning Sonoko immediately goes back into her workshop to see if what she thought was right. Yesterday night, Sonoko was thinking about how to launch water at people. She realized she was thinking the water was like ice even though they have different properties. She figured out a 4 step plan to launch the water at people. The 4 steps were.
ONE. Gather water from the air
TWO. Shape into something sharp
THREE. Imagine it as multiple little droplets
FOUR. Propel the drops at the same time towards the target
After trying that she noticed the water ended up just splitting apart and breaking leaving it to fall on the ground. After thinking some more she realized she should be more specific and add more steps. After a while she ended up creating an 8 step plan. The plan was as follows.
ONE. Spread your prana out into the air around you
TWO. Condense your prana and using the air make water
THREE. Picture the water as something sharp
FOUR. Identify your target/s
FIVE. Imagine the water is multiple little water droplets
SIX. Coat the whole ball of water in a small amount of prana
SEVEN. Identify the speed you want to launch them at
EIGHT. Imagine propelling all the water droplets at the same time towards the enemy
Sonoko was very proud of this plan and she decided to try later if it didn't work. She started the process of launching water at things.
She closed her eyes and started the steps.
'Spread your prana out into the air around you'
There was now a faint glow in the air.
'Condense the prana and use the air to make water'
The glow gathered together and a ball of clear water was formed
'Picture the water as something sharp'
The clear water then turned into something more like an arrowhead
'Identify your target/s'
She opened her eyes and looked at the bullseye on the wall
'Imagine the water is multiple little droplets'
Sonoko imagined the water as many small droplets
'Coat the whole ball of water in a small amount of prana'
The clear water drop started to glow
'Identify the speed you want to launch the water at'
She thinks of the speed of an arrow
'Propel all the water droplets simultaneously towards the target'
She launches it and the water flies
The water flies right into the bullseye on the wall puncturing it and putting a hole in the wall before it reverts back to water and drips down.
Sonoko was so excited she finally managed to do it. She can now attack people with water. She was jumping up and down like a little kid right now. At this time assassin ended up entering her workshop.
Assassin looked fairly amused and surprised "I see you managed to poke a hole in the wall."
"I know, I did it. Isn't it cool? All it took was dividing it into 8 steps."
Assassin looked quite amused now. "How long did it take you to do it? I'm pretty sure you need to practice a lot more before you can do that in combat."
"I know I need to practice but since I know how to do it now it will be easier to do."
"Whatever you say master" Assassin then leaves.
After he leaves Sonoko decides that since today is a good day she will go eat breakfast and continue working on her magecraft.
After entering her workshop she tells assassin she will be there most of the day trying to get her water attack battle reader. Assassin agrees and tells her he will be scouting for servants again.
As Sonoko is working on her magecraft, assassin sees the Emiya boy. He decides to follow him for a bit and see if he is going to summon a servant today. After following him for a while assassin just sighs as he realizes all the boy is doing is just shopping.
Assassin decides to just go back home since he's been out looking for servants for a couple of hours already. Assassin turns into little blue pieces and disappears.
A/N: This is the Third chapter of my story, yay. This chapter was just about dreams and magecraft. I ended up giving Sonoko control of ice and water to an extent. The next chapter will maybe have a fight scene with lancer or something.
