Chapter 5: The First Date and More Missions
Team 7 just met up with teams 10 and 8 and were heading to get some barbeque. As they walked in Naruto was shot down by the owner until he saw the amount of ki team 7 shot at him. Both jonin sensei thought what has Kakashi been doing to these kids they are giving off elite jonin amounts of ki.
The other genin were pissing themselves at team 7 ki and some of the weaker ones nearly passed out. The owner of the place stood up and scare out of his mind brought the ninjas to a table of 12. As they sat down Asuma asked, "Kakashi what have been doing to your genin it has only been a month and they are radiating power that rivals jonin." Kakashi just eye smiled and replied to the chain-smoking jonin with "I taught them nothing since the academy all it was, an act, deception is a ninja's best tool. Naruto is the strongest me behind him then Sasuke and then Hinata. Naruto is close to Kage level and I think only Gai with the 7th gate active might have a chance." This shocked everyone in the room.
Kiba snorted not believing anything that Kakashi said and said "No way is the dead last Kage level," as Naruto radiated ki the flooded the room scaring the jonin and making Kiba see inmates of his death. Naruto flashed behind Kiba and put a kunai to his neck. "Say that again dog boy," Naruto said using a bit of Kyubi chakra to deepen his voice. Kiba was sweating bullets and in fright try to hit Naruto. The blonde blocked and kicked Kiba to the wall.
Kiba hit the ball and Akamaru ran after him. Naruto sat back down and Kurenai wanting to get off the topic of routing team 7 said "how many D-Ranks has every team done my team has done 15," "18," Asuma said and Kakashi said "2" making everyone sweatdrop. "Ha, I knew that Naruto Baka would drag my Sasuke Kun down," Sakura said as he pointed her finger at Naruto. "My team has also done an A-Rank," Kakashi said but was cut off "Your Sasuke Kun Sasuke belongs to me," Ino shouted making everyone cover their ears. Sasuke replied to Ino and said "Ino and Sakura your annoying." This made both girls pail as they made their Sasuke Kun mad at them.
Kakashi sweatdropped and said, "Like I was going to say my team has done a long A-Rank that took us 3 weeks and we help secure trading with Wave." Sasuke kun did all of the work both fangirls thought as they squealed in delight. Everyone else was shocked team seven went on an A-Rank mission and came out alive. "Tell us the story," Asuma said surprised that team 7 went on a mission suited for jonin.
"We will but bring your students out as this will reveal a lot that they don't need to know they will know in time," Naruto said. The jonins nodded and brought their students outside as Naruto made a privacy seal. So sound doesn't get out the genin. "So can we start now?" Kunenai asked and all of Team seven nodded. "You should know some background information first," Hinata said and elaborated "Naruto and Sasuke started training together at the start of the academy and I joined 2 years later. Using the Uchiha library we gained skills in Tai, nin, gen, and kenjutsu. By the end of the Academy we were jonin level and when we were nine Kakashi spied on one of our spars which I notice but paid no mind to. By the end of the academy, we were jonin level and since Hokage sama knew we were jonin level they allow Kakashi to take the missions jonin would take." Hinata finished.
"We started with two D-Rank followed by a C-rank. This was a three-week mission. Our client was from wave coming to us for help escorting us back to his home village. He lied about the mission parameter as he couldn't pay for a higher mission. The wave was under Gato's control and he drained it of its money, the daimyo doesn't even have money. When Gato sent the demon brothers after us I sliced their chain and dropped a Hiraishin kunai that Naruto to decapitate both brothers." Sasuke said and was about to continue when Kurenai quickly said "Wait how is Naruto able to use lord fourth's jutsu," "because I am his son it's my birthright." Naruto said as the table mouths dropped open and saliva was pouring out of the two jonins' mouths. The others laugh and Kakashi decides to continue "We set up camp and the next day when it got interesting."
"The next day we were on our way and once we got to the Wave border we were attacked by Zabuza Momochi and his subordinate Haku, Haku can use Ice release and was most likely a Yuki. I protected the client while my genin took care of the two jonin level ninja." "What!" Both the jonins shouted and Asuma said "Kakashi you know they could have gotten killed," "if they could have gotten killed then why isn't my student in the hospital or injured," Kakashi replied and Asuma was very concerned about what Kakashi was thinking and how he was teaching his kids.
"How about my genin explain the fights as I wasn't participating," Kakashi suggested and they nodded. "I will start as I fought Zabuza by myself. Zabuza thought that he had an easy victory but I didn't even deactivate my gravity seals. Zabuza started and rushed at me which I block with my wind blade and went for a counter. He evaded and put up the Kirigakure no jutsu he got behind me and slashed the one he hit was a shadow clone and I pop out of the ground trying to hit get him. He followed me in the air and went for a slash. I hiraishin away and that is when he knew he lost."
"He realized that I was the fourth son and I kick him into the air with a shadow clone that was under him. I threw a Hiriashin kunai into the air and went to slam a Rasengan into Zabuza to kill him. His subordinate took the blow and because the Rasengan has a spinning effect Haku flew into Zabuza and slammed him into the ground. Sasuke finished him with a Chidori and we collect his bounty on the way back." Naruto finished explaining the battle and Sasuke started "I and Hinata cornered Haku but got trapped in his ice mirrors."
"We dodge his senbon for a bit until Hinata infused wind Chakra into a rotation and I put fire into the rotation to make a vortex of fire which sinched Haku. Haku then shunshined into Naruto's Rasengan and you know what happened." Sasuke finished he jonins was in awe Asuma asked "Kakashi you taught Sasuke the Chidori," "I didn't he copied it with his Sharingan and I allowed him to use it." Kakashi answered Asuma's question and continued the story. "We got to Tazuna's house and Naruto put up a barrier to protect the house. Gato decide to try his luck and try to blow up the barrier at night and we took care of his thugs."
"The next day we killed Gato and blew up his mansion which was a warehouse. The thugs were killed and 600 million Ryo was given to Wave and they started to recover." Kakashi finished and Naruto continued "I went to his storage which was protected with seals so when the mansion exploded the money didn't also burn, I found girls and a room of headband from the shinobi Gato has scammed off. The girls were most likely sex slaves and I also found drug transactions that Gato did. The thing special with the headband was that I found this." Naruto pulled out his Uzushio headband and once again the jonins were amazed.
"This is a Uzushigakure headband which I found in Gato's warehouse and I was given the green light to wear it as I was one of the last Uzumaki. After that, the bridge was finished and now we are here." Naruto finished the stories as the seals dropped and the genin were let in. "what did you guys talk about that took about 10 minutes." Ino complained and they all sat down after that team 7 and the other new genin team ate in peace as they enjoyed each other company.
After the meal, the group parted ways and went back to their homes. The next morning Naruto decides to do something, something important. As Naruto walked down the streets of Konoha he was glared at but paired no mind and went to training ground 27. As Naruto arrived Hinata was already there and Sasuke followed right after the blond. They followed there and had a spar to send it off.
After Sasuke left, Naruto pulled Hinata to the side and said "Hinata, I know you had a crush on me since the academy but I felt like I was too young but now how about I take you on a date." Hinata went back into her shy shell but said yes. Hinata's blush was a fiery red and Sasuke was watching from a distance. There is going to be a lot of teasing with those two this is going to be fun Sasuke thought as he smirked inwardly to himself.
Naruto thought it only right to bring Hinata to a more casual date as he wanted to start slow not wanting to fuck this up. He brought Hinata to a Dango stand and order a couple of sticks of Dango and a side of tea. As Naruto was making small talk with Hinata, Sasuke was shocked at how well Naruto was doing as even though he was smart he was always a knucklehead. At the end of the date, it was around 8 and Naruto took Hinata to the Hokage Rock they sat on his father's head as they watched the sunset little did they know Sasuke was behind them and took a picture.
The sunset went behind the mountains while Naruto pecked Hinata's cheek and walked the Hyuga back to her clan's compound. Sasuke got another picture of Naruto kissing Hinata's cheek. Sasuke would never forget this as he walked home chuckling like a madman. Sasuke went to bed smirking as he was going to bring the pictures up in their next training session. Hinata was very happy as her childhood crush just asked her out and Naruto was happy as he had finally asked his secret crush out.
The next day when Sasuke brought up the picture both of hIs teammates paled. "You were behind us and you did this," Naruto shouted and Sasuke nodded with a smirk plastered on his face. Hinata was as pale as Naruto but said nothing as Naruto said what was on her mind. The day went on as normal and Naruto walked with Hinata to the Hyuga compound. As Naruto try to walk into the compound one of the branch members said state your purpose for walking onto the Hyuga estate. "I would like to speak with Hiashi sama," Naruto said picking his word carefully not to get denied.
"You can't pass you too dangerous," the other branch member said as Hinata said, "he is my teammate and I would like it if you allowed him access to the Hyuga compound." the branch member said nothing and Naruto walked in. Naruto marbled at the Hyuga compound until he walked into the main house living courters. Hinata brought Naruto to her father's office and Naruto knocked. "Come in," Hiashi said and Naruto walked in surprising him. "You are Uzumaki Naruto correct, why are you in my study." "I am here for a request, I wish to date your daughter Hinata Hyuga," Naruto answered Hiashi's question and Hiashi was shocked even though he try to keep a cool deminer this shocked him.
"Why should I accept my daughter is a failure not even someone like you would want why do you propose such an offer." Hiashi question, "You might not know this but Hinata has been training with her genin team since she was eight and she is on par with Kakashi Hatake." Naruto stated and Hiashi shook his head he didn't believe this one bit. "I will allow you to date her if your claims are accurate. I will ask Hatake san tomorrow and if he denies this you can't date my daughter. Come back at 6 and I will tell you my decision." Hiashi said as Naruto begin to walk off.
Naruto arrived at the Hyuga compound and was let into Hiashi's study. "I see you speak the truth Kakashi said, "I fought your daughter in a spar and she was keeping up with me and if it wasn't for my experience as a ninja I would have lost the spar." Hiashi said and Naruto nodded, "I see you only bring good to my daughter as she has been less shy and more open over the years I do thank you for bringing my daughter out of her shells and making her stronger," Hiashi said with a hint of gratefulness and as Naruto left his studied he smiled to himself happy that his daughter was finally getting strong and no longer a failure.
As the three-day break ended Naruto walked into train ground seven with a chuckling Sasuke as he had shown the picture he had to Kakashi. "Young love am I right, they are cute together," Kakashi said Naruto walked up followed by Hinata. "The only sad part about that is that you can find love yourself maybe quit reading porn and you can start from there," Naruto advised but Kakashi got all dark and gloomy at the mention of him not reading porn "That is not porn, that's art!" Kakashi shouted and Naruto laugh with the others. As the storm clouds departed Kakashi said "we have a brand new mission."
The team perked up and Kakashi gave an eye smile. They walk their way to the Hokage tower and walk into Hiruzen to receive their mission. "Ah, team 7 your mission is to investigate the increasing amount of refugees from the land of rice. This is a B-Rank mission but be on guard." Hiruzen said as Kakashi's team left. They packed and met at the village gates. Kakashi woke up the gate guard and signed their permission to leave the village.
As they were on their way to the land of Rice team seven was ambushed by a team of ninjas from the newly formed sound village. They were in the land of Rice and they can be connected to the actively. Team 7 saw that there were two chunin and one jonin. Aoi Rokushō who was a missing-nin from Konoha and now wore a headband with a music note on it. "That is Aoi a missing-nin from Konoha and the one who stole the sword of the thunder gods which were used by Tobirama Senju," Kakashi informed as Naruto threw a kunai. It landed around the group of sound ninjas as they laughed.
"Kid your aim is unbeatable," Aoi said while his comrades laughed. Naruto disappeared and killed both of the Chunin. That kunai, I've seen before is a Hiraishin kunai that will be no match to the sword I have. Aoi laughs in his mind. Naruto flashed at Aoi who blocked and swung at Naruto. Naruto blocked the blow with a wind blade he made with his fingertips. "How did you block this nothing can block this sword," Aoi said in distress as he might lose this battle. Suddenly A Naruto clone hopped out of the ground and slammed a Rasengan into Aoi's Back the jonin's spin broke and Aoi was sitting there as if he was a sitting duck yelling in pain.
"Aoi Rokushō as you stole the Sword of the Thunder God from Konoha and killed two anbu and for high treason I sentence you to death." Naruto finished his statement and stabbed Aoi with the same sword he stole. Naruto stored the sword in a scroll and keeper it in his back pouch. The group continued their mission and arrived at The Land of Rice. The travel took two days and Kakashi decided to take one civilian to the side and asked what happen as their village was on fire. "Monster, snakes, demon," the civilian said as he keep running.
"Shit is this Orochimaru, "Kakashi said as this mission was now an S-Rank mission. His genin were on high alert and they started to explore the village. The village was burning and a mess. Kakashi used his enhanced sense of smell to find a snake-like smell west of them. "That's the way of the capital is that where Orochimaru went," Kakashi said as his team rushed off. After an hour of running the drive to the capital to see a crater-like hole that was filled with pathways. It looked like a lab and was overflowing with dark chakra.
Hinata activated her byakugan to see about a hundred shinobis and an underground lair that was filled with twisted experiments. Hinata keep observing and saw that Orochimaru just switched to another body and read his lips. This just works perfectly all I need now is to get Sasuke to get his body and the Sharingan. "I just read Orochimaru's lips and he can move from body to body and wants Sasuke for his Sharingan. Sasuke gagged at the thought as Kakashi said "This mission is done and this will be great information for Konoha."
The group left the vicinity of Oto and rushed back to Konoha. They ran back into the Land of Fire and started to tree hop for another 2 days before arriving at the gates of Konoha. The group jumped down and started to walk back into the village. Both gate guards were awake as it was early in the morning as team 7 arrived. "Oh Kakashi your back from your mission how did it go," Minor interruptions but I went great got the info we needed," Kakashi said as his team rushed to the Hokage tower. Once they arrived Kakashi said "team seven reporting from S-Rank mission."
"What happens this time," Hiruzen asked as Naruto responded "We found out that Orochimaru started a village called Otogakure and he wants Sasuke's body for the Sharingan. We defeated the traitor Aoi Rokushō and got the Sword the Thunder God back and it is in this scroll." Naruto finished the mission report and Hiruzen was about to fall into the land of the unconscious. After the Professor got out of his shock he asked "What is their headband symbol." Hiruzen asked and Naruto gave him Aoi's headband. The Hokage nodded as he said "Thank you for your service; this will help greatly with Konoha defenses and plan. You will have a week off if you want as you guys seem very persistent with missions."
Team seven was walking home parting ways but on a branch, a member dropped down and said "Team 7 you are invited to eat dinner with Hiashi sama and his family."Kakashi declined the offer but his genins accepted. As they walked to the Hyuga compound they made small talk. Once they got to the compound they were invited and sat a the dining room. Hiashi walked in and greeted his guest. "Team 7 Hinata has told me great things is it true that you are all jonin level." Hiashi was very questioning of his clam but believe her daughter.
"We are," Naruto said as both Naruto and Sasuke moved at elite jonin speed and got behind Hiashi. Hiashi was surprised and happy that his daughter was with these two as they were both very capable. "Alright let's eat," Hiashi announce as Hinatbi walked in and sat down with the rest of the group. Normally there would be more people but Hiashi wanted privacy as they had guessed. "So Hinata since you got back from your B-Rank mission all went well right," Hiashi asked as he saw no harm to his daughter. "While it wasn't a B-Rank mission it was an S-Rank mission due to some interference," Hinata said as Hiashi's jaw dropped no harm no missing limbs nothing. "Tell me what happened!" Hiashi yelled as Naruto placed another privacy seal to make sure this doesn't go to others who could be trustworthy.
"Hiashi who knew you could be so protective," Sasuke asked as he received a glare for Hiashi. "Are you dumb Uchiha, she is my daughter of course I care for her," Hiashi shouted. "Then what was the point of calling her a failure I made her lose self-confidence making her weaker than she could have been. You called that protection no if she goes into the field without us helping her prior she would have frozen and could have closed her life." Sasuke yelled at the older Hyuga. "You didn't think I knew that I was putting her down because she would train harder," Hiashi shouted about the throw hands with the Uchiha. "you two shut it, Hiashi your over-protectiveness made your daughter weaker as she was always fragile in nature because she isn't like the strong and sturdy earth like the Juken she isn't strong in you clan techniques." Naruto cut in "Sasuke give him some slack after Hizashi he didn't want to lose more family." Naruto gave the Uchiha a glare that made Onoki wince.
"Anyways with that done Hiashi you can continue with your inspection," Naruto said in a bored tone. Hiashi looked at Naruto and glared and snickered. "Dad stop I am fine." Hinata cut in and Hiashi wasn't convinced and he looked over Hinata. "Are my eyes playing with me or are you fine," Hiashi asked and the rest of the table face-planted. "As I said I am fine, let's get into the debriefing of the mission," Hinata said as Hiashi sat down and gesture to begin.
"I will start, me, Hinata, Sasuke, and Kakashi we're on our way to the Land of Rice. The first day was with no interference but the next day we were attacked by Aoi Rokushō." Naruto finished as Hiashi was shocked he had heard about Aoi, Ibiki's scar was from what he stole. "He had two chunin subordinates that I took out and went to battle Aoi. So I noticed the kunai I used and we were shocked and that the same time scared. I used a Hiraishin kunai he first mocked me for my aim and his subordinate died in a flash. He block a few of my blows before I use a Hiraishin to get behind him and ended the fight quickly."
When Naruto finished his explanation Hiashi was speechless. "Are you his son," Hiashi asked with a quick nod he got his answer. As Sasuke explains the rest of the mission Hiashi was amazed at the amount of maturity these kids show they were genin and we're known to be undisciplined but they talked as if they were seasoned jonin giving a mission report. " I know that you guys are strong but I am surprised at how mature your attitude is." Hiashi expressed his thoughts as Sasuke smiled. "We have to be if we are foolish we will fall into the hate Naruto is treated like shit, Hinata is patronized by her clan as they don't know her skill, and I would become arrogant as everyone pampers me like I am the prince of Konoha."
Hiashi nodded and smiled as he saw a team that can rival the Sannin. They were powerful mature and knew the shinobi world and the troubles it brings. Dinner was finished in an enjoyable silence and as everyone parted ways Naruto pecked Hinata on the cheek making Hiashi smile. They are cute, Minato you raise quite a man I hope I will be there for your son.
The next morning team 7 arrived at the Hokage tower and we were greeted by Hiruzen. " You didn't take your break well how about this? All of the new genin go on a mission together This will be a C-rank mission but it is an A-rank mission and your team will lead the mission I think this will open the genin to the ninja world." Hiruzen put the statement out and Kakashi thought that it would be a great idea. The rest of the team was a little reluctant as they were fresh genin but they nodded.
A few minutes later teams 8 and 10 arrived and both Sakura and Ino were over the moon about Sasuke. Kiba was excited as they received a C-Rank mission Shikamaru thought it was a drag and Choji didn't mind it. Shino stayed quiet and the mission was to protect a very important scroll that would be going to Takigakure. As the genin teams walked the scroll was given to Kakashi. After an hour to everyone but shocked Kakashi was on time. "Kakashi your on time!" Kunenai shouted as Kakashi sweatdropped. "If I am late my genin team is strong enough to chain me and torture me," Kakashi said as storm clouds form over his head. Kiba laugh at the pathetic excuse of a jonin when Kurenai informed him that he was the strongest jonin in Konoha.
Kiba was quite dead silent how strong is team 7 he thought? They left the village gate and the first few days of travel were fine as there were no attacks until the fourth day. A group of about 5 chunin and three jonins dropped down with headbands from Iwa. "Konoha scum were here to kill you." all three jonins yell and they looked like they were recently promoted. "Naruto put all of the genin in a barrier and Kurenai stay back just in case they break into the barrier," Kakashi said as Naruto made four shadow clones and made a yellow barrier that could repel everything that isn't an S-Rank jutsu.
Kunenai stayed in the barrier and Asuma walled up and got into a stance. "Hinata takes the jonin Naruto and Sasuke dispose of the chunins and burn the bodies," Kakashi ordered and they got into their stances. All of the genins were watching as Shikamaru thought this was not troublesome. The chunin rushed at Naruto and one said "earth style earth bullets," as rocks flew at Naruto and Sasuke, Naruto dodged and jumped into the air "wind style great breakthrough." the blond yelled as the chunin watched Sasuke make a different set of hand signs and said "fire style phoenix fire jutsu." fireballs launch into the air and we're redirected aiming at the chunins.
The chunins dodged but the fireballs followed them. As the fireballs disappeared shuriken can be shown as Naruto substatited with one and sliced the chunin. Sasuke jump next to Naruto launching a few shurikens at the chunins. The chunins blocked and three of them made the hand sign earth-style mud waves. As the ground made intense ripples but Naruto and Sasuke dodged as Naruto threw a Hiraishin kunai both Naruto a Sasuke switched themselves with a shadow clone and flashed behind the Chunin. Sasuke made a Chidori and stab one of the chunin while Naruto stabbed one in the heart. The other two chunins saw that three of their comrades died to a duo of genin made the same hand signs and yelled "earth style rock spikes." Rock spikes from both sides launched at Naruto and Sasuke and they both jumped and shunshined behind the two Iwa Chunins and stabbed both with a kunai.
Both Naruto and Sasuke jump back and regroup with the other members of his team. (Hinata 5 minutes early) Hinata was glaring at the Iwa jonin. "I am fighting a Hyuga all I have to do is to keep my distance." The jonin mocked and Hinata went through a set of hand signs. "Wind style slicing gale winds." Hinata did as blades of winds almost invisible sliced the jonin's chest and shoulder. "A Hyuga with jutsu surprising." The jonin inquired as he rushed and then jumped over Hinata. Hinata met him in the air and close the tenketsu in the jonin's shoulders as both made their descent. The jonin use the fall to kick Hinata which she dodged and open his tenketsu. Hinata had a shadow clone that went under the ground and kicked the jonin into the air.
The jonin soared with incredible speed trying to gain control in the middle of the air but not fast enough as Hinata did an ax kick and followed it down slamming the jonin into the ground which substituted with a log. Hinata activated her byakugan and jumped the jonin popped out and Hinata gave him a juken strike to the jonin's stomach damaging the chakra coils and nearly knocking out the jonin. The jonin was panting when he pulled out a kunai and engaged Hinata in battle. Hinata blocked his swings with a kunai of her own. After about 10 seconds Hinata brought the jonin into a trap a clone set up. The jonin thought he had the upper hand and went to go for the final slash to kill the Hyuga.
Hinata disappeared in a poof of smoke and kunai was sent at him from all angles. He jumped and was met with the real Hinata who kick him down and a shadow clone pierced the heart of the jonin. Blood splattered all over the clone and it dipped with a dead jonin on the ground. The genin observing the battles were stunned was this what they sign up for all of them though?
As Sakura watch she was having an inside battle with herself. T-this is the shinobi world people die you don't hesitate to kill all I want is to be with Sasuke no I have a sign-up for this and I won't be backing out. As Sakura steeled her results Ino was on the same train of thought. Kiba was in awe at team 7 they were fighting chunin and jonin like they were among the elite and didn't hesitate to kill.
With Kakashi and Asuma, no words were spared by the Iwa jonins as they clash between Kakashi and Asuma simply overpowered them Asuma had his trench knives, and Kakashi overpowered the ninja and nin and taijutsu. After a quick battle, Asuma dealt the final blow that killed both jonin using his trench knives. They regrouped and the barrier dropped. "What are you guys," Choji asked as he was shocked into silence by how easily their sensei and comrades had to kill.
"Choji we are shinobi we kill for a living we protect and we will kill at a moment's notice," Asuma said revealing the harsh truth of being a shinobi to the group. Choji nodded although he was a gentle boy he would fight if it meant protecting and killing if it meant keeping the people most dear to him safe. Many other genins were evaluating their goals as a shinobi as they have witnessed the truth of what a shinobi is. Team seven looks at the other rookie's genin and thought Hokage sama was right this would get through their thick genin skulls.
As they continue to tree hop they arrived at a local village where they stay the night and the rest of the trip to Takigakure went perfectly with no interruptions. As they walked around the village the jonin propose the trade offer that the Hokage wanted as it brought good to both villages. The leader Shibuki accepted the offer and sign the scroll. The jonins walked out of the office and met with their genins as they made their way back to Konoha.
The trip back was simple and the group made it with no interruptions. As they walked through the gates both guards greeted the team as they came back from a 3 week-long mission. They walked past the gates and they rushed to the Hokage tower. The group of twelve knocked on the door and Hiruzen let them in.
He saw the faces of the genin and smirked his plan worked they aren't acting like fangirls. As he heard the mission rundown he knew the Onoki would be pissed. As Kakashi explains the battle and how the trade deal was accepted Hiruzen had a bad feeling about the Chunin exams. As the report finished Hiruzen put this on all of the team records as a B-Rank mission.
