Here is the next chapter. I wanted to post a few to see if people would like them so let me know. Enjoy, and I own nothing.

The next three months passed quickly. Both Skye and Evangeline spent as much time together as they could becoming fast friends.

Neither girl had gone to each other's house but that was alright with them. They had fun hanging out at school and walking home together. Even sitting on the swings at the nearby park when it was not too cold and talking for hours sharing hopes and dreams.

Evangeline taught Skye some self-defense while Skye taught her some hacking.

Both girls were having the time of their lives hanging out and having fun.

So when Skye got the unexpected news that she would be leaving she was crushed. She had finally made a real friend and was not ready to leave her behind. She wondered if she had done anything wrong here and could not think of anything at all. This home had been going really well and she had hoped she would be able to stay for a while.

That is what she got for hoping though. Another home slipped out of her fingers, A life that she had so hoped to live.

She had really thought this place would be different and here it was just the same as the others. Just when she was starting to feel comfortable and fitting in she was sent back just as she always was.

After packing her things she pulled out a paper and pen and wrought a note for Evangeline. She had to tell her goodbye there was no way she could just leave without saying anything to her. So that is what she did while she waited for her social worker to come to pick her up.

When she got there 30 minutes later she had finished her letter and was ready to go.

Walking downstairs with her things she set goodbye and went to the car. Skye got in and waited for Miss. James to get in, which she did after a few moments.

"I'm sorry it didn't work out, Skye. I promise you we will find you a forever home."

"I don't count on it."

"I know you don't but one day you will have a forever home."

"Can we do something before we head back?"

"What"

"I just want to drop this note off at my friend's house. She's out with her parents today but I want to leave it for her. That way she knows and does not have to wonder what happened to me."

"Where does she live?"

"Just over a block, I will be really quick I promise."

"Alright, tell me how to get there," Skye told Miss James how to get to her friend's house.

They pulled up and Miss James parked before looking at Skye.

"Go put your letter up there and then come right back."

"I will be quick I promise." Skye grabbed the letter and got out of the car walked up to the house and felt her heart breaking. It was worse than saying goodbye to a foster family.

She now had to say goodbye to the first real friend she had ever had.

A friend who had accepted her for all she was and brought her into her friend group, no questions asked.

Someone who looked out for her and asked for nothing in return.

It didn't seem fair that once again she was being left because people didn't want her.

She had found somewhere to fit in and where she belonged and all of the sudden it was ripped away from her.

With a sigh and sad face, Skye placed the letter on the door for her friend to find.

"I will miss you, Ev. I hope you are right about that 'fate' thing and that one day our paths cross again." Skye felt a tear start to fall and she did everything to keep herself from crying as she headed back to the car.

Once in Miss. James waited for her to be buckled.

"Ready to go?"

"As ready as I can be, Thanks for letting me do that."

"Of course, I think you deserve something after the day you have had."

"Just nothing good," Skye said quietly to herself.

Miss. James pulls out and then they are on their way back to St. Agnes.

Skye watches the dark clouds and then sees the first raindrop fall and hit her window.

The weather was perfectly matching her mood.

She was completely focused on the rain. She missed the car driving past them that her friend was in heading home to the house that Skye was leaving.

Skye lightly pulled the chain from around her neck up and looked at it.

It was half of a star pendant that had 'BE and FRI, FOR' on it. When put together with the part that Evangeline had around her neck it said 'BEST FRIENDS FOREVER. Evangeline had given it to her just a few weeks ago when they had been hanging out and Skye was touched that someone had given her something so nice. She made a promise to keep it safe as she went back and not let anyone see it or ever take it from her. It would be the one thing she had left of the only true friend she ever had in her life.

The other car pulled up to the house that Skye had left and Evangeline got out with her parents and helped to grab groceries and ran up to the house as the rain started to fall faster. Her mom got to the door first and saw the letter addressed to her daughter. Grabbing it she opened the door walked in and let Phil and Ev walk in as well. They sat the things down on the table before she turned to her daughter.

"This was on the door for you." Ev took it from her mom and looked at it. She could tell right away it was from Skye and smiled. She was putting it in her pocket so she could read it once she was done helping her parents.

"It's from my friend, I can read it in a little while."

She got to work helping her parents and they were done quickly.

"Do you need me for anything else?"

"No Sweetie go ahead and do what you would like."

"Thanks, dad. Love you guys."

"Love you" they called as she headed up to her room.

Once in she shut the door and pulled out the letter before sitting in her window seat and opening the letter to read.

Ev,

I don't even know how to start this letter or how to say everything. I have been looking at this paper for almost 20 minutes and still don't know how to start so I am just going to say it.

I'm leaving today, and I am going to miss you so very much. You have been one of the greatest friends I ever could have asked for and I know we have only been friends for three months but in my life that is forever. There is so much I want to say to you and I have no idea how. I know that no one has ever been as kind as you or welcoming. You brought me into your group of friends and made me feel like I fit in somewhere in this world. You have no idea how much it means to me all that you have done for me.

I know that I could never repay you for all of the kindness and generosity that you have shown me in my time here but I do want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart because you really have been a wonderful friend.

I do know that I will carry the necklaces you gave me everywhere and always have it with me to remind myself that somewhere in the world I have someone who is my friend and looked out for me when I needed it the most.

I very much hope that you are right and that fate does bring us together again because there is so much left unsaid and so much that we wanted to do together. Now it has all been taken from us.

It's not fair that we don't get to even say goodbye to one another when we have become such friends. I have never known what it is like to have a true sister but now I do.

You became so much more than just a friend you became a sister to me and I will always keep your love and kindness with me.

I hope one day we can see each other again and that when we do that it will feel like no time has passed at all. While I don't know if or when that would happen I will hold on to the hope that maybe one day it might.

Thank you so much for being my friend and not letting me feel alone in a new school like so many others have. I hope I can make a friend at my next school but just know I will never have a friend Like you ever again in my life.

I wish you all the best and hope that you can tell the others thank you for me as well for being so kind and being the friends that I needed at this time in life. I do hope our paths cross again one day and will look forward to it if it ever does happen.

Thank you for being the best friend ever and I will always be grateful to you.

Love your forever friend, Skye.

With tears falling down her face Evangeline held the letter to her chest and in her other hand held her pendant and cried her heart out.

Even Though she had amazing friends still she knew she would miss Skye with all of her heart.

From the first day, they met their friendship had been so different than her others.

Becoming friends with Skye had been easy and natural.

The time they spent together they never ran out of things to talk about and it felt like saying hello to an old friend instead of meeting someone new.

Ev hoped that she was right and fate or whatever would bring them together again because she felt like she was losing her best friend and had no idea how they had become so close so fast.

Skye had been invited to her party next weekend where she could finally introduce her new friend to her parents. Now she would never get the chance and truthfully she was not really feeling the party mood anymore as well.

Her friend was gone and she was not able to even say goodbye to her. Looking at her pendant she gave it a soft smile.

At Least Skye promised to keep her half and she would do the same knowing that she would also hold onto the friendship they had formed.

There was a knock on the door before her mom poked her head in.

"Dinner is almost ready if you want to come down." Then Melinda looked at her daughter and saw the tears and walked over to her.

"Love what is wrong?"

"She's gone mom, my new friend I was telling you about. She had to leave and they sent her back. How can people do that? All she wants is to be loved. It's not that hard, she's a kind and amazing person. Why did they send her away?"

"O, love, I don't know and wish I had a different answer for you but I don't. I am sorry your friend is gone and I wish there was something that I could do to make this better. I'm afraid that there isn't though and it is part of life. I hope one day your paths cross again and that you can still be friends. I do know from what you told me that your friendship probably meant the world to her and you could have changed her life. I am so proud of you for being such an amazing young lady and always welcoming people and seeing the best in them. I know it hurts right now but I am here and so is your dad and everyone else. One day I believe that your paths will cross again because friends like that never truly dissipate.

"Thanks, mom, I love you."

"I love you too baby."

"Is that what it was like for you and my mother?"

"Mia was one of my very best friends and I miss her every day that she is gone. But she gave me a gift, you. She knew that Phil and I needed you just as much if not more than you needed us and for that, I will always be so grateful to her. When Phil and I lost Scarlet my world fell apart but you were still here and you and your sweet smile and personality helped me so much. I will never stop looking for Scarlet and one day I really do hope to find her but you will never not be loved by your dad and me. We have two daughters, you and Scarlet. We love you both so much and you are our world. Your mother was so kind and loving. All the good and beautiful things about you, you get from her. Which I am so glad about because having you here with us is like having my best friend here. And I know that while you are close with the others you were really close to your new friend. Mia and I had hoped you and Scarlet would be the same way as us. Why do you think your middle name is Rose and hers is Daisy? We had hoped you would become best friends just like us. I like to think one day we will find her and you will get the chance to be best friends just like Mia and I were. I am so sorry that you were not able to say goodbye to your friend because I do know how that feels sweet girl and I wish you didn't have to go through it but I am here for you and will help in any way that I am able to."

"I know you will. I love you, mom. Thank you for being the best mom I could have asked for. I am pretty lucky, Not only did I get one mom who loved me but I got two which is a lot more than most get. I am very lucky to have you and dad who stepped up and chose to be there for me and love me even though you were going through things as well."

"Loving you and taking you in was the easiest decision of your lives my love."

"You mom's right. Loving you was never something hard for us to do. We just did and don't ever forget how much we love you. Although if you do we will do everything we can to remind you every single day how much we love you and want you."

"I am truly the luckiest Kid in the whole world to get you as parents."

"Well, we are pretty lucky to have you as a daughter."

"Are my ladies ready to have dinner?"

"Yes, I think I am."

"I know I am." They got up and they pulled their daughter into a hug holding her tightly to them for a moment before letting her go.

"I know you are going to miss her and all but like your mom said you never know what is going to happen we have learned that many times over the years. All we can do is make the most of the moments as they happen. People come into our lives when we most need them and people do come back into our lives at times as well. Plus if it really comes down to it your mom and I are spies so we can find her if you don't run into each other in a timely fashion. Just say the word and we will help find her."

"Thanks, dad, but I think at the moment I need to trust that things are working the way they are meant to and when the time is right we will see each other again and be friends."

"There is my girl. I love you."

"I love you both too. Now let's have dinner before it gets cold." The family of three headed to have dinner as Ev put her complete trust in the fact that things would work out.
