What started as a little side story for me. Ended up becoming something personal in the end.
Here is three years' worth of solo brainstorming. I thought it would be best to share what I've been doing for a little while, and give you all a small, or rather, a large explanation of how this story came together. If not, feel free to skip ahead and enjoy the story.
For starters, this whole project originally started as a yandere storyline. Most notably it was a male reader character who controlled the element of fire.
In the three years of mulling over this idea. I found this original version of this story sticking closely with the actual Snow Queen story itself. Anna representing Greta. With a pretty normal, non- Royal life, with a few family secrets.
The male or female protagonist representing Kai. Who controls the element of fire, and is seen as the half-breed bastard child by some of the magical beings in this story. His, or her father, being tied to magic, and his mother is trying to get her husband back, but never returning home, leaving the mc as An orphan.
Both Anna and the Mc are childhood friends, maybe even romantic partners. That is if, Anna's mother(Iduna) permits it. Yes, Anna's mother and father(Agnarr) would have been alive in this original idea.
Oh, and as for Elsa. Well, as you can already guess She wasn't going to be Anna's sister. She wasn't even born with ice magic. It made sense to me at the time.
She was once a regular Royal diplomat. Two maybe three centuries ago. Who fell in love with a mage who controlled the plants/ used magic spells, and brought joy to many. At least until tragedy stuck the mage. Leaving the young maiden heartbroken and alone.
That was until three witches came to her and told her stories, about the devil's or should I say (chernobog's) mirror that could grant wishes. Does anyone remember 1940 Fantasia? How long has been since you've all seen that guy?
Alone with grief, she has spent years collecting shards(souls) for the mirror with Y/N heart being the last piece of the puzzle. She was also given her powers through the study and use of dark magic.
Then, there is Kristoff. Who would have been a robin hood, and possibly a dash of a Peter Pan-like figure in this story?
This was essentially the original version I had in mind. Not a complete yandere story. More so a tragedy, for a sympathetic Elsa, and it was set up as an Anna x reader. Originally titled. The Phoenix's Frozen heart. (Not the greatest title.)
Then, that's when I saw the first official trailer of frozen 2, and the movie itself of course.
That's when I decided to change up this story because this whole premise just seemed like something you guys might have already read before, And I was kind of tired of the whole, Elsa being the (tragically misunderstood character trope.)
I enjoyed the second movie and all, but I would be lying if I didn't admit, that I honestly expected more.
I had high expectations for the movie, and that was entirely my fault. but with what I ended up seeing, and how it concluded. I was content because it answered the obvious question I, along with many others had.
Who is Elsa, and how can I use that in the story I wanted to tell?
Side note.
The second movie also made me admire Anna's courage and perseverance a lot more than before. Almost to the point where I nearly considered the possibility of starting something once again, with the protagonist and Anna, instead of Elsa, but alas. My brain wouldn't allow it. At least, not this time.
Plus, she is already married during the start of this story, and I would hate to ruin a good thing between Kristoff and Anna. I get the feeling you all might laugh at this, a little. Since you read the synopsis of the story. Let alone the original idea.
Anyway, this then led me to another few questions I found myself asking. Who is the protagonist this time around? What is his or her story? What is their beginning, and how would this person affect Elsa? How do I put everything thing together to where all of it, almost makes sense, and it doesn't feel like I'm pulling out of 'thin air. A lot of questions, I know.
Believe it or not. I figured out that answer by watching a DC cartoon comedy, a few Miyazaki/ Studio Ghibli films, and looking into a variety of mythologies.
Which in the end. It all culminated in my decision into creating a male lead protagonist. Who's magic revolves around him controlling the element of earth, as well as understanding all plant life around him? He is essentially the embodiment of mother nature. Wow, this plant guy went from a dead mage to one of the main characters. By now, You guys can see how torn I was about all of this. I don't know? Would you guys be interested in The frozen Phoenix?
Damn, If so, that's five-story. Revolving around Disney/Frozen stories. That's the beauty of wasting three years.
Cerebral palsy
A disability that is known to affect the muscles, motor function, and balance of the person's limbs. Which was also first documented as Little's Disease, named after an English surgeon, William John Little. (1810-1894)
Take this little information however you want. After all, this story will involve a little bit of a personal physical struggle I tend to go through. Along with many others. That being said. I'm also going to be taking a few creative liberties for this story.
This first part of this will be very Disney-like, as in. It will center around friendships, trust, and discovery. No romance of any kind. At least between the two leads. I mean how could there be. Especially when they just met and have no prior history with each other. As far as they know.
Oh, and this story will be very centered, between the two leads. Elsa and the protagonist, Deigo. But it will most likely stay very Elsa-focused.
That all being said. Here is a list of all the Book references, and other source materials: of what I used to help me put this whole thing together. After all, I'm just one man with one idea. An idea that just kept getting bigger throughout the years. In other words, I enjoy audible
Ps.
I'm in no way sponsored by them in any way.
Kamilla Benko - Frozen 2: Forest of shadows
Disney press- Frozen 2: the audiobook version.
Mari Mancusi- Frozen 2: Dangerous Secrets
these books might also give you some insight, into what I'm trying to convey in my first book of this story. They even offered me, a more in-depth layout of Arendelle, but most importantly the castle itself. I also needed to make sure that I got all the characters down just right, and that I know when and where to use them; especially Olaf, and Seven, of course, because at the end of the day. I own nothing.
Erica David-:Anna & Elsa Collection, Vol, 1 & VOL. 2
I feel kind of bad for ruining a joyous occasion for the sake of the story. But I did enjoy these little adventure stories that the two sisters, and co. Go on in the four-year gap of when this story starts. It kind of reminded me of the Avatar mini-comics in a way.
Even though these stories are meant for little children. There is a grown man like me hearing them, quietly on his phone. As a source of reference. As a writer, you have to work with what you're given. I'm so not looking forward to that face reveal, that is bound to come one day.
(short)
Disney book group- 365 Frozen Stories
Don't judge me. Had I known, I would have never spent that coin on this book. If you can call it that. Now I'm stuck with this short storybook in my digital library. Even with all that in mind. These stories did help me out in a way.
PS. I'd hoped that some of you would have read some of these books, as my story will have some mention of characters/ Past events in my story.
For example, did any of you guys know, that Elsa had a secret admirer, during her first year as Queen? Cute story.
Serena Valentina- Mother Knows Best
Serena Valentina- Mistress of Evil
Out of all of her book series on the villains. I found these two to be very influential to my story.
William Joyce - The Guardians paperback collection- The stories are pretty good, especially with some of the characters' backstories. Most notably the villains. Even the lore behind it is quite helpful, and a bit inspiring, as well as confusing at times; but who am I to judge.
Elle Cosimano - Season Of The Storm. It's Got some mature themes, and it seems unique enough, at least to me. To take some inspiration from it.
Hans Christian Anderson- The complete fairy tales and stories.: Is this surprising to anyone? It's the man's entire collection of his work put into one book. Once again, very influential, and I'll leave it at that.
Mary Shelly's- Frankenstein. It's a story that always stuck with me for some reason. As I was slowly putting things together. I found myself thinking about this book, one day out of the blue. I had to reread this of course, and It made me realize a few things. What that is, I won't say, for spoiler reasons.
Howard Pyle- The Merry Adventure of Robin hood
The Arabian Nights, or One thousand and one nights
-Translated by Kate Douglas Wiggin & Nora A. Smith.
This Arabian Nights book only came with eight popular stories. Great listen.
Now then. Here's a collection of Music I found very helpful to me when I was slowly putting this all together. Here's a tip. Pay attention to the lyrics for some of these songs. You might figure out what I was feeling when I was listening to these songs on repeats.
Shawn James- Burn the witch, acoustic version
Eminem- Beautiful
Michael Jackson- On the Line. (unreleased track.) unless you own a collection album. There is always YouTube.
Shawn James- midnight dove, (Live at the heartbreak house). Check. Apple Music for this version. The artist explains the origin behind this song
Red Hot Chili Peppers- Under the bridge
Shawn James- Along our way
Los Lonely Boys- Heaven (Live acoustic version)
Idina Menzel & Evan Rachel Wood- Show yourself
Idina Menzel & AURORA- Into the unknown
I bet you guys were looking for these two huh? In all seriousness. If it was not for the second movie let alone these two songs. This story could have been a yandere story.
Erutan -The Willow Maid
Erutan- Branle Des Chevaux
If for some reason you don't want to check out any of this stuff, listed above. I recommend this youtube video instead. This should give you a rough idea of one of the main themes in my story. Have fun figuring out who is Elsa meant to represent in the video.
Sage's Rain- The once Radiant girl
There is still, so much more to this list but I'm afraid. That will have to wait until the second half of this story. I don't want to spoil any big guest surprises. Again, I hope you all enjoy the three years of, what I'm about to put together and pray that I don't attract any copycats. Kidding after all I don't own any Disney characters, but my own original creative material. If you want to be a writer, you got to take risks.
Chapter 1 and 2. release date February 14th 2022
Ps. If you do happen to check out the youtube videos/ audible books. Tell them, Poprocks0428 from wattpad sent you lol. I'll be curious to know how many of you will do that. I mean, I do 'sadly' own these books now. So I could easily check out the reviews

I'll let you guys decide on this one. Write it or leave it alone. (Male or female) The gender won't change the main outcome of this story. They are still a bastard child to the magic realm.
