It was a gorgeous late August afternoon, and three young first-year college students were sitting at Brook's Brew. This coffee shop remained quite a famous hot spot for multiple individuals in NYC.

The trio of females was enthusiastic because it was their first time here. This would also be their first time drinking coffee. None of the eighteen-year-olds parents permitted them to drink coffee when they still lived with them.

So, right now, each was relishing their vanilla lattes. Their first sip of coffee felt like a right of passage. However, like anything else in life? It'd take a while to get used to the flavor of the coffee. After all, anything you try takes time to get used to.

The trio was all quite fashionable attire. The dark-haired female was a beauty. She had a toasty complexion and brilliant green eyes, and her long flowing brunette locks were in a sophisticated ponytail.

Her name was Angela David, the only child of Goliath David and Dominique Destine. She looked exactly like her mother, aside from her skin tone and hair color. Truthfully, Angela took more after her mother then her father cared to admit.

She thankfully took her mother's recommendation on fashion seriously. Since her stepmother, Elisa wore nothing but t-shirts and jeans! However, today the sensational young woman was attired in a chic inky blue tunic, coal-black leggings, with matching wedge sandals.

She'd enriched her trendy look with unique accessories. Indeed she was an impressive young woman. However, she noted even her life-long best friends were also quite sensational.

To her left sat an extremely tall, ivory-skinned young lady. She'd done up her firey orange hair in Princess Leia's trademark hairstyle. Her almond-shaped eyes were a breathtaking shade of aquamarine.

The alluring young woman's name was Rosemary Sato. Her father, Jay Sato, remained one of the best physicians in all of Manhattan. However, like Angela? She took after her mother in looks.

Today Rosemary was dressed in a fuchsia low-cut top exposing her firm stomach. She wore a matching skort with platform sandals. Around her left ankle were a fuchsia anklet and a golden locket around her neck.

Their final friend was Alexandria Galway. Her flawless skin was slightly tanned, bringing out her chocolate brown eyes. She'd done up her long royal purple hair in its trademark style. A pony heart is a heart-shaped bun with a braid hanging down. Today, their petite best friend wore a magenta mini dress with sling-back heels. A music instrument case lay next to her feet.

"Well, I'm glad we all got a chance to meet up. After all, our first college semester starts in early September, even if we're all going to separate schools," Angela opened the conversation.

"Of course, we're looking forward to it, Angela. We're just delighted all our universities are still within the city. That way, we're not too far apart. I hate to be apart from either of you!" Alexandria replied sincerely. She paused to move her case out of the way of customers.

"Yes, I find it fortunate we're all able to attend schools within the city," Rosemary concurred. She sipped the delicious liquid. She then resumed, "We're fortunate we don't live far apart. I'm quite ecstatic that Alexandria and I are roommates."

"What we should be joyful about is our parents are paying half our bills," pointed Angela as she sipped her coffee. She smiled sincerely before adding, "We're all in the same agreement with our parents. They'll pay half our rent, utilities, and car payments. On the other hand? We're responsible for buying our own food, supplies, and the water bill."

"Not to mention we pay for our own TV, internet, and cell bills. We're fortunate our parents consented that we could do our laundry at their homes on weekends. Plus, have dinner once a week with them," Rosemary articulated the remainder of their living arrangements.

"We're all lucky that since we have Roku? Our TV bill is low, as are our internet and cell bills. Which are automatically withdrawn from our checking accounts," Alexandria finished as she ate her muffin. Her friends each took a muffin off the plate. They ate for a few minutes in silence before resuming their conversation.

"Yes, I love being independent. Yet, I'm still delighted our parents our supporting us through our college years," Angela smiled as she said that. She'd been rather happy her divorced parents had been able to work together to find her a place to live.

They'd divorced when she'd been very young, and it wasn't an amicable one. She knew her mother had had a challenging time dealing with her father moving on. Plus, she got a half-sister and adopted one as well. However, it seemed her mother's therapist had done a great job helping her work through these issues.

She was so caught up in her own thoughts she'd zoned out for a few moments. Then Rosemary gave her a little shake to bring her back to the conversation. She apologized and let Rosemary speak.

"Yep, I love that too," Rosemary replied, "I hope we all flourish in university. We've quite ambitious goals to accomplish. Angela's going to run her mother's corporation. I intend to become a surgeon, and you, Alexandria, desired to perform one day in Carnegie Hall!"

"I know its quite the challenging goal to achieve. However, I've constantly dreamed of playing there. I've worked so hard since my early childhood to master the flute. I cannot visualize another calling outside of music," Alexandria replied as she glanced at her flute case.

"I'm confident with hard work and dedication. We can all achieve our career goals. Now that we've had our first cup of coffee? Do you want to discuss the other thing we've wanted to do for years?" Angela inquired, to which Alexandria grinned.

"I've got the designs right here!" reaching into her dark blue backpack. She withdrew a sketchbook. She rapidly flipped through it till she found what they were looking for. "I know we've promised to wait until we're in college. Nevertheless, I've worked on perfecting what we'd desired for our tattoo designs. But, our parents said we could only get them once we moved out. So," whirling the book around. "What do you think?"

One page had an intricate design of a dove within a bright pink rose heart. This was Angela's design. Doves are utilized in numerous settings to symbolize peace, freedom, love, or as messengers. Deep and hot pink roses convey appreciation, gratitude, and recognition.

Light pink roses are often associated with grace, gentleness, joy, and happiness. A rose tattoo itself? It signifies love won or lost. Beauty is in balance with emotion in this flower. The combination of these rose hearts often expresses passion and intense love. The rose is a blossom that symbolizes romance and friendship.

Now Rosemary had chosen the hearts that define the LGBTQ community. The rainbow one and the lesbian one. She wanted to show off her pride in being a community member and is not ashamed to admit it. It was long past the time for the world to wake up and realize community members weren't abominations.

Nor were they hurting anyone by being themselves. Get with the times' people! This isn't the biblical age anymore! The world's changed dramatically since then. And for any religious folk? Well, it's unquestionably stated God created us in His image. That he already knows who you are before you're born. And love isn't considered a sin, nor is being yourself.

Nothing to the Lord is queer as He loves all of us equally. He was the perfect father. Therefore it was humans who twisted his words of love around. Instead of embracing the truth that had been there since the beginning!

As for the youngest member of their trio? Alexandria had selected stylized musical notes, given her passion for music. They're several ways to exemplify music when it comes to tattoos. This includes instruments and musical notation.

These illustrations frequently characterize a musician's devotion and dedication to the production and creation of music. However, she desired them in bold colors, not black. She also valued doing art. Therefore, she wanted them to be multicolored to showcase that.

"I believe you've done a fabulous job with our tattoo designs. So now all we've to do is find out the expenses and set up an appointment," Angela said, gazing in awe at hers.

"Well, we'd least found a suitable location already. "Dreams and Themes" They've unbelievable artists, particularly one called Skyler! Outstanding prices and work! So it shouldn't be too long!" Rosemary reminded them cheerfully.

"Now, it shouldn't. However, we might want to postpone getting them until we're on our summer break. It takes a lot of time and effort to care for a tattoo. I already know you can't expose it to chlorine or direct sunlight for the first month," Angela pointed out based on her research.

When it came to getting their tattoos? They'd done endless hours of research for every aspect of the subject. They'd also waited this long to be confident this was what they truly wanted. So waiting a few more months wasn't going to hurt any of them.

"Well, saving enough for the tattoos will still take time. So if we've to wait till next summer? So be it!" Alexandria stated boldly as she finished her coffee.

"Agreed," the other friends replied. They chatted for a few more minutes about what they thought their first day of college would be like. Then paid the check and hopped in a taxi. It'd been a truly delightful day for coffee.

"Don't feel any shame or embarrassment when things go wrong. When you do something out of the kindness and love of your heart?

That's nothing to be ashamed of! On the contrary, it's a mark of pride and love! So don't feel bad about it!"
