Unbeknownst to Angela and her companions at the time? The male trio was on the other side of the cafe, having their first cup of coffee. So both Angela and Alexandria's sweethearts were on the other side.
In the back corner sat three young men. They're good-looking enough, that was for sure. The tallest had long platinum hair in a ponytail wearing the classic badass biker look. Another male wore attire that slimmed him down. He'd neatly combed back his thick sandy hair, and his startling aqua-colored eyes shimmered brilliantly.
The final one barely reached five feet and had short chocolate-brown hair and eyes. He was dressed the most causal out of the three young lads. He held a small iPad that he was fooling around with while they waited for their coffee.
"So Jeff, how are things going at the repair shop?" the stout blond questioned his long-haired friend. His friend brushed a stray lock out of his face before answering.
"Dad's car shop is doing excellent! I hope I'll achieve my goal of developing carbon-free vehicles! We all got to fight climate change! Do you think the barista will be here with our coffee shortly?"
"I wouldn't fret too much," the short male chimed without looking up from his iPad. "It's the afternoon rush, remember? Look, I apologize for making us run late. However, I couldn't leave Liz hanging! She genuinely needed help packing her boxes to move into her new apartment!"
"You and your gaming friends, Lex! Are you sure Lexi doesn't mind?" Jeff asked to which Lex blushed crimson
"Alexandria is my girlfriend! Liz is merely my friend when it comes to technological material. We've all gone to the same private school since kindergarten! So, of course, Liz and Alexandria know each other!" the short youth exclaimed heatedly.
"You know Jeff is just teasing you, Lex," his friend Bill calmly informed as their requested coffees arrived. Lex sighed before replying, "I know, Bill, yet please don't bully me! I endured enough teasing growing up for being bisexual. So let's enjoy our coffee?"
"Sure, Lex," as they enjoyed their caramel lattes. "Sure, Lex," as they enjoyed their caramel lattes and drank silently.
After a few moments, Bill resumed the conversation. He started chatting about how he couldn't wait to open his own restaurant after completing culinary school. They teased him that he was like Tiana from "The Princess and the Frog."
Jeff chuckled, "One is never too old for Disney," as he paused to savory his latte. Then turned to Lex," So, Lex? What kind of video games do you and Liz intend to invent once you complete your education?"
We've been thinking about it. She's better at coming up with narratives and character development. I'm more of the graphics and rules guy. We'll do an outstanding job once we've gotten through school. Then we can start our video game franchise!
"Well, kudos to you for having the guts it will take to achieve that goal. So, how are your two significant others?" Jeff inquired as he nibbled on a jelly doughnut.
"Angela is fine. She recently told me that she's quite satisfied her parents managed to work together to find her a place to live."
"That can't have been easy," Lex replied, looking up from his iPad. "Everyone knows her mother is a bit of a bitch," Bill scowled. "Hey! I'm only being honest! After all, we've known her as long as we've known Angela and friends!" Lex defended himself.
Bill stopped scowling before calmly replying, "Well, Angela told me on our last date that her mother made remarkable progress in therapy. Therefore, her anger issues have lessened some."
"That's nice to hear. However, I suspect her mother is still a cutthroat businesswoman. What about you, Lex? How Lexi?" Jeff questioned curiously, to which the young man smiled happily before answering.
"She was thrilled to have been accepted into Julliard! She's been dreaming of attending that school her entire life. So, I'm quite delighted for her," he paused to sip his beverage. "What about your girlfriend, Sata? What's she up to?"
Lex and Bill were often curious regarding Jeff's girlfriend, Sata, since she didn't hang out generally with the other girls. Not that they weren't friends. But mainly, it was a cultural difference that divided them at times.
"My captivating girlfriend won't be back until Saturday. She's visiting family in her native Japan. However, she's already in college here in the city. Her parents honestly desired her to study back in their homeland. Yet, she didn't want to leave me lonely for months. So I'm happy about that."
"She still quite devoted to her cultural heritage, is she not?" Bill asked to which Jeff nodded, thinking of his exotic girlfriend.
"Yep, most of her family still lives there. But, again, she only grew up here in the States due to her father's job. However, she holds dual citizenship in both countries. Which is fortunate for her."
"I'm sure it is, Jeff. Anyway, we should get going. We still haven't finished unpacking our stuff. Since we agreed to be roommates, our apartment must be completed before school starts."
"Agreed. We may have got the same living arrangements as the girls do. You know, with our parents helping us out with bills. However, they did make it clear we need to set up our own home. So let's get to it!" Lex encouraged. So they paid the check and took the next taxi back to their new bachelor pad.
"A dream isn't selfish to have. But we must ensure we don't do selfish things to achieve it."
