Alright then, here's a full rundown on Mannerheim and the VVMC:

Mannerheim

Between Vale Proper (my nomen for Vale City) and the Island of Vytal, lies the city of Mannerheim. It is based on Konigsberg, Berlin, Hamburg, Moscow, Rome, and Washington DC. A city similar to Vale with nearly identical infrastructure, population, and fortifications, the difference between it and the latter is a matter of size and the number of religious and historical buildings that Mannerheim holds. There is also the matter of it being "Little Atlas" for its shifting focus on military matters.

When you enter the city gates, you will be greeted by light traffic, a field of apartments andd condominiums, and numerous trees, as well as old timey streetlamps and underground openings to subway stations. In the East facing the sea are its residential and industrial area with condos dotting the land, supplementing them are numerous parks and recreation sites, with the harbor nearby.

In the West are its commercial and entertainment areas and majority of its energy areas. In the South are its military bases and agricultural districts and the North houses its nature reserves and military training facilities. It's government and CCT are based in the center south, with many of the city's distinct personalities living there.

Culture and Society

Mannerheim is similar to Vale, only with a military culture to guard the country from all invaders. Like Vale, it is inspired by European (and some American) culture. Despite the similarities, Mannerheim and Vale often argue on the prospect of a standing army, with Vale insisting that they tone down their military budget.

The people here are very diverse, with a vibe similar to urban America in the 1980s. Faunus are widely accepted and the town offers a free healthcare and worker's injury payment, as well as subway system.

Vale Voluntary Militia Corps

The Vale Voluntary Militia Corps is an official military organization important to the defense of Vale's cities, towns, and the whole country itself.

The Vale Voluntary Militia Corps are Vale's military, at the will of the Council and the lands of Vale itself. Back then, the only way you could fight anything is if you became a Huntsman/Huntress and succeeded. Other ways was going to Atlas, but even then, Huntsmen were more preferential. The other profession was policing, and the only fighting there was either the regular lawbreaker, the odd White Fang soldier, some small Grimm and more likely a gang rival, since the police and the mayor would change loyalty to criminal organizations and the winner was the gang who paid the most.

At the end of the Faunus Rights revolution, a huge part of the embittered population of Vale rose up in arms under one Commodus Lee, against Council forces. , calling themselves the National People's Revolutionary Confederate Army, or the NPRC. Commodus was an experienced commander during the FRR, and wanted vengeance against the Council, for apparently subjecting the people to such a horrendous defeat coupled with a famine, not to mention victorious Faunus landowners keeping farms, estates, and steelworks. Thus the first Vale Civil War erupted, and soon enough, the revolutionaries were gaining more ground. but those forces loyal to the Council were losing badly, to the point where Vacuo and Menagerie, its greatest allies, had to evacuate several of Vale's council, gentry, , and the time they reached Mannerheim, the then capital of Vale itself, the true evil of Lee really set in. After subjecting the city to a long siege, they entered the city, and the most brutality and butchery Remnant had ever seen happened on those city streets. Many fled to Vacuo, Atlas, Mistral and Menagerie, many died escaping. The five months of rule under the NPRC was as brutal as North Korea today or Nazi Germany and Stalinist Eastern Europe in the 1920s-30s.

People were forced to salute the Confederate Party and Flag, a curfew was placed to ensure the quelling of disorder, and if you even showed a bit of disloyalty the People's State Police will deal with you in the worst way worst experience was if you were a Faunus, a critic of the Party, and a land owner. That would have your land confiscated and you and your family sent to a work camp.

However, a resistance was brewing in Vale's southern half... The man who led the known as Trajan Cedar, with the help of Ozma, escaped to the southern half of Vale, where five regiments of the old stood with him: Steppe Brigandines, the steadfast guardians of the highways, Nereus Musketeers, whose accuracy could snipe a foe from half the battlefield, Vigiles Viae, the scouts and cavalry of the resistance, Appian Motor Infantry, whose tanks provided difficult to endure, and the Hesperides Legions and Corinth Hoplites, the largest of the regiments soon forming the Vale Voluntary Militia Corps. Declaring war on the NPRC, the newly formed VVMC would wage unsuccessful guerilla after guerilla until the Battle of the Juno Belt, guarding Vale City itself where atritional warfare would soon set in, and the advantage of the resistance would rout Confederate forces back to Mannerheim, and win the capital, and most of Vale back, with a new, more attentive council at the helm. The Confederacy would still be a nuisance for the young Vale Federation, and soon enough, with the rise of hostilities perpetrated by the White Fang and it's capture of the main fort guarding the Juno Belt, gained its first military victories, both against human, Faunus, or Grimm targets. The VVMC would be a top notch military force strong enough to nearly match Atlas itself, usually deployed on non-huntsman missions, and would replace Atlas as the sole power when the technological juggernaut fell to the ground.

1. Shock Troops/ Infantry Corps

The largest militia in Remnant relies on masses of these troopers armed only with cheap but reliable weapons and ammunition and supported by hundreds of tanks and support walkers. VVMC Shock Troopers, commonly called Sturmkorps or Guardsmen/Guardesses, are sent by the thousands to secure reclaimed cities, defend against Grimm, and suppress uprisings, and most especially keep the People's Confederacy and Creatures of Grimm at bay.

All standard troopers are equipped with the Mark 183 battle rifle, an adaptable, cheap, and effective weapon which can use both regular and Dust ammo. The Mark 183 is based on the M16A1, with the handguard, barrel, stock, and front sights of the AK-47 and AK-74. It can be used as a sniper rifle, a DMR, a squad support weapon, etc.

Other weapons include the Mark 37 Light Machine Gun, based on the Soviet RPD, the MP-41 based on the US M3 Grease Gun, and the Mark 49 helical carbine, based on the E-11 of the Galactic Empire.

Armor Corps

While Atlas depends on bipedal mechs, the VVMC relies on mass produced tanks, APCs, and walkers for fire support, all out assaults, and Grimm suppression. Because of Vale's access to swathes of land, the Corps relies on Blitzkrieg style tactics and relies on masses of tanks and walkers. Usually, the tanks are often used as rolling firepower, while APCs and IFVs are used to ferry troops across dangerous terrain. Walkers are also utilized for intimidation tactics.

The standard main battle tank of the VVMC is the Mk. 466 Hussar. Also called the Longhorn, this tank is very similar to the US M46 Patton. However, the Hussar has two pairs of tracks, similar in configuration to the M808 Scorpion of Halo. It also has seven wheels (3 at the front tracks, 4 in the rear tracks with a compensating idler), a 4 man team, a 100mm gun, and weighs 49 tonnes full combat load.

It is supplemented by the Mk. 423 Dragoon medium tank, which resembles the M47 Patton, T-62, and Type 61 MBTs, used by reserve personnel and Marines, the Mk. 220 Newt, a 155mm howitzer resembling an M-109 but with an extended hull of the M113, and the Mk. 467 Hunting Panther, a tank destroyer similar to the Soviet ASU-85.

The M-226 is essentially a Valean M113 with the turret of a BMP-1 and can even be fitted with the C-3 50mm autocannon. It can transport 19 passengers all the while being covered in moderate armor. It is also used by Menagerie Guard thanks to their transport capability.

The SW-1 is based on the AT-ST bipedal walker. Carrying a 50mm autocannon, their job is reconnaissance and shock tactics.

It's bigger brother, the IHT, based on the AT-AT, has four legs and can carry 44 troopers into battle and function as a tank destroyer.

Naval Corps

The Naval Corps is the vanguard of the VVMC and consists of the Air Corps, the Navy, and Marines. Not only are they responsible for the transport of infantry, but are also used as force suppression, bombardment, etc. These primarily consist of "hoverships", named so because they can hover over the water.

They also do routine patrols over both terrestrial and maritime territory.

Leading the charge is the Mannerheim and Gneisenau class battlecruisers, the counter to Atlesian Schnee class battleships. With their heavy guns, thick armor, and surprisingly good mobility other ships allied with Vale will often radio one when attacked by Confederate fleets. The Mannerheim is based on the Soviet Kirov battlecruiser, and the Gneisenau is based off the Japanese Nagato and US Ticonderoga as well as the Terran Federation Roger Young class corvette transport.

Both classes of vessel are supplemented by swarms of Thunderbolt heavy bombers, Bayern class destroyers, and Eagle-class landing frigates, as well as the mighty Essex class hovercarriers, based on the US Forrestal class of CVs, each carrying squadrons of DSU-203 Flotsam and later DSU-16 fighters.

The Air Corps is a branch of the Naval Corps and directs air security and precision bombing as well as invasion spearheads. It is also charged with the upkeep, service, and operation of Vale's Essex class carriers.

The DSU-203 is Vale's air superiority fighter, attack aircraft, and interceptor. Nicknamed the Flotsam, it is a very fast, versatile, and cheap aircraft built for swift fights. However, it is beginning to show its age against newer fighters. Despite this, it is a popular fighter and is used from Vacuo to Menagerie. Ozpin has even wished to purchase one for his own use.

Its replacement, the DSU-16 is a new breed of fighter, and is made to replace the Flotsam at a later date.

In short, the VVMC is nothing you would call a militia. It is the armed forces of the continent of Sanus and later Menagerie, with hundreds of soldiers willing to die for its cause.

Meanwhile, in Beacon...

Pyrrha was looking at the moon, often remembering the times when it was her and Jaune on that very place. Ruby and Yang went close to her, knowing her distraught expression.

"I just hope Jaune's OK. He hasn't spoken to us in days."

"Same, Pyrrha. I just hope he's OK."

"Yeah... It's just not like him." Yang reassured them. "But I'm sure he'll be fine...I guess."

The blonde berserker turned around and suddenly, she saw her uncle Qrow!

"Surprise, Firecracker." the dusty old Huntsman said calmly.

"Uncle Qrow, don't do that! You'll make that Beowolf in the clearing trip over a log!"

What Yang said actually came true, as a large Beowolf was stalking the grounds, unsuspecting of the log it was about to fall over, and tripped.

"You see? Don't pop out like that from nowhere!" she continued.

"Pop out of where? I was here five minutes earlier." Qrow corrected. "Anyways, hey redhead," he spoke to Pyrrha. "Your boyfriend's in Mannerheim."

"Mannerheim?" Pyrrha asked, "But Mannerheim doesn't have a combat schoo-"

"I'm not done yet," Qrow stopped her. "Specifically, he's in the VVMC. You know, boot camp."

"WHAT?!" the three girls exclaimed.

"Yep, I'm sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but he's in the Corps."

"He's gonna get creamed!" Ruby cried.

"He's doing fine." Qrow replied

"But what about senseless war, mindless obedience, and utter brutality that man has tried to unsee? Jaune's gonna die! I mean that guy might be just as good as us but seriously, that guy is screwed there, never mind being deployed!" Yang put in.

"At least he is doing something useful." a voice said with a smug tone.

"Shut it, Weiss!" Yang fired back.

"Cope, seethe, mald." the Ice Queen replied.

"Ah yes, the VVMC."

"Well well well. If it isn't little Ozzie." Qrow said as Ozpin walked into the balcony. "By the way, the parade in Mannerheim is coming up."

"Yes, I know, Qrow. I am invited there. Speaking of which, would you like to come with me? We might see Jaune again."

"REALLY? See Jaune again? This is fantastic! Ren, do you hear that? We're going to see our (former) leader again!" Nora screamed as she dragged Ren into the balcony.

"Alright then, Nora. But I'm not too sure meeting Jaune this early is a good idea." Ren said in return.

"I agree with Ren." a girl with an outfit with shades of blue and dark complexion said. "It might cause a great misunderstanding."

"Oh, don't be such a square, Ciel!" Nora chimed.

"So, RWBY and PNCR," Ozpin said. "Prepare your luggage. You're going in a week. Anyone else?"

"We'll go too." Yatsuhashi said. I'm going to visit my friend living there. Unlike Coco, here," he said, lightly poking the fashionista, "who just likes to flirt with the ladies."

"Hey!" Coco Adel replied. "F.Y.I., the drum majorettes are pretty cute."

"Alright then." Ozpin finished. "So it's official. Teams RWBY, PNCR, and CFVY are going to Mannerheim!"

This is the longest one (so far, so good.) Hope you enjoy this little info-dump. Please give me some notes if you think I'm missing something.
