AN: This isn't the same Nanno from Girl from Nowhere but is based on her. As this Nanno is a mancer but I won't spoil what kind.
It was like any other day on Insulam, here the older Luxomancer (Arnell) was laying down in his cellar after drinking more than usual.
His long white tunic with gold horizontal stripes was stained with vomit, and alcohol.
Of course, he reeked of alcohol, vomit, and smokeleaf.
Arnell was waking up, with his head aching like a whirlwind in his brain thanks to his hangover.
Thinking he was dreaming, a young woman was looking at him directly while he was waking. However, this woman wasn't a dream nor was she someone from his past when he was in his 20s.
Arnell, coming to some of his senses finally noticed the young woman, freaking out about how she got into his cellar. As he swore he had locked it.
'What the fuck?! H-How did you get in here? Who the fuck are you?!' He shouted, cursing his backside off as he was being a bum as usual.
The young woman looked at him, tilting her head to the side.
It was dark in his cellar at this moment, but Arnell was able to make out a face and he knew he's never seen this face before in his life.
Arnell makes a ball of light using his mancy that was based with light (luxomancy). Making out the face that he was seeing in the dark.
She was a pale-skinned young shijonian woman, with long straight black hair with straight bangs, a heart-shaped face, round-looking brown eyes, with a beauty mark on her left cheek.
Her clothes were flowing and loose, as it showed she had a rather skinny physique.
'Answer me dammit!' Arnell shouted, as he didn't remember this young woman's face and didn't know how she could have gotten in.
'Why the fuck are you in here?' Arnell asked and demanded.
The young woman fidgets with her hair and looks at Arnell, with an expression that hadn't changed one bit.
'Do you not recognize your own daughter? Your adopted daughter?' She asks him, as Arnell blinks with confusion and gets up from his messy futon he passed out on while he was drunk.
He walks over to the young woman, dragging her out of his cellar, and sits her down on the stairs that led to the bar.
The island of Insulam was quite tropical, and the area they were in was something that was a tropical-looking port, with a bar on top of the rocks, with the manor being at the edge of the docks right on the beach.
The young woman looks up at Arnell and Arnell looked at her with confusion.
From the way she looks, there was no way this woman was his biological daughter as she looks nothing like any of his previous lovers. She claimed she was adopted, however, Arnell had just noticed he forgot to ask her name.
Well, this was normal for Arnell after a hangover from smokeleaf and alcohol.
'Wait, I forgot to ask your name.' Arnell says, realizing he forgot to ask that to see if she was really his daughter as a name would probably refresh his memory with his very bad hangover.
'I'm Nanno' The young woman answers, as it dawned on Arnell that she was indeed his adopted daughter but the latest adoption he had made recently while in a drunken state and didn't realize it until now.
However, he wanted her to be his adopted daughter but the reason was forgotten with this hangover of his.
What he did know, however, he met Nanno because he saw her swimming in the ocean while he was fishing at sea. She asked for his help so he helped her, then she helped him catch a lot of fish that the boat nearly tipped over, and she became the new merchant in The Ludwagian Merchant Guild.
'Wait, how are you my adopted daughter?' Arnell asks as he was trying to remember how she was his daughter.
'You were intoxicated at your bar and were discussing about adopting me. I liked the idea over marrying Alexios (Burny Man) because I made him feel uncomfortable while he was around me. Long story short, you drank too much that you told Sara and I that you were going to sleep. So you went into your cellar and didn't come out.' Nanno explained as she added more to the story.
'While you were drunk, you adopted me and said that if I wanted to take your name; I'd have to be your daughter.'
The situation was confusing for Arnell, but now it made sense how she was his daughter. He wanted her to be his daughter-in-law, but his other children were uncomfortable around her, one of his adopted sons insulted her name, and the idea of marriage to her sounded like a bad idea.
However, Nanno seemed to be very calm and what made Arnell not worry as much was she got along with his late apprentice, Sara LightGuard.
Sara knew there was something about Nanno, but couldn't put her finger on it.
However, what everyone knew was that Nanno was no doubt a mancer and surprised Arnell that she was an Expert Mancer.
There was also proof of it too since she used her mancy to make not only her hands glow but also played with it in front of them.
Arnell assumed Nanno was a Luxomancer, but Nanno denies it saying her mancy is in the School of Animo. Which also made sense.
Nanno wouldn't have been the first Psychomancer and she wouldn't be the last in The Guild either.
It was impressive how she was able to perform these actions in front of Arnell and 9 other people, which wasn't so impressive as she was an Expert.
However, Nanno never claimed to actually be a psychomancer but claimed to have a mancy in the School of Animo.
There was only one mancy in the School of Animo, everyone said, think again.
