Barbara's wedding was an exciting event filled with love and excitement. Mia sat beside the Turners.

Mia hated making a fuss about things. Weddings were her least favourite things. She could never wear a pretty dress like the other girls her age. René was the same age as her but they led completely different lives.

René wore the prettiest dress in baby blue with gorgeous heels and a lovely hat. Whereas Mia wore her Sister's uniform. It usually brought her great comfort it made her irritated that day.

Tim was looking dapper in his suit. Almost too handsome. Mia couldn't show how much she loved him at the wedding or during the ceremony so they waited until after the ceremony. They snuck out of Nonnatus house and around the back near the bike sheds.

"Have you spoken to your mum yet?" Tim asked resting his hands on her hips. "I can only hide my feelings for you for so long!"

"I'm going to speak to her tomorrow. If you'd like to come. It's Saturday tomorrow?" Mia asked. "I want to tell everyone about you!"

"Of course, I'll come my love!" Tim replied kissing her cheek before bidding her goodnight. He turned back to face her. "Think of me?"

"Always!" Mia replied

That morning it was Timothy who joined the Nonnatuns for breakfast. Mia asked to speak with her mum in her office. Sister Julienne nodded and sat in her office in front of Timothy and her daughter who was looking equally as guilty.

"I already know what you want to speak to me about just by your expressions and how distant you have both been recently!" Sister Julienne told the young teens. Mia let out a breath you didn't know she was holding. "You know how wrong your actions were don't you?"

They both nodded in shame but then Mia's curiosity was peaked.

"How did you know, we were so careful?" Mia asked.

"You seem to have forgotten that as nurses and midwives we are very observant. And it is rather obvious what you two have been up to. However it was Sister Evangelina that mentioned it," Sister Julienne informed her daughter. She reached across the table and took her daughter's hand. "Mia this is your choice. There is something that can be done- I spoke to Mother Jesu-Emmanuel."

"And what is that?" Mia asked.

"May keep your religious title and privileges but some of your vows would be denounced. Such as only being married to god and not having children. You would still be allowed to were a habit and wimple if you wish but it would no longer be compulsory!" Sister Julienne explained. Mia nodded eagerly. "Is that what you wish to do?"

"Yes!" Mia exclaimed loudly.

It was quite a surprise for everyone when they saw Mia in normal clothes. Sister Julienne then informed them of Mia's choice and the reason and everyone was fairly respectful.

It was later in the evening when Mia was sitting in the kitchen she was aware of someone else's presence.

"Nana?" Mia asked Turing around to face Sister Evangelina who smiled at her. "Come sit with me. Now, what's bothering you?"

"I'm just happy that you are finally happy. You weren't complete whilst you were a Sister and now you are!" Sister Evangelina told Mia. Mia sipped her coffee thoughtfully. "Mia, what are you thinking about?"

"About life and how different it is for me and Rene, she is such a privileged girl with her whole life ahead of her. I have no plans for the future, nothing to look forward to!" Mia replied feeling slightly exasperated.

"You have everything to look forward to in your life now you have Timothy Turner," Sister Evangelina replied.

"Do you approve of him and I?" Mia asked her voice laced with uncertainties.

"I delivered the boy. He is well-mannered and highly respectable with many prospects. I couldn't have picked a finer man for you myself!" Sister Evangelina explained to the girl who might as well have been her granddaughter.

And with her nana's approval, Mia could settle. She knew she had made the right choice.
