Just between Season 10 and 11. About March time.

Wedding is set just before Season 11 Episode 1.

3 years had passed. Mia and Tim were 20. Well Mia was nearly 20. Tim was away at Medical School which made Mia feel really sad because he was going to be away for her birthday. Or that's what Mia thought. Tim was home for Mia's birthday. It was a trip organised by Mia's mum and Shelagh. Mia had moped for weeks when she had realised Tim would miss her birthday. That feeing was only worsened when she had realised they would have another 2 like that. They shared phone calls but that was it.

Mia threw herself into work so she didn't have to think about it. They hadn't really considered how difficult it would be for there relationship when Tim went to University. Everyone was too happy about the news. But he was in Edinburgh and she was in Poplar. He was over 7 hours away from her.

As her birthday neared Mia hardly stopped working. She didn't eat or sleep. She was working for 48 hours at a time with half an hour break. If she wasn't on the district round or on the Maternity round she was working on call and at the maternity home.

Mia was rather unaware of her surprise party or of Tim's arrival. Or what Tim was planning.

"Mia darlin?" Valerie asked pushing Mia's door open. Mia was sat in her room at Nonnatus at her desk reading what looked like a book of scriptures. "Get ready!"

"What for?" Mia asked turning around to look at Valerie in annoyance. Mia hated being interrupted whilst reading. It was one of the only things that brought her peace other than prayer. But not even prayer seemed to help her recently. "I have reading to do!"

"Yes and me and the girls are taking you out, you are no sitting in here and moping any longer. Now put on your best dress and Trixie will come and do your hair and make up. And happy birthday!" Valerie said patting Mia on the shoulder.

Mia looked at her surprised and then looked at the calendar. Valerie was right it was her birthday and somehow Mia had forgotten her own birthday. Mia flicked through her clothes but couldn't find anything that was good enough for a night out. Trixie came bustling in with a beautiful dress and hair and make up stuff. It was a light blue dress with a cinched waistline. It fell just above the knee. Trixie helped the young girl into her dress.

She brushed over Mia's face before pulling her hair up into an intricate up for.

"You look gorgeous!" Trixie exclaimed pulling Mia into a hug.Trixie offered Mia her arm and they walked down the stairs. Matthew was waiting outside in one of his father's expensive cars.

"After you," Matthew said helping Mia into the car before helping Trixie into the passenger side. Matthew got in the car and drove to the institute where the youth club was held and where they also held the Tuesday clinic. Matthew climbed out and helped Mia and Trixie out of the car. Trixie covered Mia's eyes.

"What is going on?" Mia asked intrigued. "Trixie?"

"Shush and wait!" Trixie whispered in Mia's ear reassuring her slightly. Mia heard a pair of doors open then another. "Ready?"

"I think so!" Mia replied. Trixie removed her hands from Mia's eyes and Mia gasped.

Everyone from Nonnatus, all the Turners loads of Mia's friends and members of the community were all gathered in the Iris Knight Institute. But Mia didn't care about anyone except for the the person directly in front of her.

A tear rolled down her cheek followed by another. Tim wrapped his arms around his sobbing girlfriend. "Hello darling!"

Mia looked at him before she spoke,"Tim what are you doing here?"

"I found out that you were upset darling, because I was going to miss your birthday, I love you enough to travel. I have this weekend away. I must return on Sunday but we have 3 days. So let's enjoy it. Mum the music please!"

Shelagh turned some music and Tim swept Mia into his arms. She rested her head on his shoulder as he led her around the floor of the Institute. Everyone else joined them on the floor, partnered up with a loved one or a friend. As Tim spun Mia he let go of her and she spun joyously. When she stopped Tim wasn't there.

When she turned around he was down on one knee and everyone was stood on either side of him forming an isle. Tim opened a ring box and Mia looked at the diamond ring that it held. Tears sprung to her eyes.

"This love is something magical and different. Ive loved you since the day we met as babies. The love I felt for you as a child was to clouded over my immaturity and grief for my mother. I fell hard for you when I knew you had chosen to become a sister, it broke my heart because I knew I had lost my chance with you. I broke every rule when I kissed you whilst my mum was ill and in the hospital. And then we were falling in love harder until it became unbearable until we were doing things we shouldn't behind closed doors. I don't regret it at all because we are here now. And I'm asking you this in front of everyone. I want you forever. I never want us to be apart again. Allow me the honour of becoming my wife. Marry Mia Julienne?" Tim asked. Mia nodded and let him slip the gorgeous diamond ring on her finger. He kissed her hard on the lips and spun her around until her skirts flared about her waist.

"Sister Mia!" Sister Evangelina yelled. Mia blushed and gestured for her now fiancé to put her safely on the floor.

Mia and Tim got married a two days into the Easter holidays. Just before Easter Sunday.

Mia was sat in her room at Nonnatus house staring out the window onto the street below. It was her wedding day yet she was making no attempt to get ready. She heard the door open then close followed by a flurry of numerous pairs of feet. Mia turned around to see all the young nurses and all the Sisters gathered around the other side of her bed.

"Where's Shelagh?" Mia asked looking for her soon to be mother in law.

"She's fetching your dress sweetie, now let's get you ready!" Trixie exclaimed.

Half and hour later Mia was being helped into Shelagh's wedding dress. Shelagh was honoured that Mia wanted to wear it.

Now with Shelagh, Sister Hilda and Sister Julienne there, Mia prepared to ask the question that had been looming large on her mind for over an hour.

"Now you'll all know that I never choose someone to walk me down the isle because I have no father to do it. I asked my mum but she has refused. So I would like to ask you Sister Hilda, to walk me down the isle," Mia suggested.

"Oh my darling I can't!" Sister Hilda insisted. "I'm not family!"

"You are like an aunt to me. You have helped me through many of life's trials and I'm sure you will continue to do so, I love you like family. I wouldn't ask if I didn't think you should do it. Please?" Mia asked.ll

"Ok my darling," Sister Hilda said grasping Mia's hands in her own.

"You look stunning!" Patrick said. "I couldn't take my eyes off Shelagh when she walked down the isle to me in that, you remember?"

"You were so in love then," Mia concluded.

"As you and Tim are now, you are perfect for each other me and Shelagh knew that years ago but we didn't say we wanted you realise it for yourself!" Patrick told Mia. "Cherish this, it's the most amazing feeling!"

"I will!" Mia replied with a grin.

"Hello Mrs Turner, enjoying yourself sweetheart?" Tim asked his wife who was smiling excitedly.

"I would do this forever if I could, it's so sweet and romantic. It's all so perfectly planned. I'm glad your mum and Sister Hilda planned it!" Mia admits with a smile as Tim spun her around. "And you look really dapper in that suit!"

"And you look positively beautiful. I can't say the same for your dress!" Tim muttered. Mia frowned.

"Whatever do you mean?" Mia asked.

"There are far to many buttons. They will take forever to undo!" Tim whispered referring to how he would rather not spend their wedding night undoing buttons.

Mia felt heat rise up her neck and directly to her cheeks.

Mia led her back bend as Tim allowed her to dip before he let her go to dance with his mother.

Mia sat down at the top table and took her flute of champagne tightly in hand. As she looked across the dance floor she had a sense of longing for the mother she had never met. Her family were somewhere but she only wanted to meet them when there was a special occasion so she would let it fade as she always did.

As she glanced at her ring hand to see the three rings that resided there she was reminded of the family she had. And of the perfect union she was part of. Did she regret anything.

Maybe.

Maybe not.

She didn't know.

But it didn't matter. Because she knew one thing for sure. She was deeply in love and had everything to live for.
