4 years later

Mia was sat at home with her siblings in law. It was Tim's final day as a student Doctor at the London. The following day he would be a GP like his father working at the same surgery.

May and Angela were at the local Grammar School and Teddy was in is penultimate year at Primary School.

Mia was 25 and a brilliant nurse. She was now one of the best midwife's in England and had spoken to the BBC on numerous occasions.

Now Mia was keeping a secret from everyone on behalf of her mother in law. Mia had been the one to confirm the problem. It had been so unlikely due to Shelagh's age but no one was going to argue with the blessings that the God Lord had decided to give her.

So that's how Mia was in the living room letting out her mother in laws best dress for the party the women had organised. Mia hadn't started getting ready yet. They had booked a table at one of the fancier restaurants so they would have privacy for the massive get together. So many people were set to arrive.

"Is that loose enough?" Mia asked from her place on her knees. "I'm going to bring the hem down and then alter your bust area, then I'll start to do May and Angie's, they've grown quite a lot since they wore these!"

Mia held up some purple dresses that they hadn't worn since they had attended Trixie's wedding the previous year.

Mia heard the front door close and Mia stood up to continue her adjustments to Shelagh's grey dress.

"Hello darling!" Patrick exclaimed kissing his wife on the cheek. He kissed Mia on the cheek as well. "What's all this for, does your not fit anymore?"

"I seemed to have grown quite a lot around my busy and my hips recently, I must lay off the pink wafers!" Shelagh said jokingly. Mia poked her gently in the hip and gave her a pointed look.

"I think that's all done Ma!" Mia exclaimed smiling at her hand work.

Mia had began to call Shelagh Ma or Mama just after Tim had returned to University 4 years ago after the train accident. It made her feel closer to her parents in law. She just called Patrick dad because she had never called anyone else dad before so it didn't seem rude.

"Come on girls but on your dresses and hurry up so I can get ready for when your brother comes back. Dad put on your suit!" Mia instructed.

"We really don't need to make this sort of fuss Tim won't be bothered!" Patrick replied going upstairs to change.

"It's not every day our son will become an official doctor Patrick!" Shelagh corrected swaying slightly. "Oh!"

"Ma Ma sit down please, I will fetch your coat and shoes, girls hurry up please!" Mia muttered going to fetch Shelagh's coat and shoes. She handed them to her mother in law before making quick work of May and Angela's dresses.

Patrick's suit was actually fine so Mia had chance to get ready. She pulled on one of her red dresses. She looked at herself in the mirror and remembered the original purpose for this dress.

It was the her going away dress. The dress she had worn for her honeymoon. She knew Tim loved it because it had a tendency to come off quickly as soon as they got home. She put on her heels and applied some pan-stick. She heard the front door open by the cheers of her parents in law. She rushed down the stairs straight into Tim's awaiting arms.

"Hello sweetie!" Tim whispered. "I've finished at the hospital for well hopefully forever!"

"Yes!"

"You're wearing that dress," Timothy said raising his eyebrows suggestively at his wife who smirked.

"I know, I wonder how long it will stay on this evening," Mia smirked as she spoke.

"Oh not very long I can promise you that!" Tim whispered.

"We really need to consider buying our own house, if we're going to be getting up to the things I think we are. What if your parents hear!" Mia said blushing at the horrific thought of her parents in law hearing them in the midst of marital relations.

"All the fun darling!" Tim whispered making Mia bury her head in his shoulder.

Mia turned to face Shelagh who was looking at her as if to say "Now or later?" Mia nodded signalling for her to get it over and done with.

"I have an announcement to make. We have been blessed with many miracles in our lives. I was blessed with love, my sons recovery from polio, Angela's adoption. Teddy's birth, May and a few years ago a daughter in law. After being so lucky I didn't really ask anything of the almighty because I had everything I could ever want but he has more recently decided that we are to be blessed with another life in about 7 months time!" Shelagh announced to her friends and family.

Everyone was silent for a moment before she was showered in congratulations.

Patrick who was yet to be told of the news was sat there in shock.

"Dad?" Mia asked. "You ok?"

"I've never been better!" Patrick replied breaking into the biggest grin and pulling his wife into him. "I'm going to be a father everyone I'm going to be a father again!"

Mia picked up her champagne flute.

"To the new doctor and a new addition!" Mia toasted them both. Mia took a swing of her drink and smiled lovingly at her family.

"I can't believe your moving out!" Shelagh said tearfully nearly a month and a half later. Mia smiled reassuringly at her.

"We could hardly say no, the house is 5 bedrooms, it's gorgeous there aren't many 5 bedroom properties at the price we got it mum. Don't worry you'll see us all the time. You can't keep Mia away you should know that!" Tim explained to his mum. "It's within walking distance from here!"

"I promise you mam, we'll come see you," Mia told her mother in law. She hugged her goodbye and she took Tim's hand.

This was there new beginning.
