A/N: For months I have dreamed of making this fanfiction, and I intend to make it with passion. I have been inspired by many stories of Batman and Darth Vader. A thought came in my head of what if Bruce Wayne was in a Star Wars Universe, prophesied to bring peace to the Multiverse as the Chosen One.
And so ideas came, and it grew as I watched the Marvel movies, the TV-shows, the DC shows and movies, especially the comics that had existed for decades. I'm not sure if you like my idea of a Batman in a Star Wars Universe, but I like it.
This fanfic story will focus on Bruce Wayne's journey to be the Chosen One as he goes through his struggles in his life, his frustrations with new threats coming out of the blue, the experiences of tragedy he is bound to have, his attachments to the people he loves and cares about, his eventual fall to the Dark Side, and many more that will eventually lead him to be the Chosen One.
I hope you enjoy this story as I have released the first chapter of this story.
Corruption. Everywhere he goes, there is corruption, not a shimmering good left in here, or there. He's only a boy, and he is forced to perceive the evil inside everyone. They greedy, the powerful, the evil, they would use their unlimited power to gain their imaginable desires as though their minds, a sketch, can generate new things to life before them. They laugh, they eat, they siphon the energy of their slaves for their benefits. Men, women and children suffer day by day. In his case, he lost his parents, and unfortunately it was his first ever time to experience tragedy. He's beginning to wonder if this is how every child experiences tragedy, losing their parents.
The sun burned down out of a cloudless blue sky, washing the vast desert wastes of the planet in brilliant white light.
The boy took numerous steps across the steep-pathed sand, tirelessly, and without sleep. Through the stone arch he passed with no fear, and no hesitation. The years of experiencing worst things has augmented Bruce's insusceptibility to fear. He has made the entry to a village. It's just as worse as the previous village he visited. The previous village was filled with gambling and sex. Compared to this village, Bruce's visit to this place is very, very unfortunate.
Inside this village, lots of fighting with bets being made. Bleeding, bruises and fractured bones. That's all these mindless, horrid sadists understand. They consider the weaker ones as prey, like the droids. In his sight, a sodden, moth-eaten figure on her knees begging to be free while a rogue android appears in front of her ready to spring violence. Androids are cold, they have no heart, and lack sympathy for anyone. He wasn't just going to let her suffer for something she did not do. So, he got involved.
In a galaxy far, far, away, through the vast sea of stars, a small Republic cruiser has just made it into hyperspace, leaving a planet that they've been forced to bring along a person with them. They did not wish to bring someone with them, but part of getting involved in mission is following the person's request if he or she has assigned that mission. They were reluctant, but in the end they followed.
"We're on route to Tatooine.", one of the two men inside that spoke.
Worried filled the bridge as everyone inside knew what kind of place Tatooine is.
"Forget the mission, any step there we are forced to deal with Jabba and his personal bounty hunters. The Jedi have avoided taking any serious conflict with the Hutts for centuries because of the dangers these Hutts pose to the Universe.", a young Force-wielder said.
"Padawan Kenobi, you have a lot to learn about bravery. Part of being a Jedi is taking risks, and doing the job without hesitation.", the master said.
"Master Qui-Gon, with all due respect, we are rescuing a little boy who may cause us even more problems considering our ongoing war with Apokolips and the Omega Lords. We might now know if Apokolips has set for us a trap. Plus, what if the boy is actually dead. No one has seen him for three years.", Padawan Kenobi said.
"He's not dead."
A presence of a female's voice alerted Qui-Gon and Padawan Kenobi. They saw a deathly-serious expression.
The expression silenced Padawan Kenobi.
"Forgive Padawan Kenobi for his impulsive behaviour, he is thinking about bigger things to deal with such as Apokolips and New Genesis continuously locked in war that spreads over planets.", Qui-Gon said.
"I am aware of the current situation, but you must realise Padawan Kenobi the importance of this boy, son of Martha Wayne, son of Thomas Wayne, the hope of the future. The Galactic Republic believes they have lost their greatest assets, and predict this will be their eventual defeat despite the existence of the Jedi Knights. If we discover Bruce Wayne is alive, that could give the Galactic Republic some hope.", the girl said.
"From experience Queen Chronoa, not everyone desires to follow in their parents' footsteps, so you can hold on to your beliefs regarding the boy until we see what his future is.", Kenobi said.
"You don't believe in prophecies, Padawan Kenobi?", Queen Chronoa questioned him.
Kenobi did not want to respond to it. It's one of the things he failed to understand with Qui-Gon when he contemplates on prophecies.
"Stressed by the war, and many things happening simultaneously in the dark days of the Republic, no I don't believe in prophecies.", Padawan Kenobi said. "I do not understand why prophecies are all we think about when we know hope is gone, lost in a labyrinth of time.".
"I thought Jedi are supposed to show high moral standards. Patience is among the virtues a Jedi has to follow, is it not?", Queen Chronoa said.
Padawan Kenobi did not bother arguing anymore. He kept quiet, instead accepting Queen Chronoa's point, which is unfortunate. To accept the prophecy is in need of patience. If he doesn't accept the prophecy, he has no patience. All his life, he wanted to stick to a Jedi's high moral standards. Whoever this boy is, Kenobi hopes he does not cause more trouble for them.
With hyperspace, the small cruises arrived in the Tatoo system, where it contained the planet Tatooine. It's a desert world. Civilisation isn't at its peak compared to other planets such as Coruscant. In there, it's only the dune sea that swallows everything, the influence of one of the most powerful kingpin in the galaxy, the bounty hunters, and the various inhabitants acting as slaves. The Jedi have never came to this planet for a long time. There was no big crisis that would convince them to come here. No crisis now, although the boy is what drags them to submerge in the dune sea.
The ship landed in the outskirts of a village. The Jedi and the Queen intend to hide themselves from being sighted in case there ever is a skirmish. Robes are covering them, to conceal their identities.
When they arrived in the village, no fighting needed or no stealth needed was straight away their first thoughts. Numerous bounty hunters lying on the floor, perpetual, and unconscious as though they were attacked by fear.
"What happened here?", Padawan Kenobi exclaimed. If he is correct, these are Jabba's bounty hunters. To see them all lying around, weak to move a muscle totally shocks him. The Jedi have obviously encountered bounty hunters, but not many could produce a result involving taking down so many bounty hunters.
Qui-Gon leans toward one of the bounty hunters, checking them. "They are still alive. A few concussions. Aside from that, they aren't dead. Whoever took these bounty hunters down must really has a strong moral compass to never take a life.", Qui-Gon said.
"What kind of person could be able to defeat this many bounty hunters, and leave them alive?", Padawan Kenobi said.
"Whoever it is, we are bound to find out who.", Queen Chronoa said, stepping close to a bounty hunter. "So, these are Jabba's bounty hunters, right?".
"Undoubtedly yes", Padawan Kenobi answered.
"Then our first stop is-"
"Jabba's palace.", Padawan Kenobi said, knowing what Queen Chronoa was about to say.
The three step away from the unconscious bounty hunters as they proceed to head to Jabba's palace.
Without the sudden drop of worry, the Jedi Padawan, the Jedi Master, and the Queen arrived at Jabba's palace. Much to their shock, even the guards have been taken down. Whoever defeated green-skinned bulky creatures saved the Jedi the trouble of having to fight them in order to get inside the palace. Faces between the door are thinly spaced out, the entrance is slightly open.
Danger the Jedi sense within the palace.
"I'd advise you stay here, Queen Chronoa. We do not know if it's a friend or a foe. Not many sentients in the Universe are either a friend of the Hutts or the Republic.", Qui-Gon said.
"That won't be necessary, Master Qui-Gon.", Queen Chronoa said gently while moving past the Jedi. "If you please don't mind, I will go wherever I go as I please.".
"Are you certain it was the right choice to make bringing the Queen to a desert world?", Padawan Kenobi said.
Qui-Gon ignored him, and resumed his movement, entering Jabba's palace.
The padawan was the last person entering the palace.
They strode into the arching hallway.
They were amazed how many of Jabba's guards are seen lying on the grounds. This person appears so strong, and hasn't even subjected its body into a murderous machine. Must be a very humiliating defeat.
Padawan Kenobi wonders if the same humiliation would be occurring to them too if they encountered the unknown attacker.
Since no guards had appeared, instead laying unconscious, their stride was a lot short.
They walked down the twisting corridor that led to the throne chamber.
Finally, they are inside the throne room. Usually, being in the throne room meant the harmony of singings, conversations, and the joy of Jabba would silence, and fire a deadly glare at an intimidating figure. This isn't the case. The scatter of bodies alive but senseless rest near the corners of the throne room. Their final glance is a shocking one as Qui-Gon, Kenobi and Chronoa saw a sluggish creature lying flat metres away from the throne as though the blazes of the this hot weather consumed him. It wasn't true, and they understood why he rests there weakly.
Jabba was the vilest gangster in the galaxy/ He had his fingers in smuggling, slave-trading, murder; his minions scattered across the stars. He both collected and invented atrocities. Seeing him in this situation seems unbelievable even though it is caught within their eyes. For the first time, Jabba himself is defeated, one of the most dangerous Hutts to exist in the Universe.
Jabba had noticed two Jedi presences, prompting him to give a pleading expression. He spoke in his usual Huttese language, begging the Jedi to arrest the invader.
Padawan Kenobi had to conceal his amusement over seeing Jabba's defeat. This is the rarest moment to catch in sight of a Hutt's defeat in the history of the Hutts.
"Ignore him, he's just wasting his breath"
A child's voice?, they all thought as they turned. A black-haired boy sitting on Jabba's throne, not having any consideration of risks. This is the first time anyone other than Jabba would sit on his throne.
Queen Chronoa recognised that boy. Under the nest of blood, it was a young child, has black-hair, blue eyes, dressed in shredded clothes. He was very relaxed, and doesn't seem to dunked in all the bruises and blood covering his body. "Bruce?", she exclaimed in extreme shock. She was right about him being alive, she knew it from the day her parents died. "I knew deep down you were alive.". The covers of blood and bruises still disturb her.
Obi-Wan is shocked. His entire body froze looking over a boy who appears close to age of 10, beaten various bounty hunters, and body guards, and humiliated Jabba by ruining his throne room. The mess is very distinguishable. Kenobi doubted he could be capable of drawing out the same effort he made. Maybe the Jedi masters could do the same thing, perhaps its most powerful members who are part of the Council. He has a feeling this boy's power might rival the most powerful Jedi masters.
Qui-Gon is deeply amazed a child had conquered a Hutt. It's one of the greatest achievements to have from a young age. Perhaps he could be what he sought for all these years, the key to everything. He slowly walked toward the throne where Bruce sat.
Reaching the throne, Qui-Gon was in front of Bruce. The Jedi master lowered his body until his eyes matched the same direction as Bruce's eyes. "Bruce Wayne, right?", he said softly.
"Yes.", Bruce replied.
"My name is Qui-Gon Jinn. This is Obi-Wan Kenobi.", Qui-Gon introduced as he senses Obi-Wan and Chronoa now close to him and Bruce. He glances at Chronoa. "And this is-".
"Queen Chronoa, I am aware who she is, especially you two, you are both Jedi.", Bruce said with certainty.
The Jedi are surprised, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon exchange glances.
It was a long moment of silence.
"Robes, the Lightsaber, that's the appearance of a Jedi. No point lying, I've seen it with my own eyes.", Bruce said.
Qui-Gon continued to stare at him. "Guess there is no point concealing who we really are.", he said, without carrying sadness. "Indeed we are Jedi, beings who wield the Force, like you.".
Bruce felt a licker of irritation, like the striking of a match within his soul, heralding a flash of temper that was coming more and more often lately, more and more intense, no matter how hard he tried to keep it under control.
Obi-Wan did not like the look Bruce shows them.
"Really?", Bruce said. The thoughts and emotions that accompanied that single word were raw and rude. "I doubt that.".
Immediately, Qui-Gon, Chronoa and Obi-Wan reacted to the feeling of gravity suddenly possessed by a widespread influence. The Force is very strong. They all looked around, even Jabba is seeing it all in shock, the throne room is rupturing with the palace is splitting apart.
Pieces of Jabba's palace began launching skyward as though it was bent on leaping tall buildings in a single bound. It wasn't just Jabba's palace that rebelled against the reign of gravity. The entire town, including the sand is pouring up.
Nobody in the throne room really saw the potential this boy possesses. He is extremely powerful in the force, managing to cause many things to levitate simultaneously. The Galactic Republic cruiser is also floating in the sky. Despite carrying all the heavy things with the Force, the boy shows no sign of strain.
Chronoa herself did not expect Bruce to wield this much power. Any child under 10 would not achieve this level of power, and he's reaching new heights already.
It wasn't levitation Bruce demonstrated. Much to everyone's shock, they saw Bruce demonstrating the thunderous flickers of light and darkness in the skies as well as the planet shaking intensely, it feels as though the entire Universe is shaking in fear of Bruce's power.
Qui-Gon is impressed by Bruce's potential, convinced he could be the person he had searched for all his life. He could be the light that casts away the darkness infectiously spreading in the Multiverse, the key to bringing peace to the Multiverse as the Chosen One.
A/N: Next chapter will feature at the start of that chapter: Alfred Pennyworth as the narrator. This is inspired from a forgotten story that was supposed to be a planned television called 'Bruce Wayne' focusing on a young Bruce Wayne before he became Batman. You can search it on Wikipedia, they call it 'Bruce Wayne (TV Series)'.
