Point of View: Cameron Angel
So my father tells us what the Capitol is offering. We all go through the good and the bad of the situation. So far only one of our family has perished over the Iron Throne. Father doesn't seem worried. I wonder why. He's going to take the position of Master of Whisperers. We're not going to dissuade him on this. Good thing King's Landing is a week's ride from here. He's taking with him, Odette, Phoenix and myself. Okay?
He dismisses us.
Darksi: Stay for a bit, Cameron.
Oh boy. Spoke too soon.
I pat Jon on the back. He doesn't blush but he does shiver. Pure born brother, you have got to love him.
"Yes, sir?"
Darksi: I'm not a knight. Now sit. I have a mission for you.
Oh good. Nothing like a good "persuasion" mission. Most folks fear the Chimera when he comes to call. I love being an enforcer.
"So what am I doing? "
Darksi: Delivering a message.
Oh?
"Safer to send me than a bird. I like that."
Darksi: Once you deliver the letter, I'm guessing you'll figure out what to do.
"Where am I going?"
Darksi: Dragonstone.
Okay, and…
So that almost took the wind out of my sails. There have been rumors about Dragonstone, mostly around the first part of that name.
It's a one week trip to King's Landing. I would almost worry about my father's protection going to the Capitol. Besides Odette, Phoenix and myself, he's also taking a Ran Van Kann. As banners go, they are a bunch of artists, writers and minstrels. They are also the scariest bannermen in all of Westeros, and that's saying alot. I have heard tales from my sister. She's a minstrel too. She might have been embellishing.
The trip to the Capitol was boring.
I said my farewells to family after we entered the gate. Made it to the docks and found a ship to Dragonstone. Had a few Dothraki on the ship. Well, that's one rumor verified. As soon as we got closer to Dragonstone, the roar shook us all. Well, that confirms the second rumor. There be dragons!
