Alexia, Adelaide, Founders Hermione

"A… memory eclipse?" JJ repeated. "What does that mean?"

Alexia took another sip of her tea and sighed. "It means that because of what happened, because of the way things are going wrong, I landed in the wrong universe when I left Addy. Not last time, but before that."

Adelaide's eyebrows rose in concern. "Where did you go?"

"A universe where, instead of what I did, I stayed in the past to change it and married Lucius," she said. She let out a small laugh at the disgust on her friend's face. "Things were going fine, and then it started. See, his Alexia died a few years ago. My soul bond with Antonin was cut off because he's dead there, and Lucius's bond with his version of me snapped into place. It hurt. And then these memories… it feels a bit like someone is invading my mind, breaking down my strongest walls. Memories appear, play in my mind as if they're mine."

"Like the fake memories Voldemort gave Cassie."

Alexia's lips thinned. "Yes, I suppose. After so many of these memories, I started to- to forget who I was. I remembered this other version instead. I thought I was married to Lucius, that I'd willingly joined Voldemort to take him down from the inside, that Cissa- poor Cissa was bloody insane. I forgot me."

"An eclipse," Rose whispered. She was frowning darkly at the table. "You lose yourself and she takes over."

"Exactly. It caused some significant damage, I guess. Lucius and her James made it worse by touching me- trying to make me into her, though I'd told them what happened. I was almost gone, but Antonin got there and helped me remember. Since then, it happens when I'm in another universe, like earlier. Or, apparently, when a portal is open and I'm mentally vulnerable."

"Okay, but what I don't get is why it's happening," the Doctor told her. He was also frowning at her, and Alexia quietly thought that Rose and the Doctor were the only ones that really seemed to understand the weight of what she was saying. Rose certainly looked deeply concerned for her, and the Doctor seemed to be disturbed. "You shouldn't just randomly become another person. It isn't possible."

Alexia glanced between Spencer and Adelaide. "That's why I called you. There was a mistake. Macnair… I had to fight him. I couldn't- he was going to get away again, after what he'd done, I couldn't let him-,"

"Lexi," Adelaide squeezed her hand. "None of us think what you did was wrong. I want to fucking murder him, too."

"I'm not exactly fond of him myself," Rossi added. "My shoulder still gets sore when it rains."

"But what happened?" the Doctor asked, this time a bit louder.

Rose shot him a look and offered Alexia an apologetic smile. "Whatever you did, I'm sure he deserved it."

"Right, well, we were duelling. I had Spencer there- they're muggles, by the way, with the FBI. I had Spencer with me because he was helping me retain my sanity interviewing Rabastan. He was in the middle of a large attack and I couldn't keep protecting him and myself. I tried to switch universes with my ring, but Macnair hit me with a curse and it took us… outside the multiverse."

There was a beat of silence before the Doctor spoke. "That's impossible."

"I thought we were going to retire that word from your vocabulary, Doctor," Rose sighed. "But that would've… it obviously happened, but to do that, it would kill whoever was pulled through the no-space."

Spencer nodded. "She had two seizures."

"After we got back, we realized that I didn't take us into the control universe. I'd pulled the control universe through me. It's here, part of the multiverse, taking up space that we don't have to spare. Meanwhile-,"

"Meanwhile, we're lacking a control," Rose sat forward in her seat. "Everything lost balance, which is why you're having this eclipse."

"That's not the only thing that would've happened," the Doctor told her. "You would've noticed a great deal of disturbances."

Alexia nodded tiredly. "I did. I've been travelling since this happened while I've been supposed to be healing, tracking it all. I've seen two universes try and merge, someone fully stopped existing and no one in their universe remembers them, my mental eclipse, a cousin of ours looks exactly like Antonin, Antonin's grandfather is now his father, and my sister-in-law's baby went from eight months to two weeks. She has to endure the entire pregnancy again."

"...yeah, that sounds about right. But if this is happening... replacing an entire control universe will be-,"

A large stag Patronus ran in the room, and Alexia nearly hit her head on the table in frustration. "Lex… there's another one. I'm sorry, but there's a new message, too. And it's… it's definitely for you. Sirius picked it up in France."

Alexia's eyes widened, and she felt her breath pick up. "I can't fucking do this. I can't- I don't- someone else died because of me."

JJ shook her head quickly. "This isn't your fault, Alexia, but it's important to know that he can track you. I'll get in touch with Hotch-,"

"Expecto Patronum!" Adelaide cast. Her Grim jumped out, and she sighed. "Who to?"

"Antonin," Alexia replied, trying to calm her panic. It wasn't going well.

"To Dolohov. Get in touch with James. There's been another murder in France."

The Patronus jumped away, and Adelaide moved in front of Alexia, nearly sitting on the table to meet her eyes. "Close your eyes, Lexi. Use our bond, use it to ground yourself. Just breathe. That's all you need to do, okay?"

Alexia tried to do as her friend said. The bond did help, and she focused on the calming feeling it gave her. She didn't speak until her breathing had slowed back to a mostly normal rate. "It's Feliks, Addy. He's killing people because Mia told him I'd… because he thinks I chose not to have a child."

"You can't have kids, Lexi," Adelaide shook her head. When her friend just stared, she grimaced. "I see. Remind me to hex Mia next time I see her. But the muggle's right, it's not your fault. You knew your family is fucking insane. I mean, I remember a couple stories about them you've told me, plus when Nikita grabbed you in-,"

"We need to get out," Alexia interrupted her sharply. "The only… wards that I trust that'll keep everyone out are ones I'll need Sirius or Regulus to get us through. I think Arcturus kicked me out when he went into seclusion."

"We can use the floo," Adelaide said, nodding at the fireplace. "I'll go find your husband and let him know where you're heading."

Alexia nodded. After she'd left, she turned to everyone else. "We need to go to Potter Manor and pick someone up. He'll take us somewhere Feliks can't… the floo address is Marauder Lane."

Rose smiled softly. "Marauder?"

"We had to change it when we re-opened Potter Manor," she explained as she made her way over to the fireplace. "Its Lord and heir are two original Marauders. Jamie thought it was fitting."

"How does a floo work, exactly?" Spencer asked.

"You take some of this powder, stand in there, and throw it down and say the address. Say it clearly, or you'll end up in Knockturn Alley like Harry did."

It didn't take them long to get over there. Alexia went first, and she ran up the stairs immediately, using her Patronus - despite how weak it was at the moment - to find Regulus. He sat in a study with Lucius, and they both looked up as she slammed the door open. "Reg, I need to get to Black Manor. Now."

"Why?" he asked as he got to his feet.

"Feliks followed me to France," she answered shortly. There was no need for any other explanation. Regulus hurried out of the room, and she followed after him with Lucius behind her. Moving everyone to Black Manor was a bit more difficult, as everyone had to be keyed in one at a time. After another ten minutes, she stood there with the group as Regulus locked up the wards, leaving room only for the people he knew would be arriving soon.

There was a loud crack, and Antonin was back with Hotch and Morgan. Immediately, he took three long strides over to Alexia and pulled her into his arms. She let out a ragged breath and squeezed her eyes shut as Adelaide popped in with Emily. "Another one?"

She nodded into his chest. "Two memories. She… met Feliks."

"What's happening, exactly?" the Doctor wondered.

Adelaide decided to answer him. "Lexi's cousin tried to forcibly marry her, it didn't work so he then decided to try and- and he ended up stabbing her and almost killing her. They kept him locked up to do tests. Apparently, he got out."

"Who are these people?" Hotch asked, looking at the Doctor and Rose.

"I'm Rose, he's the Doctor," Rose nodded at them. "Friends of Alexia. And Mia, actually. She made this worse?"

"She was just trying to make him admit who he was," Alexia replied quietly. "I know why she did it, and I'm glad she did, because Feliks looks like Antonin."

"How can you know that's actually your husband?" Morgan wondered.

Alexia stepped on her toes to kiss Antonin. When she did, she felt their bond sparked brightly within her. When they separated enough for her to move next to him with an arm around her, she nodded firmly. "It's him."

There was another crack, and James and Sirius landed next to Adelaide. James hurried over and pulled Alexia out of Antonin's hold and into a tight hug, irritating the other man. "Fuck, Lex, we thought he'd gotten you."

"Why?" she asked, pulling out of the hug. Sirius was hovering nearby as well, and tapping his hand anxiously against his leg. "What exactly was the message?"

"The first message was, 'Am I getting hotter?'"

"The first?" she asked, her voice raising. "Jamie, if you tell me there was another-,"

"I'm sorry, Ash," Sirius grimaced. "It was barely three miles from your house in France."

"And the message there?" Hotch asked.

"'Can you see me?'"

"He's taunting her," Spencer frowned at the floor. "It's like he expects her to come after him."

Morgan shrugged. "Well, what does the world know about her? How she reacts to these things? She went after Macnair, and then last time we were here, Adelaide posed as her and went after him."

"Lexi doesn't usually attack people unless they're hurting someone else," Sirius offered.

Alexia hesitated. She didn't exactly enjoy criticizing the way she reacted to threats, but she knew they were right. "I wasn't going to take the Dark Mark until he threatened Antonin and my friends."

"Yeah, it's pretty likely," Adelaide agreed. "I can't think of a single version of us that would take people being murdered because of us well. Hell, I've gone after Dolohov for hurting others. He attacked Katie Bell… I'm not… sure when, but because of me."

"But how the hell is he tracking you, Ash?" James questioned. "He didn't put a tracking spell on you, right?"

Adelaide waved her wand at Alexia. Nothing came up, so she did a few more spells until finally, a light in the middle of her chest was visible. "Fuck."

"Do we need to move again?" Emily asked. Regulus shook his head.

"Black Manor is impossible to break into. Grandfather tightened the wards with a lot of blood magic, and some sacrifices."

"Sacrifices?" Rose asked, her voice raising slightly. "Like people?"

Regulus stared at her. "I didn't say I condone it, did I?"

"Yeah, to be fair, Arcturus kinda lost his mind," Adelaide agreed. "Not that I think he ever had much sanity to begin with."

"We'll be safe here," Sirius assured them. "But what tracking spell is that?"

"It's attached to her core," Adelaide explained. "Despite the wards, he knows where she is, it's just a matter of actually getting to her. Black Manor really is the safest place for her until we find him."

"Did he have any friends, anyone he worked with?" Morgan asked Antonin. He shook his head once.

"Feliks cut himself off after Celia was killed. During the war, I had him watched as a precaution, but he was always alone."

"Okay, but this spell," Rose cut in. "Can you get it out of her core?"

"It'd be pretty dangerous," James frowned at her. "Lexi could die."

"Well, she can come back," Morgan said. He got a few glares and a look of disbelief from Emily.

"Again, I don't think she likes dying."

Alexia shook her head. "Even if I did die, the spell would snap back in place. My core would have to be emptied almost completely until the spell detached itself, and then my magic would have to be put back. Usually, only Unspeakables can do the spell. Antonin can't since he's also connected to my core. Magic would think he was trying to hurt me and hurt or kill him. We can't bring Bertie over, because I don't want the wards let up at all. No one else here can do it."

There were some mutteres of disappointment. After a moment, Adelaide ran her fingers through her hair in frustration. "I can."

"What?" Alexia looked to her friend. "No, Addy, you don't understand. It's extremely dangerous. If you-,"

"I've done it before," she interrupted. Alexia cut off, surprised. "I watched Dumbledore do it to Draco, and then I did it to Theo. He lived. He was perfectly fine, especially after I woke him."

"There's gotta be another way to handle this," Sirius said loudly. He was clearly stressed, and he began pacing. "Merlin, Regulus, you know the dark shit! Fix her."

"If you haven't forgotten, brother, there is no way to safely remove something from one's core," Regulus snapped back.

Lucius looked to Alexia. "I have an idea, but it is one you will not like."

She met his eyes and spoke quietly. "I trust you. What is it?"

"You need to leave," he told her.

"If I leave, he'll-,"

"Not Black Manor," he corrected. "You need to leave to another universe. I will tell Draco to lock down your machine so it cannot be used."

Adelaide made a face at him. "I don't know if you know, Malfoy, but Lexi can't be in another universe without a memory eclipse."

Alexia cringed as Lucius's eyes shot to hers. "Thanks, Addy."

"I thought you'd have told him! You told him you were from the bloody future. Merlin, you make no sense sometimes."

"I didn't tell him because of what I'm remembering!" Alexia shot back. "It's a little uncomfortable, some of these memories."

"Alexia," Lucius said slowly. "What is she talking about?"

She scowled at everyone vaguely, but mostly, Adelaide and Lucius. "Really, nothing you need to be concerned over."

"A memory eclipse is definitely something to be concerned over, Lexi," Sirius said sharply. "How the hell- who-,"

Rose cut in sharply. "You know, if she hasn't told you guys, she probably doesn't want you to know."

"We're the people that keep her safe when she won't do it herself," Sirius shot back. "For the love of Merlin, Ash."

James looked at his sister in pain. "This is that head trauma you told Morris about, isn't it?"

"Okay!" Alexia yelled. "Everyone shut up. Lucius, the reason I didn't tell you is because the person whose memories I am receiving are that of Alexia Malfoy. She decided to change time and married you. He was there when it started and decided to make it a lot worse. By the time Antonin found me, I was almost gone. It's awkward because some of the memories aren't exactly PG."

"Ew," James muttered.

"James, Sirius, the reason I didn't tell you is because it was a really, really shitty time," she said plainly. "James, your alternate self also tried to make it worse and I just wanted to be with my brother. And Regulus-,"

"You don't owe me an explanation," he cut in. She stopped and offered him a thankful smile.

The tip of Alexia's wand lit up and she cursed. It took her a moment of digging through her bag before she pulled out a charmed Galleon. "It's… Avery. Since when did we give one to Avery?"

"Maybe tell him we're a bit busy," James made a face at her. "He can wait."

"No, he can't," she disagreed, reading the message. Her eyes shot to Antonin. "He said Feliks showed up asking about us."

"I will go," he told her. "Stay here. I will be back with him soon."

"Take someone with you," she suggested.

Antonin gave a stiff nod and looked to the BAU. "I will take two with me, but we are leaving now."

"Morgan, with me," Hotch requested. They both made their way over, but Antonin grabbed Alexia gently and pressed a kiss to her lips.

"I love you," she whispered. "Please be safe."

He stroked her cheek softly. "And I love you, Hermione."

She smiled softly as he took Hotch and Morgan and left. They had to walk out of the wards to Apparate away, since they were unwilling to open the floo again.

"So, what do we do?" Adelaide wondered. "Are you okay here, Lexi? I mean, nothing bad happened here?"

Alexia shrugged. "Not really. I didn't spend that much time here. Mostly just society events, and not that many of them. The first time I met you guys, I was at one held here, and then when I dragged Antonin… not much time here."

"Grandfather preferred to be alone if he could manage it," Sirius shrugged. "Didn't you meet Voldypants at that first society thing?"

"Oh, right," she said, surprised she'd forgotten. "Yeah, Riddle came to meet me."

"I was shocked he didn't kill you on the spot," Regulus told her tiredly. "After all the work we put into keeping you safe, you disrespected him the day you met him."

"He doesn't and didn't deserve any respect."

James laughed at the exhausted look Regulus gave her. "She's right. I don't blame her."

Alexia glanced down at her ring with a frown. To everyone else, it looked fine, but she knew otherwise. "Addy, I need your hand."

Adelaide gave it over, and Alexia held onto it and used it to ground herself. Then, without warning, she tapped her ring and opened a portal. "Lexi, what are you doing?"

"Hold on," she waved her off. After a moment, Founders Hermione jumped through. Alexia closed the portal after her. "You okay?"

Hermione steadied herself and looked around. She looked pretty shaken up and had a few bandages on her wrist, neck, and hand. "You're busy. I can come back if you-,"

"Are you okay?" Alexia asked her, interrupting loudly. Hermione hesitated.

"No. No, I'm… no. I need your help."
