MLP: My Diamond Friend's Wedding
Chapter 4: Queen of Kindness
Groaning as the first rays of light drifted into the bedroom an exhausted young stallion found himself in an unknown bed, it was extremely pink and covered in designs which reminded him of butterflies. Sliding out from beneath the covers his eyes landed on an nearby chair, beneath it were his clothes and realizing it meant the stallion was naked it made him blush. Based on what his cousin said the previous night it was her friend's dwelling, stepping down from the bed his feet landed on dirt making an unusual squishing noise. Reaching for his clothes the young stallion nearly leapt backwards as his room's door opened, seconds later a young mare with pink hair walked into the room carrying a tray.
"I thought you might be hungry." A voice which sounded both timid and caring explained before setting it down, before he could question the young mare a loud growling noise filled the room confirming her suspicions. Getting outta the bed he'd forgotten the clothes were safely outta reach, before he could stop the young mare was looking at his impressive crotch. Reaching for the sheets it was all he could do to keep from blushing, evidently she was also mortified because her face was now a deep crimson. Covering her eyes with both palms she nearly tripped over a small rock, dashing forward the young stallion caught her but it made the sheets fall down.
"Sorry but could you get my clothes?" Stardust questioned as the mare nodded before asking if he would cover up, grabbing the sheets he covered up before explaining she'd be okay now. Grabbing his clothes the young mare passed it over and shielded her eyes, after he'd finished putting everything on the young mare finally opened her beautiful aqua colored eyes.
"I should've knocked before entering." She explained as the young mare contemplated running away, waving it off like she'd made a common error her guest started eating. Grabbing a piece of the bread he ripped it apart before eating it, seconds into his meal their face lit up and he looked into the mare's eyes. Despite having only just met it was the kind of gaze most couples dreamed about, it was almost like they understood each other without needed to say anything. Brushing the idea away she reached for a little broom in the corner of his makeshift bedroom, gripping it tightly she began dusting as her new guest enjoyed their meal.
"Don't suppose you'd join me for breakfast?" Stardust questioned as the young mare looked over at him, it was an understandable request but it still caught her off guard. Grinning at him the young mare nodded before sitting down across from their visitor, even if he was just being nice the young mare appreciated his invitation. Before she could question the stallion about the nature of his visit an little cry interrupted their breakfast, sighing in frustration the young mare got up and opened her door knowing the little bunny wouldn't quit until she let him in.
"Angel you're supposed to be outside, sorry about that my little guy's kinda needy." She explained as her guest nodded that he understood, glancing outside the window he noticed a great number of injured or recovering animals. Given her timid nature it was an unusual but fitting occupation, it probably meant she was very gentle and kindhearted but it could be a front. Reaching out he contemplated petting the rabbit before it scurried away, blushing a little the young mare started apologizing for his behavior. Brushing it off the satiation pushed a little bagel in her direction, grabbing it she bit into the pastry and blushing when he dusted a bit of crumbs away from her mouth.
"Dashie isn't very good with introductions but you're ummmm it was something about being meek right?" Stardust questioned as the young mare's already crimson face blushed even deeper, evidently it wasn't her name but considering their friend's playful nature she'd most like just used her initials. Grabbing at the nearby fork she used it to cut off another bite, eventually she looked over at her guests cutie mark since only part of it was currently showing before realizing it wasn't very polite. Despite her best efforts at looking past him it didn't escape the young stallion's attention, grinning her visitor stood up and pulled his clothes up just enough to indulge her wondering gaze.
"Fluttershy and your cutie mark's quite unique, it reminds me of a shooting comet." She explained as the young man nodded like he suddenly remembered the mare's name, even if his cousin wasn't great at introductions the stallion was pretty confident he'd remember someone this nice. Grinning before smiling at her the young mare returned his gaze with an beautiful smile, eventually she realized his gaze was lingering on the young mare's cutie mark. Blushing deep the young mare stood up just long enough for him to believe she might reveal her own cutie mark, unfortunately the mare's shy prevented her from granting the stallion's request.
"Cutie marks aside it's quite the impressive view outside, is your house also some kind of critter refuge?" Stardust questioned as the mare nodded in affirmation of his guess, it was unlike anything he'd ever seen before and it was quite beautiful. Cutting off the last bite of his muffin it was beyond delicious, suddenly it dawned on his there weren't any wrappers scatted about the room. Giving her a questioning look the young mare explained she'd cooked it all herself, dropping his fork the young stallion nearly choked in amazement.
"Are you okay?" She questioned as the young man nodded as he nodded frantically, despite his own crimson face it was obvious something upset him. Grinning just a little her guest explained it was perhaps the best muffin he'd eaten in several years if not the very best of his entire life, unfortunately it made the young lady's already crimson face an every deeper red. Concerned that if her face got any redder she'd pass out the unicorn stood up and dusted himself off, staring deep into her eyes the young mare's guest questioned if he could see it. Blushing and stumbling all over herself the young stallion explained he meant what laid just outside, he'd never seen animal like the mare's rescues before and he needed a closer look.
"Rescuing injured critters makes you dang near a superhero, did you rescue all of them from Ponyville?" Stardust questioned before the young mare looked at him questioningly, it was a nice statement but it felt just a little rehearsed. Groaning just a little the young stallion explained he'd actually never gotten to see one up close and personal, despite being a little intimidated by his newfound enthusiasm she eventually nodded it was a good idea. Reaching into her nightstand the young mare pulled out several little bags, each one contained a different type of food and given that it was already ten past noon everyone was probably hungry.
"Would you like to feed a couple,?" Fluttershy questioned as the young stallion began nodding frantically, chuckling a little she passed two bags over and lead him outside. After explaining the reason for her new assistant she began distributing food, she wanted to make sure everyone got just the right amount. Reaching into the bag he pulled out some food and place it on the ground, seconds later a group of chickens ran up and started pecking at it. Before long the giant chimera strode up and roared at him, it was a little frightening but ended rather quickly when the mare glared at it.
"Don't you growl at our visitor, it's his first time visiting our animal sanctuary" She explained before giving the creature a stern look, whimpering a little it eventually settled down and let their guest pet him. Grinning a little the stallion explained he understood its reservations, meeting new people was scary and until you knew them feeling comfortable was difficult. Rubbing up against him it started purring like a big kitty, smiling their guest continued petting him before asking its gender.
"Actually it's my first time even seeing one, well at least one not being kept inside a glass cage." Stardust explained as the mare rushed up beside him, she quickly began explain all the different ways a person could learn each animals gender. Combing back the giant monsters fur she began explaining why it had an unusual marking, it was ultimately here because a group of hunters thought it would be a good prize. Growling in a combination of rage and disgust the young stallion explained he despised hunters, everything about them seemed cruel in his eyes or at least the unlicensed ones. Despite being necessary in some regards it was only acceptable if you were something like a park ranger, every hunter the stallion knew killed because it was necessary for population control.
"She's actually pretty docile once you get to know her." A new voice explained as they both looked in its direction, walking up grinning from ear to ear was his cousin and if the smile was any indication the mare was extremely happy. Scratching under the chimera's neck it started purring even louder, it was actually kind neat seeing an usually vicious beasts just having fun. Grinning as she looked back at them it was pretty clear her instincts were right on the money, everyone wanted the beautiful supermodel girlfriend but it was the right choice for him. Rarity had been the one who suggested letting him crash at their friend's house, in what could only be described as pure genius she'd explained it like the opening for an romance novel.
"Care to explain why you never introduced us, it's not every day you meet beautiful kindhearted ponies?" Stardust questioned as the pink haired mare blushed at his compliments while looking over at his cousin, it wasn't exactly subtle but it gave her an idea which if successful could push her into the stallion's arms. Considering they both loved animals maybe he'd volunteer at the sanctuary whenever he got a break from reviewing books.
"Maybe you should consider volunteering here on the weekends, it would make things a lot easier on Fluttershy." Rainbow Dash suggests as the woman's cousin looked over at his new friend, nodding that it would be appreciated it made his cousin smile. Given her reputation for pranks she'd expected a little more push back, if everything went according to plan they'd be raising cute little foals before next year's end. Before she could question it any further the pink haired mare suggest a glass of lemonade, dashing back into the house she explained that most ponies in her family were nuts about certain drinks. Cider was her personal favorite but he'd always enjoyed sour drinks, grinning as she explained it was her favorite as well it only proved they were meant for each other.
"Wow that's some really good lemonade, as for volunteering that sounds like a great idea." Stardust explained as the pink haired mare nearly leapt into action, dashing upstairs she eventually returned with a manual containing information on every animal in her sanctuary. Giving her a questioning look the stallion began reading over all of her information, it was surprisingly detailed although part of him respected the mare's intelligence. About fifteen minutes later the stallion finally put it down, gazing up into her eyes the blue mare contemplated shoving him. Just before she could enact her master plan an unknown device started ringing, sighing before reaching into his pants the stallion pulled it out before walking outside.
Based on what little information she could make out it was some kinda video crystal, sliding his palm along it the crystal began glowing with an eerie purple aura. Seconds later an video portal opened and the young stallion began arguing with an unknown mare, it made his cousin kinda frustrated but since they didn't know each other it was probably his coworker. Grinning when her cousin looked over at the window she noticed he was focused on the pink haired mare, despite being an unknown variable the young man didn't seem interested in his assistant. After what felt like an eternity the young stallion finally walked back into the house, gazing into the pink haired mare's eyes there was an unknown glow which let her friend know the plan could still work.
"Are you okay we heard screaming?" Fluttershy questioned as the unicorn nodded he was okay, grabbing another cup of lemonade he downed it without taking a break. Grabbing his cup the yellow mare refiled his glass before smiling at him, under different circumstances he would've flirted with the mare but right now he didn't feel like it. Raising his glass the young stallion looked over at his cousin and mumbled something less than polite, something about how despite being an instructor she got more time with her girlfriend.
"Don't you need a girlfriend first, and you still haven't told us what's got you so upset?" Rainbow questioned as the stallion gave her an less than polite gesture, seconds later he remembered the yellow mare was present and blushed deep crimson. Before he could apology the pink mare flashed his cousin another gesture, acting like she was caught off guard the blue mare staggered backwards. Grinning at their playful natures she knew it meant they'd be an damn near perfect couple, it actually reminded her of the stallion currently dating another friend. Suddenly it dawned on her the young stallion hadn't even met the girl in question, making an note to introduce him she wondered if they could arrive before her friend knew they were coming.
"Story heart's having trouble with our newest client's manuscripts, if we can't get it done in time we'll have to pull some all nighters." Stardust explained as they both winced, vacations were supposed to be fun and reviewing manuscripts sounded awful. Based on what little information her aunt gave the young mare it was an extremely challenging book, evidently they'd already written up several drafts but none of them accurately captured its mysterious nature. Groaning as his crystal started ringing again it was quickly becoming a nuisance, stepping outside the already frustrated editor began shouting at his coworker.
"Dude's gonna exploded if he doesn't relax, maybe you could help out in that regard?" Rainbow questioned as her friend nearly collapsed, evidently she'd misunderstood her intentions but it was much funnier this way. Grinning just a little she approached the young mare and knelt beside her ear, whispering something about imagining him shirtless the pink haired girl's face changed into an extremely beautiful red. Bringing her mouth up right above the mare's left ear she began whispering more provocative ideas, considering her friend's normally demur attitude it was extremely rewarding messing with her.
"We just met yesterday and he was unconscious, believe it or not some of us have rules against one night stands." Flutters explained as the blue mare smiled even wider, whispering something about imagining herself beneath the stallion crying out in pleasure the mare nearly fainted. Grinning at her reaction she knew it was making the innocent pony flustered, it was just a matter of pushing her over the edge. Running her fingers over the young woman's slender frame it made the girl writhe in pleasure, she knew exactly what needed to be said and it was gonna be fun.
"Maybe if you're really lucky he'll give you some foals." She explained before the pink haired mare stood up and knocked her chair over, it was so funny the blue pony nearly collapsed laughing. Before she could finish her delicious joke the stallion walked back in and looked at her with an chiding look, even if he didn't know what she'd whispered in her ears the stallion knew it was most likely not kid friendly. Grabbing the young woman's hand it was enough to make her gasp in pleasure, bursting out laughing his cousin began explaining what she'd used to make her friend blush.
"Rainbow you're supposed to be her friend, jokes meanwhile are supposed to be funny not vindictive." Stardust explained as the young mare raised both hands in mock surrender, despite knowing it was an great joke she actually loved his response. Rushing to her friend's defense would only score him more brownie points, sure it made her look cruel but if her friend got the lover she deserved then so be it. Grabbing onto the young stallion's hand it made the girl feel a little nervous, she'd dreamed of moments like this but it always ended right before she woke up.
"Give me an break, you're obviously interested in each other so quite being coy." Rainbow explained as the stallion blushed at her comment, admittedly the yellow mare was extremely cute but flirting didn't seem like an particularly good idea right now. Grinning just a little the blue mare reached for another glass of lemonade, stepping forward the mare intentionally released the glass spending it flying onto her friend's dress. Crying out as the liquid soaked into her dress it began outlining her underwear, acting like it was an honest mistake she began dabbing at it with an napkin. Before long it had seeped into her underwear giving the stallion an impressive view of her body, seconds later his face was an deep crimson and he looked away in embarrassment.
"Alright missy if you're that desperate we're gonna make it an fun little experiment, we're gonna visit an nearby beach and your lover's joining us." Flutters explained as the blue mare gulped in reply before her friend smiled, sure it was an good idea but getting the princess into an swimsuit could prove difficult. Considering the princess hadn't even disclosed their relationship among her friends just yet it seemed tacky, unfortunately the pink haired mare looked as if she wasn't gonna back down. Grabbing her backpack the more experienced pony nodded it was acceptable, she couldn't back down or it would her own relationship's shortcomings.
"Maybe we could start with dinner?" Stardust questioned as the yellow mare nodded he was right, sighing in relief the blue pony knew she'd just dodged an massive bullet. Grabbing an notebook the yellow pony started jotting down an note, when she'd finished it normally timid mare read it aloud. Blushing at the idea of wearing an swimsuit his cousin eventually relented, unfortunately it meant she'd just lost as her friend began jotting down another location. Ripping the page off she handed it over and smiled, gasping in surprise the blue mare realized she'd just tricked her.
"We'll see you for dinner, just make sure the princess is wearing something cute." Flutters explained as the blue mare's normally serene face was quickly becoming an deep crimson, smiling at her friend the yellow pony opened her door. Considering everything she'd done until now the blue mare knew it was an lucky break, giving her cousin an knowing little wink she'd effectively rendered him speechless. Based on what he knew about the mare it wasn't clear if she'd lost or intentionally given her friend an date night with the stallion, it was an brilliant move and one that if he was being honest seemed more complex than usual.
"Sorry about my cousin, we'll just forget about her idiotic joke." Stardust explained before looking down at her floor, normally he would've loved an date night with the beautiful mare only right now he felt like an unintelligent pawn.
"Don't be ridiculous we're gonna have dinner tonight, you're gonna find out soon enough but your cousin was right about one thing." She explained before kissing the bewildered guy's cheek, it was kinda cute seeing him flustered but any romantic tension was crushed when her little bunny started pulling on the girl's extremely wet dress. Groaning as she picked up the little bunny it was clearly hungry and refused to be deterred, giving her visitor an little kiss before opening her door she whispered an goodbye in his ear. Before he could question the mare any further she'd closed it, glancing over at the nearby shop his cousin leaned up against it waiting for the unicorn. Despite being utterly confused on what just happened the stallion realized he'd just gotten an date, walking past his cousin the pegasus leaned in and said you're welcome before spreading her wings and flying off into the clear blue sky.
