Rick sighed as he walked into his house, and he frowned when his eyes saw Jerry. He hated having him here, the kid was a complete idiot who acted all smug but it's for his daughter and he guess it's kinda fun to humiliate him.

Jerry smiled at him. "Hey, haven't seen you in a while."

"Fuck off!" Rick snapped before storming off. He had no respect for Jerry, the boy got his daughter pregnant for Christ's sake! Why should he?! He went upstairs and his sour mood lowered a bit when he saw his daughter trying to dress his two-year-old granddaughter. "Come on, sweetie, just let me put your clothes on." Beth tried to reason.

"No!"

Beth sighed and Rick walked in laughing. "Glad you find this amusing." Beth said bitterly. "So, this is little Sum-Sum, huh? Man, she's really grown." Summer smiled at him, and Rick returned it before picking her up. "Good thing she doesn't look like her father, hopefully she doesn't take after him either."

Beth scoffed. "Dad, can't you at least try to get along with Jerry. He really wants you to like him." Rick burped before answering. "Afraid that isn't possible, sweetie. I usually like a lot of people but Jerry, nah, I-I just don't see that h-happening any time soon."

Beth sighed sadly and Rick raised a brow. "W-What i-is it? Wh-What's wrong?" Beth shook her head. "It's nothing dad. I'm just tired. Summer has been a real handful lately." Before Rick could question her further, Jerry came in. "Hey, Rick. Beth and I were hoping you'd join us tonight for dinner? There is this new restaurant that I think you'll-"

"Hold on!" Rick interrupted when he noticed how Jerry was addressing him. "W-When did you start calling me Rick?! What happened to-to Mr. Sanchez?!" Jerry rubbed his neck nervously. "W-Well, I've been living here for two years now, and I just figured-"

"That you have the privilege to call me by my first name?! New's flash, you don't!" Rick said and if he wasn't holding Summer who was playing with his locks of hair, he would have crossed his arms. "Well, you call me Jerry instead of Jeremy." Jerry said and Rick frowned at him. "T-That's because I have no respect for you! You're an idiot, you got my daughter pregnant at 17, and you keep trying to get her to disobey me and sleep with you! Yeah, I know about that, dipshit, I record everything! I literally have eyes and ears everywhere! You're lucky my daughter is smart enough to keep saying no or-or else you'd be dead right now!"

Jerry sank down and bit his lip. "Dad!" Beth yelled, making Rick turn to her. "What?" Beth sighed. "Look, whether you like it or not, Jerry is a part of our family now. He is the father of your granddaughter, and you should have respect for him for taking such good care of us."

"Beth, I never see Jerry do anything but whine and complain, like a little bitch! Y-You're the one who works hard, m-meanwhile he keeps trying and failing at getting a job. I-I mean, who the fuck can't get a job at Walmart! Fucking pathetic."

Beth exhaled. "Can you just please join us for dinner tonight! Please." Rick rolled his eyes and handed Summer back to Beth. "F-Fine, but I am not promising that I'm going to like it." Rick said as walked out the room.

...

Later,

"A taco place, huh?" Rick said as he walked inside with his daughter, granddaughter, and Jerry. They sat at a booth and Rick had a small smile on his face. "Ok, this place isn't so bad."

Jerry smiled a little. "I'm glad you like it Ri- Mr. Sanchez." He quickly corrected and a waiter showed up. "Hola, ¿qué puedo conseguirte? (Hello, what can I get you?)"

Jerry tensed. "Um..." Rick rolled his eyes at him and looked at the waiter. "Ignoralo, es un idiota. Me gustaria tres tacos de pollo con todo y tu salsa más picante. (Ignore him, he's an idiot. I would like three chicken tacos with everything on it and your spiciest sauce.)"

"Muy bien, Señor. Y tu, Señorita? (Very good, sir. And you, Miss?" Beth smiled. "Tendre Io mismo. (I'll have the same.)" Jerry looked at her surprised. "You speak Spanish?" Rick scoffed. "Of course, she does."

"Que le gustaría, Señor?" She asked Jerry and he tapped his fingers nervously. "I..um.."

"Jerry, I got it." Rick said and looked back at the waiter with a smile. "Tendrá tu chile más caliente."

The waiter nodded and smiled before writing it down. "Muy bien, volveré en breve con tu comida. (Very good, I'll be back shortly with your food.)" She said before leaving.

"So...can she not speak English, like at all? What kind of place hires a waiter who can't speak English?" Rick glared at him. "O-Oh, what, ju-just because she lives in the US, she's got to speak English?"

Jerry shrugged. "Well, I mean, most people speak English. Wouldn't it be hard for people to understand her and for her to understand them?"

"I'm sure she understands English, Jerry or else they wouldn't have hired her! People have a hard time understanding people who do speak English, like you, you speak English but-but I can't understand anything y-you say half the time b-because you sound like a moron!" Jerry hangs his head and Rick sighs before looking at Beth who was smiling at Summer who was coloring on a child's menu.

"So, Beth, since we are on the subject, w-when are you going to-to teach Summer Spanish?" Beth glanced at him. "I don't know, I figure I'll wait until she's a bit older. I wouldn't want to overwhelm her or confuse her."

"W-Wait, you're planning to teach Summer Spanish. How come you didn't tell me?" Jerry asked and Beth shrugged. "I don't know. Didn't think it was that important. Why? Do you have a problem with that?"

"Wha-no! I just feel like I should have been involved is all." Rick frowned at him. "Not everything has to envold around you, Jerry."

The waiter then came back with their food. "Tacos de pollo para usted, señor. (Chicken tacos for you, sir.)" She said as she laid the plate in front of Rick who smiled. "Y lo mismo para usted, señorita. (And the same for you, Miss.)" Beth looked excited while Summer just clapped in joy. "Y chile para ti. (And chili for you.)" Jerry looked at the bowl of chili with a raised brow as she set it in front of him. "¿Hay algo más que necesites? (Is there anything else you need?)"

Rick smiled at her. "No, somos buenos. Gracias. (No, we're good. Thank you.)"

"Claro. Disfruta de tu comida. (Sure thing. Enjoy your food.)" The waiter then left, and Rick rubbed his palms together. "Alright, let's dig in!"

...

Later,

"Oh, that was the best meal ever!" Rick said as he laid back. "I'm stuff, how about you Beth? You stuff?" Beth nodded. "How about you Sum-Sum?" Summer just laughed at him. "Well, I'm pretty full." Jerry said and Rick snickered. "Not for long you won't be."

Jerry raised a brow. "What's that mean?" Rick held in a laugh. "Y-You'll see." Beth then cleared her throat. "Jerry, you ready?" Jerry took in a shaky breath. "As ready as I'll ever be."

Rick raised a brow at them. "Ready for what? Desert? H-Honestly, I'm not sure if I can fit much more b-but if y-you guys want to, then I'm in." Beth shook her head. "No, Dad, we want to tell you something. It's...It's important."

Rick's eyes shot open, and he immediately looked pissed. "L-Last time you said that you got pregnant!" He then glared daggers at Jerry and pulled out his gun. "Did you get my daughter pregnant again, motherfucker?!"

Jerry immediately held his hands up, sweat pouring from his face. "No! Jesus Christ!" Beth got in front of him. "No, no! Dad, I'm not pregnant, I swear!" Rick sighed in relief and slumped back in his seat while putting his gun away. "O-Ok, d-don't scare me like that. You had me worried there. I-I thought I was going to have to blow a hole through this asshole's head."

Jerry gripped Beth's arm like his life depended on it. "B-Beth, I-I don't want to do this anymore! Le-let's just forget about it!" Beth rolled her eyes. "Jesus, Jerry, grow up. This was your idea; we can't go back now. Let's just tell him and get it over with."

"For Christ's sake, tell me what?!" Rick demanded impatiently. Jerry looked at Beth who nodded and Jerry sat up straight while clearing his throat. "M-Mr. Sanchez." Rick looked at him with hard eyes which made him even more nervous. "L-Look, I really love your daughter and...and I want to spend the rest of my life with her." Rick's eyes widened slightly, having a bad feeling where this was going. "I...I want to marry her, and we would like your blessing."

Beth then showed him the ring on her finger and Rick's knuckles tightened. Beth gulped nervously. "S-So, what do you think, Dad?" They were expecting him to pull out his gun again but what he did instead, somehow scared them even more. Rick stood up, gripping the table trying to control his temper. "Bethany, you and Summer get in the car now." He said in a low, dangerous voice and Beth tensed. "Dad, what are you going to-"

"Now, Beth!" Rick shouted and Beth would normally argue but since Summer was with her, she didn't want to argue with her father in front of her, so she left, throwing Jerry a worried look as she did. Jerry then turned back to Rick who was glaring. He gulped. "M-Mr. Sanchez, I-"

Rick pointed at him. "You walk home! I'll deal with you later!"

"¿Listo para el cheque? (Ready for the check?)" The waiter asked and Rick paid her. "Esto debería cubrirlo. (This should cover it.)" He then dug in his pockets for something else and handed her a demon. "Y aquí hay algo para sus problemas. (And here's a little something for your troubles.)"

The waiter was speechless. "Dios mío... ¡Gracias, señor, gracias! (Oh my God...thank you, sir, thank you!)" She finally said with much apparition. "Claro, no hay problema. Eres un buen camarero, te lo mereces. (Sure, no problem. You're a good waiter, you deserve it.)" Rick said while walking out but not before throwing Jerry one last look. "Hope you enjoyed that chili while it was going in Jerry because it's going to be a bitch coming out!"

Rick then left and Jerry looked at the waiter in confusion. "What did he mean by-" He was cut off when his stomach started growling loudly. "Oh no!" He quickly stood up. "Uh, where's your bathroom?!" He asked the waiter.

"A la derecha." The waiter answered but Jerry just looked at her in confusion. "What?!"

"¡A la derecha!"

"I don't understand what you're saying!" Jerry yelled and his stomach started to growl louder. "Oh, I don't have time for this! I'm just going to go to the place across the street!"

Jerry then ran out of the restaurant, going as fast as he could but then, he paused. "...Oh no..."

...

At the house,

Rick stomped inside while Beth went upstairs to get Summer ready for bed. He sat down at the table, taking a few sips of his flask, trying to calm himself down. Beth then came back, looking at him with her arms crossed. Rick took a couple more breaths before standing up and facing her.

"The fuck are you thinking?!" Rick demanded and Beth glared at him. "That I love him, and I want to spend the rest of my life with him!"

Rick rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Y-You're too young to even know what love is, Beth! Love sucks, it does nothing but hold you back and stab you in the heart!"

Beth looked at him in shock. "...So, you're saying your love for mom was a mistake?"

"Yes, the biggest Goddamn mistake I ever made! Y-You're fucking 19 Beth and all ready, y-you're fucking up your life! You already have Summer holding you back from your dreams of becoming a surgeon, w-what do you think marrying Jerry is going to do?! I'll tell you what, I life full of misery!"

Beth had tears in her eyes. "So, I guess that's a no on getting your blessing."

"It's a hell no! No way am I giving you two my blessing!"

Beth wiped her eyes before glaring at her father. "You know when mom died, I never felt so alone in my life. For years, I felt like a ghost, a freak! No one wanted to be my friend, everyone just ignored me, and you were always gone...then Jerry came into my life and for the first time in my life, I felt visible. Jerry listens to me and loves me for who I am! Thanks to him, I don't feel alone anymore! I don't care what you say, with or without your blessing I'm marrying Jerry!"

Beth then ran up to her room, not giving Rick the chance to say anything and he winced when he heard the door slam. He sighed and slumped back in his chair. 'Well, that sure went well.' A picture then fell out of his pocket, and he looked down to see it was a picture of Diane.

Rick rolled his eyes. "How ironic." He muttered and picked up the picture, staring at his wife's brown eyes. "Am I the asshole here, Diane? I-Is it so w-wrong that I don't want her to get married? I married you, thinking we were going to have an adventurous life together forever but then...She's going to get hurt, Diane, a-and end up l-like me!"

Rick was staring at the picture, like he was expecting an answer but of course, he didn't get one. Rick sighed, he hated this. 'For the first time in my life, I felt visible!' His daughter's voice echoed in his ear and Rick sighed. "...Dammit."

...

In Beth's room,

She was sitting on the edge of her bed, thinking. Honestly, she has never thought about marriage before, she always planned on becoming a famous surgeon but when Jerry suddenly proposed to her, she just got caught up in the moment and said, yes but...does she really want to marry Jerry?

Sure, she loves him but was she really ready to marry him, ready to say goodbye to the life she knew and the future she dreamed for herself...maybe her dad is right, maybe she is making a mistake.

Jerry then came in, wearing tight red pants and Beth almost laughed at the sight. "What happened to you?" Jerry sighed. "I shit my pants and some random lady was nice enough to let me borrow these."

Beth smiled a bit amused. "I'm sorry, babe." Jerry sat next to her. "Jerry, you know you aren't allowed to sleep in here."

"I know...I just came to say goodnight to Summer, I-I just need a minute to catch my breath. I ran all the way here." Beth then glanced to the side before looking at him. "Jerry...there's something I need to tell you."

But before Beth could tell him, a knock came from her door and Rick walked in. "Oh, good, you're both here." Rick then chuckled when he noticed Jerry's pants. "Nice pants, Jerry! Looks good on you. Hey, did you enjoy that chili!" He mocked and Jerry growled at him. "Fuck you, Rick!"

Rick crossed his arms. "Didn't we just discuss-"

"Yeah, we did!" Jerry yelled while standing up. "You call me Jerry instead of Jeremy because you have no respect for me, well you know what, I don't have any respect for you either! You have been an asshole to me since day one, even though I tried everything in my power to get along with you because I know how much Beth loves you, but I've had enough, so yeah, fuck you, Rick Sanchez!"

Beth looked at Jerry with shock on her face and love in her eyes. Rick whistled. "Well, l-look who finally grew some balls. Maybe you aren't bad for my daughter." Beth blinked in surprise. "What?"

Rick sighed and went over to her. "Beth...d-does Jerry make you happy? W-Will marrying him really help you n-not feel alone anymore?"

Beth looked at him then at Jerry who was looking at her with big brown eyes and it made her heart clinched. "...Yes."

"You sure y-you won't regret it?" Rick pushed and she looked him dead in the eye. "Yes." Rick studied her for a moment then nodded. "Ok."

"So...?" Jerry said and Rick glared at him. "Yes, you have my blessing, but I still don't like nor respect you, Jerryyy!" Rick yelled while storming out.

Jerry smiled at her. "It all worked out, now we can get married and plan our future together!" Beth smiled softly at him but if Jerry was smart enough, he would have noticed the hit of doubt in her eyes. "Yeah."

...

Rick went into the garage, drinking a bottle of alcohol and looking at the picture of Diane again. "...I-I hope I didn't just make a mistake. If I did, I'm blaming you, Diane! Man, I-I need to lay down, need rest, g-gotta start planning for a wedding soon."
