After an exciting round of exploring the stars, Boba and Hondo were both laughing at they returned.
"We gotta let the girls come next time." Boba said. "Gabby would've loved all those stars we saw."
"You should've seen the tricks I did on a sailor when I was your age." Hondo said. "They'd be bowing at my feet, calling me the king of the skies."
"Maybe." Boba said. "No one exactly sung my praises when I left home. But I'm gonna change all that."
"Are you now? How so?"
"I've got some plans. And since I was the one to miraculously find the captain's lost daughter, he does owe me a favor, according to his father."
"Ooh. Well, sometimes plans go astray. And the people you trust... they are not always who they appear to be."
"Not this time."
Boba then had another thought.
"So... how'd you lose your mom?" Boba asked.
Hondo looked down and said, "Sometimes you lose the people you love while you or they are... chasing a dream. Such as... sailing across the sea for adventure, only to drown in a storm."
Boba silently gasped. That was just like with his father.
"Would she have found it worth the risk?" Boba asked.
"Oh, I believe she would if she were here now." Hondo wrapped a caring arm around Boba. "And so would your father, no doubt."
Suddenly, there was a flash, and the boat jerked to the side.
Hondo went upstairs to find out what was going on.
"Oh dear." gasped Satine, taking a look. "The star of Armytheus. It's gone."
"Evasive maneuvers!" Anakin shouted.
"Everyone fasten your lifelines!" Obi-Wan called.
Qui-Gon immediately got the children's lifelines fastened before fastening his own as well as the horses'. Everyone else rushed to get theirs on as the burning star's sparks began burning the sails.
Orders were given to secure the sails. Hondo nearly fell off the mast. Luckily, Boba grabbed the rope just in time and pulled him to safety.
Blasts were fired at any debris that came up, but the debris was the least of their worries now. As they were now faced with a...
"BLACKHOLE!" Carmine shouted.
The ship was being pulled in.
Qui-Gon asked Satine if there was a safe route they could take, but Satine told him that they would be pulled in in approximately one minute and then a large solar wind would hit.
"That's it!" Anakin said. He knew just what to do. "Obi-Wan! Release the sails."
"You heard the captain." Obi-Wan shouted. "Release the sails."
"But we just finished securin' them!" A weequay whined.
"Make up your mind." Ventress said, climbing up to get the job done.
Boba and Qui-Gon were place in charge of making sure all lifelines were secure.
But, in all the commotion, Obi-Wan fell from his position. Luckily, his lifeline kept him from falling. However, it didn't look like it would stay that way for long, and someone came up to Obi-Wan's lifeline... and cut it!
Obi-Wan started to scream as he was about to fall, however, he felt his line jerk again and looked up to see Carousella holding onto his lifeline with her teeth and pulling him up with all her might, as well as what magic she could muster from her horn, as blackholes were known to weaken unicorns' magic when in range.
"CAPTAIN! The last wave!" Satine shouted. "Here it comes!"
"EVERYONE HOLD ON!" Anakin shouted. "It's gonna be a bumpy ride!"
Qui-Gon held onto his granddaughters and Hondo held onto Boba as the final wave hit, shooting the ship back out into space.
Everyone cheered as they'd made it to safety.
"Auntie!" Korkie exclaimed, hugging his aunt relieved she was okay.
"We're safe now, Korkie." Satine soothed, kissing her nephew's head.
"Your astronimical advice was most helpful, Dr. Kryze." Anakin complimented.
"Thank you, Captain." Satine said.
"Hondo, I must say, your cabin boy did a great job securing the lifelines." Anakin said, ruffling Boba's hair.
Then Satine realized her boyfriend was missing. "Wait! Where's Obi-Wan?"
"A little help here?" Carousella called, still pulling Obi-Wan up with her teeth.
Anakin and Qui-Gon quickly rushed over and helped Obi-Wan back on board.
"Obi-Wan!" Anakin exclaimed. "Are you okay?"
"What happened?" Qui-Gon asked.
"That horse cut his lifeline." said Maul, pointing at Carousella. "I saw her."
Others couldn't believe it when Maul said that.
"That's not true!" Carousella said. "I saved Obi-Wan. I heard the rope break, and I ran over and grabbed it. Luckily the rope was just close enough for me to grab it from the edge of the ship."
"Obi-Wan?" Anakin looked to his friend.
"It's true." Obi-Wan said. "Carousella saved my life. I saw her as she began pulling me back on board."
"Carousella's so brave." Gabby said.
"It had to be her." Maul growled. "She obviously climbed up to that mast, cut Kenobi's rope, then jumped down and saved him to cover her crime."
Qui-Gon looked at how long the rope was now.
"And how, pray tell, would she have cut the rope?" Qui-Gon said. "It is well-known that black holes weaken unicorns' magic. And by the cut edge and lack of saliva on this rope, it was cut with a blade, not by being chewed."
"She obviously had to have flown to cut it with a blade in her mouth." Maul crossed his arms.
"Really?" Gabby had her hands on her hips. "Aren't you forgetting something?"
"And what is that, Princess?" Maul growled, getting into the girl's face.
"Carousella can't fly." Gabby said, to everyone else's shock. "She never learned how."
"It's true." Boba said, stepping up. "Carousella wasn't much more than a filly when I met her. Way too young to have learned to fly, and we never had any pegasi come by to teach her."
"And I hadn't gotten the chance to teach her before she was lost." said Armorous. "Come to think of it, I never took the time to teach her during the voyage because I'd assumed she'd already learned."
"And there's one more detail."
"Which is...?" Anakin asked the boy.
"How would Maul know exactly where the rope was cut from?" Boba pointed out. "Unless it was him."
And when Maul was searched, he definitely had a sword on him. A sword that had fibers of a rope on its blade.
In that case, Anakin ordered for Maul to be locked up for the remainder of the voyage. And locked up tight.
