*All rights go to the people who came up with the amazing CSI:NY show on CBS. I only own my OC and any others I may create. There may be some scenarios that I will come up with that are my own. Please be kind if you review, as I would love to have some feedback from everyone if you like or dislike the story. I currently work from home and have a lot of time to write so I will try to update regularly. *
There always seems to be sirens going off throughout the city. It is like there is always something happening in this bustling city. I was on my way to work. My little café was near a police precinct I think because there were always some cars or uniformed officers walking by and coming into the café.
I tended to not pay any attention to them when they had 'shop talk' as they liked to call it. I just refilled their coffee when they needed it. My café was a small café, so I normally didn't have many customers, but enough to stay in business.
"Taeylor this coffee is so much better than the stations," a customer says.
"Thanks," I say putting the pot of coffee down on the counter. "I try to come up with some unique blends for everyone."
"You blended this coffee?" another customer asked.
"Yep," I said. "After college, I went to several places around the world to see how it is grown and what is considered the best coffee during what time of day and season."
"Wow," the first customer says. "You did all of that to learn about coffee?"
"Well, I do like to drink it and I wanted to know all I could about it," I say with a laugh.
"Well, we are glad you did," the second customer said. "Or else we wouldn't be having it now."
The bell rings for the front door opening and I turn to greet the customer that walked in. They sat at a table, and I brought over their coffees and cookies they ordered. The day continued like every other day in the coffee shop. Sometimes I would stay open a little later than normal to offer coffee to those who worked later. This was one of those nights that I stayed open late. I was cleaning off the counter when the bell for the door rang and I looked up and when I saw who entered I grinned.
"If it isn't the amazing duo of Flack and Messer," I say getting 2 cups ready to pour some coffee.
"Taeylor," Flack greets. "How is the night going so far?"
"Oh you know," I say setting down the cups in front of them and turning to get the pot of coffee, "Same as always."
"Still a no to my question," Messer asks.
"Yes," I laugh and answer. "I still am not going to go with you to get a bite."
"Ouch," Messer says. "You wound me."
Flack laughs along with me, "You tried man."
"I don't like to mix work and my social life," I say as the front door opens again and someone else comes in the door. "Got a customer to take care gents."
I got to the customer who has taken a seat at one of the tables by the window. They say yes when asked if they would like some coffee and I go back to get a cup for them. While at the counter, I look over to Flack and Messer and raise an eyebrow. I did not get a good feeling from this customer but they hadn't done anything and it was late so I was probably just tired.
