Chapter 1
Damon's Urequited Love,
It's been 2 years and damon's love for elena is getting deeper and deeper, and even more stronger and even more painful. He began to pace back and forth thinking about what to do about his uncontrollable love for elena. Days and weeks have gone by and damon struggled more and more. Everytime he saw elena and stefan together it destroys his heart. Every time he thinks on all they have been through he falls into despair. He gazed outside and saw nothing but night. He stood in his bedroom gazing out the window just watching the darkness, lost in thought.
Just then he decided to step out into the night. He dropped to his knees and said to the stars and the full moon. "Please universe God or whatever is out there please help me please save me from elena". He just thought to himself. "I want to find love again I want to find a love that will save me from myself and elena". They only person he knew that was able to help him was dead.
"I shouldn't have killed lexi she could have helped me", damon thought to himself feeling guilt shame and udder despair. Lexi was standing there unable to be seen and heard, but she observed him and his feelings. "That's all I wanted was an apology", lexi said as she forgave damon in that moment. Later that night damon sought out Bonnie. He knocked on her door and she answered. "Damon what are you doing here"? Bonnie asked feeling suspicious but seeing the desperation and sorrow in his eyes.
She noticed that at that moment he was harmless. "I need you to permanently resurrect lexi if you can because I need her help". Damon replied, with despair in his voice. Bonnie chuckled a bit, "I very much doubt that she will be willing to help you" Bonnie replied, sarcastically. "I know I don't deserve her help or yours I deserve to suffer alone for the rest of my enternal life I know I get it but please humor me". Damon said, with annoyance in his voice.
She stood there and paused for a moment. "Please Bonnie I'm begging you to help" damon said, nearly in tears. "I can't help you but the witch spirits might be able to help you if you make a good enough argument you might able to convince them". Bonnie said as she closed the door. "Thank you", damon said in whispered tone.
So he drove to the witch burial ground. He walked down to the basement and knelt down in the middle of the room. He gazed at the burning candles and as the light brightened the darkened room. "Hello I know I have no right to be here or ask for favors". "And I know that I am abomination against nature but I come before you humble and ready to pay my penance, in return for a favor". Damon said, with words from the heart.
The witch spirits gave no indication that they acknowledged his request. There was just silence. Damon waited for 2 hours waiting for them to grant his request. But there was merely just more silence. So he stood up and began to walk toward the stairs. When at the last second he felt a gust of wind, from behind him. He turned around and there stood emily Bennett. "Hello Emily", damon said, in a whisper as he dropped to his knees before her. "My Fellow spirits and I have decided to grant you an audience under the condition that you behave civilly.
"OK" Damon said weakly. "Now if you speak true of your willingness to pay penance for your sins then we shall absolve you of them and might be willing to grant you a request", emily said, with a wise unjudgemental way. "I am I'll do anything at this point in order to get what I need" damon said, humbly. "Then speak your sins and make them known". Emily said, with wise tone in her voice. "I killed a lot of innocent people I've killed so many people that I don't even remember their names", damon began filled with pain and despair in his voice.
I have hurt people even the ones I care about and I have destroyed lives", damon continued humbly. I don't deserve your help and I don't deserve lexi's help I don't deserve elena's love I don't deserve happiness I don't deserve to live and I definitely don't deserve stefan's respect". Damon said, feeling tremendous guilt and regret. "I deserve to be miserable alone with my own self hatred, I don't expect you and spirits to grant my request, I don't even expect lexi to help me nor do I expect that she's going to want to, and I don't blame her." I don't deserve her help or her forgiveness". Damon said, with pure sorrow in his voice.
I killed once because I was angry with her because I felt she was keeping my brother from me which in truth was quite the opposite, she was trying to bring me closer to him. There was no one really better to change me and make me a better man". Damon said, being completely vulnerable. Lexi stood there seeing the side of damon that she's wanted him to reveal. "I need lexi's help and I need my brother's help as well but I need lexi to help me get over elena".
Damon said with, humbleness in his voice. I love elena so much but I can't be selfish with her". Damon said, full of pain, to the point where is nearly in tears. "I can't be selfish with stefan either so I need to let elena go but I can't not without lexi's help and not without stefan's." Why must you have the assistance of both why not just seek the help of your brother"? Emily said, with wonder in her voice. "Because stefan can't help find love afterwards lexi can". Damon said, humbly.
Little did damon know that stefan and the whole gang were standing behind him, they all saw him being something other than a dick. At some point he could feel them all behind him and he turned around and then saw the looks of compassion in there eyes. "I guess you all think that I look pretty pathetic don't you" said with humble sarcasm. "No damon we don't you doing the right thing and I am so sorry that you felt that you couldn't come to ask for my help". Stefan said as he walked over to damon and knelt down next to him.
I'm going to let her go stefan I promise" damon said, humbly. "I know damon I know and I believe that lexi will help you if she's here and heard all of this I believe she will give you a second chance" stefan said as he gave damon a compassionate smile. "I know this because I am going to give you a second chance because you deserve one". Stefan said, with compassion in his tone.
You have given the spirits much to discuss I will return momentarily with your answer". Emily said as a gust of wind blew and disappeared. "She'll help damon that's always been her thing" stefan said, as he patted his brother's shoulder. "I know but she has every right to refuse" damon said, feeling regret for everything that he did to her.
"But damon your making it up to her now yeah years later but it's the fact that it's never too late to change for the better and you are doing right by me and doing right by elena and your here to do right by lexi". Stefan said as he had a compassionate look in his eye.
Just then Jeremy turned his head and saw lexi. "She's here guys lexi's here" Jeremy said with a smile. "Tell damon that I forgive him and that he has now become the man I always knew he would be who I have always wanted to see" lexi said with a tear falling from her eye. "She said she forgives you damon and that you have become the man she always knew you would become the man she wanted to see" Jeremy said, with a smile.
Damon could not help but smile at the fact that he was finally doing the right things. Just then a gust wind blew revealing emily. "Damon salvatore my fellow spirits and I have approved your request to be absolved under one condition that become our soldier of nature" emily said, with
"Wait soldier of nature what does that mean"? Caroline said, with wonder in her voice. "It means that they want damon to become the Procter of the human race not the animal that eats them save innocent lives not take them and to become the slayer of his own kind to do so" bonnie replied, with wisdom.
"I'll do it damon said, as he rose to his feet and had a detirmend look in his eye. "WHAT" everyone said in unison. "Damon if you do this no more care free no humanity damon, always hero damon emotional damon all the time forever" Stefan said, trying to get his brother to think first before deciding. "I know but what has care free damon ever really done nothing it's brought me nothing but loneliness and death and misery.
" Don't worry brother I'll still be my same old charming self just not the worst version of me anymore" damon said, with his usual charming smile. Then turns back to emily and says "I'll do it. She bows her head then says" Very well now you make you request" "I want you to bring lexi back from the dead permanently and I promise I won't kill her this time ever again" damon said, with determination.
"Very well it is done" emily said as she disappeared. Just then there was a bright yellow light and when it faded there stood lexi in the flesh. She and stefan shared a hug and then she wrapped her arms around damon. "I forgive you and I always new you could do it" she whispered in his ear. "I am so sorry for what I did to you twice but I swear I am going to make it up to you" damon said with a look of regret in his eyes. "You don't have to do that you just made it up to me just now you gave me back what you took from me you've earned a second chance tonight" lexi said with a forgiving smile. "I need your help lexi I am in dark place" damon said, beginning to feel despair.
"I promise you that I will not stop until you have gotten over elena and found love again" lexi replied, as she placed her hands on his cheeks.
Author's note hey guys this is the first chapter of my second story I'm still working on my first one I promise. But I got an idea that I wanted to do, so here it is, if anyone feels like I stole any of your ideas please let me know enjoy. Chad
